Hopefully it won't randomly crash to the TV's home screen while watching.
How did it all go so wrong? Eobard went from ruthless calculated killer to relationship adviser in 5 short seasons. What a joke!
I was excited when I first heard there was a show about a female soccer team lost in the woods eating each other, then disappointed when I found out it was about cannibalism.
The first few episodes start off a bit shakey and a lot of the characters initially start off a bit dense and/or one dimensional. I would urge you to give it another go and get through a couple of episodes. After that, this show proves it is entirely worthy of the score and praise it gets.
This'll go the way of John Carter.
Massive info dump at the start. Cringy dialogue throughout. Every introduction to a new member is the same. Too many things just happen to go just right to make the good guys look good. Like the bird horse thing. It knocks him off and happens to fly in front of him just right for him to jump back on. In slow motion. Which this movie also has a lot of. I'm sure this would be 20 minutes shorter if everything was shown in real time. Also, why does Charlie Hunnam have that horrible Irish adjacent accent?
My favourite genre is scifi fantasy but between this, the Creator and Avatar, I'm getting really tired of being dissapointed.
God the acting is atrocious.
I have no idea what the actor's name is, but the same guy seen in this movie, as the villager with the long hair, sunglasses and white shirt, who takes the pilot prisoner near the beginning of the movie, also has starred in a few awesome epic bug spray commercials from Thailand, most notably as a bad-ass cockroach. It's all I kept thinking about while watching this movie, in every scene he appeared in. I kept seeing him as the giant cockroach, in my head.:D
the show should've ended with all of them dying due to the asbestos exposure
Intelligent, twisting, gripping, well written and well acted. Definitely worth a watch. Netflix gives you options - mine was the original German with English subtitles. That’s my recommendation.
So far I watched countless episodes and series. Never watched something more than once. Except Rick and Morty... Starting my third rewatch right now :D, it is that good! But I can imagine it is not for everyone ;).
"The Batcave is literal perfection."
"It will be...when it becomes a kitchen."
I gave this a chance, so you don't have to.
Follows the now-usual Disney pattern of employing third-rate talent for directing and writing. Not even Ewan McGregor can elevate this to being watchable - he gets nothing to work with. Don't bother with this.
Wow only a 61% rating and it hasn't even been released yet. It's so bad people from the future built a time machine just to travel back to warn us!
I just got back from a preview showing for the new Spider-man movie, and WOW. It is LIT (pardon my language). Soooooo funny with tons of personality and a surprisingly great depth of emotion in quite a few scenes (some tears may have been shed). I love this new take on the comic book hero origin movie and the entire film just screams originality. I wasn't 100% sure on the animated look before, but it really fits into the entire setting and "alternate dimensions" premise of the movie later, which injects a ton of creativity and potential into this new film.
After Sony released Venom, I thought that they should just stop trying with the Spider-verse. However, this new film and universe gives me a completely different perspective. I can't believe something like this came from Sony...
It's a bit creepy that Violet looks so similat to Emily Browning from the movie with Jim Carrey.
Great animation, mind blowing visuals, tremendous story arc, amazing humour and pays homage to the late Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. The post credits scene was funny as fuck.
Man what a show, Harrelson is great but McConaughey is brillant.
I don't get it, why are people being so damn critical about the movie ? Ya gotta understand that it was just a catalyst so that the MCU franchise could grow on it; the movie was purely made to introduce Captain America, the cosmic cube and Agent Carter, nothing more nothing less, and it did a good job at that.
Great storytelling and concepts, it may be weird and even inaccesible for some folks, but it’s also very creative, original and bold. The characters are fantastic and well rounded, and they all inhabit a NY that’s captured it in a very unique way. That’s mostly a result of the animation, which grasps the attention immediately because it’s so boundary pushing and atmospheric. It’s just hard to find any weaknesses in it. The comedy is strong and tasteful, it doesn’t drag, the voice acting is excellent and all of the different Spiderman add to the story in their own way. I’m not as much of a fan of some of the bland autocrooning in the soundtrack (that’s probably the biggest thing that might make this seem dated in the future), though I generally still like most of the musical choices made here.
8.5/10
Absolutely fantastic. I will admit that I hesitated at first, but then I thought why not give it a try. Gloomy and eerie, but good at it. The music throughout the series is really well chosen; it fits perfectly well. The writing is also top notch, as is the acting. You can either have it in English sound or in German sound with English subtitles. Honestly I wasn't bothered at all with the English sound, so if that's your thing you will be able to enjoy the series just fine (maybe you'll also be slightly less distracted as opposed to reading subtitles). Personally I chose the German sound, as it felt more natural.
Honestly, give it a try. Might very well be the best series I've watched this year.
EDIT: Binged season 2 in a sitting. Just wow. This review doesn't do it justice. And the casting...I mean, I totally thought old Ulrich was the result of CGI or something. Season 2 is best thing I've watched this year and last year included (ever?).
A Cop Drama With Nathan Fillion, I started it watching it because of him and honestly its a pretty enjoyable show with an array of characters. Not your usual cop drama, there is the right amount of humor and I'm liking it and I want to see where this goes. Lethal Weapon is based on the comedy and has some dramatic elements. Chicago P.D. is a serious drama and you get invested in every moment, this one comes right inbetween.
I just love how Nathan Fillion plays his character, just brings me back to the Firefly days.
I'm blown away by the cinematography and production design of this show. I won't comment on the storyline because we're too early in to say, but so far, so good.
It’s Superbad mixed with some of that Community type of humour and creativity.
Really well done, I’d recommend this to just about anyone, even if you’re not close to its target audience.
Go and see it!
8.5/10
i think it was 5 years ago when i finished reading this series. i was 12 and i think i was reading the books for quite a while and honestly, after all these years, i cant possibly be any happier with the outcome. this show has done the books justice so far. its like im reliving my childhood.
its funny, complicated, exciting and one of the best mysteries out there. if you havent read the books, i really suggest them. ive read a lot of famous mystery novels and nothing beats how connected and well built this series is.
the acting was amazing, the few musics of the show were great, there are some real stars here like neil patrick harris who forever owns my heart, and the mystery of lemony snicket and beatrice feels exactly as perfect as it felt in the books. what a solid show 10/10
It's an ok show.
For my taste, it was too much like a parody sometimes. Lots of clichés and stereotypes, lots of over the top (quite frankly not very good) acting, lots of dumb jokes.
In this same quick, comedic style, Younger is a much better show. And fashion wise, I'd stick with The Bold Type, or even the timeless Devil Wears Prada.
The potential was there, but the execution was sloppy. I hope they get better writers if it gets picked up for a second season.
So far:
Love the writing, not as Good as Smiths Episodes, but definitely worlds better than what Capaldi had to Endure (It never felt like it fit).
Jodie is great - She makes funny faces without looking stupid or repulsive (Actually I think Capaldi looked very repulsive when making faces in comparison - I'm glad he rarely did).
I'll edit, should I feel this has changed througout the season.
Ziva needs to come back. Now.
the only thing this show has going for it, is the fact that it's free of the usual goofy MCU humour. unfortunately, it's also free of a decent pace, dear god, this show is boring
