Severely overrated film. Aged horribly because of the way it was filmed, acting isn't great, the story is severely unrealistic and it's pretty darn boring to be honest.
I really don't see why this gets so much love.
Why was this movie filmed with a pink Motorola Razr.
Weird at this point hope it will get better
Bit of a disappointing ending. I guess they wrapped the story up though, but was definitely expecting something a little more interesting than what we got.
I also didn't think they needed to "spell out" the time jumps, they were kinda obvious in context.
So when does this play?
Because until the 19th century no one gave a crap if and how much Opiates you took with Laudanum being free to buy for everyone up until 1920...
About the Pilot in general:
I am not impressed so far. The actors are ok, there is no pc-washing going on (female sailors and such) but the story isn't that interesting either.
Suspense basically doesn't exist, since I don't give a crap about what is happening to the characters.
As someone that dislikes group chats and has been put in the uncomfortable position of having to turn down an invitation, I felt seen. Lol.
Eh, it's supposed to be some kind of exposé.... 2 years later... after all the skullduggery already came out. Okay. I agree with most of it I guess but it's just more "right wing" divisive propaganda to counter the MSM's left wing divisive propaganda. Presented by Candace Owens... the fake conservative grifter owned by Israel. Sigh...
:clown::clown::clown:
As someone who speaks Portuguese (BR), it's sucks that they speak english as if was portuguese, but other than that, great beginning.
Only partially in and I'll add as it goes on.
- He arrived in Northpole and Aang didn't do single moment of Waterbending.. Aka he's magically gonna learn it in the moment of need...
All the acting falls flat.. Almodt every single actor did an aweful job this episode... The only one who remains consistent is Iroh.
Sokka and the princess kissing out of nowhere
Lighting effect got introduced at a terrible moment on top of looking terrible
The longer the show goes on the more it seems to suffer from rushed content. It's slowly falling apart.
Another good episode, was a really good episode for Katara, however, while the chemistry was actually there for Sokka and Yue, I felt the kiss was WAY too rushed, also the conflict between Azula and Ozai feels very rushed too, felt like this show would've benefited from having 10 episodes instead of 8
This movie does not hold up. Do not re-watch unless you want disappointment in your past self.
It continues to be the best (disclaimer: haven't watched Andor yet) spin-off show in the franchise. I liked seasons one and two better. I guess, I liked the space cowboy vibe of the earlier seasons better....
This third season is well produced, has all the nice costumes, stages and FX that became a trademark of this show. Score is again awesome. And yet, the season's ranking is worse than the mean of all episodes' It simply doesn't tell a concise story. It takes forever before you realize what the main story is supposed to be. Some parts of the story seem to be totally unrelated to the overall story. Even totally inconsequential. It often feels like an open world-game. They have created this huge open world and sometimes they decide to tell side-quests rather than an actual story.
It's absolutely worth a watch though. Just don't expect a complex story. Enjoy the visuals and the cute kid and you'll have a couple of hours of innocuous entertainment. Cleaned from all edginess by the Disney corporation.
The solid finale served as a redeeming aspect for an otherwise unsatisfactory season.
Ok this episode was total crap. Reacher stands out in the open and calls out for the bad guy who could be hiding anywhere and shoot him from any angle. Then the helicopter comes in with a gunman shooting an AK or something similar and again Reacher goes out in the open with his pistol and has a shootout with the guy? Then the cop walks out in the open straight towards the bad guys? That’s just so stupidly unrealistic. No trained officer would do that. He would run from cover to cover and try and flank them or at least come at a diagonal. Was I asleep during the first 13 episodes or did the action sequences just become very stupid?
A full writers room thinks that state of the art surface to air missiles are just delivered by some random trucker completely by himself.
Denzel Washington can never do me wrong. Amazing/genius actor
You can't go wrong with Denzel Washington. Just awesome.
Everytime somebody makes those Sigma edits on Godfather, you laugh and say to yourself "What a stupid kid!"
That kid is Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
Probably the best Branagh Poirot movie so far, mostly by virtue of not having the ugly, plastic sheen of the previous 2 movies. This one captures the old school filmmaking style Branagh is going for pretty authentically, and the visuals are easily the best thing about this movie. With that being said, the final result is still nothing to write home about. While the characters and acting are generally ok, the dialogue and mystery are once again unexciting and lack a distinct artistic flair. Add to that a sluggish pace and poorly executed touches of horror (really unnecessary if you’re not willing to lean into that influence in a creative way), and you have a movie that is overall pretty forgettable and dull.
4.5/10
The articles about how scary this movie is were certainly paid for. Very basic movie. Though Sandra Escacena is a far superior actress to your average scream queen.
I love Harrison Ford, but he just seemed lackluster in this one. I never could really buy into him as Jack Ryan and he just couldn't make it "believable" that he was anything BUT a nobody analyst. I had to keep reminding myself that Jack Ryan had this hardcore military background and could handle himself in a fight because Ford just wasn't real convincing of that. The story has a tendency to drag on longer than it needs to, and Anne Archer added zilch to the entire show; if anything she was just an annoying extra. No spoilers here but that ending blew chunks. Just totally awful. TOTALLY awful. I don't regret watching it, but I wouldn't waste the time on watching it more than once.
Decent but overrated. Plot got a bit stupid just to be complex. Where did angier get his Lord mansion and money from? Did he get a wooden leg at some point? If Alfred's secret was being a twin why did he mention Tesla at all? Why did Tesla coincidentally have a machine that makes a double? Why did he just give the machine away and vanish? This movie dressed up the stupidity well. It was a trick in itself. Some of characters made some very odd and unbelievable moral decisions. Some of the acting was awful. Especially Bowie. Caine was good. The plot twists were predictable.
That one hour felt like a whole day. How they can make it so boring?
Only just entertaining, locations were the highlights. Overall the GT series has lost it's grass routes of being a "Car show".
"The amazing trio of fucked up brothers". For a moment, a very brief moment, I believed that they were really going to unite to "save" the company, but I realized that they would not last and never did. perpetuating these power games.
To Shiv and Roman with their affectionate moment realized that they are broken and Ken, unfortunately, was unable to realize that.
I felt like I was seeing my family come together and I had a huge blow to see that fight - especially with Kendall like that, falling off the building without having thrown himself.
And in the end, the succession went to the most unpredictable, but clear that it could and, perhaps, should be him. Tom finally got the Empire of the Roys without being a Roy.
End of season 10/10 Thank you, HBO.
John Wick has nothing to offer outside of ridiculous and repetitive fight sequences. It is unintelligent and uninteresting. Just a little mental stimulation is all I ask.
There’s 30-35 minutes of a stylish, cartoonish, low stakes action reel in here. As soon as people open their mouths, it becomes laughable to me. It really says something about how much people are starving for practical action movies when they’re willing to excuse E-tier level acting, pacing, characters, dialogue, worldbuilding and storytelling. 70% of this is not an engaging experience, it’s boring and not well executed. It’s pretty to look at (easily one of the best looking films of the year), but inexcusably long. Sure, only Tom Cruise can match the action at the moment, but he doesn’t forget to fill the other parts of the movie with clever writing, intrigue, tension, drama and humour. I’ll never understand what people see in this. These would be so much better if they explicitly acknowledged their own camp and had a little more fun with themselves, instead of trying to play it straight and cool.
4/10
They never should have made this into a "universe".
Overly-complicated long fights that make no sense.
Keanu has 10 lines literally.
The only time he delivers lines with emotion is when he's speaking to Laurence Fishburne or - surprisingly - when he's talking in Russian.
Too many new characters that are there only to be killed / to be forgotten and basically nobody cares about them.
The villain is weak.
Too long, which equals too boring.
I am convinced that people just don't get what a good action movie is these days, not only because of the majority of the comments here, but also most people in my theatre liked it so much. Just because there are long complicated fight scenes, doesn't mean that this is a good action movie.
First John Wick film is a perfection. Second one was also very good. I will rewatch them and pretend that this was never a "universe".
