The Matrix Revolutions

The Matrix trilogy lost some of its fire in the last film. The story line felt boring most times and most of the action I felt that was great in the first two films wasn't in the last. I feel like this was a side effect of The Wachowski brothers trying to focus more on the real world and Zion than the Matrix which let's be honest the best action scenes were of that inside the Matrix. In the end Matrix Revolutions turned out to be a disappointing conclusion to the trilogy. Still despite its flaws, Matrix Revolutions shouldn't be skipped if you haven't seen the whole trilogy as it was still somewhat "just a little" bit entertaining to watch.

The Fast and the Furious

The Fast and the Furious is a great action blockbuster. The cast wasn't half bad with the acting sub-par. The story line was interesting to follow, and the races were fun to watch with eye-popping action. If you love car chases, races, or any kind of action film, you'll love this. The Fast and the Furious franchise is one of my favorite film franchises out there.

The Dark Knight

I felt that The Dark Knight was if only just a tiny bit less entertaining than the first film Batman Begins, but by just slightly which isn't bad because it is still in the same league as the first one. Nolan continued to bring his flare to his version of Batman in The Dark Knight trilogy. Bale, Freeman, Caine, and Oldman all turned in great performances again in this sequel and with the addition of Eckhart and Ledger which also had great performances as well the cast was excellent and the story line was engaging to watch. Ledger did amazing work bring the role of The Joker to a new darker direction unlike anything seen before.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

In my opinion the best of Judd Apatow's movies. I thought it was hilarious and more entertaining to watch over other movies like Superbad, Knocked Up, and The 40 Year Old Virgin.

This Means War

I thought it was hilarious, and a very entertaining film. I thought all three leads were great, the action scenes were fun to enjoy, and the comedy were funny at times. I never went into the movie expecting anything great, and what I got in return was an enjoyable time at the theater. Just take it for what it is, mindless entertainment.

The Amazing Spider-Man
21 Jump Street

This remake of 21 Jump Street was very entertaining, hilarious, and raunchy. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum had some great chemistry. The story line was surprisingly good; usually movies of this type lack greatly in that department and the cameos were well done and hilarious. I'd recommend this film to anyone who enjoys a good laugh.

Mission: Impossible III

With J.J. Abrams directing this film, it is no wonder that Mission: Impossible III is excellent in every way. J.J. Abrams knows how to make a good television show and film. It was because of J.J. Abrams great work that I instantly became a fan of the Mission: Impossible franchise. The story line was perfectly balanced out with the action; which is a big improvement over the second film. Even though as a person Tom Cruise is a joke; when it comes to his acting there isn't anything to joke about. I enjoy how this guy does his own stunts and he does them well; this adds to the film experience, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman was an excellent choice to play the villain. Great story line, great cast, great acting, and above all else - great action scenes; all and all Mission: Impossible III was a welcome sequel to the franchise.

Thor

Thor as an excellent superhero film that it was, I felt like it could have improved in the story line more. The story line kept me interested throughout the film but wasn't as good as compared to say both Iron Man 1 & 2 and Captain America. Although in my opinion Captain America had a better story in its film, Thor was much more fun and entertaining to watch than Captain America. The cast was prefect, Hemsworth was an excellent choice for Thor, and Hiddleston played Loki so well along with Hopkins who was great as the great Odin; also Portman is great in anything she is in. With SHIELD more involved with this film than any other, it was a solid build up to The Avengers film and overall a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

The third film in the Transformers franchise Dark of the Moon was a huge improvement over Revenge of the Fallen and was just even a little better than the original. Dark of the Moon got just a little more dark than its predecessors cutting out some of its subpar comedy/silliness and making the plot of the film more interesting than the others. While I'm not a fan of the new female lead actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley I was short of glad that I didn't have to see Megan Fox again, though they should of went with a different actress other than Huntington-Whiteley. Bay really stepped it up with the action in this film.

Total Recall

You know... this remake of Total Recall wasn't that bad despite what others are saying. The action scenes I thought were really great and the special effects were excellent to look at it. While the story line could have been better - Farrell's Total Recall was overall a decent action film.

The Invention of Lying

In an era when original films are few and far in-between I thought The Invention of Lying was actually a pretty decently good film. Sure as a comedy it wasn't really hilarious but it had a good plot that was interesting and heartwarming and an excellent cast as well.

Man on a Ledge

Man on a Ledge was surprisingly good. It was entertaining and thrilling. It kept me on the edge of my seat a little bit at the end. I went into the theater with my brain turned off and with low expectations, and it helped me enjoyed the film more than it would have if I came in with high expectations. Take the movie for what it is, mindless fun. Don't over think it while you watch it. It was a great watch.

Men in Black 3

Men in Black III is different than the other two films before it. I thought it was not as good as the first film, but much better than the second one. The 3rd film in the franchise is a little darker than its predecessors which was alright, but was missing that humor from the first film. It kept me entertained throughout the film, but at the same time I was hoping for more to happen like more action scenes which Men in Black III lacked in a little.

Haywire

I thought it was like a female version of the Bourne movies with the filming of the movie mirroring the Ocean's movies with the flashbacks showing more story of how things came together and the locations they were in, as well as some of the music reminded me of the Ocean's films. Which doesn't shock me as much as the guy who directed this movie, also directed the Ocean's films. Though, while I did think it was like a female version of Bourne in away, but by all means I don't think it was a good as the Bourne movies were. Haywire's story was less compelling, but the action scenes was great enough to keep my attention in the film.

Lockout

Lockout is a fun popcorn flick through and through. Never once did I feel bored watching this at all. Guy Pearce has a ton of one-liners in this film and delivers them perfectly; it was hilarious; which caught me off guard because there aren't many funny scenes in a true action film. This isn't your typical A-type Hollywood movie; it is a B-type so I took it for what it was -- mindless fun. The story wasn't that bad it was just average; it was your typical spy film meets prison break story line. The whole movie is just surrounded by pure action and it takes no time getting to it.

Abduction

I must say, this movie wasn't that bad. Besides Taylor Lautner's acting which is a joke, everything else about this film was at least decent. I thought the action and suspense was enough to keep me entertained through the whole film. I don't know why everyone hates this film so much, maybe because a dude from Twilight is in it (who cares? I don't). His acting wasn't great, if they got a different actor then this movie could have been much better, but with the movie as is; I have seen much much much worst films then this.

The Italian Job

This film although has the penitential to be a great heist film feel short of something special. While The Italian Job has an excellent cast and the heist themselves were entertaining to watch unfold, the plot seemed mild to me with the element of a revenge flick mixed in which it doesn't pull off well. Besides the plot overall The Italian Job was very thrilling to watch even for just seeing the cast and the heists themselves and still better than most other films in its genre.

2 Fast 2 Furious

This film was less entertaining than the first film in the franchise. With the entire main cast from The Fast and the Furious not in attendants for 2 Fast 2 Furious except for Walker I felt the film was missing some of its spark because of it. The acting was on the same level as the first and the story line was kind of the same rehashed story the first one had except for two or three changes. Nonetheless even though the cast mostly changed and the kind of same story line is there the eye-popping action this movie delivers was fun and thrilling to watch.

American Pie

The first American Pie was hilarious funny and downright raunchy which works for a teen comedy like this. As I grew up since then and seen many films after this, looking back on this film from the late 1990's I can see the acting failed at times, more noticeably by Natasha Lyonne, but each one had their moments. I can't fault them, things in the movie business have changed since then; but nonetheless the cast was great and the story was well done. This film was born to become an instant classic. It really had shaped up some other movies like this in its wake, plus it created life to the term MILF which people use still to this day. Not many films can do that.

Iron Man

Iron Man was an excellent start for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel had pulled off a remarkable feat by taking their superheroes and started making their own movies in house, and they did it well. Iron Man (with the exception of Nolan's Batman movies and Spider-Man 1 & 2 [not the 3rd one]) is a fine example of what every superhero genre film needs to be. It had a great story line and amazing action scenes along with a great cast. Robert Downey Jr. was an excellent choice to play Tony Stark. I also enjoy how Marvel is making these movies with a thought out plan connecting this film with other superhero films' creating a franchise unlike anything has been seen in the movie business.

Captain America: The First Avenger

Captain America: The First Avenger is a great solid origin story. When it came to Marvel superheroes I never really cared for Captain America; Iron Man and Thor were my top favorite of the Marvel roster. With that said I have to admit that this film was very entertaining and enjoyable. The story line was great with some action thrown in -- but not a whole lot, and Chris Evans and the rest of the cast were awesome. This film was a great addition to the new Marvel Cinematic Universe that Marvel is creating.

The Three Musketeers

I really enjoyed the movie. The action scenes were great, and the special effects were pretty sweet to look at. The story line however, it felt a little weak and it could have been better. Nonetheless, I was still entertained. A good watch.

Coming from a guy who doesn't mind seeing chick flicks; it wasn't that bad, but also very predictable.

The Hunger Games

Taking a step back and comparing this film to other films based off of books (Harry Potter; Twilight); I would have to say The Hunger Games turned out to be a better enjoyable film then those other two series. While I felt like the story line at the beginning of the film was lacking a bit, the acting was much better than anything I have seen in the other series. Once "The Hunger Games" started in the film is when the movie started to pick up a bit in my opinion and after the film was over it got me intrigued to see what happens next in the next two films. Overall, I have seen better films so far this year in 2012, but I also have seen much worse than this and I enjoyed The Hunger Games.

Safe

Safe is your typical Jason Statham movie, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The action scenes were all very well done but as for the story line; that kind of took a backseat in the film just like any other Statham film. The action scenes were enough for me to stay entertained throughout the film. Enjoy it for what it is and you'll have fun watching it.

American Wedding

As with the characters in this film, American Wedding is more grown up then the previous two films. It's less raunchy, and more heart filled than its predecessors. Missing from American Wedding is half the cast from the first two films without a mention to them in the film, but the film still remains to have its hilarious moments without them. Stifler, has a bigger role in this film, while others take a back seat this time. I enjoyed watching Stifler and Finch swap roles trying to win over Michelle's sister. It was enjoyable and entertaining, a nice end to the original trilogy.

Mission: Impossible

Mission: Impossible has your average typical spy film story line. For a late 90's film the action scenes weren't that bad and some of the special effects seemed impressive for a film of this age. Mission: Impossible proves that you can make a great movie out of a television series. For a classic of a film this came to be, it was pretty entertaining to watch; which says a lot because I don't like watching old films. On top of all that, the Mission: Impossible (with the exception of Mission: Impossible II) sequels that follow get better and better which is rare in a film franchise.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

I must say I thought Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter was really entertaining for the most part. I thought the film did really well in mixing real history with fiction. I actually went into the movie with low expectations and expected mindless action and it turned out to be a fun film to watch which possibly helped to enjoy the film even more. The action scenes were excellent and the cast and acting wasn't half bad.

Ted

This film was really hilarious! Never have I laughed so much during a film at the theater before. Ted has what you would expect from an adult comedy - raunchy fun. Seth MacFarlane did a great job on his first big screen film. Besides its great points, I felt like the ending was a little weak and it was somewhat predictable but I guess all films are now; still a solid good comedy to watch.
