Crank: High Voltage

Although this sequel to Crank is entertaining in its own way, it was pretty much the same as the first one with just a few changes here and there. In an attempt to raise the bar for craziest and nuttiest action movie out there they up the ante on the gory violence and added these quirky interruptions like a Godzilla like fight scene and an interview type afternoon show like Jerry Springer periodicity throughout the film. I wasn't a fan of the latter addition. While it kept the same format from the first film, Crank: High Voltage slowed down just a little bit on the thrill ride compared to its predecessor. As I said at the start Crank: High Voltage was still entertaining in its own way; I had a lot of fun watching it. Hopefully they can make a third film some day.

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift

I have to admit, when I first watched The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift I hated it. None of the casts from the first two films are in the third one except for one actor who only shows up in the last ten seconds of the film in a cameo role. On top that the acting was much worse than the previous films and the story line was more lame and boring as well. It wasn't until after I got to see Tokyo Drift's successor Fast and Furious when it hit theaters that I found a new sense of appreciation for Tokyo Drift because of Kang's "Han" which gave the feeling that Tokyo Drift felt like it belong in the franchise whereas before it felt like it didn't... to me at least. Still with my new sense of appreciation Tokyo Drift still is the weak link in the franchise.

Real Steel

Good fun movie to rent. I didn't love it, but I also didn't hate it either.

In Time

Not the greatest film, but the interesting concept and a solid good cast kept me engaged through the whole movie. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would have been. The story line isn't as horrible as most people make it out to be; it could have been better I agree, but I have seen worst than this. I didn't feel like I needed to steal time to get back what I used up watching this, it was a good rental.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen had well... fallen from its predecessor. Bay's signature action scenes are there but wasn't a great as those from the first film. Despite the subpar story line from the first film Revenge of the Fallen had a much poorer plot line. Also I couldn't stand the Autobot Twins, every time they were on the screen I would just want to fast forward through it. They annoyed me that much along with Sam's new college roommate which I think shouldn't have been in the film. This sequel to Transformers despite its flaws still was entertaining enough to keep my attention.

Gone in Sixty Seconds

Although Gone in 60 Seconds is one of Cage's better films in my opinion I felt this film was very slow at starting up. In fact the whole first half of the film fells boring most times. It's not until when the mid marker starts when it starts to pull my intention back into the film as they start stealing the cars. Also some of the acting from some of the cast seemed like a joke at times.

War

It was awesome to see Statham and Li together in the same movie, they both worked well with each other. While the action in War was top-notch and amazing, the overall plot of the film was just subpar. By saying subpar I mean that the plot was interesting, fun, and entertaining to follow through most of the movie until about 10 minutes left of the film when the final main twist is shown and then my interest is lost quickly and I no longer was having any fun. I was very disappointed in how the movie ended. I believe that an ending helps make most of the movie. If the ending fails, that bad feeling you feel after you leave the theater will cloud how great the rest of the film actually was, thus overall downgrading how you enjoyed yourself watching that movie.

The Incredible Hulk
The Adjustment Bureau

This film has a surprisingly decent story line and was very entertaining and interesting to watch. The cast in this film turned out great performances. It felt fresh and original; a good concept. I really enjoyed this film.

Safe House

The only good part about this movie was that it had Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. Don't get me wrong, I liked the film. I thought the action scenes were really entertaining and loved every minute of them, but I didn't think this movie was as great as Denzel's other films like "Inside Man", and "Unstoppable". I also thought "Déjà Vu" and "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" were better than this.

Wrath of the Titans

The first film Clash of the Titans like most films that has a sequel is better than this film. I felt like Wrath of the Titans was just an OK movie. It wasn't great, and it wasn't awful either. I never saw Clash of the Titans in 3D so I can't comment on the difference in 3D effects between the two; special effects had improved though. The story line in the film felt boring to me at times, and it could have used a couple of more action scenes in there.

The Bourne Legacy

I was kind of disappointed with this film. It seemed like to me they substituted action scenes for more dialogue. I am though a fan of Renner and love most of the movies he has been in; he is definitely making his way to become a super action star. With that said his Aaron Cross is no Jason Bourne and because of this I felt the film was missing something great. You really can't do a Bourne film without Damon's Jason Bourne in it, it just isn't the same. While the action was geared down in favor for the story, I also felt the plot line was a little weak as well and wasn't compelling as the original trilogy.

Colombiana

Colombiana is a decent revenge film. The action scenes were alight, not great; I have seen better. This movie was better than I thought it would be. It was worth the rental.

Immortals

The story line in this film was lacking, but the fight scenes and special effects were amazing. It didn't live up to my expectations that I thought this film was going to be, which was a disappointment, but it wasn't as bad as a lot of the bad reviews here make it out to be. Freida Pinto was drop dead beautiful, and I can see Henry Cavill was a good choice now to be Superman in the next Man of Steel movie.

Tower Heist

Tower Heist was a solid good (not great) entertaining film. It could have been better, but wasn't. I wasn't expecting this to be top of the line awesome. It's kind of like Ocean's 11 but with slightly more comedy and a weaker clever story line. It was great seeing Eddie Murphy not in a kid's film and sharing screen time with Ben Stiller, and Matthew Broderick with Casey Affleck.

The Hangover Part II

This film was essentially The Hangover with just a number added at the end of the title and placed in a different city. It was almost an identical copy of the first. There was only a couple of scenes in this movie that made me laugh; nothing really special. With that said, even though it had a recycled plot it was entertaining to watch somewhat; yet at the same time it was easily forgettable after words.

Mission: Impossible II

The first sequel to the Mission: Impossible film series turns up the heat on the action and romance, and chills the story line way down. The second Mission: Impossible felt like it has a lot missing and the weakest film in the whole series thus far. With its flaws, Mission: Impossible II still kept me entertained enough with the ramped up action scenes until the credits started to roll. Overall, it wasn't that bad; just wasn't great either.

The Expendables
The Hurt Locker

I thought the movie was over rated, over hyped. I found myself a little bored watching some of the film. I have seen much better war movies than this. I read another reviewers comment, he said "...first 10 minutes are good the rest the same". He was actually right nothing really changes. The story line was weak. There is no way this film should have deserved the Oscars they received.

Hollywood Homicide

This is a story about two police detectives in Hollywood. One detective works as a real estate agent on the side. The other teaches yoga while pursuing an acting career. This tale sounded promising for an action-comedy mix film to me, but for Hollywood Homicide it fell short. As far as the comedy part goes there was only one scene that got me to laugh in the whole movie, the scene in which the main leads are being interrogated by IA. Everything else was just "bla". While this tale was an interesting take as an action-comedy style film the overall plot felt boring too.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I never really watched the first three films, only bits and pieces here and there so I can't really compare. I did think the ending was a bit over board to have in this franchise.

Rush Hour 3

This movie wasn't as great or funny has the first two films, but nevertheless it was enjoyable to watch.

Spider-Man 3

I wanted to love this movie so much, but I just cant. As much as the action scenes where great, there where to many slow moments. Those moments where you can quickly go grab a refill on that pop, or use the bathroom and know your not missing anything important.

Knocked Up

Wasn't as great or funny as the 40 Year Old Virgin, but it was funny nonetheless.

Conan the Barbarian

Had good special effects, was lightly entertaining, and had a bad story line. Despite the latter two of the three, I have seen worst films then this. I only gave it an extra star because of the lead actor from Stargate Atlantis and for the bad story line this movie had I was a little shocked that the special effects were at least decent (not great, but decent).

The Sitter

The Sitter wasn't laugh out loud funny, and it had a typical story line you would expect from a film like this. This is definitely not Jonah Hill's best movie. Though he does try in this film, it just wasn't good enough.

London Boulevard

The only good thing about this film was the cast, mainly Farrell, Knightley, Winstone and Thewlis. These four did their best in their performances but failed in the end; I blame the bad script given to them. This film really disappointed me and the story loved to wander around so much that it was losing my interest; and the ending? That ending was the second worst ending I have seen in a movie after True Grit (the 2010 remake).

The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption

This was a horrible movie from start to finish. It had bad action scenes, horrible acting, and the plot was just awful. You can just tell by watching the movie that hardly any money went into this film. This was a complete waste of talent. It was also a huge waste of my time.

This movie was pointless. The whole time while I was seeing this I kept looking at my cellphone counting down the time when the movie was over.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

I'm a little confused on what I just saw. I have a hard time hating superhero films because I love them all, despite the fact that Superman Returns and Green Lantern was awful I tried to find some kind of entertainment out of them, but Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance was just horrible. I'm a fan of both Crank films, but I don't believe the directors of those films should have been the directors of Ghost Rider 2. Their filming technique doesn't mix well for a superhero film. On top of the bad directing of the film, I felt like the story line was complete garage. Even more so, only 3D showings of the movie was playing in my area, I would have had to drive out of my county if I wanted to see it in 2D, so I didn't have much of a choice, but if you do decide to see it, don't see it in 3D if you have the choice, it was bad.
