The premise is very appealing especially for a Christmas movie, but everything else unfortunately falls short. I had hopes for this one as "European", especially Scandinavian humor usually has a darker edge with almost no second-hand embarrasment compared to US comedies, but this could easily pass as the latter. Even if it's based on true events and they had happened like this, the filmmakers could have altered some things to be...better. (And if this is the altered version, they didn't do such a great job.)
Now I really want to watch a Scandinavian×Indian family introduction movie that is witty and good
I wanted to like this movie, but the main couple has no chemistry , I liked the ending :full_moon_with_face:
I’m not a big Christmas film fan but I’m surprised ive only just got around watching this one because it sure made me giggle and it’s got a lovely message and great cast.
It started off good and wholesome then it quickly jumped the shark. It was nice to see some familiar faces but it just wasn't enough in the end.
This movie is completely bizarre. It’s kind of charming that Netflix makes larger budget Hallmark movies. Heather Graham is completely miscast with a unhinged, who gives a shit performance and maybe that is the exact right choice?
A really great film, wish I could find more movies like this that just hit every emotion. It's a feel good movie that hits emotional elements also very funny, good romance, and great music.
Totally awesome Adam Sandler film! Christopher McDonald rocks as Shooter McGavin. Never get tired of this movie!
"You're in big trouble though, pal. I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast!"
You would think this is still loved mainly because of nostalgia, but no! It has so many memorable quotes and characters and it just hits right. Shooter McGavin is the best!
I had no idea a good, scratch that… great Top Gun could ever be made but I was wrong. A good story with tense action, emotions and amazing cinematography with some of the coolest shots I’ve ever seen. I also think this is Tom Cruises best performance to date. Hats of to the director for not making it cheesy.
This is just a movie about a movie about a play about a play. And that's where the disappointment lies.
There's no arch. No heroes or foes. No obstacles to overcome. Nothing gets solved, and there's no real payoff. It's just a story within a story within a story and you the audience is expected to marvel at how terribly clever it is. It's incredible clever. But it's not very watchable.
Ultimately it's just a series of scenes, one after another, that you don't care about.
one of the movies that you don't want to re-watch because it makes you so uncomfortable, although the topic is (sadly) still as relevant today as it's 10+ years ago. The ending had so many flaws and didn't convince me at all. Aside from that, the best part is hands down the actors which both are my favourite - I found myself entranced by Elliot! Absolutely terrific performance and I'll keep on watching everything they appear in.
Honestly Gyllenhaal nailed his role. What an insane take on a lifestyle that is actually some peoples job. Well done movie
Jake Gyllenhaal is mesmerizing as Louis Bloom, the thief who stumbled upon the wonderful world of TV news. Louis is sympathetic and despicable. Is he the pro or antagonist? He's criminal and hero at once. The things he does are rotten. He's so weird and dysfunctional, yet smart and manipulative. One thing is for certain, he's a seriously neat character.
Rick (Riz Ahmed) is the guy that you really want to pull for. He's Louis's first employee and pathetically naive. Until the final act, when he actually manages to manipulate Louis. Nothing is really as it seems here. This is a fun, tense film that will keep you guessing and entertained.
started very slowly but if you make it through the start, it's quite good!
The scene where Paddington cries... Illegal
Rambo: First Blood Part II is a film that knows exactly what it is and doesn't apologize for it. It's a brash, loud, and explosive action flick that delivers exactly what it promises: mindless entertainment with a patriotic heart. If you're in the mood for some good old-fashioned, gun-toting, explosion-fest with a touch of emotional resonance, then strap yourself in and enjoy the ride.
"To survive a war, you gotta become war.
The scene were Rambo, as a prisoner, tells Murdock he's coming to get him, is the stuff I love in action movies. Such a bad ass scene!
Anyway, seeing Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) hiding in the mud to kill someone, blast the shit out of someone with a arrow with a exploding tip, murdering tons of bad guys and being a great shirtless red band wearing one-man army is just fun to watch. We even get a guy that is so scared of Rambo he just jumps out of the helicopter when Rambo approaches him. We never get to see if he even had a parachute on. I want to believe he didn't have one.
I'm still baffled the direction First Blood Part II took after the amazing First Blood. He kills no one in the first part but Rambo thought by the time part II hit, hold my beer.
Yeah, Rambo: First Blood Part II was a fun rewatch and it is the Rambo everyone pictures when thinking about the guy.
Imagine trying to make a Coen Brothers movie on your own. You would have colorful characters, a weird situation or misunderstanding, and a fair amount of violence. And that would be the absolutely minimum of what you would expect. Well, in this movie, that is about as much as you are going to get. Coens-lite? Derivative of Coens? It felt like there was a better movie in there but it just missed on so many levels. I kept waiting for it to kick in, but it never did. Margaret Qually (whom I first fell in love with in Sanctuary) gives it her all while playing a southern lesbian, but that isn't enough to carry this film. It really is a mess.

This is not as bad as some people claim it is. A fun little flick that doesn't reinvent the wheel but it would be a lie to say that it didn't entertain me over it's pleasant 80 minutes. You can have a good time, but probably forget about it in a few weeks - but that's fine. Films like this one are needed from time to time.
I was really losing interest until about 30 minutes in when the AMAZING dance battle took place. And suddenly I was 100% back in
Sweet Jesus! haha What a glorious mess. On top of having one of the greatest titles of all time, this movie goes soo far to up the dance-stakes as to feature a dance fight complete with nunchucks and trashcan-lid-shields. If you thought the first one was absurd, well this one has these young ruffians defeating bulldozers with dance. Yup.
Michael Shannon's acting is amazing (as always).
I love the atmosphere of the movie and how intense it is.
One of my favorite movies!
I started it on Netflix because I didn't know what to watch and... I'm surprised.
This film is fantastic. I am speechless.
it was a fantastic film. A little bit like Melancholia in some ways. I would love to have seen an alternative ending whereby when Curtis opens the Shelter doors. All you see is destruction proving he is not mad. THE END.. I just think the build up to him opening the doors would have been more satisfying. I have great respect for Michael Shannon, he was fantastic in Revolutionary road. I have also been following the career of Jessica Chastain since Jolene...and i can see a few oscars for these two in the future.
Good action flick. Went exactly as expected but you can't expect too much from a film like this. The Rock is on point as always, he's really doing great lately. There are a few scenes that if you're afraid of heights (and watching it in 3D as I did) you might clutch your chest a bit.
Looking past how they blatantly suck up to the Chinese market, Skyscraper is actually engaging enough to keep me interested all the way through. Not much to the story, but the action and suspense are there. If you are into action for action's sake, this might be for you.
Action-filled, entertaining and a bit cheesy. All I expected from this movie. A very pleasant viewing experience!
That Game of Thrones joke was glorious. Hardest I laughed at a movie scene all year.
