Joffrey was a coward. And apparently, Tommen is also a coward. How does he simply allow his queen to be taken prisoner with men there who could protect her? Silly boy.
I hate Ramsay Bolton. I think I hate him even more than I hated Joffrey. Sansa has been through so much... She didn't deserve this.
Tyrion coming across Drogon for the first time is one of the best moments of the season. I always get goosebumps at his reaction. Then we still have this tense sequence with the Stone Men... Poor Jorah...
Highlight for the dialogue between Jon and Maester Aemon that defines the episode title.
Jaime and Bronn have a fun dynamic together. I liked their scenes.
I can only feel a lot of HATE for Cersei giving power to these extremists and how she pretends she doesn't know anything ... Now the war between her and Margaery reaches its peak.
Ser Barristan fought bravely in that final sequence.
I feel bad for Sansa. She has already suffered so much with Joffrey and Cersei. Now she’s going to have to marry and get involved with people who are directly linked to the death of her family. Ramsay is even more sadistic than Joffrey. I think he’s even more cruel, perhaps. She didn’t deserve this.
I get goosebumps with Jon being elected Lord Commander. This scene got even better, too, by Sam making fun of Slynt in front of everyone.
Daenerys tied up... So Tyrion needs to arrive urgently. She needs some "light" to rule, and he can provide it for her.
It's so irritating the pleasure that Stannis, his wife and Melisandre show in front of people being burned alive. Jon Snow did the right thing under the circumstances. Despite the friction, Mance didn't deserve to die in agony.
Tyrion’s pain when he killed Shae... I hated her. He really fell in love, she didn’t. Tywin’s death is also among the most iconic moments of this show. Not only for the dialogue that culminates in the arrows, which for me is absolutely fantastic, but for the context of the situation: the all-powerful, noble, wealthy Tywin Lannister murdered in a toilet.
Brienne’s fight with the Hound was so brutal and violent. An interesting curiosity about Arya: in seasons 2, 3 and 4, her last line in the last episode was “Valar Morghulis”.
Best season of the series so far.
Another emblematic episode. I am fascinated with the details of this battle of the Wall. Incredible soundtrack. Everything worked perfectly.
I'm sorry about Pyp. He didn't have much importance, but I liked him. And I'm sorry for Ygritte... She was living in conflict. If she had no feelings for Jon Snow, perhaps she wouldn't have died there.
Oberyn swam to die on the beach. Just the sound of his skull bursting through the hands of the Mountain is something to traumatize me for the rest of my life, the image of his head shattered, so... No matter how many times I watch this scene, it always leaves me disturbed and impressed. If only you had been straightforward, Oberyn... You didn't have to die, and Tyrion wouldn't be put to death either. If only you hadn't been distracted by your thirst for revenge.
These GOT cliffhangers always take my breath away. And for me it is very satisfying to see that smile disappear from Lysa’s annoying face before flying out of the Moon Door.
Highlight for Tyrion and Oberyn’s dialogue. Cersei has been monstrous since she was a child. This woman is despicable. Who knew Oberyn would have the perfect opportunity to take his revenge right now. Iconic is the moment when he declares that he’ll be Tyrion’s champion.
One of the most emblematic episodes of Game of Thrones. Peter Dinklage absurdly flawless in each of the words he said during the last scene. You really are capable of feeling Tyrion’s disappointment and hatred.
For a second, Sansa thought she’d be safe. Just for a second. Lysa is completely crazy, and this episode makes it clear that Baelish really is an untrustworthy person. He’s very intelligent and strategist. Therefore, extremely dangerous. Sansa must not trust him.
Arya will be upset when she finds out that Joffrey is dead and she wasn’t the one who killed him.
I really wish Bran had spoken to Jon...
Olenna is a giant character. Her plan, conceived with Baelish, was thorough, too clever and worked perfectly. I only regret Tyrion's situation. As he said: if the real killer confesses, presenting concrete evidence, Cersei won't miss the chance to accuse and kill her own brother. She is blind with hatred, and this is ironic because the killer is on the loose.
I want Joffrey Baratheon’s killer to be found so that this person receives all the glory and admiration of an entire nation.
I’ve hated soooo many countless characters over the years, among so many shows I have watched. And I’ve been happy with the death of these hateful characters before. But I think that none of these scenes gives me as much satisfaction as Joffrey Baratheon’s death, no matter how many times I watch it, the reaction is always the same: the most genuine happiness. GO TO HELL, JOFFREY BARATHEON!
This episode is another milestone for Game of Thrones. Perfect in every detail and with one of the best and most exciting twists ever seen.
It’s incredible to see Arya’s evolution. She has already abandoned her morality, now she just wants revenge. And that last scene with Polliver was awesome.
Excellent start to the season.
Daenerys, I chose to love you. The series' producers know how to impact at the end of a season.
“All men should keep their word, kings most of all.”
I love it when Tyrion confronts Joffrey. Tyrion, by the way, is the only good thing among the Lannisters. Sansa, after all, was very lucky to marry him. If the marriage were to Joffrey, she would undoubtedly suffer much more.
Jaime’s narrative arc is really impressive. The most curious thing is that we don’t really know why we are empathizing with him. The important thing is that this period that Jaime spent with Brienne was enough to make him evolve as a human being, and the dynamic between them is special.
The boy who’s torturing Theon is pure evil. He likes to be mean and takes advantage of it. He’s terrifying.
Jon Snow’s climb was so tense! He and Ygritte were very lucky, and their last scene was visually very beautiful.
“Once again, I came to the king, begging him to surrender. He told me to bring him my father’s head. Then he turned to his pyromancer. ‘Burn them all’, he said. ‘Burn them in their homes. Burn them in their beds’. Tell me, if your precious Renly commanded you to kill your own father and stand by while thousands of men, women, and children burned alive, would you have done it? Would you have kept your oath then?”
We have never seen Jaime Lannister so vulnerable. The development of this character here is remarkable. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is impeccable.
I’m so pissed off at Robb’s stupidity. I don’t even have words.
“My real father lost his head at King’s Landing. I made a choice... and I chose wrong. And now I’ve burned everything down.”
This is where I start feeling really sorry for Theon.
The final scene with Daenerys Targaryen is so imposing! One of my favorite moments in the entire series. She really is the fucking queen.
A Lannister's agony means my joy. I could feel sorry for Jaime, but then I remember that he tried to kill Bran and left him physically disabled for life. No pity here.
“Jon Snow. When my husband brought that baby home from the war, I couldn’t bear to look at him, didn’t want to see those brown stranger’s eyes staring at me. So I prayed to the gods ‘Take him away, make him die’. He got the pox and I knew I was the worst woman who ever lived. A murderer. I’d condemned this poor, innocent child to a horrible death all because I was jealous of his mother, a woman he didn’t even know! So I prayed to all Seven Gods ‘Let the boy live. Let him live and I’ll love him. I’ll be a mother to him. I’ll beg my husband to give him a true name, to call him Stark and be done with it, to make him one of us’. And he lived. And I couldn’t keep my promise. And everything that’s happened since then, all this horror that’s come to my family... it’s all because I couldn’t love a motherless child.”
The scorn and cruelty of Tywin's words to Tyrion are impressive. Tyrion is the only worthy person within that family, everyone else is below him. He deserved better.
Joffrey ran under Cersei's skirt during the battle, and he is the one who decides who gets honors. Pathetic. I hate the Lannisters.
Grand finale for a great season.
This episode is aesthetically fantastic. All the action of the fire sequence consuming the ships, soundtrack, cinematography. Impeccable. Tyrion cemented his importance as a man, and also for the series' narrative. He won the war. And before I forget: fuck the king, that damn coward.
A little love in the midst of chaos and war. Tyrion and Robb have something to lose. Whoever doesn't (or at least doesn't think so), acts like Joffrey. Stannis Baratheon's terror. LMAO.
Cersei being honest with Tyrion was one of the best scenes in this episode. One of the few moments that she really showed vulnerability.
