For me, this episode is on par with “Bang!” and “Something’s Coming”, as the best tragedies ones of the show. I’m always drooling over the construction of the script, the rising tension, the anxiety, the fear. To the climax it is by far one of the most impressive sequels Desperate Housewives has delivered to date.

First we have the individual situations, starting with Gaby... I can’t feel much anger at Juanita for the push she gave her mother, although she was strong. After all, since Grace came into their lives, she’s noticed that Gaby has an unusual fondness for the girl. Apart from that she noticed that since her departure, her mother has been sad, crying in the corners. She had already questioned that Gaby loved Grace more, and that was before she knew the truth. Imagine knowing? She’s a child, I can’t even imagine how upsetting it must be – in this whole story, it’s Juanita I feel the most pity for. Anyway, Gaby’s despair was agonizing as she searched for the girl amidst the chaos, even more so when everything got out of hand and people started running, pushing, stomping. Heavy. I love it hard when Gaby finds Juanita and knocks the man off the car like that. Now I hope the Solis can handle this situation in the best way possible.

Susan has already revealed that she knows about Tom and Renee’s past affair. And that Renee has feelings for him to this day. Again, I don’t think it’s bad that she wants to tell Lynette, because this Renee situation is pretty serious. If it was at least a case from 20 years ago, nothing more, I think she might try to brush it off. But knowing that she still has feelings involved, it’s complicated. Renee is conscious when she’s sober, but she gets impulsive drunk, as you can see. So right? But I have to say that I enjoyed seeing Renee all worried and looking for Susan when she saw that she disappeared amidst the chaos. This image of Susan lying on the floor after being trampled leaves me with my heart in my hand. Poor thing. So many bad things have happened to her this season, she didn’t need one more.

Keith is wonderful and I am frustrated that he allowed his father’s ridiculous ideas to enter his head. The whole time this worm Richard was trying to sabotage his son’s relationship, what a rage! Apart from that moment when he tried to grab Bree by force inside the house, saying that she “misread the signs”. I can’t deal with the excuses of these types of people. In fact, this situation was really reflexive. A few minutes earlier, Bree had found herself in trouble with the invading ex-con who didn’t want to leave, only chose to do so when he realized she wasn’t alone. And then she is harassed by someone who has been invited into the house. Makes you think... In addition: it was very tense Keith beating his father, and even more, him being mistaken for an ex-con just because of his clothes and tattoos (something else to reflect on) and being brutally beaten. Even Bree was pushed. But if it hadn’t been for her and that gun, what would have become of him? Although it was because of the shot she fired that the despair began.

Which brings us to the riot and Paul’s plan. I think his plan is amazing, very well calculated, ingenious and efficient. He did exactly what he said he would do: he pitted neighbor against neighbor with almost nothing. He was smart enough to send Mitzy away so he could have the opportunity to lie to Lee and get the last house he needed. And in the end, with the opening of the Correctional Center, he let that Fairview neighborhood show its most violent and prejudiced side. At this point, the dialogue Lynette had with Parker moments before the riot started is critical. After all, if no neighborhood can accept ex-convicts who have already served their time and are looking for a fresh start, where should they go? And how can they socialize again, live in society, if they are seen with so much prejudice by other people? Seriously, Desperate Housewives was SIR in this whole discussion. That’s why this episode is so rich, heavy, and important.

Finally: I really love this cliffhanger. Paul in the middle of the night bragging about having managed to destroy Wisteria Lane that way and receives a shot in the chest as thanks. The question now remains: who shot Paul Young?

Once again, the time has come to say goodbye to these characters, women who have profoundly marked my life, in a way that perhaps cannot be explained. Only I know the impact Desperate Housewives had and still has on me. The series that opened the door for me to other series. That made me laugh and lifted my spirits in soooo many moments. That moved me for many reasons. And that taught me many things... I love this ending intensely. For me, it’s a wonderful and coherent celebration.

Her lives were indeed changed forever. For Lynette, with this irrefutable job offer from Katherine Mayfair – I love that she reappears, today I see that she is quite hated by many people, but I always liked the character even when she freaked out there in season 6. Who knew her life had turned out this way, man? The woman became a millionaire... And she even gave Lynette her dream job. She has ALWAYS aspired to reach the presidency of some company, it has always been her goal. And just when she thought those doors had all closed, behold... Another thing I love is that they bring that actress who played Natalie in 1x01 back, in the same supermarket, to give Lynette an incentive to accept the job. This scene was very nostalgic and was a great homage to the beginning of the show.

The inopportune time for Julie to go into labor!!! I laugh so hard in this entire sequence, it was so priceless. Renee freaking out since before getting into the limo, then having her dress ruined and complaining about the girl’s contractions. Susan made the best expressions! The scene in the store was great. Renee’s second dress was even prettier than the first, to be honest. And Susan pulling off the limo and leaving the bride on foot!! But I feel sorry for Renee for these inconveniences. Everything ends well, but can you imagine how awful the bride having to change her dress in a hurry and then having to walk who knows how far to the buffet? Poor thing! Her freak out when Ben met her at the door, another priceless moment.

By the way, the wedding decor was beautiful and I’m in love with Lynette’s speech at the toasts. At first glance, unusual. Her talking about people forgetting about love after they get married. But then, as she added, it got so real and touching. “To remembering”.

Gaby and Carlos reversing roles! I LOVE IT. Him realizing the diamond watch trick. Then her reaction when she saw the new gardener. By the way, Carmen is a character from Devious Maids, a series that Marc Cherry created as soon as Desperate Housewives ended - it’s as if the series were mother and daughter and we can consider this moment a crossover! Anyway, Carlos and Gaby talking honestly about how they don’t want to go back to being those two selfish petty people who only devalue themselves all the time... What a moment!

I can’t hold back my tears when Wonderful Wonderful starts playing, marking the birth of Julie and Porter’s daughter, and the death of Karen McCluskey... This scene is beautiful and poetic. A full life ends, a new one begins. On one side, two families happy with the arrival of another human being. On the other, a stunned husband, with the pain of grief, a friend crying and being comforted... The cycle of life, isn’t it? That’s how it works...

The individual outcomes for me are all wonderful. Lynette, as the episode had already shown, becoming president of a company... Leading a full life with Tom, for the rest of their days. And always yelling at kids. She could never get rid of it anyway! Gaby went far. She got that job quite unusually, as a saleswoman, and eventually became famous, host of a fashion show and all. And with Carlos’ support all the way... Bree was the biggest surprise. I never imagined that she would one day enter politics. I just wanted her to be a Democrat. But anyway, great that she has found happiness once again with a man who truly values and respects her.

And Susan’s ending for me was as coherent as possible. Considering the tragedy that befell their lives, it was expected that she would move out of the house and try to start over somewhere else, close to her daughter, her granddaughter. With a possibility of becoming romantically involved with someone. Why not? But if she doesn’t, she’ll spend the rest of her days with memories of a very full and happy life.

The value that each of them has in me is indescribable. I won’t repeat myself, but I really love the individual development and transformation they’ve had over these 180 episodes. With ups and downs, moments of joy, moments of nervousness. But with an extremely positive, exciting and remarkable balance. Bree, Lynette, Susan, Gaby, Edie, Katherine, Renee, and so many other wonderful, inspiring characters... I just thank you! Thank you for everything! For every moment, for every episode...

Again I leave my “see you later” to Wisteria Lane. At some future time, we will meet again. See you ladies soon.

Man, I don’t think there was any way around that call from Bree to Ben. Even if they managed to come up with an excuse, analogy, metaphor for her saying with all the letters that she had buried a body, that she had a bad conscience, etc etc. Never that the jury would buy this. Even without a reason to supposedly have committed such a crime, it would doom her. It was Renee’s statement, claiming that she saw Bree with a shovel in the middle of the night, when Alejandro disappeared from the world for good.

Renee’s attitude, by the way, always makes me strange. I understand that she was terrified of losing Ben, and I can try to understand her frustration at being left out of this whole thing – although it was obviously for the best. But I think she was very inconsequential, because the trial was supposed to decide the rest of Bree’s life. After what she said, she showed no regrets, she even said that she “made the right choice” by putting Ben before them. I’m kind of upset about it, as much as I’m glad it all works out for her in the end.

I have fun with Trip giving Bree that kiss and her throwing the truth in his face right away, without a second thought. His kiss activated another side of her. The moments of that trial were all tense and harrowing, especially when Gaby was called to testify again and started talking about Ramon Sanchez being her stepfather, Alejandro – and the scene’s score always makes it even more emotional, it was on point. It is difficult to analyze here. Because on the one hand it’s Gaby and she ran a real risk of being arrested right there, if the questioning went further, I think she would open up. On the other hand, Trip was doing his job: defending the client from the prosecution... Bree later thinking that he gave that kiss just to manipulate her into telling him everything was sad. But I understand her frustration over this. Until the end she honored the promise she made to her friends and continued to protect Gaby and Carlos. A friend like that is for few...

And there we have the climax of the trial! Who would have thought that Karen McCluskey would be responsible for putting an end to it all? That at some point, she would get directly involved in the main plot, even more so at this point? The scene was amazing with her screaming that she took the candlestick and killed the bastard! As I said: friendship... Friendship is everything! And it was wonderful what she said before “confessing” to this crime, about how on Wisteria Lane there is a complicity, loyalty, and need for protection among the residents. The purest reality. It was a very noble act of hers, for it was risky. The prosecution could proceed with the complaint. But luckily they left it aside because of her health condition and old age and she’ll be able to go home, enjoy her last days with Roy... Anyway, wonderful. Karen is the queen of this episode and no one can disagree.

The hug of relief between Bree, Lynette, Susan and Gaby when she was cleared of all charges. MY GIRLS!

And the end... Forever one of the most touching scenes of the series. Roy is very wise when he gets inspired and everything he said to Tom was beautiful and true. Tom taking his words and deciding to declare at once the love he feels for Lynette... Damn! In fact, it was so well written and constructed that you really forget how ridiculous he was this entire season. But Lynette and Tom are a couple for life. With all the mishaps, flaws of both, immaturity... Things we already know. Even with all this, they always found a way to get back to each other, to overcome difficulties. I always admired that. Seeing them getting back together after this period, which by far was the most complicated for them as a couple, is quite a satisfaction. “You you you...”.

My heart can’t take another goodbye...

Any doubts that Trip is the best man that came into Bree’s life along with Keith? We can’t forget the little king who only did her good and made her rediscover many things. Anyway, Bree freaking out out of jealousy and offending the girl just because of the cleavage was funny. Even more so when she went to apologize and got in the way of her work investigating that guy. But I think she is wrong. Trip has a keen interest in the case, but it’s clear he has “something else” going on with Bree. Which lawyer shows up at the client’s house on the eve of the trial with donuts and a movie, in the middle of the night? Well, that says a LOT.

Susan’s decision to move was already expected, right? Since what happened with Mike. That house is really full of memories of him, apart from that it was the place where he was murdered. Like it or not, whenever she crosses the threshold of the front door, she will see his body there, bleeding, lifeless... This is too hard for anyone. I didn’t want to, my dream would be to see all the characters getting old on Wisteria Lane. But her decision is understandable, it has basis. Apart from that it is of great help to Julie as well. It will allow her to go back to college, get her degree, etc etc.

Porter is compromised. I felt sorry for him when he talked about working three shifts, and it still wasn’t enough. The effort he is making to raise money in his daughter’s name is admirable. And I always have fun with him passing out as soon as he looks at the birth video.

Gregg is a man, right? Soon the gene “asshole” is impregnated in him. Until then he had a keen interest in Lynette. He started to harm Tom because of some tips she gave him. And he wanted her to have sex with him in exchange for revoking the decision to send him to India... Only to later speak ill of her with such meanness to people who have never even seen her. That’s why I love Tom punching the worm in the face for calling her a “bitch” like that, shamelessly. And all out of frustration, since she didn’t give him a chance to think they were going to bed at some point. Anyway, finally Tom also decided to open up to Jane. I confess that I even felt sorry for her this time, because I believe that she had feelings for him, she gave herself completely to this relationship and he let himself be carried away on a pure whim. But the important thing is that it’s over! And now the way is clear. It’s Tom who really has to go after Lynette, as she’s already gone to great lengths for him this season and has always been treated with indifference. My only regret is that just when he decided to take that step to make things right, he ran into that image of her undressing with a man present. He couldn’t see it was Lee...

From the beginning, Gaby was selfish in Alejandro’s situation. When the thing happened, I understood the despair she felt, the possibility of having her family destroyed, Carlos arrested for murder, etc etc. But now, her indifference to Bree’s sacrifice is unwarranted. She’s sure Bree won’t be convicted because she’s “innocent,” but the prosecution is firm on the case. And even in that ending where she goes and thanks what Bree is doing, I thought it was selfish. Because we’re talking about a person’s life. Like Trip said, Bree could go from 20 to life, if not worse. And she didn’t kill anyone... It’s not fair!

And about the trial, I’m finding it strange that Trip doesn’t hit the obvious argument key: motivation. There is no reason for Bree to have killed Ramon Sanchez because there is no connection between them other than this SUPPOSITION that she attacked him. There is no evidence that she is crazy, or a psychopath. Being an alcoholic doesn’t mean she’s a criminal, as that disgraceful prosecutor wanted to show. So... I just know it’s tense there. The letter really complicated things because it makes it clear that she is hiding something and almost killed herself for it. Then...

Next episode is the beginning of the end of EVERYTHING. I’m not ready (again).

I don’t judge MJ... It was really petty and unnecessary of him to push the car that Susan took two days to build (and which turned out beautiful) in the middle of the street like that, just for the garbage truck to run over it. He could have said those things without destroying anything. But I understand that he’s still angry and frustrated by everything that’s been going on. The sudden loss of his father is not enough, in a very cruel way, at the door of the house... There’s even this thing about people treating him differently, looking at him differently. And I think this is very “natural” for people his age, other children to look at him and even say “he doesn’t have a father”. So this fear was understandable. I will never find this plot too dramatic, because I consider it real. People die, and some, like Mike, leave like that... It’s never easy to deal with, but when someone is taken from you by someone else’s hands, it must be even worse.

Lawyers are “sharks”, and prosecutors will dig deep into the depths for anything that can help them incriminate and convict someone. However, this claim that Bree may have taken Alejandro home and not even remember him is a very easy argument to overturn: she lost her sobriety and started dating different men many months after his death – whose time of death has already been declared by the coroners. The only problem in this case is Bree’s fingerprint on his clothes (which can also be dropped with that suggestion from Trip, about being a donation from Bree herself). As for that forged evidence from Detective Murphy, they might as well contest it. Anyway... Bree having a crush on Trip isn’t surprising. It’s amazing how quickly she is interested in other men. Season 2 was the only one she spent single (and at the beginning there was George), every other season she had someone. But it’s so cute to see! Too bad it’s under these circumstances...

I feel like laughing in Tom’s face when he says Lynette dating his boss is “embarrassing.” Pathetic. He did what he did all season and now he wants to butt in just because he knew about this date. Loved Lynette’s response to this. And I thought it was cool that she was hanging out with Gregg and pulling strings to harm Tom. But that last decision was a bomb. Gregg doesn’t seem to think straight, it makes no sense to conclude that she wanted Tom out of the picture to end his relationship. She just wanted to shudder. Even with the divorce in progress and Jane on the way, Tom remains the father of her children. And they still have three children at home – one of whom is still a baby. It was too absurd for the boss to decide to send him to a distant country for a whole year.

In the Gaby and Carlos plot, I think they were both equally wrong in their treatment of Ms. Hammond. Gaby for pushing expensive things and taking advantage of the woman’s naivete. And Carlos for butting in. Both saw the lady as just a “bank”, regardless of the interest for the money. In the “war” between the two, Carlos is once again brutal and exaggerated. It’s okay that he has this desire to change and do more “important” things, help others, etc etc. He’s felt it ever since he regained his sight. But he doesn’t have to do this whole show, does he? Acting like he’s a far superior person now, when all Gaby is doing is helping to keep what they have.

Gaby’s plot was fun! I laughed so hard at her sales tactics and worse it worked. The customers were all delighted with her advances without realizing that it was to increase her commission. Nice. Good to see Gaby taking this step and succeeding. Both for the support she gave her husband for him to move on to another job, and in her determination to provide for the family, by her own decision, after so much time just spending money on futile things.

The situation in the restaurant, however, was rather embarrassing. The guy lifting Gaby off the ground in that hug, her ripping off her ring and hiding that Carlos was her husband, introducing him as a brother… I understood his frustration. But then he brought out his fragile masculinity and I could only roll my eyes. It happened to Tom and now to him too. I didn’t see any malice in Gaby asking the waiter to bring her the bill. She was excited to be doing something like this for the two of them for the first time in two decades. And I LOVED it when she threw in his face the countless times he asked her to wear cleavage, short clothes, etc etc, to be pampered by potential clients and so he could close the deal. We’ve seen this happen a few times. In the pilot, even. And also with Lynette, when she was pregnant and her breasts swelled. So, huh? Carlos was out of place feeling disgusted like this and feeling inferior. Let her fucking work and help. Did he not want to quit his job? So, done! And even if he hadn’t...

Bree is a goddess. She is so charming and classy, the first scene of the episode with her being arrested is amazing. She doesn’t lower her head and doesn’t let herself be shaken. And she was still worried about what she left in the oven even though she was taken on a murder charge. But the situation is pretty tense for her and all because of that son of a bitch Detective Murphy. Holy crap, what a despicable character. And corrupt, on top of that. Abuse of authority. It makes me sick when he writes Bree’s house number on that map just to frame her. He’s not sure about anything and wants to send her to jail on the grounds that “she broke Chuck’s heart”. Ah, go to hell! I ALWAYS get the impression that Murphy loved Chuck beyond friendship and that’s why he does these things. Anyway, luckily Trip was there at the station at the time and saw the distress on Bree’s face at the “emergence” of this new evidence. She didn’t understand anything when she saw the map. She doesn’t deserve to go through this.

And speaking of Alejandro’s plot, I’m really uncomfortable with Gaby’s attitude when Bree comes home after being released on bail. The girls willing to step up and take the blame and she gets defensive. I understand this need to protect Carlos, her husband, the girls’ father. But man... It’s murder! Bree is in danger of being sentenced to prison for life, if she doesn’t get a worse sentence, since she didn’t even kill the guy. I don’t like Gaby’s selfishness at this point. Lucky for her, Bree has always been a thoughtful woman, not even the money they want to give to help with lawyers, she wants to accept...

Rewatching episodes after a while makes you see some things differently. In this Lynette plot, for example. On the one hand, I still think it’s monstrous of Jane to take the divorce papers for Lynette to sign. This is none of her business. It was already complicated when she told him that she was going to live with Tom. Now take the papers... I thought it was a low game. On the other hand, I understood what she said to Tom when they argued. They are in this relationship that he made a point of rushing, he invited her to live together and they are doing it. And she harbored strong, real feelings for him. In the meantime, this sluggishness on Tom’s part... I mean, in the end it looks like he’s joking and Jane doesn’t deserve that. As mean as she’s been to this whole Lynette thing, it’s not like she’s a bad person who seduced or hooked up with him when they were both married. He went after her when he broke up “momentarily”. And I think I also understood that thing about putting her needs first. It wasn’t something like “you need to forget about Lynette”, because she’s mature and not hypocritical enough to believe that by signing a measly paper, they would walk away for good...

As for Lynette, I feel really sorry for her. I felt so sorry for this scene with the divorce papers, I thought it was little that she threw just a little of the dough she was going to bake on Jane, she should have given her a bath for her to understand her place. But it was even more frustrating for her to realize that Tom had actually signed the papers. As I said before, I want them together, I’ve always liked them as a couple. But Tom doesn’t deserve this effort, these tears. Anyway, Lynette doesn’t deserve to suffer for him. Because what he’s done to her this season has been absurd apathy and indifference... I die with her crying like that in the car. Poor Lynette!

Finally, I really like this plot of Susan finding out about Mike’s secret. At first, you can think it’s about a daughter, but it goes beyond that. And to think that Adele gave up a child for finding her “inconvenient”, and in the name of a husband who we know was not only violent, but later became a murderer and was arrested. What an example. Anyway, Mike was very brave to hide this for so many years, I believe it was not just a need to honor the request of his mother, who felt ashamed. But he himself felt that way about her. And Susan as always: angel on earth, deciding to keep depositing the checks and keeping Laura in her life, visiting her and such. I also liked how this arc led to Julie’s reflection and how she decided to change her mind about giving up her daughter. Her understanding that she would regret it a lot later and that the guilt would be too heavy to carry. I liked it.

It’s ending...

Andrew hasn’t shown his face since last season. And his plot in this episode was very fun, and unusual. After all, to appear after so long engaged to a woman! I really love the “reversal” of roles here, Bree shocked that he’s going out and wanting to marry someone of the opposite sex, when the reality is usually quite different. And she saying that it took her time, but she understood that homosexuality is not a choice and that it doesn’t change. It’s comforting to hear that. At the beginning of the series she was so mean and showed total disgust when Andrew came out, and look at it now. She threw a party with all of his gay friends to stop him from doing something stupid. In fact, it would be very unfair for him to marry Mary Beth just because of the money, right? I felt sorry for her for that and also when she said she “gave up” on finding a guy. Nobody deserves to surrender like that. She’s crazy, but I found her to be very charismatic. At some point she will find someone who has a real interest in her and not her fortune. Anyway, this was also the last episode with Andrew’s appearance... The end is very close...

Gaby’s reflection in the last episode was powerful, huh? Because in addition to having decided to support Carlos’ decision to quit his job and dedicate himself to something much simpler, she also decided to look for a job to help with the expenses! These things only happened to her in times of dire need – when Carlos was arrested in Season 1 and when he went blind. It was really cool to see her taking this initiative. I felt sorry for her for the response she got from the job broker, about being basically “good-for-nothing” in the eyes of current employers. And the show she put on at the store when she went shopping was wonderful. I’m amused by the crowd cheering when she manages to pull off a hitherto considered impossible combination. I think it’s great that she got a job at that store and doing something she’s always loved, just for other people. Really dream job, she was very lucky. BTW: I die when the guy says that, as an employee, she will have 40% off everything in the store and she already jumps to serve the first customer.

Penny helping Lynette “kidnap” Tom for one night and getting Jane out of the picture was EVERYTHING. And I love her plan so much. The amount of candles she distributes throughout the kitchen and living room, man. I don’t know how he didn’t realize her intentions. And I didn’t see any malice. His reaction when he saw that she did have electricity in the house was pretty exaggerated, as she didn’t even do much. She provided a trip into his old memories, with good wine, a good dinner. And she even rekindled what was between them. “I’m living with Jane, and you do it NOW?” It wouldn’t be like this if he hadn’t jumped into someone else’s bed the same week he left home, practically. But anyway, he was very moved, he didn’t even pay attention to Jane offering sex. I would be a hypocrite if I didn’t say I don’t want both of them together, because I’ve always loved Tom and Lynette as a couple. But it’s a fact that Tom doesn’t deserve the effort that Lynette makes for him.

Teri Hatcher, Drama Queen. Impressive how she dominates, without any difficulty, scenes with a heavy emotional load, as happened in this episode. Her expression alone says a lot and when she finally opens up... This moment when Susan and MJ vent their anger, frustration, with the jams, breaking the glasses, is one of my favorites of both and one of the saddest too. The hug she gives him, the tears They shared. Everything is very impactful... It is unimaginable what they are going through. I feel so sorry for MJ for having lost his father, whom he so loved and idolized, in such a cruel and unfair way. And again, I emphasize my opinion about the teacher. You know, I understand her being worried that MJ might attack another child since he was able to attack her. But she, as an educator, who has certainly been dealing with children for a long time, not being able to understand the pain of a boy who had his father taken away from him, and on top of that considering taking him out of the room to further complicate his emotional state, it’s too much for me. I don’t even feel sorry for her for hurting her foot later when Susan took out her frustration. She was insensitive.

Renee impatient with Ben’s lack of marriage proposal. It finally happened. But everything must get complicated for him and especially for Bree, now that that damn detective has managed to capture a very compromising connection between them. I don’t settle for Bree saying on the phone that Ben helped her by omitting the fact that she buried a body in the woods. And I get frustrated because they’re neighbors, she could have thanked him in person, in a more open space, I don’t know. Not over the phone. And what’s worse is that she is the only one being persecuted. Didn’t Orson put in that envelope about the participation of the others?

Of the deaths we’ve had on the series (and there weren’t a few), this one for me is the most devastating. More than Edie Britt’s. For how long Mike has been on the show and for the unfair way he left. Murdered in front of his house, in the arms of the woman he loved, with a young son in need of him.

Susan always moves me in EVERY ONE of her scenes. Her shock on the couch when the reverend walks over. “The only thing I know is that nothing will ever be okay again.” The moment of reflection, with her remembering when they first entered the house after their wedding. “I love you once, I love you twice, I love you more than beans and rice”. For me, simply outstanding. And the speech she makes at the church ceremony, after remembering what heaven meant for him, is very beautiful, man. It’s very strong. I can’t handle it when she says “goodbye”. When Renee starts singing Amazing Grace. When they all say goodbye to Mike at the cemetery and Susan is left alone. And when she begins to realize what his absence will represent in the routine at home and all the girls provide support, they commit to helping her. The friendship!

I don’t even have anything to say about Mike other than that I really loved this character. I loved him with Susan. Even with the differences and problems. The back-and-forth. Disagreements, fights... But they always found a way to get back together. What happened to him was cruel, unfair, and hard to accept. And neither he nor Susan nor MJ deserved that. Mike deserved to live...

Mama Solis has always seen Gaby as a gold digger. And she was always very determined. There are some things I agree with her, but I think it’s beautiful to see Carlos determined to do anything to see Gaby smiling. I thought it was wonderful that this whole flashback made Gaby reflect on Carlos’ decision to leave that company. It was important for Mike to share Carlos’ fear of letting her down, of making her walk away. Finally, she decided to support him in doing what he wants, which makes him feel good. All that ambition to see him earning more and more money just for her to spend on random things was so futile. Now, as I said earlier, she can seek her financial independence.

Lynette moves me a lot by showing that she is absolutely devastated by this tragedy. Her stating, her voice breaking, that she will never see Mike walking out the front door again. Her flashbacks were great. The first one is funny because of their hair at the time and I love the second one, when Tom shows her the house and still shows that he paid full attention to the things she said on the FIRST date. He valued every word. Even she didn’t remember commenting on having a soft spot for “white picket fences” and he did it for her. I think it’s cool that she decides to fight for him now, after all this reflection. But I don’t know if Tom deserves that she keep going after him, because let’s face it: so far he hasn’t shown much empathy for her situation regarding marriage. But we’ll see...

Bree is the only one whose musings have nothing to do with Mike, but I like it anyway. I love seeing her when she was a little kid and it’s the first time her mother has appeared. And that “lesson” about the mask says A LOT about Bree. She never liked to publicly show any kind of emotion, she was always very closed off and now we know who she got that from. And it was just like what happened to her mother. She used this tactic so much with Rex that he eventually noticed and she had to switch to “favorite food”. Rex, by the way, was very insensitive. His mockery when she showed annoyance at her comment – really embarrassing and unnecessary, I believe not just for Bree, but for everyone present. Lucky for Rex he has a “charm” that keeps me from hating him too much. I never know how to explain why.

Orson’s plan worked. He really screwed with Bree and what’s worse is that these detectives are determined in this case by a personal matter that doesn’t even concern them. Chuck is dead still makes me angry! “She broke his heart.” Ok, I get it. But they’ve been together for two or three months, that’s not enough time to propose, let alone to think he owns a person. I so hate that ridiculous detective calling Bree a bitch. And I’m apprehensive about this evidence they got, Bree’s print being a match to the one found on the body… Fuck.

Carlos had already shown this willingness to quit his job before. When he saw again and realized that there are more important things in life than those jobs that, in short, only serve to harm someone while the “owners of the world” get richer and richer. At that time he was boycotted by Gaby, and also because he didn’t have a decent plan of life – he talked about community work, but no one can live without an income. Now he doesn’t talk about it anymore, about doing things just for charity, and I don’t think it’s bad at all. If he thinks like that, if the work there is toxic for him, then he really has to leave. I think he and Gaby already have a very comfortable life, they’re rich, they must have a lot of money on their hands. You don’t have to keep splurging like Gaby does. In fact, this may be a great opportunity for her to seek financial independence too, to stop depending only on him. Would be good.

Anyway, in the midst of these discussions we still had some iconic moments. The secretary begging Gaby to make Carlos stop, because she “likes to party with Brazilian gentlemen”. The counter face was the best! And I can’t help but laugh at Gaby’s own reaction when Carlos says he was giving money from their personal account: her ripping the check and kicking the guy out was hilarious. BTW: yes, it was pretty reckless... Taking money from the family, high amounts like that, and now he has this “smaller” plan. Anyway, we’ll see what comes out of it.

Lynette threw a wonderful party for Penny. And I really loved her getting into all the pictures taken of her daughter with Jane. Always spontaneous. The argument they both have afterwards is always too frustrating for me. Jane got absurd satisfaction from telling her that she was moving into Tom’s apartment. But as always, my biggest anger is with him. He’s too pathetic! I wanted Lynette to throw it in his face that this “break up to see if others could make them happy” plan was just in his head, she NEVER agreed to it. He left the house at the beginning of the week, at the end of it he was already in romantic encounters. Three months later, he already wants to live together. It’s not long before they talk about marriage. Lynette really didn’t deserve to hear that from Jane inside her house, let alone deal with Tom’s indifference to their story. Those “I’m sorry” that he says are extremely irritating and don’t solve a damn thing.

So Lynette hesitated when Jane gasped. But luckily she didn’t allow the worst to happen. As much as I don’t care if Jane lives or dies, it would be awful for Lynette to carry it on her conscience for being negligent.

Karen’s situation is full of drama, but with a very attractive comedy tone. It’s sad to see her being serious about interrupting her own life, about dying on her own terms, in her own time. But it was really funny to see her try. Bree making the excuse that she can’t kill her for taking pilates class is one of my favorite moments in the episode. And above all, this whole pie situation. As much for the surprise that she had ingested a poisoned food, as for the later argument of the couple inside the car. Roy begging Karen not to decide to leave too soon, my heart can’t take it. And Bree having to drive herself to the ER. iconic queen. In fact, I died with the fact that she and Karen “never liked each other”. Karen decides such random things all of a sudden.

When the episode starts and Mary Alice shows with the narrations who can die, you automatically rule out Juanita and Bree, for obvious reasons. There’s Jane and Mike. And from the moment that Jane’s risky situation is shown and nothing bad happens... I still, 10 years later, am unhappy with Mike’s death and I can’t help myself when this scene starts. In fact, a beautiful “before the tragedy happens”, with the dialogue between him and Susan, exposing how important she is to him and how much he loves her. The plan for the next day. And suddenly, in a second, everything is interrupted like this... In the most unfair, cruel and cowardly way possible.

The editing of this sequence was exceptional and made it even more shocking and emotional. This collage of key scenes of Mike and Susan as a couple, then those frames of EVERYTHING they’ve been through together. His life, the most important moments, flashing before his eyes before he was fatally shot. And it’s very shocking... Him lying there, that amount of blood, Susan’s despair screaming at him in her lap. It’s too much for me. I always fall apart. And to think they even tried to get police help because of the imminent threat of this damn loan shark. Fuck. It’s very surreal to think that Mike doesn’t make it to the end of the series. It’s hard to deal with it...

Again, Susan with the best and purest intentions in the world. But then again, making bad decisions along the way. I think it’s cool that she’s all excited about the arrival of her granddaughter, her first ever, and she’s so willing to help Porter, that whole thing. And I understand her being upset about Julie being away and nothing ok with that idea. But she needs to give her space too, right? Julie didn’t want to keep the baby close because it would be complicated, on a visit, to see her child at home, a daughter she had rejected. Then Susan goes and sets up a whole nursery right in the room that was Julie’s. So there’s no way to defend her, right? All in her time... If she continues to act like this, she will only push her daughter further away. And nobody wants that.

On the other hand, we have Lynette, who has always been the most sensible and shows that, as much as she is already accepting the idea of her unprepared son becoming a father, she doesn’t give full support and doesn’t put her hand on his head because she knows he needs to handle many responsibilities from now on. As she said in the previous episode, a child changes everything. He will sacrifice a lot, his life will change, etc. Anyway, I laughed too hard at the fight she and Susan had in the nursery. Lynette’s revolt taking the crib back, causing Susan to fall. And I think the conversation that the companions of each one have with the other is very cool. Tom is so hateful this season, but I thought it was great that he explained that Lynette needs to feel needed – this had already been shown in an episode of last season, just when she decided that the twins needed to leave the house. Mike, same thing... They both made it possible for them to make up and I loved it so much. Lynette offering Susan help at the end was really cute.

Karen getting sick, losing her balance at the beginning of the episode... It was too tense. And I’m speechless for her decision. She is clearly scared, already convinced that this time, she won’t be able to beat this damn disease. Practically dealing with it alone... and saving Roy to avoid further suffering. I can’t contain myself. Gaby asking him about his first wife, and he getting emotional when talking about the disease and how he was there for her in the last moments, he made her feel loved and comforted, it was very strong! It was a scene of a giant dramatic charge. I think Gaby did well to tell, and she really had to do something since she boycotted their reconciliation in the last episode out of pure selfishness, right? Anyway. Good luck to Karen, she doesn’t deserve this.

The disgusting loan shark... That’s scary, but at the same time it’s very revolting. The debt paid off, there’s nothing left for Ben to pay, much less for Renee who never did any kind of “business” with him, and the guy is harassing her just because he realized she has money. I feel so disgusted and so angry for this guy. Worse is that he thinks he’s a badass, he thinks he has some right to commit these acts and even to attack someone. He assaulted Mike and what did he expect? That he would get away with it and that Mike wouldn’t defend himself? Mike should have hit him harder, but I loved him throwing the worm out of the house hard. But the threat he made was frightening. “You should have killed me.” Loan sharks are no joke, and this one is pretty vindictive. If he was “attacking” Renee for no reason, imagine Mike giving him a beating like that?

Finally, we have Bree’s plot. I don’t think she was naive about Orson, I think it’s plausible that she believed the things he said for a few reasons: 1) she was totally lonely and spiraling after being dumped by her friends, apart from that he came up again in her life in a very desperate moment, she was being attacked by a man, and he stopped the worst from happening; 2) even after the things he did in season 5, Bree tried to get back together with him when Karl died, the marriage only ended because he chose to leave, meaning she still felt empathy for him; 3) in season 7, Orson briefly returned home and she welcomed him even though she was already living with Keith, she was unable to send him away even when she realized he had lied about the woman he was with breaking up with him; and 4) no one EVER imagined that someday Lynette, Susan and Gaby could be so unfair, hypocritical and inconsistent with Bree just because she did everything she could to help and protect them. Orson lied, but what he said about the girls, Bree herself had heard from their own mouths. There was an episode where Lynette even commented something like that, about her “deserving it”. So...

Orson just doesn’t have empathy on my part. I recognize that there was a time when he was good to her, when they were happy, even with the fact that he entered this relationship and marriage with many lies and omissions. But that time has passed a long time ago, it doesn’t surprise me at all that he’s so bad as to send a threatening letter, with such disturbing content as that, much less that he decides to turn it all over to the police for not getting what he wanted. He has been showing a very selfish and petty behavior for some time. He’s a hypocrite. Wasn’t Orson the one who got rid of Monique’s body after Gloria Hodge killed her? Wasn’t Orson the one who coldly tried to murder Mike in that hit-and-run? Wasn’t Orson the one who faked guilt in Monique’s death for Alma and made his mother take the blame alone, when he was a direct accomplice? That’s all Bree knows, and she’s never told anyone about it. Then he goes and reports it to the police, just for not accepting his divorce and his failed marriage. Orson Hodge is disgusting and deserves nothing but death. He’s a wretched worm.

At least now the way is clear for a reconciliation between Bree and the girls. They’ve been away for too long.

Porter Scavo, who eats frozen waffles, is the father of Julie’s baby. This is an even bigger surprise than her pregnancy, precisely because it is more unusual. Who knew that one day, Julie would hook up with one of the Scavo twins? Even more so because we saw them as little children, Julie was already a young lady. It’s weird, but I thought it was a good creative idea to rock this plot a little more.

For me, Susan’s biggest mistake was in the last episode, when she scared the couple away. It was unethical. But I can’t judge her by that familiar instinct. It’s very easy to understand this desire to keep the child: it’s her blood, she’s her first granddaughter. And she is able and willing to take care of her. Imagine how difficult it must be for someone to know that there is a person as closely related as this, in the world, without having the chance to follow their growth, none of that? So I understand her. And I also understand Julie’s side, when she says that “she made a decision and it was taken away from her”, which is one of the WORST things in the world. And also when she said that it will be very difficult when she visits her mother’s house and the girl is there, for example. Really complicated...

As for Porter, I didn’t see Susan’s mistake. She made a comment to Lynette and he just listened. Julie hiding her pregnancy makes no sense, because her belly is visible and she leaves the house all the time, at some point people would notice, right? And Porter went back to live next door to her house. One day he would see and the decision would be the same: keep the baby. Since Julie decided to keep the pregnancy, he as a father also has rights... It’s simple. Anyway, we still had wonderful comic scenes, like Lynette’s reaction when she found out everything. It was awesome! She having a panic attack. And it was also very beautiful Porter admitting basically that he has no roots, but that he already feels a lot of love for the girl and that he already wants to meet her.

BTW, I laughed my ass off with Lynette slamming the flowers in the face of one of the twins and running to close the doors.

What the hell did Gaby do in this episode, huh? Once again, opening up her absurd selfishness. It’s ok for her to want some help dealing with the girls, it was never easy for her, and Juanita doesn’t seem to learn! But nothing justifies her boycotting the couple’s reconciliation when Karen went there to apologize and ask Roy to come back. I hope Gaby fixes this soon, as soon as possible. BTW: but it was funny Roy giving orders! I always remember the screams of that gardener from Season 5, when Carlos went back to work and the girls got naughty with Gaby.

Speaking of Karen: I can’t deal with this cancer discovery scene again. Before, it was already difficult, in the lungs. Now with brain metastasis... I’m even more sorry for the dialogue about Roy, where we finally understand her reason for kicking him out of the house. She’s just trying to spare him the pain of losing another wife to this damn disease. You can’t help but feel sorry for that.

It doesn’t surprise me that Ben screwed up more. The loan shark gave the money and said the payment should be weekly. Of course, any investment he made with that amount would not pay off in such a short time. It was pretty tense with him trying to fake an accident to access insurance money, and almost having a heart attack. But even more, it was Renee’s scene with the said loan shark at the end. This guy is so gross, making a thinly veiled threat about “knowing where she lives”, commenting on her having divorced a player, having a lot of money. Crap. She already paid what Ben owed, this guy should be gone for good.

And finally, we have this plot of Bree... Orson hits rock bottom once again in this series, as an extremely evil, cold, calculating man. It was ridiculous for him to stop the girls from talking to Bree, and even more so, that horrendous lie he told about them, about them saying horrible things, that Bree deserved what she was going through, etc. Girls wouldn’t be able to say something so low and cruel like that, but I can’t judge Bree for believing him, as she’s really been totally abandoned by them in these last few episodes.

Which brings us to the big reveal... Orson is the blackmailer and the murderer. Does he really believe he feels love for her? It’s an unhealthy obsession. Since he’d gotten the car, he’d been stalking her (even if from a distance), keeping an eye on her every step. He witnessed the entire concealment of Alejandro’s body and carried out psychological, emotional, monstrous blackmail. He killed Chuck and left Bree psychologically shaken again with that “you’re welcome” letter. And now he’s going to great lengths to keep her away from her friends. Does he call it love? Did anyone still believe there was something good in him? He’s Gloria Hodge’s son, the apple never falls far from the tree. Now we can only hope that Bree finds out his intentions soon before taking this trip. Who knows what his plans are.

We followed Julie’s growth from Season 1 to Season 4. Since she was a child, around 12 years old... And now she’s carrying a baby! It’s a surprise that she just turns up pregnant, with this bomb in Susan’s face, and even more so with that decision.

The dinner scene was good, I laughed so hard at the couple’s reactions to hearing Susan’s lies about Julie’s psychopathy and madness. Lighting a lighter and letting her hand over it without crying, having a lot of tattoos done in jail. It was funny, but she was really out of place. I understand their point of view. I understand Susan can’t accept this decision to give the baby up for adoption, because whether or not the child has her blood, it’s her first granddaughter. And she is able to raise the girl, she has already shown her will. On the other hand, Julie is already an adult, she can make her own decisions and must be respected. I can only imagine how difficult this must be for her and how complicated it will be for both of them... The argument scene always moves me a lot, it’s very heavy, strong... Susan has a different, beautiful, “perfect” image. , from her daughter’s childhood, totally different from how Julie sees it - and she had already opened it up once in one of the previous seasons. And I do feel sorry for Susan, but she really did stir up Julie’s temper.

What an embarrassing situation with Frank! Poor Lynette, dying of embarrassment for crying during sex. And I got really frustrated with that, because Tom doesn’t deserve her feeling guilty like that. He left the house and in the same week he started going out with Jane, I’m sure he had no problem having sex with her. So Lynette didn’t deserve to feel this way. But Frank is cute! Both for giving her another chance after the fiasco of the first date, and for showing complete understanding of the time and space she needs to move forward. I thought it was really cute that he promoted a “spontaneous date”, he left Lynette speechless. It’s weird to see her with someone else after 8 seasons and 170 episodes, but it’s just a matter of habit - since the anger Tom has provoked in me this season is huge.

Gaby’s plot with Juanita was good too, I love when they give more space to the girl, it always yields good scenes. I thought it was cool Gaby making that card in Ryan’s name just to make her daughter happier, I didn’t see any malice in it. And the situation at school was embarrassing. The boy noticing Juanita’s stares and then him being attacked with KISSES. Gaby got defensive when the school principal mentioned that things are no longer the way they were in their childhood. And I LOVE that more mature dialogue that the two of them have at the very end. Juanita spoke a truth: Gaby ALWAYS lies to her and it’s time for it to stop. Great that she decided to open up about Carlos and decide to take Juanita to visit him. Too bad they always forget Celia, she didn’t appear in any scene in this episode.

“She’s not our problem anymore, after the way she treated us.” The hatred I have of this hypocrisy and inconsistency. If they were fair, if they were really going to fight, Lynette should be mad at Gaby too – since her reason was the omission of the letter Bree received. And Susan must have been angry with the three of them – since she was also pissed that they had gone to the site of Alejandro’s body to dig it up without saying anything. Gaby shouldn’t be mad at ANYONE. All of them are unfounded, but Gaby is the height of hypocrisy, because she has NO reason. Apart from that EVERYONE should be mad at Susan for the slips she made, especially with the paintings. BUT THEY ARE NOT! They just decided to channel all that frustration on Bree, for nothing!

So I slowly applaud everything Bree said to them in the final moments. Even drunk and staggering, she put all her feelings out and made this one of the most moving and memorable scenes in Desperate Housewives for me. She just spoke facts! Their behavior did give the impression that they were Bree’s friends, and that they had her as a leader in whatever it was, when it was convenient. A little problem arose, they decided to turn their backs as if she were a monster and guilty of everything alone. “When I tried to apologize, you slammed the door in my face.” FATALITY Bree didn’t do anything to have to apologize. On the contrary... I love all these characters from the bottom of my heart. But I can’t deny the anger I feel for all this hypocrisy...

At least, it seems that now Bree has given a “wake up” to life, as she refused to drink more at the bar and was repulsed by the man who was hitting on her. It was way too tense the guy trying to attack her in the parking lot, trying to hit her and force her into his car. Lucky that Orson showed up on time and even taught the disgusting one a lesson! It’s no secret that I don’t like this character, and I’d rather he never come back. I don’t want him with Bree. But maybe, he will be of some help to her at this time when she is so alone. And let it be just that and he leaves as soon as possible.

Bree making her many lovers got up at 4 am so they wouldn’t be seen by Karen. And in the end, she already knew about the radical behavior due to a trip to the bathroom at dawn. Bree is an iconic queen, but I don’t think she’s going to find out who she really is in a bar, picking up a different man a night. Nor do I agree with her taking on a “slutty” place, as that woman said at the end, because she was never that. I’m appalled at this scene of her walking out and everyone in the church is shocked and watching her... But I want my old Bree back. There’s nothing wrong with dating other men casually, what I don’t like is seeing her agreeing to the definition of “town whore”. Other than that the woman was ridiculous, she attacked only Bree (who is single and didn’t even know the guy was married), and left her husband practically scandal free. Both are wrong, but he is even more so for being married and omitting it.

I can’t help but laugh at Susan’s plot. She makes a fool of herself, is often naive, but it’s still funny. I laugh a lot at Claudia’s attack when she arrives on Wisteria Lane, screaming for “Ramon” at Susan’s house. And even more so when she puts out those countless posters calling Susan a slut. Poor thing, she always goes through these embarrassments – I remembered season 2, when her biological father’s wife spray-painted “whore” on her garage door. And in the end, this visit she paid to Alejandro’s family turned out to be crucial.

Gaby’s reaction when Susan told her about his molested 15-year-old stepdaughter was sad. Even more so in that discussion with Claudia, when she exposed everything the worm did, the woman refusing to believe it, and Marisa entering the room begging her mother to believe her. Damn, that was extremely strong! Both for Marisa, who suffered this violence, her body was violated, and for Claudia, who began to feel guilty for having taken Alejandro into their house in the first place. But it was good Marisa finally revealing the truth and putting it out, it would be worse for her to continue repressing and now they can seek professional help to try to get her to overcome the trauma - if that’s possible. Claudia understanding what happened when she saw the “wine stain” again and encouraging Gaby to get rid of the carpet: everything for me!

I just need to point out one thing: at the beginning of the episode, Gaby exposed everything Susan did out of guilt. She assaulted a police officer out of the blue. She made the paintings, which put the three of them at the center of Chuck’s investigation. And she went after Alejandro’s family – which could be harmful indeed. And neither Gaby nor Lynette are judging and interrupting their friendship with Susan for that. But Bree, who only omitted the fact that she was being blackmailed by a person (who later even killed in her name), was totally abandoned. The attitude of the girls makes no sense and it makes me very angry. I didn’t want them mad at anyone, not even Susan. I wanted them together. But why this selectivity? It’s like they’re looking for an excuse to keep Bree away, like they don’t want her friendship anymore. Now we have Bree in this spiral, giving up her sobriety... And they don’t even care. It’s annoying!

I love Lynette very dearly, but she is a pain in the ass about having control. She always was, this episode only opened up more and helped her to see how harmful this behavior is and that she is the one who needs control. It was embarrassing what happened at dinner. It’s her first date with a guy she met that very day and she puts together a 5-year business plan on napkins? Worse, she is disdainful of his role in the salon! It was okay that she saw a greater potential in him, above that. But if he doesn’t want to, she doesn’t have to say any more. It was like this her whole life with Tom. Finally it was this job thing that he didn’t want to take, she forced him in every way and he ended up changing, which led to the breakup. But I loved that she recognized this problem and will try to work on it to alleviate it.

The guy’s revenge on Renee’s hair was priceless. And I thought it was sad what happened to her at the end of the episode. Ben was very ridiculous proposing marriage, hearing her “yes”, only to later reveal that he was doing it with an eye on her money. What’s the use of saying that he really loves her and wants to be with her, after showing that he was interested and had ulterior motives? He shouldn’t have proposed in the first place, right? I felt sorry for her, she got super excited just for him to destroy everything right away. By the way, how dangerous is Ben taking money from this loan shark. Weekly pay? I doubt he’ll get a comeback that fast. Other than that it’s distressing this guy picking on Mike.

For starters, it was ridiculous Gaby telling Lynette that they should apologize to each other and just stay mad at Bree. RIDICULOUS and totally apathetic of them. And I am very surprised that Lynette, who has always been so sensible and straight forward, does not realize how unfair they are being - even more considering that she herself has suffered at the hands of Carlos and Gaby, in that whole process of unfair dismissal by the pregnancy and etc.

Bree was being harassed by Chucky. Bree receives threatening letters from someone who knows what they did. The person sending the letters was able to kill someone – so there is a level of danger. And yet, they decide to accuse her and walk away? Stay angry? What guilt does she have for being blackmailed? They’re all equally damn guilty. It is unacceptable that they are witnessing such a disturbing thing happening to a woman who has always been faithful to them, has always been willing to help in everything, and they just don’t care. Then they say that Mary Alice should have asked them for help when she received her own letter... There’s Bree suffering, drinking again, she even tried to kill herself, and they don’t even stop for a second to reflect that all this exclusion can be quite disturbing. But the worst thing for me is that they are boycotting Bree, and Susan has done much worse. Before it was only Bree who was harassed by Chuck, the investigation moved on to the other three because of the painting Susan did. This was MUCH MORE serious than omitting the letter. Gaby has NO reason to be angry, let alone to propose a boycott. Like it or not, this whole situation happened because of her, Bree did what she did to protect her and Carlos. Gaby is insanely hypocritical, and she’s never been as selfish as she is this season.

But back to Bree: I like this plot of hers and the transformation that happens with it. At first, she was very disgusted to even put her elbow on the counter because of the germs, only to enter the pool naked with a guy she just met. I laugh so much at this scene! One of the most comical that Marcia Cross did on the show. As much for the sight of the owner of the house and her reaction, as her leaving the pool hiding behind that buoy. But this idea of becoming a nymphomaniac, of going out to have fun with a different man every night, I don’t like. I support her getting distracted, after all she is being looked down on by people she considered loyal and true friends. But I didn’t want it to be like that...

We now know that the mastermind of the letters was really stalking Bree. And that he is a man, by the image of the hand on the steering wheel. It remains to be seen who...

Susan is very inconsequential. Her internal conflict is so intense that she doesn’t realize that her actions can be quite harmful. She’s angry at times, but I can’t judge. Heavy conscience is like that and she was even more penalized when she saw the financial situation of Alejandro’s family. Even more so when she realized that his stepdaughter was also a victim of his disgusting sex crimes. I was very sorry for Marisa’s expression when Susan went there to talk and said she could trust her... And I really understood her saying to the girl that Alejandro would never come back, she wanted to give comfort, a “relief”, so that Marisa could have peace. The problem there is the mother, who sees that bastard as a good man, a good husband, and expects him to return. In the end, Susan’s good intentions, as expected, will become a huge problem. She could have given a sum of money, since the check contains her information, name, city, address...

Gaby is too stubborn! But at least that yielded that wonderful restaurant scene, with her using keywords to convince the investing couple that she was an expert on the subject. And the funny thing is that so far she was doing well, they were very interested in her. It was just losing the little piece of paper that everything fell apart. The ending with Lynette was really good, it’s rare for her to admit to being wrong about something. And Gaby is almost on the same path too, it was nice of them both being honest about what’s been going on and apologizing. I’m just not happy that they keep doing that shit with Bree. It’s a very selective understanding.

Speaking of Lynette: sad she’s having to deal with this reality of Tom being out of the house. It was all very abrupt and it’s always a turning point in the life of any couple that comes to this, even more so after living together for so long, sharing tasks. The hole she made in Penny and Parker’s room, and them wanting to fight over it, was hilarious! In the end, she had to call an electrician. Sometimes you have to surrender...

I die with Ben showing a much greater interest in Renee after discovering that she’s a millionaire. She doesn’t deserve this, even more considering that she really likes him, she’s jealous of him and all. Oh, oh... By the way, how extreme Ben’s desperation was, to the point of going after a loan shark. How horrible...

Bree came too close to ending it all. Thank God for the misunderstanding and confusion that Renee created in her own head, that Ben was getting involved with her… If not, she wouldn’t have made it to the hotel just as Bree was holding the gun to her head. I’m always very touched by all the scenes of these two in the episode. Renee’s expression when she realized what she was going to do... Bree herself lowering her head and crying. Fuck. And I think it’s so beautiful Renee going out of her way like that to make sure Bree wouldn’t try to do it again. We already knew about her history with suicide, in this episode she delved a little more about her mother, revealing that she had already tried once and was saved, but in the second, Renee wasn’t around to stop it. Heavy and sensitive. Anyway, I really liked that she persisted even after Bree stated that they are not friends, showing that she does have empathy and is a wonderful woman. For more Renee moments with Bree, thank you!

Gaby and Carlos: both reckless – and funny that only Susan is judged, and there are other characters doing wrong things. Carlos was drunk, ok... And he was saved by the bell! But what if it didn’t? He would have given it all away and everyone would be beyond lost by now. We still have Gaby’s decision to go to the police station to reinforce that Chuck’s death was an accident and try to get information about suspects from the investigator. What could be more suspicious than that? Anyway, I’m surprised by the final scene she has with Carlos, when she makes that threat in a super serious tone. His face says it all. Gaby was really menacing. BTW: how ridiculous Gaby once again putting the blame for Chuck’s investigation on Bree.

Lynette telling Tom that they both agreed that their separation was to find out if they can be happy with other people... When did she agree to this? NEVER! She was shocked when she found out about his relationship, and he had the nerve to take this topic to therapy. But, at least in this episode, I didn’t feel angry with him. Without Jane and all that fuss, he’s more tolerable. And I didn’t even want him to go to Paris. Jane deserved to stay there alone and come back alone, to understand that he has a family, that he has a little daughter and a baby girl and that Lynette will always need him. The little show she did in the last episode still stresses me out. Anyway, I liked the Tom-Lynette interaction in this episode, even with the pizza disagreement – I found the dialogue about it helpful, by the way.

Susan made one more dangerous decision... Going after Alejandro/Ramon’s family isn’t going to mean good things, it’s just going to mean more suspicion. I do understand her reasons. She has always been feeling guilty, hence the fact that he had a family, daughters, people who may not even know about his past and the crimes he committed against a child (since he even changed his name), and who are probably suffering from this disappearance. It’s risky, it’s stupid... But I understand her wanting to find a way to alleviate this guilt and take this weight off. But we cannot deny that this is risky and unwise.

Lastly, the person writing the letters struck again and was the one who took Chuck out of circulation. Again, Bree is the only “beneficiary” of these cards. Her theory that there is a person they don’t know, and who knows everything they’ve done, is still standing.

This is perhaps the most “complicated” episode of the show, because it’s impossible to get through it without feeling angry at almost every character. The only one that doesn’t cause this is Bree, precisely because she’s being a VICTIM of an injustice at the hands of her said friends and seeing all of them slamming the door in her face as if she were a big monster. This opening scene showing Bree’s effort to get support from the girls, and receiving lame excuses, closed curtains and almost a “you’re fake and you deserve what you’re going through” is absolutely frustrating.

I was more understanding with Susan and Lynette, but now I think they’re both acting 100% over the top. I don’t know how they see Bree’s omitting some things as something mean, something harmful, and her justification was plausible: they were both having other serious problems, especially Susan, and that would only alarm them more. Other than choosing to hide, Bree was carrying a giant burden ALONE, having to deal with this harassment from Chuck, him closing in and all that on HER, not the others. He only had a suspicion that Bree was covering up for someone, but he had no way of proving or implying anything. What changed this situation was precisely SUSAN! Painting those faithful depictions of her friends, she put herself, Lynette and Gaby at the center of his investigation. So, how angry is Susan really? I mean, what’s the point of her anger anyway? What she did was far more serious than Bree hiding over the letter, and no one turned their backs on her. They are all being inconsistent and hypocritical!

But the worst is Gaby. She’s always been selfish, that’s a fact – and I say this with a lot of love for this character. She improved considerably in Season 5, then went back to being petty again, and is now at her peak. “It’s all happening because of you, Bree.” How can it be because of her? Because of Chuck? She was involved with him before this crime and at the time she couldn’t have foreseen that he was a spiteful and vengeful man. The one who encouraged Bree to end the relationship was Gaby herself. Bree did it. And now Gaby accuses her? I think it’s worse that Gaby considers Bree “guilty” when she knows that Carlos is the one who killed Alejandro, all of this is happening because of what HE did. Bree took the initiative to cover up, but always aiming for the good of her friend and that family, which would be destroyed. Since then she has only tried to help in the best possible way, only to be abandoned now. You can question the value of this friendship, right?

So as a result, we have Bree giving up her sobriety again. The last time this happened, which was when Orson turned himself in to the police and Danielle took Benjamin away, she had Katherine to help, who moved in with her and everything to support her. And now? Bree felt so lost that she decided to take such an extreme step. I always cry with this whole final sequence, for her expressions and for the dialogue with Mary Alice, I think it’s very strong. Bree remembering how perfect life was before, and questioning if Mary Alice was happy. The answer, “I’m not unhappy”, is SOOOO reflective and impactful if you think about it in the context of the situation. And the camera zooming away with that soundtrack as Bree takes the gun one more time, always leaves me shivering and distressed, no matter how many times I watch it. For me, one of the most memorable scenes in the series.

In addition: how funny Susan saying that “before she looked out the window and saw a true friend”. Now everyone has turned fake for not wanting to harm her mental health. She forgot everything they did before, she forgot that BREE would donate her kidney if it wasn’t for what Beth did. She forgot that they organized a joint effort on the street to test everyone and find donors. Everything is in the past, now they are all fake! Other than that I thought it was pretty hypocritical for her to go after the money for the paintings and making plans to use it for a trip, maybe to move, since there’s Bree’s money there and she just bought it to try to prevent anyone from understanding what the paintings really are about. Susan has to return the money to Bree and Gaby, not spend it on personal things. On the other hand, as angry as I am right now, I understand her wanting to run away/move. It was already bad in the head, with the investigation getting closer to her, so... It won’t solve anything if something is proven, but I can understand her desperation. Just this one.

How I hate it when Jane approaches Tom to say that he needs to see “what Lynette is doing”. Now she put her claws out for good. But I loved what happened, and I hope she stays alone waiting for Tom to arrive in Paris, to learn. The hatred I feel is even greater when Lynette apologizes and he subtly asks her to shut up. Fucking bastard, he has no respect for the woman he shared half his life with and with whom he had five children, one of whom is still a baby. I can’t stand what Tom has become. Lynette deserves better! But anyway, it was tense for her to tell everything about Alejandro’s case, but necessary. Whether he likes it or not, the kids still need him.

The parts where Gaby wasn’t being hypocritical to Bree were great. I die with her infiltrated in that family meeting to intern the alcoholic boy, pretending that she was his girlfriend. Her trying to hit on the gay nurse was funny too. And another tense moment was Chuck revealing that he discovered the link between her and the dead man, who now went by the name “Ramon Sanchez”. It made it even more complicated for her.

To finish: someone with sense did the favor of running over Chuck, trying to get him out of circulation right away. And the possibilities are in the air. We have Carlos, Ben and Bree as possible suspects. Maybe Gaby, who left to look for Carlos. Whoever it was, that person deserves an award.

Chuck is so abusive. He’s harassing Bree and that’s certainly illegal, he’s approaching her, threatening, coercing. Aside from the opening scene, where he broke into her house. It’s obvious it was him, he made a noise downstairs to scare her and pretended he “was nearby” when he heard the radio call. And Bree can’t do anything against that motherfucker just because he’s a cop. She doesn’t deserve this, and to think that he’s just being pathetic like that for being dumped by her. This man is despicable. Bree was so amazing when she declared her love for the girls, stating that she would do anything for them, and that she protects them. It’s just a shame: she said the girls would never do something they’re doing now.

As I said in the last episode, Susan’s decision is one of the dumbest in the world! I can understand her need to vent, she put that weight out in art for having buried a man, for having been part of a murder, etc. But damn, she could keep these paintings to herself! She vented, that’s it, it’s over... Taking it to class was ridiculous, just to get approval from this sour man who is Andre Zeller. Look at the trouble they’ve gotten themselves into now... Okay, it wasn’t with her consent, she made it very clear that she didn’t want them to be exposed, but she could have avoided it all. Anyway, I always find it funny how she behaves when she sees the paintings in the exhibition, trying to rip them off the wall and reaching for a glass of fake champagne to ruin everything.

Which brings us to the conflict between Susan, Gaby and Bree in the final sequence. Susan and Gaby are totally selfish and apathetic. Susan has no right to question Bree about hiding “more secrets”, because first: she made these paintings and didn’t say anything to anyone, apart from that she complicated a lot for them. And second, Bree tried to talk to her about Chuck, and Susan decided to ignore her. As for Gaby, her reaction made no sense! It’s as if they want to hold Bree responsible for both the crime and everything that’s been going on since then. How is it that Gaby doesn’t understand an attempt at protection, when she and Bree agreed not to tell Susan and Lynette about the letter, and Susan about digging up the body? They’d decided to do this with the intention of protecting them, and now Bree did the same thing when she saw Carlos’ situation. And she, as an alcoholic, knows how exhausting it is. Lynette will definitely be angry too, and we know that Bree tried to talk to her and she pretended she wasn’t home... It’s ridiculous that they’re slamming doors in Bree’s face like that, like she’s a monster.. .

Gaby trying to save the deal that Carlos’ company has with the millionaire client, using seduction, it was funny. And I laugh so hard with this little hired guy playing a friend, saying he feels and considers Carlos as if he were a father, and he was just trying to stick the knife in the back. I think this twist is really cool when the customer finds out that Carlos is having a drinking problem. At first you think he’s going to leave the company, tear up the contract, and in the end he goes and gives Carlos this giant incentive to get treated, because he knows how addiction is and what it can do. I hope Carlos heeds this advice and recognizes at once that he has a problem. He needs to take the first step to recover and it needs to be soon.

This Lynette and Tom plot gets on my nerves! First for Tom, I’m tired of repeating how incoherent and obnoxious he’s been this season, reaching disgusting levels and without making an effort. I still don’t understand how he had the courage to embark on a relationship with another woman AS SOON AS HE LEFT HOME, and already be in all this love, taking into account that in 8x01 he wanted to go home despite the problems, he was willing to work seriously to sort out what was keeping him and his wife so far apart. So, it’s an absurd transformation from that episode to now. I felt VERY sorry for Lynette in that bedroom scene, it was a humiliation for him to assume that the flowers were sent “by mistake”, because of his permanent order at the florist, and stating that he would cancel everything first thing in the morning. She got all dressed up (she was beautiful, I loved her hair), she was all excited just to take a cold shower from him. Tom doesn’t deserve what she feels, doesn’t deserve her to be sad for him, doesn’t deserve any of this. Lynette deserves better.

Bree took the “leadership” on this crime issue. She wasn’t even the one who killed Alejandro, but everything is on her back. First this letter thing, now this unearthed body situation and her trying to figure out what exactly happened, and how to resolve it. I find it tense when she opens up to Ben and yet he says he can’t help her, he’s going to the police. You can feel her despair in that cry right after he leaves. Not only that, she still has to deal with Chuck, who has already started his investigations about Alejandro and even remembered that they crossed paths with him on the night of the progressive dinner. I’m disgusted by his super abusive approach, even more so when he throws in Bree’s face the personal relationship they had. Look, a man with a bruised ego is unbearable. It’s like Bree has an obligation to stay with him for the rest of her life... He’s a worm! Luckily Ben wasn’t intimidated. It’s only suspicious what he says to Bree, about having decided to cover up the body, and that he might “need her help” in the future. But we’ll see...

If before I felt empathy for Tom in this scene where he is alone waiting for Penny, now that empathy is gone for good. Another character going down the drain is him and I loved EVERYTHING Lynette said. Both for him and for Penny, really. She didn’t tell any lies. He did make his bed and must deal with consequences as he barely left the house and jumped into a relationship with someone else. A very serious relationship that seems to have been going on for a long time, since he is very committed and on top of that he takes Jane to Lynette’s every time he goes there. Pathetic, he wants to force this new love as if everything had happened naturally. Tom has had his bad moments throughout the series (and now I recognize them all), but he’s never gotten this forced and boring like this. Anyway, I also like the conversation Lynette has with Penny at the end, it’s really real and Tom, as unnecessary as he is being, is still a father and hasn’t let go of his kids, right? He tries to be there for them and all. I just wanted him to stop forcing Jane into everyone’s lives. Lynette crying always breaks me. Tom doesn’t deserve any of those tears.

I love this Gaby and Carlos plot with Bob and Lee. I laugh so hard at them trying to make Juanita and Celia look like super smart and well behaved girls – Celia using a doll as a fork, hiding a lollipop in her hair and sucking on it after it was thrown in the trash is the BEST! And what about Gaby paying for every girl’s line with money and candy during dinner? THAT FAMILY! What Juanita did was unnecessary, that message in the garage was ridiculous. But I felt sorry for her when she exposed her fear of Carlos “dying” and that everything is different at home. The girls are feeling the heavy aura. This is very complicated... Apart from this situation for Gaby and Carlos themselves, having to look for reliable, responsible people, to ensure that the girls receive good care in case they are arrested...

I get annoyed with Susan trying to please this teacher all the time. The guy is a bore, super arrogant, hates EVERYTHING. And she insists that she can do something good enough for him. I would have already told the guy to go to hell, he doesn’t evaluate people’s work, he likes to judge them based on what he sees, an often stereotyped view...

On the girls’ fight: I understand everyone’s side, but I think both Susan and Lynette could see that Bree and Gaby’s intentions were never bad. Susan is right to be frustrated at being “excluded”, because she was a part of it and is eating away at guilt. However the excuse for her was a viable one, since she’d walked away from everyone for the last two months, closed herself off completely, and finding out that someone else knew what they were doing and that they were blackmailing would only be more damaging to her. Same for Lynette, who’s always so sensible... I really wish she’d understood. The last thing that can’t happen right now is a break in their friendship and complicity.

Lastly, I will ALWAYS be frustrated with this “art work” that Susan does to vent her feelings. Did she really had to draw the fucking crime, man? And did she really have to show that to Andre? Couldn’t she at least have kept it to herself, left it very well hidden, if the intention was to “vent”? She wanted the worm’s approval and worse she got it. I will never settle for this ridiculous decision to expose what they did. Help me help you, Susan!

God, what a bitter character this Andre Zeller is, man. One weekend every 30 days is the time he spends with his son, with his blood, and yet he finds a way to keep him away. But the worst thing for me was the way he treats the boy when they’re really together. I was heartbroken when the kid said that Halloween and costumes were “child” stuff, and he is one! Jasper’s crime is being a child, for Andre... Damn. It’s a good thing Susan spoke some truths at their meeting and he SEEMS to have been moved a little. Apart from that this internship thing was really absurd, she was very cold-blooded to accept this kind of abuse disguised as an “internship”. Spare me, Andre! BTW: how adorable is MJ as a robot and Susan embodying character as well. I love strong!

Lynette was so accurate in having a stylist make Penny’s costume, and I laughed out loud at the end result, an absolutely provocative outfit! But she was beautiful anyway. About Jane: I always think she starts off wrong with this whole offering to do the costume thing, as she says she knows how difficult a breakup is – meaning that Lynette could be bothered by it. And I get really frustrated with their dialogue at the very end, after Lynette asks her to leave. Jane exposing that she “won’t give up on Tom”, illustrating then that the relationship there is really serious. And the thing about Lynette “always looking for a fight”, which Tom mentioned to her. My anger at him only grows more. It’s pathetic that he’s making comments about his wife to another woman and even more pathetic to see the seriousness of this relationship with Jane. As I said before, why go to therapy then, if the woman he found has already declared war saying that she won’t give up having him? Fucking joke! Also, it all went really fast. Tom barely left the house and already got another one. Where’s his feeling for Lynette? Where’s that desire he showed to have to get back together there in the first episode of this season?

Renee had the funniest plot of the episode. Her impatience picking up the candy and throwing it on the floor when the kids showed up at Ben’s house was hilarious. But the best thing was the allergic reaction and all the kids running in fear when Ben went to take her to the car. I had a hard time laughing! The moment in the hospital was pretty sweet, with both of them admitting they like each other. Aww, I hope it works out.

The scene of Carlos seeing Alejandro in that boy’s fantasy was creepy – just like the nightmare Lynette had in 8x01, with the dead man climbing the stairs from her house to her room. It’s sad to see that Carlos isn’t getting help at all. At the AA meeting he freaked out about having to open up. And now he’s seeing things! He’ll keep repressing those feelings in his drink and it’s only going to get worse. I feel so sorry for him in this plot.

Gaby and Bree team up to kidnap frogs is one of the sequels I love the most this season. I think it’s very funny that Bree is all dressed up for an adventure, an outfit absolutely suitable for the occasion. Gaby in the usual Gaby style and her outbursts when she saw the frogs. That part in the car was amazing, her freaking out with the frog in her arm, Bree screaming when all the other frogs ran away! It was awesome! Too bad it was all in vain...

In fact, it was absolutely ALL in vain. The opening (and final) act is too tense... The girls running from the man through the forest. Lynette even fell. A precise, urgent direction, in the right dark tone. And in the end, the discovery that someone had already moved and dug up the body. Damn, what a huge problem! After all, who dug it up? And where did that person take the body?

Does Tom not realize how inconsistent and pathetic he is being with Lynette? In her place I wouldn’t even have gone to that therapy session after finding out he’s been seeing someone else, because it only served to make her angry. First he says it’s “friendship” and that he took her to dinner twice. Then he says that he STILL hasn’t had sex with the woman, already making it clear that he intends to and that will happen at some point. Disgusting. “We haven’t been happy for a long time”, I’m not satisfied with that because the problems of both started recently and I think it’s RIDICULOUS that he treats his marriage as a last option. He basically says they should go out and date other people, and if that doesn’t work out, then they’ll go back to focusing on marriage. What is the point of therapy, then?

I really wish Lynette had gotten through with that charming little guy she’d met at the bar. Too bad it didn’t work out. But I admire her integrity, her steadfastness. And her conscience, as much as Tom doesn’t deserve it. I felt sorry for her feeling so bad she cried in front of the guy. Anyway, the sequence at the bar was good. The guy with the lit up tie was funny. And even more so when that friend of the twins recognized Lynette. It was very embarrassing!

It was so cool to see Bree going back to the golden days of when she ran a buffet and cooked for lots of people. I love seeing her passion and dedication towards cooking. But it was really frustrating to see the place filling up with well-to-do people who were just looking for a good and free meal, totally taking over the space of the needy. And Bree was so delighted with the success again that she didn’t even realize it. But I loved her kicking everyone out. And now, as if that weren’t enough, we have this giant twist for her... Wow, she defended Ben’s project, maybe she was crucial in approving it, only to find out that the place where he wants to build is precisely where they buried Alejandro. It will complicate her life and everyone else’s. We already know from the previous episode that he has already been reported missing, so an investigation is about to take shape. With a body, then... Things get even more damaging.

It’s not surprising that Carlos has turned to drinking to deal with what he’s feeling. Gaby is in on everything, but she doesn’t care and doesn’t feel the same way he does. Susan understands, but now there’s been an estrangement and Mike has asked him not to look for her anymore, since she’s been getting distracted by art classes. It gets hard. It’s unimaginable for me to carry someone’s death on my conscience and he keeps repressing those feelings, it only tends to get worse. I feel sorry for him... He needs treatment and even then, he needs to be cautious, since no one can find out that he is responsible for a murder.

Gaby got rough with the mothers. She kept women waiting for 45 minutes, didn’t hide that it was because of her vanity and then even threw in their faces that they were feeling jealous, and that they could “be her” for a day. I don’t think she’s ever been as futile throughout the series as she was in this episode. As much as this is the “Gaby way of being”, I understand now the frustration of the other mothers. And I’m always very touched when Carlos shows up drunk and they all feel sorry for the situation and decide to act with the preparations and such. Gaby just needs to show a more human side, so it generates empathy. The way she was, anyone would conclude that she is just a pit of futility.

Susan unable to control her laughter in front of the naked hot model!!! I LAUGH SO MUCH. And even more so when she arrived in class without clothes, and everyone was very well dressed! But I laughed because her reactions were funny, just because what Andre did was mean. There was no other way to “take revenge”? Did he have to humiliate her in front of everyone by allowing her to attend class naked? I think that in her place I would never go back there. First because of the shame and second because there is no way to give confidence to a man who does something like that.

Lynette all smart buying Penny a tablet with the excuse of being able to help her with her homework even from a distance, just to spy on Tom, I laughed so hard! But I was also sorry when she saw him talking to the girl. The other scenes were great, I loved her and Renee so much going to class just to know better who Chloe was. I died with Renee complaining about the exercises, saying she was about to pass out.

Tom went down SO MUCH with this episode. As Lynette said: “what’s the point?”. What’s the point of both going to therapy, counseling, trying to solve marriage problems, if he’s already taking another woman to dinner and is already getting involved? And apparently, this involvement is more serious than he let on. This makes no sense to me and is very disrespectful to Lynette. When was he going to tell her? And why the hell is he doing this? If you’re going to play with Lynette, it’s better not to move on... I felt really sorry for her when she realized this new reality and I was angry with him for being ridiculous like that. There is no such thing. Either you want it or you don’t. How can you want to fix your marriage while dating another woman?

Gaby’s plot was also amazing. I love her making the moms come together in the “This is Sparta!” scene, and the women all vibrating together, prepared to take the dictator out of power. But I still find these rules about leaving children at school very absurd – it must take forever, since the green zone is unique and is a small space for several cars that are arriving –, apart from those parking lots B and C that are at a considerable distance . Anyway, I love Gaby being cheeky and deciding to bend the rules yet again, resulting in Dana getting hit by a car. And this twist is funny, Gaby being forced to become president of the APM thanks to a blackmail from the dictator. It remains to be seen how she will handle it. Never that Gaby could put her vanities aside for something like that, right?

Perhaps this is the first episode that Danielle has paid a visit, and she hasn’t been annoying. In fact, she even caused empathy, because it must be horrible to know that your marriage is over and still have to keep hearing from your mother all the time that she “knew it would happen” and that you are a failure, etc etc. I love this idea she has for her own business and I can’t help myself when she arrives in the kitchen and Bree is hanging out trying out the sex swing. Bree was a sweetheart in the final scene, not only for deciding to support and contribute, even if invisibly, to her daughter’s business, but admitting that she is wrong to be too judgmental of her children. It’s nice to see the relationship reestablishing itself in peace with her daughter. Better late than never, right? BTW: Danielle forgetting the whole time that she was playing hide and seek with Benjamin was hilarious.

Teri Hatcher giving a SHOW and showing her full potential (once again) in the scene where she freaked out with Andre Zeller. In fact, who wouldn’t freak out, right? She went there in the greatest goodwill and hope to learn a little more about art and heard nothing but scorn and mockery. I found it utterly absurd that he was making assumptions about her life as a housewife, reinforcing a stereotype being that he was meeting her for the first time. And I think it’s good for Susan to dedicate some time of her day to art. Far from her being weak, if there’s one thing she’s proven to be on this show, it’s a strong, warrior woman, especially with EVERYTHING that happened last season – I die with the selective amnesia of her haters. Nobody knows what it’s like to carry someone’s death on their conscience, especially being someone with a good and pure heart like Susan is. Anyway, glad she was accepted, I hope she makes good use of the classes.

As Mike said, the problem with Susan and Carlos’ meetings lay in the secrets and lies she was making up. There’s nothing wrong with approaching a guy, befriending him, and from the start we know why, as both are wallowing in guilt and not getting any support. The only thing I don’t like is the moment they both run to hide from Mike inside that van, because 1) it was OBVIOUS that Mike had seen them, since he turned the car around; and 2) I really hate that “romantic” shit that came out of nowhere, when Susan said she felt Carlos’ heartbeat. How awful, how weird and how random indeed. But luckily that was it, there’s no attraction or anything like that between them.

I don’t think it’s bad for Susan to reveal the truth to Mike. Given the situation, him feeling he was being cheated on with one of his closest friends, is valid. And on top of that, it’s a way to get Susan to stop repressing those feelings and being emotionally away from her husband as she was. Mike’s reaction is strange, but I defend again that I don’t think it’s a judgment he makes of her. I think it’s just shock, because this secret is not small, it’s the death of a person and suddenly discovering that your wife has a part in it, and Susan who is so good and so correct, must not be very easy to digest.

Lynette’s arc with Lydia was really good. I loved the twist. Lynn hoping to welcome her emotionally unbalanced sister, prepared wine and ice cream so she could vent like she always does, and in the end she was the one who needed the wine and ice cream. Lydia was funny. What was her “dancing” when Lynette drove her crazy, telling her she was happy about her and Tom’s breakup? I confess I laughed a lot! Lynette going after Rashid to make peace between him and her sister was cute – I always laugh at the scare she gives the meditators when she starts singing in the tent. But the best scene was her opening up about her marriage situation, being honest, exposing her feelings. It’s still too weird to see her away from Tom for a reason like that at this point in the series, since they’ve always been together.

Lee, Jenny and Renee’s plot was very good! And with a very valid argument, both for the fears that Lee was showing, and for the scolding Renee gave him. I laugh so hard at her telling him to shut up when he whines and exposes that both he and Bob are wonderful parents. I think it’s natural for the girl to miss a female presence, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t enough for her, because they are. I just think Lee exaggerates his anger towards Renee, when he says she got into his family, when she didn’t, right? But anyway, I love this friendship. Lee and Renee are priceless together, they always make excellent scenes.

Finally, Bree’s plot. She and Gaby were wonderful as always and I loved their complicity in finding out what Chuck’s intentions were. Gaby going to the restaurant and making that effort to get the package was fun. About Chuck: I liked him, I thought he was cute, but not anymore after what happened in the last scenes. Guys, he completely transformed, as if he were someone else. I can understand him liking Bree a lot, falling in love with her and such. And I can only try to imagine how frustrating it must be for a person to be planning to propose, and a minute before getting kicked in the ass. But she is not obligated to marry him, and no one is obligated to maintain a relationship that is not going to work out, or that the person no longer wants. Apart from that they haven’t even been together that long to justify a marriage proposal and a breakup outbreak. It must have been two months, three at the most, since they started dating. Please! Grow up, Chuck!

Bree really has a bad finger for men. The best of all she’s involved in the series so far is Keith. A pity he left.

Carlos’ expression in bed after having “failed” was funny. And I found Gaby quite amusing trying to spice things up for both of them by hiring a stripper. I laughed too hard with her falling off the pole, and then the shock that Carlos got when he saw who was rolling around on his lap. Gaby asking the woman to kiss her when he got nervous was priceless. But anyway, this situation of Carlos is sad. He knows he saved Gaby, that she was about to be abused, that Alejandro was a trash human being, but a life still and no one has the right to interrupt it. For those who are good at heart, as we know he is, it is a greater burden and besides, he didn’t even have that intention. He didn’t hit Alejandro on the head to kill, so much so that he was very shocked when he saw that he had no pulse...

It’s shocking how Susan is judged for everything she does. She’s freaked out, and there’s a huge reason for that. What I said about Carlos above applies to her as well. She didn’t hit Alejandro, but she covered it up, she knows that a person died and that she has a part in it in some way. It’s not easy for anyone to deal with something like that... And I don’t even think her arc in this episode is bad, I think it’s funny that she’s trying to find ways to be punished. I laugh with her eating all those cookies and the attendant giving that “thank god” thing. But the best was with the policeman, the guy all peace and love, he didn’t even care about her ripping up his photo and throwing the pieces on the street (she was very reckless). She had to push his bike to get arrested. And it was a surprise that she called Carlos. But really among them all, he’s the only one who’s wallowing in guilt like her...

Tom was absurdly unbearable in this episode. And the most ironic thing about this arc is that in the past, they’ve had this SAME discussion, about Lynette always becoming the “bitch” for her kids, the person who says “no”, the one who stops the fun, and he’s the most liberal. At the time, he even assumed that he likes people to like him, so he’s always the “good cop”... So it was pathetic that he turned his back on Lynette at first, saying that now he doesn’t have to stand there listening to her anymore. And especially when he got his mouth full to blame her for Parker’s drinking at the party. Oh, for God’s sake, right? I understand what he said shortly after as justification, the fact that he is far away complicates the matter of being stricter. Except that a father is a father and the responsibility for Parker, Penny and Paige belongs to both of them, it’s not just Lynette’s. Just because he’s out of the house doesn’t mean he can’t have a voice over his kids anymore.

I could feel, through Marcia Cross’s FLAWLESS performance, Bree’s despair, fear and anguish in the opening scene, right after reading the letter. She was restless talking to Karen and then when she sat down, with that expression, for fear that her fate would be the same as Mary Alice. Man... That was strong. Well, this thing is really weird, because the letter is certainly about what the girls did, but I can’t understand why Bree was the only one to be threatened like this, since she wasn’t even the one who gave Alejandro the fatal blow . Paul mentioning the letter to Chuck must have been just a coincidence, as it would be too obvious that he was the author – especially considering we’re only at the beginning of the season.

Gaby let me down with the words she used when Bree showed her the letter. It’s absurd that she would prefer that Bree had hidden the letter to deal with this alone, it seems like she doesn’t remember what happened to Mary Alice and how things could have been different if she had been honest. But I liked that both decided to omit Susan and Lynette, because of the inconvenience they are already going through.

Finally, Renee trying to please Ben was too good! I laugh so hard at the show she puts on with Karen to make him think she likes old people. And in the end he was really teasing her when he took her to serve food at the community center. Anyway, it was fun!

It’s the beginning of the end. The grip I feel when I start this season is always the same, in a great intensity. I’m so attached to the series and the characters, when it comes time to say goodbye again, I go into pre-finale depression. And this season starts very well, on top of that alluding to the first, giving the idea that it will end as it started.

As I said before, it is very interesting and different to see the main characters tucked inside the central “mystery” of the season. This time, the four of them with an active and direct participation, and not trying to unravel some secret of a new neighbor, but trying to cover up a crime in favor of a family. And I think it’s really good how they show their first reactions to this gigantic problem. If, on the one hand, Bree appears a little more imposing because of her convictions, that they must protect Carlos and Gaby because Alejandro is a “bad man”, Lynette and Susan evoke panic and guilt in the first moments of the scene in forest. Gaby, on the other hand, shows the fear that all that will go wrong and her husband will end up being sent to jail for ridding the world of a pedophile rapist like her ex-stepfather. Still, they make this pact – the scene of the four of them putting their hands on top of each other, in front of the dug grave, is great.

Maybe it’s even wiser to keep a detective like Chuck close by, because that way Bree can stay on top of any news that might come up on the matter, like, for example, the search for the family we know he has, thanks to the call he got when was being buried. But it’s also a wrong choice, because they get very nervous around him and he’s no fool. That scene with Alejandro’s car was very funny, Gaby not being able to drive, then chewing tobacco and feeling bad, I laughed so hard! But when Chuck showed up and decided he was going to take the car, they exuded nervousness at the excuses they made for the men’s accessories in the car - as Gaby said, they could have just said that “Aunt Shirley” was married and shared her car with her husband. . Anyway, it was very lucky that the robber showed up at that moment to take the car and Chuck didn’t notice any strange movements. At least that evidence, they no longer have...

I don’t judge any character for feeling guilty, because for me it’s unimaginable to carry something like that on my back. Even if it is Alejandro, a bad person, without character, capable of harming children, a rapist, a disgusting worm... What weighs more is that it is a life and no one has the right to take it away. That’s why I understand Carlos is martyring himself and even more so, because now he can’t even turn himself in to the police (if he wants to), as it would mean severe punishment for all involved, innocent people. I love Gaby for trying to free him from this, I thought the scene between the two of them at the end was very beautiful, when she exposed the fear she always felt of this damn worm and now she’s not afraid of him anymore. And she grants forgiveness for what Carlos did. I hope he can get through this, as complicated as it is – maybe impossible. BTW: Gaby was amazing throughout the entire episode. Talking about the new neighbor and introducing herself as Susan. Then giving the new priest exactly what he wanted, revealing about kissing two girls in college. And of course, the kidnapping of Father Dugan’s van.

Speaking of the new neighbor: I laugh so hard with Renee going to Ben’s house offering “coffee” and he refuses in that mocking way.

The worst case of guilt is Susan, right? She even disconnected from the girls and I found that so sad. Because it’s just now, that they share this secret with each other, that they need to stay together, providing support for each other. Even so, she yielded great scenes, I always laugh at the drama she makes when she goes to bury Cupcake at school. And honestly? I agree that she should tell Mike. He’s already been through this, he killed in self-defense, obviously he won’t go out and tell anyone and maybe it will be of great help to her, apart from that it will prevent her from being so reclusive inside her own house. What was discussed later, about the fact that husbands don’t know, means that they can’t be implicated if the bomb goes off makes sense. But I don’t know...

And finally, Lynette... What was that nightmare sequence, man? The series has never shown anything like this before and it was perfect, in the exact tone of terror with Alejandro walking up the stairs covered in dirt and blood, opening the door to her room. About the divorce plot: TOO SAD! And even more to see Tom’s face lighting up at the end, believing that they would get back together and start working to solve their marital problems, only for Lynette to cut his joy with that excuse of having had a nightmare. Absolutely understandable for him to get angry and decide to expose the situation there once and for all to the children. Lynette needs to understand that either she needs him or she doesn’t. For me, there is no such thing as not wanting him in the house, not wanting to get back together, but wanting him to be across the street. There’s no middle ground for something like that.

Lastly, I LOVE the pool scene. It’s so funny, crazy Gaby jumping on Susan and making her fall into the pool. And Bree jumping too, pretending she lost and found her earring.

Which brings us to the final scene. I can’t help but get goosebumps when Bree opens that letter and sees its contents. “I know what you did, it makes me sick, I’m going to tell”. The Mary Alice situation again. Too cool to bring this back in almost the same circumstances as season 1. It’s up in the air: who sent this, and what exactly does that person know?

Susan all gleeful to be back on Wisteria Lane, wanting to escape the moving boxes to find her friends, and all of them slamming the door in her face! PRICELESS. I laugh a lot at her expressions whenever a door was closed, she was dying to tell about what happened in the confrontation between Felicia and Paul. Anyway, I’m really happy that she’s finally able to come home, after a whole season with her life turned upside down by financial problems, health problems and finally, incriminations. I really loved the girls organizing themselves to have a welcome dinner, nice idea of each meal being served in one of the houses. And finally, Susan’s speech about the importance of friendship was wonderful.

It’s so strange to see the Scavo marriage falling apart like this. Because they have always supported each other before (even in the midst of disagreements), this giant rupture between them is sad, because there is a discouragement and unwillingness to fix things. Let’s face it, it didn’t take much effort from both of them, during the trip they couldn’t be alone, they commented that on the way back, they didn’t exchange a word... And it was very difficult to hear Lynette admit that she didn’t despair when she realized that Tom was gone, but that she felt relief. Dude... The size of the chasm between them widens even further. And to think that it all started because of this job that Tom didn’t even want to take. Tom changed his stance, became more materialistic. Anyway... I didn’t want that to happen (my reaction is the same as Renee’s), but the way it is, there was really no way to keep this strange, heavy atmosphere inside the house. It’s just to see how things turn out for the two of them now...

I have fun with Bree thinking that spending a lot of money at Doreen’s store would make her happy and ready to sign a divorce, and I loved that look with the “exotic” clothes for Fairview. She could have come up with a better and more convincing excuse when she accidentally said the woman’s name, too... Anyway, Chuck finally put that bullshit about saving himself for sex aside! Who cares if Doreen would be pissed? Who cheated when marriage vows were supposed to be respected, was she, right? I was breathless when Chuck came home all sweaty. In addition to being beautiful, he has such a body! I don’t judge Bree for barely being able to contain herself!! And I die with her letting the food burn because she was having sex. For the first time in history, she allowed such a thing to happen! She was too distracted by his body... Who wouldn’t be?!

Gaby was brave, deciding to take Alejandro to the woods to confront him. And he was very quiet, afraid of the gun, right? damn pig. The guy is so bad-tempered, so bad, that he decided to go back to Wisteria Lane to take advantage of her AGAIN. Seriously, I don’t even have the words to describe how disgusted I am when he says that Gaby was a “little bitch” at 15 for wearing miniskirts and blouses. That he felt like laughing when she told him she was a virgin. And worse: that she liked what he did. FUCK, what a human dump. Carlos heard all that, he arrived just in time. Imagine if he hadn’t arrived, what would the worm have done to Gaby?

Alejandro got what he deserved. But it’s just too frustrating to know what this death might mean for Gaby and Carlos, given that he was a man who had done a lot of harm to her and was willing to do it again. The girls arriving on time and Bree taking the lead, deciding they were going to hide everything… Look at the level of complicity these women have, man. Other than that it gives an interesting idea for the final season. The series started with the girls together trying to discover Mary Alice’s secret - and in the following seasons, some of them ended up getting directly involved in the mystery plot, so this search for the truth on their part always existed. Now, they are at the center of the “mystery”, with a hairy secret to cover up. The four housewives directly involved in a crime, and for the first time we are going to follow this process to hide something...

I have to say: what an irony with Carlos. He spent the last few episodes hating Bree for covering up for Andrew. He didn’t call her by her name. And now she’s also decided to protect him. It was nice to see him holding her hand in the last scene. It was unusual for forgiveness to come like this, but it is valid anyway.

I love this season and I will protect it. I love Renee, I think her inclusion is wonderful, a character that works in comic strips and works with each of the girls - in this episode she was PRICELESS feeling that anger over Doug’s marriage, I died laughing with her performance on the piano.

I can’t believe we’re already heading into the final season.

How angry I am with this old bastard who is Gaby’s stepfather. What does this little bastard want, hanging around her house, chasing her into the supermarket? Her expression when she saw him in the hallway, and especially when she recognized him from the security cameras, says a lot. It was a mixture of surprise, fear, anguish... And it’s not for less, since we know what that pig did to her. I liked that soon after that she totally lost her fear of using the gun and went after shooting lessons, anyone in her place would do the same, I believe. After all, he sure wants some trouble. He faked his own death and now he resurfaces in this mysterious way, surrounding her. She better beware.

Tom and Lynette’s “alone” trip to try to solve the problems was a huge fiasco, because they couldn’t be alone. I was even embarrassed for the couple they met, having to witness the Scavo teasing each other all the time. And I don’t think there’s anyone “less wrong” in this story. As I said before, Lynette is super controlling and has always been full of jokes about Tom himself, everyone here knows. It’s no surprise that he said she was making fun of the ring when she went to show it to someone, and she admitted it herself. Besides, who did the job incentive come from? Her. And she was aiming for a comfortable and luxurious life, see when they got into that big car she rented to “incriminate” Carlos and stated with all the letters that “that life could be his”. On the other hand, Tom did change, because this guy who keeps talking only about money and caring about material goods doesn’t look anything like the character he used to be. You know, buying a nice thing every now and then, upgrading it like he did with the ring, I think it’s common. After all, he’s earning really well, he’s getting rich... But becoming stingy is unnecessary.

So both Lynette and Tom are partly to blame for the breakdown in their marriage, which at the moment appears to be irreversible. And I will always be VERY sorry for them being so estranged emotionally, as among all the main couples, to this day they were the only ones who never really broke up. Gaby has already divorced Carlos. Susan divorced Mike. Bree has been with George, Orson and Keith. And Lynette and Tom have ALWAYS been together, for better or for worse. Sad that at this point they are so close, yet so far from each other.

Lee having erotic thoughts inside Bree’s house, with her present, fantasizing about her boyfriend... I laugh so hard! Second time he leaves one of the main ones embarrassed - the first time was with Gaby when she said that Bob would “turn” Carlos. Chuck being recognized and even harassed at the gay club, help me! I found the story of how he broke off his friendship with his former partner, whom he considered a brother, to be sad. I just thought it was kind of silly that he can’t have sex again so he doesn’t give his wife a taste, only when the divorce comes out. But what the fuck? They are already separated and the process has been underway for at least a year – according to him. He shouldn’t care that she’s going to claim that he’s no better than her because he also slept with someone else, because there’s no marriage anymore. When it was important, he didn’t. Then...

Finally, we have the outcome of this Paul and Felicia plot, which has lasted since the 2nd season. And I really like it, I think it had a proper development this season. I think Paul in general is a very complex and interesting character. At the beginning of the series he wasn’t thought of as a bad man. We know he killed Martha on impulse, because she really was a horrible person and was very mean in her words when she gloated over Mary Alice’s death because of the letter SHE wrote. He was a little rough with Zach, but it was the fear that the secret would be discovered—a secret that Mary Alice killed herself to protect. But he wasn’t bad. Imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit, he became an even more bitter and spiteful man. I think he works for the first half of the season as a villain, I think his plan against Wisteria Lane is ingenious and successful, although people haven’t been intrigued forever. And the script took care of showing, little by little, a more human side of him. Like when he vented to Beth about feeling hate all the time and a need to get rid of it.

We had a debate about whether anyone really cares about him, since he almost died from a gunshot wound by his son, found out his wife lied about her identity and all. There were well-defined nuances. The inclusion of Susan in his plot only reinforced the construction of the plot and of Paul as a character, as she tried to see him as he was before all the bad things happened, when he was a happy man, and even lit the way for him to redeem himself. I have nothing to complain about this outcome. Even though I thought Martha didn’t deserve his effort to confess (because we know he’s going to spend the rest of his life in prison now), I think it’s good that he takes responsibility and decides to take the consequences.

Felicia is a character that I LOVE to hate. For me, she’s always worked as a villain, since she appeared all eccentric on Wisteria Lane, from when she started setting Paul up in season 2, until her climax now in 7, with the food poisoning and all the setup to kill Paul and screw up Susan’s life at the same time – who was always very naive, let’s face it. And her ending couldn’t be more ironic! Beth took it upon herself to take her mother out of circulation.

I guess Susan didn’t expect her life to be turned upside down again when that surprising run of luck ran out. Because, man, she practically went back to square one, right? I already thought Paul’s reaction in the last episode was too absurd when he practically threw her out of the house, he was exaggerated because she didn’t say anything offensive, she didn’t give any orders, she just made a suggestion. And again this has happened now. I don’t blame him or judge him for, at first glance, concluding that she was poisoning him. After all, the test he had on his food came back positive, the symptoms of antifreeze poisoning started a long time ago, and the only things he eats come from her hands.

But Paul could have talked, waited, and done some thinking on his own. Her reaction when she said “no, I do it myself” already indicates that she noticed something! Apart from that, he could ask himself: what does Susan gain by wanting his death? With a young child at home, would she risk arrest for murder and spend the rest of her life in jail? After all this inconvenience spent the whole season? She even ran to school and warned everyone that the cookies were poisoned, a reaction from someone who didn’t know about this situation. It was sad to see her being arrested, because in addition to knowing about her innocence, she just wanted to help. She was the only one who reached out to him. Felicia was insightful. Though Susan can accuse her, she can’t prove anything. All this time she’s been poisoning Paul through someone else and she won’t be held accountable.

Lynette’s behavior doesn’t surprise me at all, because she has ALWAYS been authoritative with Tom, she always wanted to make the main decisions, to be ahead of everything. And Tom always allowed it. Remember the episode where he talked about it with Roy? The reason he let her get ahead of everything? Well then. It turns out that now he is imposing himself a little more. He’s not looking to take control, “run” the family, or whatever. He’s just trying to make his opinions known. It was the height of exaggeration for Lynette to be irritated that he had prepared a travel itinerary. Who gets pissed off at the husband getting 1st class tickets to spend less than a week in a paradise place? For the love of God. And to think he didn’t even want this job, Lynette pushed Tom in every way (again, controlling him) and worst of all, she KNOWS how a job like that demands a person, because they’re both professionals in the same area. I love Lynette with all my strength, but her authoritarianism has crossed the line and in the midst of it all, I only fear for the rupture between her and Tom, which is increasingly evident. The fight they had was really heavy, I felt sorry for Penny for witnessing everything...

I have so much fun with Gaby. She allowed Juanita to see the film and then wanted Carlos, who objected to her watching, to sleep outside with the girl. She is priceless. I laughed so hard at the scare Lee gave them, Gaby screaming in fear was priceless. But in the end Juanita was right, she was scared because there really was a man hanging around the house. He’s there, and he’s watching Gaby. He’s creepy as hell, standing with that hat, looking right at her, and she not realizing it. Who is this man and what does he want?

Oh, I think Chuck is very handsome! And I really like the conflict between him and Bree in this episode. She throws at him that she did some research and found he omitted some things, then he does the same and they both get angry at their hypocrisy! Even more in that scene where he picks up the prostitute on the street to take her to the shelter, I laugh so much at the way she widens her eyes and asks “how dare you?” when he tells the girl that Bree was also from the street 10 years ago. Marcia Cross is just a charm. Anyway, I liked that they understood each other and went out on a second date. I think Chuck is cute and since the interest is mutual...
