I wrote these lyrics and arranged "The Place I'll Return to Someday" (Terra Theme by Nobuo Uematsu) for vocals, keyboards, guitar and drums. It took me two weeks, but I think it came out well. HA HA HA Finally! I finished my own version of this beautiful song from Final Fantasy IX!!! I hope you all like it okay! It took a whole month longer than I would have liked, but the end result, well, just listen!
^0^ I used a lot of vocal layering and performed the violin, drum, and guitar parts as well!
I didn't want to do a video for this one, mostly because I found incredible fan art online from many talented artists and decided to make this a full fan creation! ^0^ I always LOVE feedback of any kind, so if you have any please comment!
*I dedicate this video to the character of Freya, because of all the characters this song's words and meaning fit her inner struggle the best. ^_^

I wrote the lyrics to this beautiful theme from FF9 and worked very hard arranging this song for voice, harp, guitar, various drums, and recorder! I performed all the instrumental parts in the background and am doing all the vocals.

In the lyrics I used the term Rose of May as a metaphor for innocence. Even the great General Beatrix was once an innocent child who'd never seen the horrors of war. I really tried to put her character into the lyrics; her blind loyalty and sense of duty, her guilt over the many deaths she caused in the name of fealty,
and her eventual love for Steiner. ^_^

I sang the melody for this completely a cappella on a whim, and it sounded good, so I arranged and added instruments on top to create this fan vocal. Because of the strongly Okinawan influence of FFX's world, I tried to make my recorder sound like a shakuhachi flute, and my drums sound more traditional. The accompaniment is sparse to let the beauty of the melody shine through. ^_^

With the video: I finally got the "high quality" (thanks to someone very nice who helped me out!!!) But, after watching both versions, I noticed that the sound quality is actually BETTER in the standard quality vid. So...I guess watch both ways to see and hear the best versions! o_o

This was and wasn't a quickie....The arrangement has been done for a long time, but the lyrics weren't done till just recently.
