Noctua fans are the best. This one is optimized for heatsinks that have 120mm mounting holes & big fins to benefit from 140mm fan blades!

Coil whine can be caused by video cards, motherboards, power supplies, or even slight incompatibilities between these items :(

NZXT's Kraken X40 is the next generation of self-contained CPU liquid coolers. More surface area gives it more cooling performance than 120mm liquid coolers.

PCIe expansion is (imo) the best reason for Thunderbolt to exist. I'm SOOO excited about where this technology will take us in the future as compatibility improves and Thunderbolt gets even faster!

Silverstone's HE01 cooler innovates in a couple of key ways. Awesome retention mechanisms make it much easier for me to recommend coolers, but the way that they've allowed a massive dual tower heatsink to still accommodate 4 high profile dimms is even more awesome!

The Tai Chi 31 is a larger version of the existing Tai Chi 21. Both of them allow users to switch between notebook mode and tablet mode using a double sided screen!

ASUS has unleashed the Ares II, a dual 7970 GPU graphics card

The Obsidian 900D has finally been unveiled. They have created the most flexible, over-the-top gaming & enthusiast chassis on the market.

The Transformer AIO P1810 runs both Windows 8 and Android! It has a full desktop computer inside it, then you can detach the screen and use it as an Android tablet. You can even use wifi to stream your windows desktop to it!

The TX300 Transformer Book allows you to use it as a regular Windows 8 tablet, then attach it to a dock for more connections, extra battery life, and even an additional hard drive!

With the G46VW ASUS has taken a leadership position in the portable gaming space providing a GTX660M, a powerful processor, and dual drives in a 14" shell.

The CG8480 is a high performance Ivy Bridge machine with a GTX 680. The CG8890 is the "over the top" RoG style desktop that will turn heads. Both machines feature an auto overclocking button, but the CG8890 also has motors inside that open up when you push the button!

We don't have many details about the RAIDR Express yet, but we are very exciting to see even more categories coming from ASUS as they do such a good job of everything they touch.

The Zenbook touch is an upgrade to the existing Zenbook that adds multi-touch input without adding a significant amount of additional thickness or weight.

The new M65, M95, and K95 Corsair Vengeance peripherals bring a lot of things to the table that fans of Corsair have been asking for, they listened and delivered! More colours, higher sensitivity, and the most custom backlight ever!

Asus has delivered a strong and viable AC solution wrapped up in their AC66 package, The raw power of AC demands more than most solutions currently on the market, Asus took note of that and brought all their chips to the table with this beast.

Slick's first shot at hosting one of our CES coverage segments. Make sure you tweet him @SlickPC to let him know how it went!

The QUBE from ASUS is an Android device, and comes with a very awesome remote that has a trackpad, voice input, and a full keyboard on the back.

This MB168 monitor weighs almost nothing, and the final version will be capable of auto-rotation and will have an ambient light sensor!

The SC77 Touch from Samsung should help with the ergonomics of using a touch screen on the desktop. It's multi-touch and it folds down to an angle where it won't be as fatiguing to use as a completely upright monitor.

The Galaxy Camera from Samsung comes pre-loaded with Android Jellybean and due to its custom software is capable of a lot of sweet functionality that you just wouldn't see with a normal camera including sophisticated "helpers" for non-camera people, and manual settings for shutterbugs.

Sony put up a picture of newsprint side-by-side on their 4K and 1080p models of TVs to demonstrate the improved clarity that can be achieveed with 4K.

OLED TV's are getting closer to being something you can actually buy, but this Sony TV won't be available on shelves for a while

Slick covers the new professional display from Samsung that operates in portrait mode & some sweet headphones. Diesel also makes an appearance.

Sony was kind enough to tell us a little bit about the cameras that are going to enable everyone from travelling videographers to professional studios to shoot in 4K including a compact 4K model that no one seems to know much about.

The Xperia Z is one of the most impressive demos that we was at the show. Not only are the specs of it just plain awesome, but they had one running in a showcase that had a button to let you dunk it into the water while it was running!

Steelseries launched the Apex and Apex RAW, with the goal of legitimately making their customers better gamers. They are full programmable (every button) and the new & improved Steelseries software allows you to track which buttons you use most frequently while you're gaming to optimize for travel times.

Peter tells us about an upcoming headset and shows off their NAOS 8200 premium gaming mouse at CES 2013.

Flexible OLED displays are here. Sort of. In theory Sharp could manufacture these today if a customer wanted to implement them. So cool to see stuff that was space-age when I was a kid becoming reality.

Razer's Sabertooth feels much more rugged than the now-discontinued Onza and should hold up to pretty much any abuse you throw at it. It's got an intuitive software-free way of programming buttons, and is worth a look for console gamers and PC gamers alike.

Sharp is showing off their "moth eye" TV finish, which allows you to have the contrast of a glossy screen without the HIGHLY reflective downside that usually comes with those TVs.

We are very excited about the Steelseries Flux In-Ear Pro. This set of earbuds has a non-tangle cord that actually doesn't tangle, and balanced armature design with 7mm drivers at a very aggressive price point!

Alex is back on the show AGAIN and he's here to show us the evolution of the Twin Frozr series of graphics card coolers, as well as a couple of hot new motherboards. IB-E anyone?

LG was very proud to show off this 55" TV that is as thin as 3-4 credit cards at the edges, and weighs only 20 pounds!

LG is also talking a fair bit about their "magic remote" which has a motion controller built in as well as universal remote functionality!

The Orbweaver from Razer is fully programmable, compatible with Synapse 2.0, is adjustable for everything from "Linus size" to "Slick size" and also feels very rugged.

Intel now has a premium smartphone platform and a value platform available. They were showing off a variety of devices including the new Motorola Razer i.

LG had a HUGE pryamid showcase with a ton of these things. This is very exciting for movie-watching and productivity!

Mitsubish is showing off a 40 point touch display that they are claiming can be had for the value price of about $10,000 once it's available!

Intel's booth is always a very cool look into the future of technology. This year they are showing how we are eventually going to be interacting with our computers in much the same way we now interact with people.

I think the two most impressive things were MSI's slider S20 tablet/Ultrabook at the end of the video, and the Quadro based notebook models. Very cool stuff!

Razer is showing off its Edge & Edge Pro Gaming tablets. They are a little thicker than a normal tablet, but they are capable of running modern generation games (albiet at reduced settings). They also showed off some cool accessories to go with them!

Both of these sturdy notebooks have best-in-class GPUs in them, allowing awesome portability & performance.

Silverstone is showing off new magnetic fan filters, mobile charging accessories, and a sweet case for Intel's ultra-compact PC platform

Not only do we show off Silverstone's new Fortress & Raven cases, but also a prototype spill-proof & dust-proof concept case, and their new dual monitor arm mount for LCDs!

Sennheiser has refreshed their super high end headphones in both an open and closed flavour. They also have a more mainstream/mobile oriented headphone that they are extremely proud of

Pelican is well known for their practically indestructible cases, but they're expanding into some different markets. We checked out some phone cases, and iPad case, and even a new backpack.

The Sphero has been available for a little while now, but this is my first chance to try it hands on, and this is the first time they're demoing their augmented reality software for it.

BenQ has some cool stuff in their booth including a touch screen TV, their new console gaming MLG monitor, a short throw 3D projector, and some home lighting solutions.

More options is rarely a bad thing for consumers, and there's a new game in town when it comes to mobile OS!

Turtle Beach has made the bold claim that the Seven series is the most powerful gaming audio solution ever. The headphones seem solidly built, but it's the external mixer that really got our attention.

Project Shield is NVIDIA's Android-based, Tegra-powered handheld gaming console with the unique ability to accept a low latency wireless video input stream from a GeForce equipped PC. That means it can run Android games that are installed on the device itself, or it can run Windows games by relying on the computer to do the heavy lifting processing the game!

Thermaltake launched the Tt esports brand to produce and market products that go beyond the traditional confines of the PC tower.

Swiftech wasn't content to release its new product and show its performance. They wanted to demonstrate in a real, repeatable fashion that it smokes the competition.

CM Storm by Cooler Master might be the only "mainstream" company bringing the fight to Filco and Ducky when it comes to offering a WIDE variety of mechanical keyboards. They are even bringing a product to market with Cherry MX GREEN switches. They feel kinda like heavy blues. There's some other stuff too.

Linksys has a refreshed line up of wireless AC products. all of them have at least Wireless N 300, gigabit ethernet, and a three antenna design for Wireless AC on the 5GHz band.

The main highlight of this video is the BMW mouse from Tt esports in their suite at CES 2013

Antec & the sub-brand A.M.P. (Antec Mobile Products) had quite a few things on display. The most notable were the White P280 with a window, the value gaming case with a surprising price tag, and the variety of mobile accessories.

Have you ever wanted to build your own DIY all in one PC? This new standard on display in Gigabyte's suite will enable such a thing! They also showed a PC with onboard graphics and dual Thunderbolt ports running 4K video content!

OCZ's booth was pretty straightforward and focused on their new Vector consumer SSD, as well as their new Linux SSD caching technology for enterprise drives.

The COUCHMASTER takes gaming to the next level. They showed me this thing and I had to check it out. Surprisingly it's not actually that expensive (as long as you don't have to pay too much shipping from Germany)

With the FLUX In-Ear Pro headphones Steelseries has demonstrated that they are srs bsns when it comes to audio. These are miles better than your department store ear buds, and even compared to auidophile grade equipment they are no lame duck!!

Mionix has released the NAOS 8200, based on the latest sensor technology allowing this mouse to track at up to 8200 DPI. With proven ergonomics, and 16.8M different lighting colours available, no bells or whistles were excluded.

This unboxing of the 8X from HTC covers most of the hardware stuff, but I'll be doing a series of blog videos about my 30-day attempt to switch from iPhone to Windows Phone 8. Stay tuned!

The Phantom 630 is very similar to its bigger brother the Phantom 820, but comes in at a much lower price point!

Swiftech is my go-to guy for water cooling stuff. Reasonable prices, great performance, proven reliability. They've stood behind their products so many times that I just inherently trust them.

This is the first time I've seen UV LED strips available in a PC-friendly form factor. AWESOME.

Sorry this video came a little late. It got lost in the archive somewhere.

It's finally here. We've spent a lot of time on this. I'm not sure if the results are what I was expecting (in fact, I know they're not) but here they are!

You can use this as a guide for how to benchmark Far Cry 3. Test your own hardware and see how it compares to what we're using!

Far Cry 3 - We tell you the best graphics card around $100, $200, and $300!

I hope you enjoy this little tutorial. In our example we forward emails from Hotmail to Gmail so that we can use the Gmail interface to read and reply to emails sent to a Hotmail account. These same principles can be applied to other email services :)

The Netgear Centria Router takes the whole "router" concept and gets serious about adding storage to it.

The Leetgion El'Druin is optimized for RPGs (particularly Diablo III) to the point where unless you play the game you probably won't want it, but if you do... Things start to get interesting.

TN LCD panel monitors. Yes, they're fast for gaming. This is why I personally won't use them though.

The Vivobook from ASUS is a value oriented Ultrabook that doesn't skimp on the features!

File encryption is a great way to keep files safe from nosy folks or potential thieves.

The BCC950 is a professional grade webcam that comes in a price point that will be very appealing to small businesses.

The Lenovo Yoga 11 takes the concept of "notebook & tablet in one" and turns it upside down!

The Vivotab Smart addresses any complaints I might have had about Windows tablets. It runs Windows 8 instead of Windows RT, and has respectable battery life!

The HD PVR2 2 Gaming Edition comes with everything you need to get started recording gameplay videos or other screen captures.

The Acer Aspire S7 is one of the most beautifully crafted notebooks I've ever encountered. Editor's Choice award.

Dominator Lightbar in blue... This memory from Corsair goes beyond sexy.

Samsung 840 SSD Unboxing - This drive is perfect for mainstream users who don't need the fastest of the fastest. Those folks can go buy an 840 Pro!

Corsair H110 unboxing - This is pretty much as good as it gets for pre-made liquid coolers!

The Acer Aspire M is part of a new rush of Ultrabooks that come pre-loaded with Windows 8, and have the touchscreen interface that I find to be a very important part of the Win 8 experience.

Starcraft 2 - We tell you the best graphics card around $100, $200, $300, and $400!

You can use this as a guide for how to benchmark Starcraft 2. Test your own hardware and see how it compares to what we're using!

The One S is only the 3rd phone unboxing we've ever done. I hope you enjoy it!

This unboxing of the ASUS ARES II video card is pretty much the best one. Okay, maybe it's not the best one, but it's the one I did so I hope you enjoy it.

This HTC 8S Unboxing was my first impressions. For more impressions make sure you check out the writting article linked below :)

This Orbweaver unboxing should pretty much show you everything you need to know about the product. Time to get one...

The Titan from NVIDIA's GTX lineup of video cards is unlike anything we've ever seen before. I actually wrote a fair amount about it on LinusTechTips.com. Check out the link below:

GeForce GTX Titan enables gamers to build tiny, elite gaming machines with off the shelf components. It's so quiet, and so efficient that even a small ITX case with limited ventilation is enough!

Want to overclock the refresh rate of your monitor? Got a Titan? This is how you do it!

In this video we show how we'll be testing this ridiculous beast of a GPU including our stable of monitors, our modded UPS, and our microphone setup for recording acoustics.

If you want to know the size of a Titan relative to some other cards you might have seen before, we compare it to a 560 Ti, and a reference 650 Ti in addition to the cards in the description.

Watch this video to see Titan benchmarked by Linus.

Titan vs Ares 2 - It's the battle of Mount Olympus! But seriously, these are some wicked graphics cards in hot games like Crysis 3 & Far Cry 3 at high resolution 2560x1600. ENJOY!

GTX Titan Performance in the hottest titles including Crysis 3 and Far Cry 3.

Overclock your GTX Titan or any other graphics card featuring GPU Boost 2.0!

This card with its 6GB of VRAM is BUILT for surround gaming, but perhaps the surround games are quite ready for it...

I guess if you're going to have the fastest graphics core on the planet, you might as well play games in 3D with it...

Okay, not scientific in any way for the acoustics part, but if nothing else it gives you an idea of the quality of the sound coming from the coolers of these cards.

Corsair H90 unboxing - This takes everything that's good about a single 120mm radiator liquid cooler and makes it better! More surface area means more cooling!

These radiators are all copper from the tubes to the fins to the plugs that go in the G1/4 standard threaded holes. That makes them heavier than other products, but theoretically slightly higher performing.

Alphacool's gorgeous polished stainless steel & copper creation is simply stunning.

Showing off the powder coated finish on my freshly painted TJ07 :)

You can use this as a guide for how to benchmark Crysis 3. Test your own hardware and see how it compares to what we're using!

This is how wireless 802.11 AC adapters are supposed to perform. Love it.

This thing is awesome. Review coming pretty soon, but wow... You are going to be impressed...

Very unique mouse. never seen anything quite like the Leetgion Hellion.

The personal rig will be coming to life hopefully within the next week or so. I'm trying to find 30-60 minutes to work on it every couple of days.

The Logitech T650 wireless touch pad is a premium glass multi-touch device that is intended to augment your existing keyboard/mouse.

Cleaning out a radiator - vinegar flush & distilled cleanse is the way to go :)

The iFixIt Pro Tech Toolkit is awesome. It comes with all the stuff you need to take apart mobile devices and all kinds of other electronics.

The Windows Phone 8 vs iOS 30 day trial is now over! Watch the video for the stunning conclusion.

Crysis 3 - We tell you the best graphics card around $100, $200, $300, and $400+

Corsair's H90 and H110 water coolers have made quite the... "splash" on the market. They feature single 140mm and dual 140mm cooling fans respectively for massive surface area.

It's an oldie, but a goodie. The TJ10 from Silverstone is one of the most beautifully built cases out there, and I'm really excited about an upcoming build that I'm going to be doing in this one!

Thermaltake Water Extreme 2.0 Water Cooler Performance Review

The 840 Pro is the highest performing SSD out there right now. Check out the unboxing :)

This Roccat ISKU FX unboxing tells you pretty much everything you need to know about this gaming keyboard.

FX vs i5 showdown time! Find out which is a better choice for $200, the FX-8350 from AMD or the i5 3570K from Intel!

The M5 Pro Xtreme is a tweaked version of the M5 Pro and now features over 100,000 random IOPS.

You can use this as a guide for how to benchmark Battlefield 3. Test your own hardware and see how it compares to what we're using!

Battlefield 3 - We tell you the best graphics card around $100, $200, $300, and $400+

Broken monitor... Broken man... Wife already kaiboshed my 4K monitor schemes, and I gave her my 1920x1200 monitor when I upgraded to 30" so it's back to 1080p for me :(

This is one ballin' reservoir from Phobya. It featured solid brass construction with GOLD plating! Love it!

2013x145 HTC One Unboxing

2013x145 HTC One Unboxing

  • 2013-03-17T22:00:00Z8m

HTC One Unboxing. Perhaps the finest smartphone ever?

We install and expand the Swiftech H220 water cooler in this premium gaming rig.

We take the fastest single GPU card out there and match it up with FOUR different platforms including the FX-8350, 3770K, 3960X, and a last generation 875K to see how they all stack up!

The W700 tablet, just like the S7 notebook just blows away my expectations of Acer build quality. The tooling is immaculate and the device feels superb in my hands. It's a touch heavy, but it's very powerful compared to other tablets and delivers decent battery life as well!

The AXP-100 is perfect for small form factor builds where you still want silence and performance. Thermalright quality and mounting hardware is among the best in the industry. We used this for our ITX Titan build which you can see below:

Had some hands-on time with the Galaxy Note 8. Obviously it's no S4, but still exciting right???

This was a really cool opportunity I had to spend some time with the folks at Samsung and have them explain their KNOX technology to me. It basically segments your phone into a "work zone" that your IT department can manage and a "personal zone" that they can't touch. Watch the video for more details.

The Wireless Plus has actually been in use for a while since this video was filmed. It's much more mature than the last generation product, and of course features double the capacity. It's got a seriously upgraded UI, and we're actually going to be using it for a very special project for Seagate!

The Otterbox Armor phone case. This is both an unboxing and a torture test/destruction video of the iPhone 4 version.

APPLE TV UNBOXING! BRING ON THE DISLIKES!

The Roccat Kone XTD has support for their Roccat Talk feature as well as some of the coolest lighting effects we've ever seen.

2013x159 GTX 650 Ti Boost Unboxing

  • 2013-03-26T22:00:00Z8m

The GeForce GTX 650 Ti from NVIDIA has been UNBOXED! Okay so it's a lame box, but the card itself is good!!

NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost fills in the gap between the GTX 650 Ti and the GTX 660 both in terms of price and performance

At $300 the Pelican Urban Elite U100 backpack isn't cheap, but when you consider what a normal laptop backpack that ISN'T waterproof or crush-proof costs, then I guess it's not such a stretch to consider spending the extra.

Gaming performance in Windows 7 vs Windows 8 gets an in-depth in this 3rd installment of our 3570K vs FX-8350 performance analysis. This episode featuring.... UPSIDE DOWN BABIES! Dislike the video for bad parenting :)

Slim bezel monitors. We need more of them. There is no excuse for manufacturers being capable of building a phone display with a non-existent bezel and not being able to do it on a PC monitor! The H236HL bid is a step in the right direction.

The ASUS G46VW has been unboxed... OUTDOORS!

The MeMO Pad is a low priced tablet that includes SD expansion, but suffers in terms of specs compared to the higher priced Nexus 7

Gaming performance in Windows 7 vs Windows 8 with anti-aliasing gets examined in PART 4 of our 3570K vs FX-8350 performance showdown series.

Want a League of Legends mouse??? The Razer Naga Hex might be the perfect one!

The M65 from Corsair is available in three different colours and takes the excellent ergonomic shape of the M60 and upgrades it with a serious 8200DPI sensor and some other neat tricks.

Okay so it doesn't come like that out of the box, but Silverstone has what I think are the best quality replacement modular cables on the market.

Ice Modz is a very small company that sent us their LED lighting strips to check out. They also do very high quality sleeving projects.

Okay so the Modmic installation guide is more of a "what not to do" because you should be much more careful than I was when I rushed through it on camera, but I've taken another crack at it since then (fortunately they include TWO mounting points for people like me) and I really like this thing. Will do a follow up video on mic quality at some point.

The M95 from Corsair is available in two different colours and takes the excellent ergonomic shape of the M90 and upgrades it with a serious 8200DPI sensor and some other neat tricks.

This includes the Banshee, Spectre, and Marauder gaming peripherals from Razer. If you get the matching set you've got yourself covered for mouse, keyboard, AND headset.

The winners of this contest: http://linustechtips.com/main/news-reviews-article-guides/linus-videos-news-and-ramblings/131354-intel-core-i7-3960x-extreme-edition-gigabyte-x79-ud3-giveaway

Thermaltake's Water Extreme 2.0 is the best performing pre-filled liquid cooler that we've tested other than Swiftech's H220, which is a little bit more expensive.

With Haswell around the corner, the market for a super high end Z77 board might be fairly small, but if you're looking for one, this looks like an optimal choice!

Bioshock Infiinte for PC - We tell you the best graphics card around $100, $200, $300, and $400+

You can use this as a guide for how to benchmark Bioshock Infinite. Test your own hardware and see how it compares to what we're using!

Steelseries' APEX [RAW] keyboard is optimized for quicker response with its low profile design. If 8 minutes is too long for you to watch a video about a keyboard, there's a more concise one that Steelseries had me make here: http://bit.ly/10XNIWc

The Sennheiser Momentum headset is optimized for Apple (which until now I didn't know was an actual thing) and features a lightweight, stylish design.

The G100s from Logitech doesn't look much different from an M-O-U-S-E mouse, but it's the technology inside that is meant to differentiate it from a $5 affair.

The Pelican iPad (or other tablet) case. This is both an unboxing and a torture test video.

Logitech G230 comes in as a value oriented option in their gaming lineup. It's lightweight, looks cool, and has the basic features you need (like a noise canceling mic) without an of the fluff that you don't

The G400s from Logitech is targeted squarely at mid-range gamers who want ergonomics and Logitech's stable, reliable software, and are willing to sacrifice some of the "bells and whistles" to get it.

A PREDATOR AT THE PLAYGROUND??? But seriously that's not funny...

The G19s from Logitech takes everything that was good about the G19 and modernizes it with advanced durable materials and special coatings to achieve fingerprint resistance and long life.

Tomb Raider (2013) for PC - We tell you the best graphics card around $100, $200, $300, and $400+

You can use this as a guide for how to benchmark Tomb Raider (2013). Test your own hardware and see how it compares to what we're using!

The BenQ RL2455HM Gaming LCD monitor has MLG's seal of approval. Basically what they're looking for is low response time (less blurriness in high motion scenes) as well as low input lag (the latency between the monitor receiving a signal and displaying it on the screen).

NZXT's commitment to customer service is exceptional. 5 year warranty + they pay the shipping both ways... Outstanding.

The Gigabyte Z77X-UP5 TH has TWO Thunderbolt ports to go with its overclocking features, and support for SLI and Crossfire multi way GPU configurations. As you probably noticed, I filmed this a while ago but forgot to upload it. Hence the old studio.

The G500s from has the features that we've come to expect from high end Logitech gaming mice like an adjustable weight system, frictionless scroll wheel, and of course their new advanced materials that make the mouse surfaces last longer & feel better.

Corsair's Obsidian 900D justfied a longer than usual video... This one is almost half an hour long, but it was necessary to cover all of the features of this enormous, sexy beast.

2013x196 Crucial M500 SSD Unboxing

  • 2013-04-16T22:00:00Z8m

Crucial's M500 SSD is all about the technological improvements being made. Smaller, 20nm NAND flash, a more advanced controller, and (wait for it) up to 960GB capacities at (relatively) reasonable price points. Wow.

Zalman adds a touch of style to the LQ320 liquid cooler with their faux-aluminum side covers.

Personally I think this is really cool. For $8 you provide your own batteries and you can even swap them out quickly with disposables if you need more power right away for your USB device and you don't have access to a wall outlet.

Thermal paste is a matter of personal preference a lot of the time. I love IC Diamond, and now I have enough of it that I could pretty much eat it for sustenance.

It's about 10 minutes long but honestly I think it's worth the sit through. Ken does a great job of going through some of the features that go beyond just "GHz" and "GBs"

The Blackhawk Ultra from Rosewill is huge. I think the opening shot really makes the point very well... It's not the most "fully featured" case when it comes to bells and whistles, but it's a large enclosure that holds pretty much anything.

This is our first video of the 7790, and honestly this is the version we'd most recommend looking into. A 2GB card of this caliber makes more sense than a 1GB card because there are situations where 1GB is not enough in modern games at 1080p.

Intel's 335 series is a die-shrunk version of the 330 series offering similar performance. It of course comes with Intel's data migration tool (a very good one by the way) which is free for Intel SSD customers.

The Roccat Lua gaming mouse is aimed at gamers on a budget who still want a decent sensor and accurate tracking but are not looking to invest a bunch of money into fancy multi-colour lighting effects and other "extras".

Gigabyte's Z77X-UD4H is in that "best bang for the buck" price range where you get the features you need without spending extra on the ones that you don't.

AMD's Radeon HD 7790 fills in the gap between the HD 7770 and the HD 7850 both in terms of price and performance

Check out the Func 1030 XL mouse pad and you can also check out the set where we were filming our upcoming mockumentary about the making of the Func MS-3 gaming mouse!

Feel like you've seen this video before?? Well you haven't. This one is slightly different.

It's a motorized desk. Holy crap... K, it's not cheap, but there are a lot of expensive desks that DON'T go up and down with the push of a button...

The XL2720T is BenQ's new ULTIMATE gaming LCD monitor. It features NVIDIA 3D Vision 2 with Lightboost

Sennheiser's RS 220 wireless headphones are pretty much their open style (similar 558 or 598) solution for users who want premium sound without wires.

Sennheiser's PC350 is iconic. It's their flagship closed design gaming headset. The original PC350 had mic quality that was better than most products out there and (according to my wife... I never really liked them) great sound quality and comfort. This is the new & improved version.

SPOILER ALERT: Android rocks and I'm not going to be considering iOS anytime soon.

Seagate's new NAS products are available with hard drives (this makes sense) and WITHOUT hard drives (this makes less sense to me)

Here's a brief overview of the AP-123. Silverstone really doesn't get enough credit for the work they put into fan design.

Thermaltake's Shock series headsets are a value gaming option from Thermaltake and we're looking at both the USB and analog versions.

ASUS' MX279H has great style at a reasonable price, but is better optimized for work and productivity than gaming.

Razer's Deathadder 2013 has been changed... by changing nothing at all... Watch the video to learn more...

The Z77A-GD65 GAMING is based on the same DNA as the Z77A-GD65 as is plainly apparent from the layout of the PCB, but the features are more optimized for the gaming experience including enhanced audio and LAN functionality.

2013x223 Blackberry Z10 Unboxing

  • 2013-05-01T22:00:00Z8m

The Blackberry Z10 has been out for a while, but I finally got my hands on it. Stay tuned for Slick's 30 day "cold turkey" switch from Android to BB10!!

The G700s from Logitech combines their advanced wireless technology with their advanced surface material technology and legendary Logitech customer support. Is this... the one??

Okay I guess it also works with GTX 690, but we don't have one of those, so we showed off the controllable, blinking lights on the TITAN!

Sennheiser's PC 363D gaming headset combines their awesome open headphone technology with a solid noise canceling boom microphone. This is the headset I'd buy if I had a couple hundred to spend.

Gigabyte has recently gotten a lot more serious about their notebook offerings. We saw quite a variety of them at CES, but this is our first time being able to do an unboxing.

As a longtime Android user, Slick will be doing a series of videos documenting his 30 day attempt to switch to Blackberry. He will not be allowed to use his Galaxy S3 any more than necessary and he will be documenting any surprises he encounters along the way.

What do you keep in YOUR tech tool bag? Did we miss anything? Post your own tech toolbag contents in this forum thread: http://bit.ly/17K6OVk

The Nixeus NX-VUE27 runs at 2560x1440 resolution, meaning you get better picture clarity than 1080p or "Full HD". It also comes in at a very competitive price considering you are getting an A panel (compared to many of the inexpensive Korean options on Ebay)

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon for PC - We tell you the best graphics card around $100, $200, $300, and $400+

You can use this as a guide for how to benchmark Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. Test your own hardware and see how it compares to what we're using!

The Steelseries Flux In-Ear headset is surprisingly good. 6mm drivers contribute some serious "oomph" to a reasonably priced pair of ear buds. They look good, they're comfortable, and the anti-tangle cord actually works quite well.

The GeForce GTX Titan. They told us it would enable quiet, small form factor, and yet HIGH performance builds... They were... RIGHT!

Samsung's Galaxy S4. I spent a little over a week with it, and while you won't find much information about MHz or Gigabytes, what you will find is my overall feelings about the device as someone who has used (in the last 4 months) iOS, Windows Phone 8, and Android on the HTC One.

The Razer Edge Pro is the first "gaming grade" tablet on the market. It come with a Core i7 CPU, GeForce GT 640M LE graphics core, and a MASSIVE 256GB of storage. But is it worth the $1500??

The Corsair Obsidian 350D is their first micro ATX case, and it definitely lives up to the "Obsidian" branding in terms of the looks and features!

The ULTIMATE $1500 Intel gaming PC build guide has landed. Enjoy!

The Radeon HD 7790 OC from MSI features a short PCB, custom, propeller blade cooler, and a very attractive price to performance ratio.

Corsair's GS or Gamer Series power supplies are not the highest end ones in their line up. They are non-modular, 80 Plus Bronze, and only have a 3 year warranty. With that said, they come in a very reasonable price points, and they're "modder-friendly" because the fan colours can be changed to white, red, blue, or off :)

So far we've used the Live Gamer Portable once since we unboxed it, and it was actually kinda awesome. Avermedia's software continues to impress (we also have a Live Gamer HD) and the flexibility of being able to use this device on a laptop or even without a PC is really cool.

Logitech's G430 headset unboxing. This headset is part of their refreshed G series, and is very similar to the G230 except for a colour change and the inclusion of a USB sound card.

Pre sleeved cables are a great way to make the visible parts of your cable management look good while hiding the parts that look bad. These Phobya ones were perfect for my needs because I needed some pretty weird adapters, and they had them.

2013x245 GTX780-with-Haswell.mp4

  • 2013-05-23T22:00:00Z8m

note to self: need to fill in description later

Here's the GeForce GTX 780's performance at 1440p in the hottest, most demanding titles including Metro Last Light, Bioshock Infinite and Crysis 3.

Here's the GeForce GTX 780's performance at 1080p in the hottest, most demanding titles including Metro Last Light, Bioshock Infinite and Crysis 3.

The GTX 780 from NVIDIA is the 2nd highest performing single GPU graphics card in the world. The only one faster is the GTX Titan also from NVIDIA.

Netgear's ReadyNAS for Home is a 2-bay gigabit NAS that supports standalone drive configurations and RAID 0 as well as RAID 1

Coolermaster's Seidon liquid coolers are one of the only pre-filled CPU water cooling units that are NOT based on Asetek or CoolIT designs. Cooler Master built their own like a boss.

We got a private demo from the creator of the Omni. This is the "unboxing" and overview of this exciting new virtual reality device. Stay tuned for more videos to come of Linus and Slick trying the device as well as an interview with Jan, the creator of the Omni!

Cooler Master's N200 case is a small, but well ventilated option for folks looking to build a simple machine or even a compact gaming PC!

The Func MS-3 is the first mouse that I've encountered that I would say is legitimately designed for an average to slightly larger male hand. While this may not be perfect for me, it's great for LOTS of other people.

Our first time on the Virtuix Omni, the omni-directional treadmill device that allows you to not only stand, but also move around in game while wearing the Oculus

The GTX 770 from NVIDIA replaced the GTX 670 in the product stack, but actually has more in common with the previous flagship GTX 680 than with the 670!

Here's the GeForce GTX 770's performance at 1080p in the hottest, most demanding titles including Metro Last Light, Bioshock Infinite and Crysis 3.

Here's the GeForce GTX 770's performance at 1440p in the hottest, most demanding titles including Metro Last Light, Bioshock Infinite and Crysis 3.

The ASUS GTX 770 Direct CU II is a COMPLETELY non-reference GTX 770, which is usual right at launch when a high end GPU is released. Normally the "non-reference" cards we see for a while are just reference cards with a different cooler. In this case ASUS is using beefier components, stronger design, and a beastly cooler to set their GTX 770 apart from the pretenders!

Consider this an unboxing of both the 4670K and 4770K because those are the chips that I mostly focus on.

If you have a 4770K or 4670K, then this overclocking guide is perfect for you!

The Maximus VI Extreme from ASUS delivers all the features that hardcore overclockers need. That and it looks awesome.

It's day one of our Computex coverage powered by WD. Check out our daily coverage of the Western Digital booth every day because the more views these videos get, the more prizes we get to give away after the show. Full details at the link below!!

The Sabertooth Z87 from ASUS has a number of features that make it truly "TUF". It's got a 5 year warranty, unparalleled dust protection, and cooling analysis/control tools that make it a great choice for anything from a gaming machine to a desktop workstation.

The ULTIMATE $2000 Intel gaming PC build guide has landed. Enjoy! It uses the latest "Haswell" 4th Generation Core series processor family and some other really cool stuff that makes it incredibly efficient and silent without compromising on performance.

It's day two of our Computex coverage powered by WD. Check out our daily coverage of the Western Digital booth every day because the more views these videos get, the more prizes we get to give away after the show. Full details at the link below!!

Cooler Master's booth had a bunch of cool products including the Cosmos SE, Elite 130, 693,cases and Nepton 280/140 liquid coolers, as well as an awesome demo about power supply efficiency under low load.

MSI now has everything from the traditional "bulky" gaming machine (and taking it to a new level with a 4GHz overclocked quad core), to their new slim GS70.

In Thermaltake's booth they were showing off some new cases and some very cool World of Tanks themed mods. We even got them to drive one of them around!

The OC Main Event was sponsored by both Corsair and Intel and was all about pushing the new "Haswell" 4th Generation Core series 4770K to its limit! Andre Yang stole the show with victories in 8 categories!

The discussion starts with some insight into what makes the "White-Ra" Tt eSports peripherals an extension of his gameplay style.

Between Poseidon and their updated Haswell ready Z87 motherboards, ASUS continues to demonstrate commitment to the high end PC as a platform and gamers with their RoG products that they're showing off here at the show.

The Z87-Deluxe from ASUS is a top tier board, but with a different focus from their TUF series or RoG series. It emphasizes features that are more important to mainstream customers such as the integrated wireless AC that replaces features such as OC panel on the top tier RoG board.

The Level 10 M headset and Theron Infrared gaming mouse are two of the things making headlines at the Tt eSports booth. They're also showing off the Poseidon mechanical keyboard and some other cool stuff!

It's day three of our Computex coverage powered by WD. Check out our daily coverage of the Western Digital booth every day because the more views these videos get, the more prizes we get to give away after the show. Full details at the link below!!

QNAP TurboNAS - The cloud can be great but sometimes you want to keep things personal. Enter QNAP, with their web accessible control panel and the ability to transcode files on the fly through the NAS oyou get the cloud accessible access that you need with the privacy of your own hardware that you want.

We caught up with Eric Brinkley from Tt eSports to find out what's the deal with creating gaming peripherals in collaboration with casters rather than pro players. It turns out the answer is pretty obvious.

ECC Memory - So this may not be like many other videos we release about Computex due to it not being focused on any flashy new hardware but I couldn't help but point this out as I have this question from time to time - I realize this is a very quick and dirty explanation and leaves some important clarifications out but I hope it at least clears the topic up in a general sense.

GIgabyte had a HUGE lineup of gaming grade and overclocking motherboards on display including an overbuilt mITX FM2 AMD motherboard that can be used for LN2 overclocking!

Gelid Wing...If you have been an avid watcher of Linus Tech Tips you may know Linus has a not so secret love for Gelid Wing UV fans - and now they have slim option which is great with all the compatibility issues people have been having with tall RAM kits.

This system from AIO was definitely interesting, As I said in the video I have seen a few mods done like this, some were more elegant and very well done and some were more ghetto but still functional. It is an interesting idea although I worry about the cost on a shipped unit like this. It is not available in NA yet but I am excited to see its MSRP once it is.

ASUS' booth has the MUCH anticipated PQ321 4K 31.5" monitor on display as well as their new Memopad 302 and Memopad HD7. The Transformer Book Trio and Zenbook Infinity are also extremely cool looking!

Plextor M6 was a surprise to me as not that long ago Plextor released their M5 Pro Xtreme drive. Plextor is well known for their enterprise grade drives and I can't wait to test this drive as it will be the first SSD to be tested through my new and improved testing methodology at the new studio!

MSI showed up in full force for Computex 2013! In their booth we check out the Mpower Z87, Xpower Z87, the Z87-G65 GAMING, and we get to stare at a box that supposedly contains the completely re-designed GTX 780 Lightning!

While gold really isn't my style if you want to be a "blingin", sorry... I had to say it, this really isn't a bad option. If you have put your spinners, cane, and fur coat away in the closet you can go with the red and black option as well ;)

Who's tall, handsome, and not hiding in your closet right now? Josh.

The XigmaTek Midgard 3, Nebula, and Aquila from Xigmatek were definitely not something to pass up. While things like wireless charging can be implemented in other ways it is nice to see a company bundling it up into an elegant solution like the Midgard 3. Innovative solutions like fans automatically turning off when covers are closed are also always welcome in my mind because advancing hardware is a good thing as we don't want to become stagnant. The Aquila was interesting because it felt like deja vu, although depending on how strong the supporting arms are it may be a very intriguing case indeed.

Ducky Shine 3, Year of the Snake, Mini, and Backlit Zero were all pleasant surprises. For the keyboard nerd in me Computex has been a totally awesome show - so far I have been to Topre, Ducky, and Cherry among others.

It's day four of our Computex coverage powered by WD. Check out our daily coverage of the Western Digital booth every day because the more views these videos get, the more prizes we get to give away after the show. Full details at the link below!!

Another round of cool products at ASUS! The VN279LQ is a slim bezel 27" LCD, the Wireless Duo expands your mobile device storage, and the Xonar Blu Ray Station acts as a Blu Ray writer AND an external sound card.

At Func's booth the new products they had on display were a mechanical gaming keyboard, the KB-460, and an upcoming gaming headset, the HS-260

Galaxy 770/780, and many of their previous cards, cover a nice little niche as I get many questions about white PCB graphics cards. More and more people are starting to realize that the look of the back of your graphics card is quite important if you are going for a really good looking build - If white is your colour look no further

Topre Type Heaven was another pleasant surprise - Topre has traditionally been at a large price premium when compared to other keyboards but that is not the case with the type heaven. This is a very intriguing product because I expect it to send waves through the mechanical keyboard community as long as it can get its name out there!

Gigabyte showed off their completely over-built Windforce cooler that allows NVIDIA-based graphics cards running GPU Boost 2.0 to run at maximum speed all the time. We also had a chance to check out the Aivia Uranium mouse, which is... insanely cool!

Silverstone ML06, Raven Mini, AIO Watercooler, TD02/TD03, Evaporating Liquid CPU Cooler, Zeus Digital PSU, Custom Nuc Cases, External Card Enclosure. THAT was a mouth full! Silverstone had an awesome showing at Computex this year but if I had to chose a favorite I would say it was the evaporating liquid cooler... that thing was way too cool.

The Zalman Zalbar and Qi charger are both very interesting products. While definitely not being first to market in these areas it is great to see a company like Zalman making moves in this direction. As stated in the video I really appreciated the fairly slim form factor of the Qi for GS3. Cases GS3 are notoriously large due to the curved nature of the phone - so breaking from this stereotype even in a small way was refreshing.

Bitfenix showed off an unbelievable amount of stuff including the Prodigy M, Ronin, Shadow, Colossus M, Phenom M, Recon, and FLO Headphones...

Avermedia Live Gamer Portable is great and can really ease up the strain on your computer if you want to stream or local record your games. As I said in the video we user Avermedia hardware every week for the live stream and it works great! I am very happy to see the Live Gamer Portable is now able to record in 1080p to the SD card - free functionality is awesome!

Asrock's waterproof Z87 OC Formula was turning heads with a live demo of its water-resistance. Their M8 series ITX barebones gaming machine with BMW design was knocking them off. This is a seriously cool machine!

Lepa is a direct partner to Enermax and due to this has a fair amount of overlap especially in the sector of fans. With the advent of low power draw components like Haswell I wonder just what level of system it will take to utilize 1700 watt's of power!

Acer's booth included their new 8.1" Windows 8 tablet, the Iconia W3, as well as the updated Aspire S7, and the all new Aspire R7, which has the touchpad above the keyboard!

Cherry has been the team to beat in the mechanical keyboard sales world for a long time now and are likely the company behind your mechanical keyboard! I wanted to show you who they really were!

It's day six of our Computex coverage powered by WD. Western Digital now has a full line of specialized drives for mass storage from the Red edition for personal use, to the SE for larger scale deployments, the RE for maximum reliability, and the XE SAS drive for top performance.

Noctua is showing off a successor to the NH-D14, black industrial grade fans (but still silent and awesome) and a CPU heatsink that uses ACTIVE noise cancellation to achieve an all-new level of silence.

Antec Mobile Products has a great track record so far for releasing very solid products. The improvements to the SP1 are fantastic and with the new options of SP3 and SPzero in the lineup there may be no need to look any further in terms of mobile audio. Metal is always welcome to enhance a product in my mind and the aluminum shell of their new mobile battery is no exception, I love the feel extremely solid feel of this product and expect it will be worth the price premium.

Corsair showed off a TON of new products. I was particularly interested in their Air 540 case and M40 mouse. I'm also super excited to see Corsair's beautiful K70 with different switch options!

The main product launch for OCZ is their "New" Fatal1ty power supplies. These are updated to modernize their feature sets and to include support for Haswell 4th generation Intel Core series processors.

It is always nice to see hardware guys like GSkill support overclockers with products like the Trident X. I am excited to see the full potential of RAM kits like this once Haswell has been around for a while!

It's day six of our Computex coverage powered by WD. Check out our daily coverage of the Western Digital booth every day because the more views these videos get, the more prizes we get to give away after the show. Full details at the link below!!

Nanoxia has been bringing us Deep silence cases for a long time and they have been doing quite well despite limited availability. The added functionality of the Deep Silence 6 was a pleasant sight and I am happy to see them moving into larger form factors in order to compete with things like Corsair 900D

NZXT's Phantom 530 was the star of the show for them with classic Phantom looks and an updated feature set.

The Antec Nineteen Hundred, Kuhler H2O, and Grid were all very interesting finds. I actually didn't expect any of this from Antec as they are often very conservative. Putting pumps up on your fans is anything but conservative. I can't wait to get this cooler into the lab to figure out how it actually performs in the field!

The Fuel+ line of battery banks is Patriot's biggest launch at Computex. The main features are their wide variety of capacities and the ability of the larger banks to deliver 2.5A on the high power port, allowing devices to be charged extremely quickly.

INWIN has thrown quite a few options out there with their Tou, H-Frame Mini, and Kingsize H-frame. All of these cases are sure to turn heads for various reasons. I would love to see a lower cost Tou, maybe with less aluminum to keep the cost down - that would be a very nice looking case to build professional systems in!

The Blade 14" gaming notebook with its 4th generation Core i7 processor and GTX 765M graphics card is a whole new kind of slim gaming experience. I was extremely impressed by this machine!

These NAS products are pretty unique. They have app support and HDMI out as well as expandable memory on the high end ones.

be quiet! was showing off thier Pure Power, Power Zone, Shadow Rock 2, and Shadow Rock Slim products at Computex. This is a huge lineup compared to what we're used to seeing from them here in North America.

B-roll and I had no idea who Jonsbo was before today but this booth was definitely a pleasant surprise. Seeing who OEM's products for different companies is always fascinating!

Enermax's booth had a ton of cool stuff including a 650W fanless 80 PLUS platinum power supply, the Coenus Giant case, and the Ostrog Pink Editioni.

Gamdias is a new company, and they were at Computex 2013 showing off the Zeus mouse, Hermes keyboard, and Hephaestus headset among other things.

I Googled it and apparently "wormhole" technology is a keyboard/mouse sharing tech that j5 uses: http://www.j5create.com/news.html

The Mek-Fu from Rogue looks absolutely unbelievable. If you are SERIOUS BSNS about mech games like Hawken, you need one of these.

CM Storm is one of the first brands to bring Cherry MX Green keyboards to North America. Here's Slick's rundown of what makes Green switches different from the rest of the Cherry MX linedup.

It was the last day of the show and we were pretty much finished our work, so we decided to tour around the show floor trolling at the various booths and having some fun.

The Mod-Mat Mainboard and Mod-Mat Extreme from Mod Right act as anti-static workbench covers that help prevent your components from being zapped, scuffed, or dropped (very grippy texture to it). They also give you quick references to some things you might need to know while you're building.

Fractal Design's Define series is a personal favourite of mine, and the R4 takes everything that was great about it before and amps it up a notch.

The Angelbird SSD2Go is the most beautifully crafted external drive that I've ever encountered. It's available in single drive configurations, but this one is the dual drive, dual interface version. That means FULL redundancy, giving you fast, safe data on the go.

The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 OC that you see here features their Windforce cooler, which is designed to dissipate up to 450W of heat! We saw a practical demo of this at Computex, and it really works!

The Meze 11 Classics have a very warm sound, and a VERY cool look! They are handcrafted from ebony wood and offer up a unique style to go along with their unique sound.

The Knucker keyboard from Tt eSports uses "Plunger" type switches, which are an inexpensive membrane-based alternative to mechanical switches that attempt to deliver tactile feedback that you normally wouldn't get from a regular rubber dome keyboard.

The Meka G1 by Tt eSports (Thermaltake) is a solidly built mechanical keyboard, but without the bells and whistles that you might find on other models such as programmable macro keys or LED lighting. With that in mind there IS a backlit version of the Meka G1 available as well.

The Virtuix Omni is on Kickstarter and quite frankly it's doing really really well. We had a chance to sit down with Jan Goetgeluk, the inventor of the Omni virtual reality device and I hope you'll find the discussion as interesting as we did!

Slick's setup at the new HQ gets a thorough run-through by yours truly. I find some things I was expecting in his setup, and some things I was NOT expecting... The conflict you see is definitely genuine... I can't believe he took my Filco... That's the only keyboard I have with Cherry MX Blue switches...

Here's the GeForce GTX 760's performance at 1080p in the hottest, most demanding titles including Metro Last Light, Bioshock Infinite and Crysis 3.

The GTX 760 from NVIDIA replaced the GTX 660 Ti in the NVIDIA product stack, and is aimed directly at gamers who want great performance in modern games at 1080p!

Radeon HD 7990 is AMD's answer to the NVIDIA GTX Titan, and GTX 690. Is it too little too late, or when you consider the MASSIVE number of games that come with this card, do you think it brings a compelling value to the table?

The Energizer 180W cup inverter changes DC power to AC power that can be used by your electronics while you're on the road. All of this from a device small enough to fit in a cup holder!

Big thanks to Bell Mobility for lending us this Blackberry Z10 to make this series possible.

The Corsair K95 is their new "top of the line" gaming keyboard. It's got pretty much everything their other keyboards have combined. Macro keys, individually configurable backlighting, a fully mechanical layout, and a gorgeous black aluminum finish.

The Corsair K70 is has a number of configurations available. What they all have in common is "sex appeal". With individually configurable backlighting, a fully mechanical layout, and a gorgeous black, gunmetal, or silver aluminum finish, this keyboard looks as good as performs!

Retrolink has a USB to SNES adapter that works exactly how it says it will. $10 well spent!

The Level 10 M gaming mouse from Tt eSports fuses style and functionality

The Vizio CT15T-B1 may have a boring name, but there's nothing boring about this notebook. It features a quad core Core i7 processor, stealth cooling vents, a 1080p IPS 10-point multi-touch screen, a unibody aluminum chassis, and very respectable battery life.

The editing room goes on display at the new Linus Media Group HQ. I show off my workstation (or lack thereof) as well as both Diesel and B-Roll's workstations. Diesel also tries to assassinate his boss. Too bad he was using a pellet gun... One that isn't even loaded... It's okay he's much better at video editing than at killing people...

The ASUS GeForce GTX 760 DirectCU II makes a lot of claims about "better overclocking" or "more stable power" or "cooler running" and it looks like they're all true from our experience.

The Corsair Carbide Air 540 is focused on cooling and performance, but it actually ended up looking great too. In spite of the plastic bezel design, this is one of the best looking cases I think Corsair's ever made.

It is not recommended to do the thing you see in the thumbnail. Please please please don't do that.

The Xonar Phoebus from ASUS has been long overdue for an unboxing on this channel. This is basically as good as it gets for gaming sound cards. The driver issues that affected this card early in its life cycle have been resolved, and now it just kicks butt.

The Define XL R2 is the second revision of Fractal Design's larger quiet-optimized tower case. The original Define XL was large, but didn't have quite the same flexibility in terms of hardware compared to this newer alternative.

The N2 from IOSafe is a 2 bay NAS that is not only fireproof but also waterproof. Want to protect your data from a disaster? This might be the best way to do it short of hosting it in the cloud (which is relatively expensive for long term storage)

The Koolance CPU-380I is a low restriction, high performance, and downright sexy CPU block for custom liquid cooling loops. It's also the one we'll be using for our Ultimate Overkill PC Build Guide, which will be coming soon.

Vengeance Pro memory from Corsair is a "barebones" option for overclockers who don't want to pay extra for fancy heatspreaders and just want good quality RAM with some headroom.

Basically PrimoFlex is my personal favourite. Everything else I've used just ain't that special.

Basically the Protag does what it says it does, and at least on the Android the app was quite simple to use and effective. The main drawback of the device in my mind is the fact that it runs on Bluetooth so you'll need to keep that enabled on your phone. With that said, I wouldn't use something like this every day... It's more like something I'd use in special scenarios such as when I'm traveling.

Seagate has a NAS drive now. We unboxed (unbagged?) it!

External SSD based storage... Does it make sense yet? It's certainly hard to justify the increased cost versus a hard drive, but the benefits are certainly tangible, and this isn't like the OCZ Enyo. At that point the cost to capacity was NOT there. Now, for some elite (read: enough cashola) users, it's a feasible solution.

If you wanted something between the WD Red and the WD RE... Now you have it. TLDR version: It's a less robust RE. Big warranty still though :)

Prime Team gets a special keyboard from Tt eSports, and if you had any doubt that Thermaltake ACTUALLY takes input from their sponsored players, I would suggest you take a look at this keyboard. With its striking red & black &... pink colour scheme, it's something obviously no normal product manager would come up with.

This guide shows you how to install a full cover graphics card water block and gives some helpful tips and tricks along the way.

The Razer Blade 14 is here. This is a truly exceptional piece of hardware engineering and I really hope you enjoy my look at it as much as I enjoyed playing with it. With that said, I really felt like the product had one Achilles heel. Watch on to learn more...

The ASUS GTX 780 Direct CU II delivers what it says it does. Great cooling, quiet operation, and better overclocking. All of this while not being much more expensive than a standard reference card.

AMD's Richland APUs are not really a huge improvement over the last generation, but the good news for AMD is that they don't really have to be in order to compete very well against Haswell.

Naga 2014 unboxing... done. This may be the finest MMO mouse on the block. Often when a company changes a "proven" formula it's a disaster (see: any movie sequel pretty much ever), but I think Razer's done it this time...

The Acer Iconia W3 tablet runs a full-fledged Windows 8 operating system with an Atom processor and includes a full copy of Microsoft Office 2013 Home and Student. Other than an unfortunate TN panel (although it's not terrible as far as TN panels go) it looks like pretty much the go-to device for a great value small Windows based tablet.

ADATA knows a thing or two about making SSDs. This Sandforce based drive is fast and takes a unique approach to the over-provisioning that is normally done on SSDs.

The Hammerhead Pro headset from Razer is for bass heads. There I said it. They look awesome and the build quality feels awseome, but if you're looking for a reasonably balanced "reference" sound without doing some serious EQ tuning, these aren't for you.

The G1 Sniper 5 from Gigabyte is their answer to the RoG series from ASUS. It features better onboard networking, better onboard audio, and "overbuilt" grade components.

Can hard drives still be sexy? ADATA says "yes" but I'll let you be the judge.

Since we didn't receive and NVIDIA Shield and we still want to have the handheld experience while streaming desktop games from a PC, we decided to build our own.

Ironically today NVIDIA reached to say my Shield is en route, so all this effort may have been for nothing, but one way or another I'm really looking forward to testing out the real thing vs our DIY solution.

The most overkill gaming PC buyer's guide we've ever made has landed. Our Haswell 4th generation Core i7 processor is complemented by dual NVIDIA Titan graphics cards in SLI. All of this is cooled by a water cooling setup that costs hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Enjoy.

Meze's Classics 88 Headphones have some serious style going for them. With a wood grain finish available in matte or glossy, and what I'd characterize as a "warm but pleasing" sound signature, these come with a "recommended" seal of approval if you want your headphones to have a little touch of class.

The Dashdrive Air AE400 from ADATA takes the needs for more storage and better battery life on mobile devices and addresses them both in one package.

This is a quick one, folks! The NZXT Grid allows you to plug in ten fans for the price of one!

The Razer Atrox is one of the most impressive products we've ever seen out of Razer. Even though they're more of a "mainstream" gaming brand, stuff like this proves that they haven't forgotten about their hardcore users at all.

We really needed a USB3 card reader, and in this video I attempt to demonstrate why.

The Rampage IV Gene from ASUS might be a little bit older at this point, but as an RoG board it's still able to run with the big dogs pretty well.

Display Fusion is a fantastic application for managing your desktop icons, desktop backgrounds, windows, and many handy Windows settings for making work more efficient particularly with a multi-montior setup.

Expensive overclocking and gaming motherboards. What do they really bring to the table? We took what we feel is possibly the best Z87 motherboard on the market (all bells and whistles included) and put it head to head in a real-world scenario (H100 cooling, no LN2) against the most barebones Z87 we could get our hands on. These results may shock you.

The Aspire S7 in its original form is (in spite of its several glaring flaws) my favourite laptop, so it should come as no surprise that this video is basically me talking about how amazing I think this new one is for nine minutes. If you think you can handle it, then there's some good information about the product in here as well :p

The Belkin Thunderstorm is marketed as the "loudest iPad case" and based on our experience with it, it's CERTAINLY loud. With that said, it's also pretty expensive...

This is an unboxing of the EA6500 from Linksys, but it's also a primer on wireless AC in general if you're not familiar with the technology.

The Gigabyte G1.Sniper M5 is a pint-sized powerhouse. It has almost all the same features as the full sized G1.Sniper 5, but in a smaller form factor and at half the price!

Sponsor link: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/35410-adata-dashdrive-air-where-to-buy/

The ModMic may be the best solution out there for gamers who want the convenience of a headset (you know, the kind with a mic attached to it) with the sound quality of a good pair of headphones (let's face it, most gaming headphones are nothing special in terms of sound).

Gigabyte's Windforce cooler might not be quite as quiet as some of the 2 fan designs that I've seen (more smaller diameter fans is usually a recipe for worse acoustics) but it performs really really REALLY well.

By popular demand the H230 from NZXT unboxing is here! This case isn't really anything "WHOA SPECIAL" in terms of new innovative features or anything, but it looks like a solid value case with some quiet optimized features.

The Gigabyte Z87X-OC Force motherboard may not be the best "value" option out there, but if you're a competitive overclocker looking for all the features you need to compete at the top of HWbot (in addition to a ton of other stuff) this board's got 'em.

The GAMDIAS HERMES gaming keyboard may be one of the most unique products we've had a chance to take a look at. Not just another mechanical gaming keyboard. Wow.

This Mionix Avior is the first time we've seen anything other than an ergonomic right-handed shape from Mionix. It's ambidextrous and pretty much dead sexy.

ADATA RAM unboxing is done. We also took this opportunity to cover some of the basics of RAM shopping :)

The Reserator Max from Zalman takes a very unique approach to radiator design. We're going to have a review coming soon.

The 3H V2 is jokingly referred to in this video as "baby's first headset", but in reality I think it's a massive step up from what most non-serious gamers are probably using and a great entry level headset. The retractable mic is a big selling point for me.

The Tartarus takes what's aweome about the Orbweaver, tweaks the ergonomics, and tones everything down a little to come in at a more attractive price point. Instead of 20 keys on top it has 15, and instead of Cherry MX Blue keyswitches it uses membrane switches

The Arc Midi R2 from Fractal Design takes everything that was good about the original Arc Midi and improves it. I guess if we expected anything else from a product that's called the same thing, but with "R2" at the end, then we might want to check and make sure that's actually milk we're putting in our cereal in the morning and not bleach.

2013x398 Intel RAID Setup Guide

  • 2013-08-28T22:00:00Z8m

This RAID setup guide will work for any motherboard that runs an Intel chipset from the last few generations pretty much. I've received many requests to make this video and I hope you enjoy it.

Sandisk's Connect series of products allows you to expand the storage on your mobile devices and share it wirelessles.

The NVIDIA Shield is probably the most controversial device I've seen come out of NV in a while. Some people think it's great, some people think it's horrible. I'm of the mind that this is the beginning of the end for traditional handhelds and NVIDIA is forging an incredibly exciting new path. Also so far I LOVE my Shield. I've been playing with it a lot since I filmed this video and I'm pretty stoked on it so far. Full review coming later.

The fireproof and waterproof NAS from IOSafe has been put to the test. Watch the video to find out if the N2 manages to protect the WD Red drives inside from the torturous ordeal of being burned, then doused in water!

Corsair's Raptor K30 keyboard brings the same great looks to the table as the Vengeance line with more "value-oriented" plastic construction and membrane keyswitches.

The new Vengeance headsets have better looks, more rugged construction, and the 1500 V2 and 1400 have been updated with the same better-sounding drivers as the 2000 series. The 2100 still has Dolby Headphone like the 2000, but has been tuned to provide an even better user experience.

The Logitech G602 may be one of the most aggressively priced fully-featured mice that we've ever seen. It offers compelling performance, "enough" DPI, and an unbelievable 250 hours continuous use on a single charge in the gaming performance mode (1400 in eco...)

NVIDIA Shield in the hands of real gamers and demoing Miracast functionality. Now you can beam PC games to Shield, and you can beam Android games to your TV. Sky's the limit, folks.

Strife looks like the answer to how to turn the "attitude-problem-ridden" DotA 2 and LoL communities into a more "cooperative" experience. They want their innovative approach to appeal to both casual AND competitive players. Think it'll work?

NVIDIA's GRID technology is designed for cloud gaming, but I'm personally incredibly excited about some of the other ways this tech could be leveraged (maybe a few generations from now on a bigger scale, or even today on a smaller scale like with SHIELD) by individual consumers as well!

Intel's booth has all kinds of cool things on display. But it gets better.... They're giving away like $40,000 worth of CPUs alone!!! Also other stuff!

Wildstar might be the hottest upcoming MMO. The founders are mostly ex-Blizzard employees and from the look of things, they were probably some of the good ones...

The HAF Stackable series from Cooler Master looks like it's going to take "overkill" to a whole new level. Put rads in the basement, storage on top, the other way around, switch em around. This is a game-changer for folks who want to truly build the craziest, most expandable rigs!

World of Warplanes looks like the next big thing from Wargaming. It will be free to play just like World of Tanks and it will focus on (obviously) aerial combat with a particular emphasis on planes from the WWI - WWII eras

World of Tanks: Super popular on PC. Now coming for Xbox. Instead of simply porting the game, Wargaming decided to take the same concept and basically build a new game that's truly optimized for the console experience.

Great music, Great narration, Great story, and a great team is what Supergiant brought to the table with Bastion and it looks like they will be doing much of the same in that regards with their new game : Transistor.

Life Goes On - In this game it truly does! Playing through this game feels wrong in the best way possible... progressing by standing on your own corpse is a weird feeling but one that is definitely fun and entertaining!

Nekro - A game where you've got a guy who carries around a bag of limbs and throws them at things to damage them. What could go wrong?

Luke gets hands-on with the upcoming 2DS at PAX and discusses Nintendo's strategy for this new gaming console.

Aztez caught my eye pretty much instantly due to its beautiful art style and kept my attention with its mechanics and game-play. The integration of Occulus rift was brilliant and tons of fun and I am excited to check out the features of this game they were not showing off at PAX.

Crypt of the Necrodancer was a game I was excited for before PAX and that I'm even more excited for now! Upbeat music, dancing, and monster slaying are all awesome things and when combined what bad could happen?

Loadout by Edge Of Reality - They took their company name to heart when making this game and really took things to the edge... from customization to game play this game is just a LITTLE crazy!

Galak-Z's AI is fantastic! This is a genre that I personally love so to see this game in the flesh(or plastic?) was great! As a huge fan of games like Asteroids and Raiden this seems fantastic to me!

Contrast definitely stands out amongst the crowd(bad pun?). The story line is actually quite deep and with a real world reference that is a little too close for comfort for one of the members of the team.

In Luftrausers the feeling of being a badass is fairly easy to attain... but actually being a successful badass is not easy at all. This is a game of practice, customization, and mastery.

CloudBerry Kingdom is a special kind of beast... once you crank the difficulty high enough if you beat a level you may as well commission a statue of yourself in-front of town hall because you completed an epic...

Beat Buddy if a great game if you're looking for a relaxing game with a competitive edge. It was great to hear about Denis Rogic's experiences as an indie developer as well. As a fan of indie games it is always interesting to hear about the things these guys go through to bring us content!

The Maingear Pulse 14 is one of the most compact gaming machines I've ever seen. It can be loaded up with a Core i7 quad core, a GTX 760M, and up to two SSDs in RAID 0 AND a 2.5" hard drive. All of that while remaining quite slim. I think the only big change I'd make would be to add a non-TN panel option.

Natural Selection 2 is an RTS/FPS hybrid game that up until now didn't really offer great performance unless you had a state of the art machine... Well that has all changed now with the new Reinforced update. Better performance AND an expansion for all existing NS2 customers.

Steelseries' Siberia Elite & 9H gaming headsets take the previous generation best offerings and step them both up a notch!

The Playseat Immersion is meant to be less of a racing chair and more of a general gaming chair. Optimized for the console player or movie watcher who doesn't need a desk in front of them for peripherals, but still wants gaming features like integrated speakers.

The GTX 780 Lightning looks like one of the most beast graphics cards that has ever been created, but will it be enough to take on the rumoured upcoming AMD graphics cards...?

Reus, being a god game, naturally peaked my interest and I picked it up on the steam summer sale! Managing multiple groups of humans can be really fun. I find myself attached to certain ones more than others and will side with them in wars... Not really the MAIN point of the game but oh well!

That Dragon, Cancer is unlike anything I have ever played. This game hit me because of my families personal experiences with taking care of family members with certain afflictions. Also because my mom runs a charity dedicated to helping out family caregivers. I can't wait to show my mom this game as I believe she will be able to connect with it very deeply.

I played in the Extraction tournament and had a blast! Within a short while of playing anyone who played bring will recognize this game as a Splash Damage title. I believe that the free to play model will suit this game well when pitted against other FPS giants out there.

Quite honestly I thoroughly enjoyed a vast majority of the games in the Indie Mega Booth and it was really hard to pick a top five games! We lost the audio for That Dragon, Cancer and re-recorded it once we were back from PAX, sorry for the odd change.

If you've been paying any attention to Intel's strategy over the last few years, this CPU's features and performance shouldn't be too surprising, but here's an "unboxing" anyway.

Banggood.com... They carry toys, gadgets, and, well, intimate items as well (as the name would imply).

So how much performance can be achieved by running multiple SSDs in RAID0? We're focused on what a user would be able to achieve by using the onboard RAID on a Z87 platform motherboard.

DISCLAIMER This video should not be seen as an endorsement by me or my sponsors of tDCS in general or the Foc.us in particular, and it is just an unboxing to showcase the product.

The Maximus VI Impact from ASUS is their first RoG (Republic of Gamers) mini ITX motherboard, and one of the most exciting boards I've had my hands on in a LONG time.

Corsair's RM series delivers strong 80PLUS Gold efficiency, great aesthetics, and truly silent operation.

Okay... Dying Light... Night mode kinda scared the crap out of me! I'm not one for horror games because startles and gore don't really get to me at all but when you are literally wading through a sea of zombies that are all more badass than you its pretty freakin intense!

UPDATE: Here's what ASUS has to say about their aluminum liquid cooling implementation: http://rog.asus.com/262892013/maximus-motherboards/mixing-alu-and-cooper-is-fine-if-you-anodize-right/

Total War: Rome II... We asked how it's different from the original, and the answer is basically "well, it's kinda like that other one, but better in every possible way"

SSHD is the future, and Seagate's implementation might not be what ends up being the most popular, but it's definitely cheaper than pure SSD, and it definitely performs much better than a plain mechanical drive

The Wolf Among Us was the best game demo I played at the show. The combat was intense and visceral... and it was pure quick time events. I really really enjoyed it though. Probably the most interesting thing about it is the fact that this is just episode one and the devs are planning to use anonymously collected user data to tailor the experience of the future episodes to the way people are playing the game. We live in exciting times!

The Fiio E10 is one of the best regarded "bang for the buck" USB DAC & amp units on the market. Today it gets the unboxing treatment.

The ZEUS from GAMDIAS (yes the all caps lock is important) is their entry to the high end gaming mouse market. We saw some cool innovations with the HERMES gaming keyboard, and I was expecting to find more of the same... Well I did. Their approach to adjustable ergonomics it quite unique indeed!

The Rugged Rukus from Eton is solar-powered, splash proof, drop resistant, and has

In this uncensored step-by-step build log, there aren't many camera angles because I was working by myself sometimes, but you can come along with me for the ride of my overhaul of Edzel's video editing workstation.

The G602 from Logitech is perhaps the most... disruptive peripheral product I've seen in a while. This is for reasons that might not be immediately apparent. It's a gaming grade product that abandons the "race to higher numbers" in a couple of key ways, and instead focuses on delivering a great experience at a very reasonable price...

The Turtle Beach SEVEN series was first shown to us at CES, but this is the first time I've had a chance to do an unboxing.

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera is a very disruptive product in the market and I think it's awesome. It's about time someone got focused on delivering customers what they CAN build for a price rather than what they NEED to build for a price and pocketing the rest.

The Corsair Obsidian 750D case is an evolutionary step forward from the 650D and in my opinion they have improved it in every possible way. It's more liquid cooling friendly, has more up-to-date features, and comes in at a great price compared to its big brothers the 800D and 900D. Not to mention it's smaller and lighter, so easier to move around.

The X79 Deluxe from ASUS might be the best board for IVY-E out there, at least until ASUS' own Rampage IV Black Edition is available to buy... But let's face it, not everyone can afford that anyway, and the Deluxe is pretty ballin'.

High speed memory has been a staple for enthusiasts who want to get the most out of their systems for YEARS, but in this investigation we take a look at how much of a difference it actually makes to performance.

Manli is a graphics card brand that you've probably never heard of before, but this is a pretty awesome looking card!

AMD has unveiled their Radeon R9 and R7 series of graphics cards, their Mantle API to give game developers much more control over the way the hardware runs their games, and a host of other cool stuff that I can't tell you about yet.

The Raptor K30 keyboard looks like other Corsair keyboards, but is a much more "value oriented" product. That means it doesn't have fancy features like mechanical keyswitches, but it does have essentials like a red LED backlight and programmable macro keys.

Want to see me completely star struck?? I met Chris Roberts (Wing Commander, Freelancer, and Star Citizen) and HE KNEW WHO I WAS!! I also got to hang out with him for like 2 hours after this was shot and help build a PC for his head of marketing!

The P9X79-E WS is my ultimate board. Everyone has a different opinion about what is "best", but to me, this is the one. I don't need fancy onboard audio (I have my own discrete) and I don't need gaming LAN (got my own NIC). What I need is ultimate expansion and compatibility with fantastic quality. Turns out that costs $500, but I guess you get what you pay for...

mSATA notebook upgrades are very similar to regular notebook drive upgrades except that your choices of aftermarket parts are a little bit more limited. In this video I use Adata's SX300 SSD to upgrade my Dell XPS 12 convertible Ultrabook.

Notebook docks are what I would consider to be an unfortunately expensive, but reasonably elegant solution to the problem that exists with modern notebooks and Ultrabooks. They just plain don't have enough ports on them!

The Z87-I Deluxe from ASUS has all the features you could want in an mITX board.

The Galaxy Gear from Samsung is a hot topic right now. I know there's no box in the video, but Samsung didn't bring one. In fact, they didn't have review samples of the gear yet for Canada either so I will definitely want to do a follow up once I have some more time to spend with it.

The Note 3 from Samsung is in our hands now, but we thought we'd share with you the briefing we got from Ken Price from Samsung Canada

NVIDIA Shield is one of "those" products... The kind that I'm stoked about and it feels like almost no one else is...

The Noctua NH-U14S is Noctua's attempt to deliver outstanding performance and maximum compatibility in the same package. As always, their products absolutely kick butt

It's not very often we get a chance to sit down with company reps and talk about the entire product line up with hands-on demos of each, but that's exactly what happened here. We were hands on with the Galaxy Mega (which is really really big) the Galaxy Note 3 (which is really big), the Galaxy S4 (normal?) and the S4 Mini and S3 Mini, which are great for people like me with small hands.

The new Steelseries 5Hv3 does nothing but improve on the older v2 design. It can still be easily disassembled for travel, and upgrades the drivers for improved sound quality.

My unboxing and review of the R9 280X from Gigabyte and AMD should tell you pretty much everything you need to know about this card.

My unboxing and review of the R7 260X from AMD has general information about the card as well as performance benchmarks compared to the competition.

My AMD R9 270X unboxing & review is here now. I hope you enjoy the benchmarks and other information contained within.

The Ultimate Ears UE Mini Boom is one of the best sounding portable battery powered bluetooth speakers we've encountered, but it isn't cheap!

The Prodigy M from Bitfenix is a natural evolution from the original Prodigy. It has the same outer dimensions and actually borrows some pieces from its predecessor, but it has an all-new internal layout that accommodates an mATX motherboard and more expansion cards.

The Rogue SR2 Wood is one of Tokyoflash's wooden watch. Will the jokes about having wood ever get old? I don't know, I can't hear you over the sound of this raging boner I've got.

MayFlower Electronics is a small company that manufactures the well-regarded open source headphone amp and DAC design known as the O2 or Objective 2 amp and ODAC. This is an unboxing of these devices.

The One Mini from HTC is actually almost an awesome phone for me. There are only a couple of things that bothered me about it aside from the fact that it generally bothers me that no one but Apple builds truly flagship devices smaller than ~5"...

The Munitio Nines were surprising. They're earphones that are shaped like bullets... I fully expected them to be "fashion headphones" and I mean this in the most derogatory possible sense.

The Bitfenix Phenom & Phenom M borrow many design elements from the Prodigy series, but they are a bit more compact due to its exterior design. I personally find the appearance quite "clean". It also manages to maintain solid airflow by improving on the "all or nothing" approach to front panel design used by the Prodigy.

The SPRNG Clip keeps your Apple Earpods from falling out. Slick has a bit of an ongoing issue with ear buds falling out of his ears, so while I didn't think I was a very suitable tester for this product, I figured we might as well go straight to someone who has to deal with this very problem.

My Pebble unboxing and review might be a bit on the late side, but I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy the Pebble.

My R9 290X unboxing & review has general information about the card as well as performance benchmarks compared to the competition.

BenQ's XL2420TE is frankly the best gaming LCD monitor I've seen. Its colour reproduction, while not on the same level as an IPS panel, is MUCH better than other high speed TN monitors that I've encountered, and there almost no discernable input lag or motion blur. This one's a winner, folks.

Sennheiser's original Momentum headphones were well-reviewed by pretty much everyone... except me. The cold hard truth is that I made a mistake. I reached out to Sennheiser about giving me another crack with their new Momentum On Ear and this is the result!

This power supply fills a bit of a void. It's got a modular interface, and some very premium features, but at an aggressive price point.

So my rig has actually been pretty much done for a while, but it hasn't been in a state where I've been really ready to call it "complete". The motherboard was pretty flaky with my RAID card, and my graphics card wasn't modern enough to allow me to use NVIDIA's Game Streaming tech.

2013x489 Moto X Unboxing & Review

  • 2013-10-29T22:00:00Z8m

My Moto X unboxing & review is less about the "tech specs" that you're going to find in everyone else's review everywhere, and more to do with my personal experience using the device.

Corsair's LED fans are only available from their AF series right now. I really hope they bring SP series LED fans to the market. Then they'll really have my attention!

The PA279Q wins the honour of being my new monitor. It's absolutely beautiful, has acceptable input lag, and I don't find the ghosting effect to be detrimental to general use or gameplay (but I'm used to it).

Battlefield 4 (BF4) video card benchmarks are here! We test all the latest gaming graphics cards at ultra settings to see whether AMD or NVIDIA delivers the ultimate Battlefield 4 gaming experience!

MSI's GeForce GTX 760 Hawk promises better looks, better cooling and better overclocking than a reference card. As we discover in our testing, overclocking especially is STILL luck of the draw.

The SCOTTEVEST Travel Vest has 24 pockets made to hold all your digital (and other) belongings without looking ridiculous. The performance T-shirt is a little bit more reasonable with only two hidden pockets and wiring loops for your earphones.

My R9 290 unboxing & review has general information about the card as well as performance benchmarks compared to the competition.

Gigabyte's P34G is the most compelling Gigabyte notebook we've ever seen, and in fact one of the most compelling notebooks we've ever seen. The highlights are, in no particular order as follows:

My GTX 780 unboxing & review has general information about the card as well as performance benchmarks compared to the competition.

This is our ultimate workstation for a video editor. I say it several times in the video, but I feel like I should say it again here. This was just one example. There are easily a million different hardware combinations that would make sense for video editing and we couldn't show them all here, but I still hope people find this useful.

The Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 can contain an unbelievable amount of hardware for its size including thick radiators!!

My AMD R9 270 unboxing & review is here now. I hope you enjoy the benchmarks and other information contained within.

Samsung's 840 EVO SSD is the mainstream drive that matters. With a better software suite than other SSD makers, Samsung has found a way to really differentiate their drives without just selling them for cheaper.

The be quiet! Shadow Rock 2 looks sharp, is extremely quiet, performs very well and is priced reasonably, but unfortunately it has one of the worst mounting mechanisms we've encountered in quite some time.

To be clear, I'm not trying to hate on MSI or AMD here. NVIDIA's low end graphics cards made by EVGA or ASUS or whoever else are equally pointless.

Simple Audio is a new brand in the portable speaker market, and the only reason I agreed to take a look at this product is that a friend of mine asked me to do it. It surprised me though, and I'm actually quite impressed with what Simple Audio has managed to do within a very small enclosure.

Cherry MX Green keyboard switches are difficult to find and expensive, but are they worth the search and the price you'll have to pay?

The Note 3 from Samsung is hardly news, but we just finished our longer term testing with it. Since the phone is so large that Linus can't physically hold onto it, Slick took one for the team and spent the last while getting to know the Note 3 inside and out.

Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag is... not as optimized for PC as some of us might have hoped it would be. Have a look at what kind of graphics card you might need

The MOGA Power series does a few things extremely well. One of them is that SMRT Grips are awesome. I don't know what kind of magic rubber they're using, but they should build like... sticky tanks out of that stuff, and the second is that the ability to boost the power of your phone while you're playing games on it is awesome.

Both Assassin's Creed 4 and Battlefield 4 were tested on a high end gaming PC, entry level gaming PC, Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Xbox 360 to determine what kind of gaming experience could be achieved on each of these platforms.

2013x510 Sony Xperia Z1

2013x510 Sony Xperia Z1

  • 2013-11-25T23:00:00Z8m

My Sony Xperia Z1 review is based on using the device for a couple of weeks non-stop and rather than being focused on the features and specifications (which you can find in a chart anywhere) is focused on the little things I noticed while using it.

If you watched our console image quality comparsion, you've already heard what my voice sounds like through the Editors Keys SL300 and with the accompanying gear. It's up to you guys whether you think this is a significant upgrade, however!

Buying a gaming PC is very challenging. There are so many different parts out there, and choosing the right stuff to go together requires a lot of research. So we did it for you.

Razer's Kraken Forged Headphones are their first attempt to transition from "gaming headsets" more like "audiophile headphones". Let's see how they did on this first attempt!

The ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition is, in pretty much any way we know how to measure, the best X79 motherboard on the market for gaming, tweaking, overclocking or almost any other use.

The MARS 760 from ASUS is the first "mainstream" MARS or ARES series graphics card we've seen. It's not just a limited "only 1000 ever made" run of products and it comes in a price point that isn't exactly low, but it's in line with other high end graphics card products.

Playstation 4 streaming directly to Twitch is a thing, and we'll be showing you how easy it is to do.

Sandisk has some TINY drives in their Cruzer lineup, and today we show off a couple of them, both of which contrast starkly with the massive OCZ Mega Kart relic we dug up.

The Kraken G10 from NZXT allows you to install your existing Asetek liquid cooling setup on your graphics card for just a few bucks. It's relatively simple to install and quite cost-effective.

The KB-460 from Func's biggest strength may be the fact that I don't really have anything to complain about... Longtime viewers will already know that Cherry MX Reds aren't my favourite keyswitch type, but aside from that (a personal taste thing) there's nothing wrong with it, which is pretty hard to do for something like a keyboard.

2013x520 EVGA Hadron Air

2013x520 EVGA Hadron Air

  • 2013-12-08T23:00:00Z8m

The Hadron Air from EVGA is their first case, and it's actually a VERY solid first attempt. It's extremely compact, but with its integrated 500W 80+ Gold power supply it can still handle a very solid gaming rig!

The Glacer 240L is the result of a collaboration between Cooler Master and Swiftech. It's pre-filled and ready to go out of the box, but unlike many other similar CPU coolers it can also be expanded to add more radiators, GPU blocks, or other cool hardware!

PC dust cleaning is something many gamers know they should do, but might not even be aware of how to do properly. We wanted to make this dust cleaning guide a little bit more fun than our usual "step 1, step 2, step 3 and you're done" style of video. I hope you enjoy it.

2013x524 Nexus 5

2013x524 Nexus 5

This Nexus 5 video was completed over a span of over 3 weeks during which I used only the this phone.

G-SYNC technology is officially in the house... My house, at least, but don't worry you'll be able to try it for yourself fairly soon...

Here's something a little new. This triple unboxing shows off three different items in one video:

Corsair's Vengeance and Raptor lines of gaming headsets have been updated. The 1400, 1500, and 2100 are all in the "premium" tier, while the HS30 and HS40 are in the "essentials" tier.

The Ducky Shine 3 might be the ultimate LED backlit keyboard. It's built like a tank, offers many unique lighting options, and somehow walks that fine line between "pro-looking" and "riced-out"

It's our very first Christmas special! Brandon gets an amazing surprise!

2013x530 WD Black² Dual Drive

2013x530 WD Black² Dual Drive

  • 2013-12-19T23:00:00Z8m

The Black2 dual hard drive & solid state (SSD) drive is WD's unique approach to the age-old problem of being forced to choose between lightning fast performance with limited storage or slower performance with tons of storage. It's TWO drives in one!

The Extreme II from Sandisk sports some great performance numbers and great reliability if customer reviews are to be believed.

The Kuhler 1250 from Antec is a dual pump, dual 120mm fan CPU liquid cooler. Performance-wise we're looking at pretty decent numbers, but I feel like a big part of that is simply due to raw surface area and not because the design is particularly efficient. The cooler could perform better in push/pull, but unfortunately we don't test coolers in push/pull due to the extremely limited number of cases that can accommodate that configuration, particularly with this radiator & pump combination.

The R9 290 vs the GTX 780 has been an... incomplete story due to the lack of availability of non-reference R9 290s up until now. We sought to find out how these two cards would compare to each other when thermal limits were removed from the calculation and they could go head to head with custom liquid cooling!

This is our first value build guide. We've had so many requests for both a value build guide as well as an AMD build guide that we teamed up with AMD to make this one possible. A lot of the emphasis of this video will be on the value of an APU or "accelerated processing unit" versus the more traditional "CPU" that is found in most PCs.

The Siberia Elites from Steelseries had a lot to live up to. They promised me this was their best sounding headset ever... That's a lot to promise to a 7H lover like me. It turns out I was not disappointed, but I'm also not going to be switching to the Siberia Elites as my daily drivers...

The M8 from Asrock is 1 part compact, 1 part innovative, 3 parts kick ass, with a splash of BMW design.

My review of the Ravern RVZ01 from Silverstone is here. It's also kinda an unboxing I guess. The compactness of this case is similar to the Asrock M8, but the key differences here are cost (less $$$), materials (plastic vs aluminum alloy), and cooling (dramatically better with potential for liquid cooling, even!)

2013x538 Cooler Master HAF Stacker

This review and unboxing of the HAF Stacker from Cooler Master weighs in at 20 minutes long, but that's not nearly as hefty (or versatile) as the case itself. Whether it's for gaming, or storage, or whatever else you can think of, the HAF Stacker can probably handle it...
