Build sandcastles
Build a bucket tower
Try making a bucket bed for your toys
Put some water in a small beach bucket. Tie on a small paintbrush. Now paint some water pictures out on the ground or on a fence.

Cut out some dog bones from coloured cardboard. Get someone to hide these around your backyard. Now you can be a dog and go and find them.

Get out some dress up clothes and get dressed up as a worker. What type of worker will you be? - a nurse, a fire fighter, doctor, road worker, captain, shopkeeper, dancer etc.

What jobs do you like to do and help with at home? Make a list.
Dab a tennis ball into some water paint. Now bounce or dab it on some paper. Look at the bouncy ball painting.

Talk about the training of dogs. You may like to visit a dog training session. Does your pet dog follow your commands? Can your dog do special tricks? Like - sit, roll, bark stay, or down?

Put some toy diggers or trucks in a pile of sand or soil in the garden. Have fun digging, scooping, pushing and carrying the soil or sand. Dig some big trenches or holes.

· Make some biscuits or gingerbread using cookie cutters. You may find a dog or cat shaped cookie cutter. Decorate your biscuits with icing. You may like to put them in a special tin or box and give them as a gift. Perhaps you could make some different gift tags for your gift.

· Build your own animal houses for your toys from cardboard boxes: a dog kennel, a cat's basket, a bird's nest, a giraffes house, a mouse house.

· Look in magazines and find as many different kinds of dogs, cats and other pets that you can find. Glue each picture onto a separate piece of paper and thread or staple together to make a pet book.

· Talk about the best way to care for different pets. Where do they sleep? What do they eat? Do you have to wash them? Do they have any special needs?
