The Avengers

I’m doing a mini rewatch before Endgame and I swear I started crying when Tony said "If we can't protect the Earth, you can be damn well sure we'll avenge it". I just can’t believe how far this universe has come and how much the original 6 have grown and changed. I really really really love this world and these characters and I’m not ready to say goodbye to them. So Tony, Steve, you all better stay fucking alive

Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry

Great, great docu, with a beginning, a middle and an end, with a clear vision and (what i feel like was) honesty. Billie and Finneas are proof that, no matter how much the cultural and musical landscape changes, talent always wins out in the end. I don't think there's a person in this world that doesn't think these two were born to make music. Their family life was great to watch, and seeing Billie gain her footing as an artist, but above all a person, was really cool. She's so young, and initially I thought maybe too young to already have a movie made about her, but there's no doubt hers is a story that deserves to be told because it's just so impressive. I'm rooting for her and hope she stays as true to herself as she's been so far.

Started off incredibly strong but starts dragging by the last third. What feels fresh, surprising and original in the beginning becomes repetitive, predictable and quite honestly boring by the end. Still, a very enjoyable watch - I especially liked the genuine chuckles I let out in the first half of the film - some great one liners!

Euphoria: 2x04 You Who Cannot See, Think of Those Who Can

it’s painful that Zendaya is in this (and doing an absolute amazing job) because then I am forced to watch it and even tho so episodes are somewhat worth it, others like this one are literally the most pretentious empty weird self-important 60 minutes of tv. sigh. at least Zendaya is in it.

This Is Us: 2x11 The Fifth Wheel

how can I give something more than 10 hearts??????? this was probably my favourite episode of anything ever. Incredible writing, incredible dialogues, incredible character building, incredible acting and such a viewing experience if you happen to relate to any of these characters (which I think we all do in some way). brilliant work!

Brokeback Mountain
The Godfather

This is regarded by many as the greatest film of all time, and I can definitely see why. Incredible storytelling, tension from the first to the last second, fantastic performances, beautifully shot film, iconic sequences. The story in itself, you know, mob business, doesn't mean anything to me and films only become my absolute favourites when they touch my heart in some way, which this one didn't, neither do most - if not all - the classics. Probably a generational thing, I don't know. Happy I finally watched this, after so long though. It wasn't really what I imagined, but I think I liked it better this way than what I thought it was going to be like.

First Reformed

This was.... interesting. It's one of those films that tries to do too much and ends up falling short. It was a bit all over the place for me in terms of not only style, but also storyline and characters. There are some really incredible dialogues, and the connection between the catholic religion and environmental activism was something that I had never thought about before and yet makes so much sense, so that was definitely my favourite part about this film: it touches a subject and a discussion through an original perspective, even if at times it felt a bit propagandistic. The ending sure was something.. not particularly one I liked, though.

This movie is perfect. The screenplay is incredible, the performances are haunting, the pace, the tone and the storytelling are flawless. What a breath of fresh air.

Great GREAT documentary, with one of the most clear explanations on why cis actors should not be playing trans roles. A must watch.

American Psycho

I thought this was absolutely brilliant. The ambivalence in the story paired with the great satire of the filthy rich and self-obsessed it’s just... chef’s kiss :kissing::ok_hand:

There are no words to describe just how meaningful Folklore is to me, personally, and I wouldn’t want to do it in the trakt comment section anyways, but I just want to say this one thing: Thank you, Taylor.

WandaVision: 1x08 Previously On

this whole show just honestly feels like a treat for the fans who've watched every little thing in the MCU, and even more so I imagine for fans of the comics. It's the MCU "offspring" that's felt the most like "this is for the fans!!" and not as much a "you can consume this movie/show on its own so don't be turned off by all the movies that came before!" type thing. I love it, it makes me feel so proud to understand every single movie reference.

I cried from start to finish watching this. I'm gonna miss this show so much, these characters had potential for a freaking Grey's-Anatomy-long run. I hate this world.

This is the most wholesome Wong film I’ve watched so far. The second story made me so happy for some reason. His movies are often depressing and sad and claustrophobic but this one felt like a rom-com in comparison and a rom-com directed by Wong kar-wai is something that must be seen.

After a banger of a season this was the perfect episode to wrap it all up, with a bow (i mean major cliffhanger) on top. This show's so freaking entertaining, I'm so happy it got renewed seriously!

I just love the simplicity of this movie, how unpretentious and raw it is. Just real emotion, real struggle, real nitty gritty work. The almost documentary feeling is coupled with breath taking scenery and cinematography to make for the most serene, beautiful, intense film. It's so refreshing to see a story about two gay men that doesn't revolve around their sexuality, but instead focuses on their personality traits - Gheorghe's romanticism, Johnny's fear of real emotion or commitment. As characters they really bring out the best in each other and it's so beautiful to watch. It's a love story, that happens to be between two men. Not once is their sexuality an issue for them, or the people around them. I just LOVE Josh O'Connor though, hope to see him in more stuff soon.

IVE FINALLY WATCHED THIS!!!! I think it's the movie that's been on my watchlist the longest. It definitely did not disappoint, I was entertained and captivated from start to finish, but those last 30 minutes were breath taking. Absolutely loved it.

Before Sunset

The most exciting stage of a (fictional) relationship for me personally is exactly the one encapsulated in this chapter of the trilogy. Forget the nerves and ingenuity of a new relationship, i want the angst and the high tension of a past love that didn't work out but is on the verge of a reunion. I'm obsessed with the way this pair of actors explores the different levels of chemistry, applied to each different stage of the chatacters' relationship - it's subtle, but you notice it just enough to make it feel whole and real but still more exciting and dramatic than real life, (which is what we always look for in movies, right?) without ever crossing the bridge to cringiness, which is always the big risk in romantic movies. The dialogues, as always, were an incredibly entertaining chess match to follow, but by far my favourite part is Céline's outburst of emotion in the car, just so so good. That ending has to be one of my favourite endings to a movie ever. I'm obsessed. First one was a solid 9, this one's a good 9,5. Let's see what the third instalment has got!

How to Get Away with Murder: 6x15 Stay

This show had its ups and downs but this final season made up for it all. Bringing everything back from the very first season, tying it all together, putting Annalise properly front and centre, bringing the show back to the courtroom where it belongs, turning everyone against one another, ruining relationships and building new ones. Killing Asher, Bonnie and Frank is ruthless and painful after you've followed them for 6 whole seasons but it wouldn't be HTGAWM without high stakes, pain and shocking deaths. Absolutely loved everything about this ending, especially Annalise getting her happy ending with my girl Tegan. Been watching this show since day one, gonna miss it, and gonna miss Viola Davis' Annalise Keaing especially - one of the greatest characters of all time, portrayed by arguably the best actor of our generation. Goodbye How To Get Away With Murder, thank you for the wild ride!!

Nomadland

Finally got around to watching this gem! It’s such a beautiful depiction of this community of people, and you can tell that it’s made with so much care and empathy for the stories they had to tell. It’s less of a plot film and more a collection of slices of life which, put together, paint a beautiful picture that transcends the screen for an immersive and emotional viewing experience.
