That was way too much for < 30 minutes, it was so uncomfortably rushed that it felt like playing catch-up with each scene. I think even the lines were spoken so fast that the dialogue felt even more stilted. The story was all over the place (with almost everything and everyone who had the say just falling in line according to his plans), and the pacing didn't do it any favors.
A big redeeming factor, especially since they cut this off at one of the worst possible times (I guess this'll be continued in Season 2 like Captain Carter), was the small sneak peek for the possible little Shuri and Pepper team-up.
I love Zachary Levi and wanted to like this so bad... But this was just... bad.
Simon, Balthazar, and Penelope, lmao
Dare I say it, I think this is by far the best batch of finalists of Rupaul's Drag Race. They were all fantastic and, really, it was anyone's game. Very happy about the winner though! She slayed all throughout, especially considering that she never seemed overconfident about her performances.
Definitely thought Scarlet had this in the bag.
And LOL at the 2 bottom queens trying to blow a kiss at Lemon as she walked off the stage after what went down in Untucked and Lemon (whether intentional or not) ignoring them lmao. Also, it was definitely time for the eliminated queen to go home.
The judges are making this pretty hard to watch tbh. (The preview for the next episode is scaring me already...)
I expected so much better from Brooke because I'm biased and loved her in her season, but sometimes her critiques just sound like snide comments she might say during confessionals as a contestant. Yikes.
Meanwhile, JBC... sometimes, he interacts with the queens and I think, okay, he's being nice and giving constructive criticism, maybe — then nope, he turns around and says something mean. His delivery and his judgmental face as he says it make it so much worse; it's like he's trying so hard to be the bitchier version of Simon Cowell, Idek. Hope the production team, if they were the ones who coached him through his behavior, would learn from this.
And well, the irony of the lip-sync song and their comments. Damn. Would have loved for Ilona to have mooned them during the song to prove a point lol
Finally, a win for Scarlett! Because seriously, did the Canada DR producers have something against her all season, or was the rigging of the game just too set in stone to mess up with unexpected wins? So many maxi challenges, including this one, that she could have won.
Somehow I ended up understanding or feeling for Han-su? All this pressure from his dad and everything he dropped to fulfill his dad’s goal for him, only for him to suddenly change things up. Doesn’t change the fact that he grew to become selfish and singleminded that he “wants Han-na to have 0’, that it’s seemingly all he wants, and he’s such a petty brat, but yeah that little outburst spoke volumes.
I have to constantly remind myself that they're just acting, Choi's underling is so annoying especially when he looks all so pleased with himself... making him a very effective actor. lol
Okay, wow, a great follow-up episode to the previous one. With that really good, story-crucial, main character-introducing episode, only a good case-of-the-week would be watchable after, and this was it! Suspenseful, and the guy playing the creepy pyscho killer was pretty good.
Will watch because I saw the show at Universal Studios lol.
