When will these bloody people learn to close their blinds!
Such an excellent show I’ve just binged the box set for the 2nd time and it still gets a 10/10 rating. I haven’t let the last season affect my overall rating in this particular series because I feel that although not great they actually did the best they could with what they had.
It was never going to measure up without Kevin Spacey so I can’t fault the writers at all.
Anyway like I said 10/10 twice!!
I originally rated this series as one of my rare 10/10 but after rewatching this series with my son I have decided to drop my rating to 8/10 and the reason for this is purely the last season. I don’t know what I was thinking originally I really don’t. This season could have been brilliant but now I see it lacked lustre and intrigue, it wrote characters off poorly and without just reasoning and most of all it felt lazy.
I was so excited to get my son to watch this.. I kept saying just wait until it all comes together, but it didn’t. I actually thought maybe e we missed a season without realising but we hadn’t.
The plot in ALT could been made so much more of and Juliana’s storyline just faded into the background. In fact her scenes were so insignificant she may as well have not been there. Don’t get me started on Joe Blake.. what a waste of a good character. So there we go…
out of 500 tv shows only 6 made it into my 10/10 and now there’s only 5 shows.

Breaking Bad
Vikings
Hannibal
Life on Mars
Loved this series! Was looking for something new to get hooked on after watching amongst others.. Law & Order SVU, The Coroner, Line of Duty, Criminal Minds & 60 Days In. This was certainly a brilliant replacement! Totally gripping and addictive with cases that are fitting for any of the above mentioned shows. Murder, sexual Crimes, police corruption, blackmail, abduction.. this has it all! If you love Crime Drama and love True Crime then this is a definitely a show for you.
I tried several times to get into this series but I could never get past the first episode.
This weekend having nothing else whatsoever to watch I finally took the plunge and thank God I did. I am a massive fan of the vikings series and worried that it would not compare, that was a mistake on my part because this series is it’s own story and once I had accepted that (by season 1 ep 4) I loved it in its own merit. I binged all 4 seasons and now it’s over I feel lost! If you like a good solid battlefield drama then this is for you. If you are vikings fan you would probably like it even more so for the references to both Saxons and vikings that you have already come to love and hate.
If you are in any doubt whatsoever please just give it a try. You will not be disappointed. I have only ever awarded 3 TV series a a 10/10 rating; Breaking Bad, House of cards & Vikings. Well I somehow managed to get to season 2 Episode 12, but with the best will in the world I can not watch another single episode ever again…
It is so dreadful it actually makes Teletubbies look exciting. I promise you no excitement, no riveting story lines, no cliff hanging moments, no characters to love or hate.. just bland vanilla..
Don’t get me stated on the lead Walker. The man is a total moron! He can’t say a single sentence without pausing after every other word. Reading his lines is like my 4 year old learning to read. I’m sure he wasn’t as bad as this Supernatural?!? Very weird
I have watched all the best shows and I realise I am now scraping the barrel so I don’t expect amazing, I don’t even expect good…
But at the very least I expect watchable!! Even a 3/4+ / 10 but this is a generous 2 very generous.
This is clearly is the show where bad actors go to die!

What an annoying Super Halfwit that girl is, not to mention that her sidekick actually makes Robin look good! Luckily I didn’t have high hopes so I’m not disappointed just gutted I’m all out of Superhero TV series to watch now!
Thanks to the whole Elizabeth saga over the last couple of seasons i am now dropping my rating from 8/10 to a mere 6/10 !! The character of Liz should have been booted 2 plus years ago. I hope the writers see sense and lose her before season 9 or I will be forced to drop their rating to an embarrassing 4/10
Well thank God they finally got rid of Elizabeth. Back to what the show should be about … The Blacklist. Looking forward to it…

Oh bring back the days of the team. Ezra, Avi, Lena & Ray… they were brilliant together. I miss those days. Ray has turned into such a bloody twat, even I want to slap him.

Do not hesitate to watch this… it’s fucking there with the likes of Vikings and breaking bad… I’d even go so far as to say this show is even better than it’s original ‘Power’
I’ve been patient, I’ve watched 6 episodes but each and everyone is more boring than the previous. It’s a shame…. The idea is good but the writing has let it down terribly. 3 /10 at a push.
Drawn in initially by my love of the Dan Brown books, this is nothing more than a poor mans Indiana Jones!
The main character is to put it mildly.. boring monotone and is more likely to put you to sleep than entice you in on an exciting adventure.
No mystery and intrigue here as you just want the episode to conclude or should I say the series to conclude.
I think the first four seasons were superbly written, beautiful, yet psychotically sick. However I do feel that in some way the last season let itself down. I’m not quite sure what I was expecting but it didn’t meet whatever was my expectation. Many threads of storylines were glossed over to reach what I felt was a speedy conclusion. This is nowhere near the scale of… let’s say Hannibal, which I rated 10/10 but I do feel this show its worthy of a 7/10 which is still a high rating for me. Not many get past the 6/10 for me. They do have to be exceptional.
Personally I enjoyed this season. I thought the the analogies of the 80’s AIDS epidemic were brilliantly written. If they were trying to make people understand the fear surrounding this issue they did. I grew up in the 80’s and remember it being main news for a long time but despite that I didn’t really understand just how frightening it must have all been.
I won’t go in to more detail about this season as I don’t want to give anything away but suffice to say I do think they hit the nail on the head.
I’m bored… same shit different day… Greed.. greedy for money, power, success, fame we all know it won’t end well.
It was like watching Oceans 11 on LSD !!! Anyway my order was:

The first series fantastic. A real edge of your seat thriller but the 2nd series - wow it’s really let the show down. Every aspect of it was simply boring. What a shame!

I’m afraid I can’t jump on the bandwagon with this one… I just don’t get it. I found it boring predictable and lazy to say the least. The characters had no emotional chemistry with each other or anyone else for that matter. It just felt wooden. I see the fascination with fans of the game but for me I’d rather watch FTWD and that’s saying something!

Unfortunately the bar is set high when you have already seen the best series TV has to offer. Now it’s a case of embracing what’s left in the barrel and lower your expectations.
I think their ultimate mission was to bore me to death. Acting poor - writing poor - storylines poor. Just bad TV all round.
‘Genre’ - Action, Adventure, Drama, Comedy.
There was none of the above. The only laughable thing about this would be if they commissioned a 2nd series.
Guess that’s what happens when you write produce and make yourself a lead character.
Only Sly Stallone can get away with that!
If you miss peaky blinders this helps. It’s been in my watchlist for a couple of years never thought I’d end up watching it but with the lack of anything else I decided to give it a go. Glad I did. Gripped from episode one. Tom hardy was amazing and Stephen Graham well… brilliant as always. It’s just 8 episodes so if you are umming give it a go. A new season due out next year 2024 apparently so fingers crosssed.
Stephen Graham would make a fantastic Ebenezer Scrooge!

It doesn’t leave you satisfied it doesn’t leave with questions answered or answered for that matter. It certainly doesn’t leave you wanting more. I feel so let down in this Apple production after the likes of Blackbird and slow horses this makes you want to give up on Apple TV for good.
