Okay but skydiving & landing on a helipad is insanely iconic. (Unless you've landed on the wrong helipad skdhflds.)
The rom-com vibes!!!
NOT WHILE SHE'S ON THE TOILET LOLLLL I'M SCREAMING.
Glad I take Trakt.tv comments with a grain of salt because this movie was quite literally a work of art. I’m a sucker for anything that toes the line of cosmic horror and Jordan did this beautifully.
Even without listing off metaphors or “you just don’t get it” statements this film stands alone as a slow burn tension building horror/scifi epic. As long as you’re willing to accept not every question needs an answer, and not every “otherworldly thing” needs an origin story, this should be a fun ride for you. This checked all the boxes of what I want in an alien movie for me.
Rated it a 9, but so close to a perfect 10. There were some odd character choices and I do think it’s about 30 minutes too long but I found myself not wanting it to end by the final act anyhow. SO GOOD!
fuck fuck fuckkkk what a good fucking episode holy shit. i could barely breathe when it was all happening at the end. im so mad at roman and lawrence and ewan right now. so fucking mad.
You come at the king, you best not miss.
"You better be smelling your fuckin' armpit, Romulus." and the way Rome cowered at the end had me dying.
I can’t believe I’m actually invested in a Spider-Man series now
So relieved they managed to fix the butter issue.
What other cartoon talks about the queer Asian experience? This show is something special. And on top of a relatable story of heartbreak, coming out, and dolls invading your house
THE TWILIGHT REFERENCE!! I'M SCREAMING!!!
Just two words : Din Grogu :joy:
Damn, whenever this show has the liberty to not tell an actual concise story, it does what Star Wars does best: well-choreographed action, fantastic stages, costumes and FX. Well done! The score is awesome btw (Imho still the stronges aspect of this show. Kudos to Göransson). Needless to say: the kid and all robots are adorable. Despite the season's overall lackluster and meandering story, they kind of found a meaningful ending for all factions and characters involved. I was actually kind of satisfied that they found a home and a purpose.
Din Grogu. I am glad it was a wholesome episode unlike the leaks online
It's disheartening to read comments criticizing the series for not living up to the standards set by previous seasons and for lacking action in some episodes. I advise viewers to have patience because there is undoubtedly a bigger plan in store for the series, masterminded by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, which will likely involve other shows dedicated to other characters.
i respect differing opinions, but I think it's important to recognize the unique nature of The Mandalorian. It's a show that blends genres and explores the Star Wars universe in exciting ways. It's not just about flashy action scenes, but also about character development and building a world that feels authentic and immersive.
Overall, while some viewers may feel disappointed with certain aspects of the third season, I believe it's worth sticking with the series and giving it a chance to fully unfold. With Filoni and Favreau at the helm, I have no doubt that there are some exciting surprises and twists in store for us.
Marc Spector, Steven Grant, and a hippopotamus walk into a mental hospital.
The transition between Marc and Steven (and also their suits) during the episode was definitely something else that I'll be obsessed with for the rest of the year.
And thank you, Mohamed Diab for finally showing Egypt without the "Hollywood yellow filter". He’s doing an amazing job directing this show, I absolutely love the soundtrack and the visuals.
Absolutely loving this. Oscar Issac is giving one hell of a performance as Steven/Mark and seeing both the Moon Knight suits was so Awesome!! Ethan Hawke is also definitely giving such creepy vibes. Khonshu is just Perfect too!! The invisible fight scene its so well done.
This is the way. Five.
If the Mandalorians can do four words why can’t Trakt?
The Dreamworks Renaissance is officially here. This is their best work since Kung Fu Panda 2 and the best Shrek film since Shrek 2. Can not fucking wait for what this studio has in store for the future now.
Janine: “You’re looking good.”
Ava: “It would be breaking news if I didn’t!”
“My lies don’t discriminate.”, “In a rare turn of events. I was wrong.”, “Finest one in first one out” - Ava Coleman is one of the funniest characters on television. Of course she applied for the job of chief marketing officer at Legendary Schools.
There were so many great moments in this episode. Everyone was truly at their most frantic and desperate this episode, but they were still on each other’s team and I like that.
“This guy is playing Powerball with our kids!” - I don’t want Janine to get back with Tariq, but I’m happy to see him because he’s so damn funny. I need Ava to hire him as the music teacher.
“Times Roman! The most decisive of the fonts!”
Only Barbara can call someone a jackass with a bright smile.
I don’t think that’s the end of the Legendary storyline.
Are you gonna shoot it or get it pregnant :joy:
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I'm really enjoying how toned down the violence is, because it really grounds the experience. Yeeting him off a second story catwalk and onto rebar is spectacle, but a simple stab wound in a quiet encounter really drives home how high the stakes are when the violence is so mundane. When it comes without spectacle or massive budgets. It reminds people of what violence actually is and forces them to connect with the intimacy of it, and I think this is something that's been a long time coming. I'm not the type to blame media for society's ills, but I do believe it could be doing more to impress upon people the consequences and nuance of violence, and The Last Of Us is a masterclass in this kind of storytelling.
The clicker scene was masterfully translated from video game to live action, the tension was insane! Incredible episode.
I loved what they show did with Ava this week; having her stumble into a genuine learning moment is sweet but still with totally in-character humor/diss.
The kids are the secret weapon of this show. So many of them are hilarious with their line deliveries.
Comments here need to be at minimum 5 words, but there are only 3 that are needed:
holy shit, chef
Very sweet and funny. Main character is a trans boy, very nice
This is how you do an action movie. Just the right amount of everything without being over the top. Spot on !
This was the best episode of the season. And that says a lot.
