First half had promise. The villain was corny AF. And I love Jermaine Fowler. But this wasn't the role for him.
The final act squandered the whole movie.

I watched this hoping for a new version of Cube, but it's basically just an exact remake of the original. It's a lot more dramatic and emotional at times. And there are a couple of small wrinkles added in that has some slight differences. But ultimately the store and pacing and most other aspects of the film are exact. Not worth the watch if you're a fan of the originals.

It was fun if you like some of the actors here. But it's largely just a bad B-Movie featuring the Lawrence brothers not doing much of anything.
I was disappointed in this one. I saw the one released on youtube about his young friend and that was great. This one was kind of a mess and I get why the director inserted himself, but it also felt like he made it about himself toward the middle, rather than focusing on the mystery surrounding Johnathan and the multiple documentaries.
I kept waiting for him to ask Johnathan: "If these people told you they were part of an award winning documentary team and then they weren't, don't you feel duped? And why are you still happy about it if you were, in fact, duped? Pretty key question left out of this.
Either way, there were missing elements and it kind of felt like the film was taking this guy dealing with his pain and showing most of his a*hole moments. Was insightful at times but mostly a cluster-f**.
I found this one to be one of the weaker episodes. It was a bit boring at first and, kind of, all over the place. But it got decent in the 2nd half with a twist at the end.
I did not expect this to be such a bummer of a movie. I mean that in terms of story, not movie quality.
As far as the movie quality, I was interested but when the tragedy happens the film goes into complete unbelievability. It's still watchable, but it lost me half way through.
I had high hopes for this one but it was just ok.

You have to be stoned AF to even begin to comprehend what's going on here.
All American is already starting to get stale. More of the same from a side character that no one cared about in the first place? Hard pass.

Man, I was so excited to see this re-made. And yet, Ghostwriter in the 90's was such a weird unique thing on television that, when you think about it, can't really be re-made. This series proves that. There's nothing really terrible about it. It's just not Ghostwriter...

Wasn't sure what to expect here. It was just ok. I see what they're going for but I don't think it works. It's a pretty high concept and I don't expect it to make a full season.
I just don't get it. Between this and Big Bang Theory, I don't know how these shows stay on the air for so long.
This was the worst episode up through the first 6 (haven't see the last two yet). The story had potential but the ending sucked. I also felt like they could have picked a guy that had better acting with the English language. His English speaking felt stilted and insincere.
Kyle Mooney is hit or miss on SNL. This is a miss. I'm the target demo, since I grew up in the 80s/90s culture, but it just didn't connect for me.

If you’re a huge fan of the comic book, like I am, you will be severely disappointed if you had hopes this was good.

I started out really wanting to like this series. Im a big fan of both fish out of water stories and the Joe Schmoe Show, which I had hoped this would be close to.
After the first episode I wasn’t very impressed, but found it amusing enough to keep going.
At some point, I noticed that this is NOT on the level of Joe Schmoe. It became clear that a lot of scenes that center around the actors have been filmed ahead of time. I get that the story is already written so they have a good idea where things will go.
But I expect a show with this premise to film completely on the fly. Prerecorded interviews and soliloquies go against the entire point of the show.

It honestly pains me to give a show of adorable pups such a low grade, but you can see from the opening how bad this was going to be. I was hoping for Amazing Race with dogs and while they’re going for that, it’s excited so poorly. There’s also waaaaaay too much in between anything actually happening. They take too long to get to the point.

Every piece of this movie is a stereotype.
The writing is terrible, the accents are god awful.

I knew the girlfriend would love seeing This Is Us guy on tv. There was time travel involved. The trailer made then film look, at least, interesting. Couldnt lose. The movie didn't live up to even that much. At the point I figured out this was not going to recover, I had to continue watching to see how bad it could get. And to enjoy the horrendous acting from everyone involved.
If you must know what this film is like... Imagine if a Nicholas Sparks novel ate a low budget romcom, pooped it out, ate it again and then vomited everything out into a physics book.
Avoid if genuinely interested. Or watch for a laugh. Whatever your flavor...

This was the first movie in 41 years that I've watched that felt like I've wasted my life with the time I used to get through this whole thing, to then land the ending that I got. F Afflak. F the director. And most importantly F Melinda for being the most hateable character of all time.
