Missed opportunity for Keeley to complain that "he's here, he's there, he's every-f*cking-where".
Damn. Fury is deep in that Skrussy.
This is the most overrated movie I have ever seen. It is not a terrible movie but people giving this 9's and 10's must be in love with the smell of Timothee Chalamets farts.
Some of the dialogue in this movie is laughably bad which is a shame because the cast is extremely strong and capable.
There were pacing issues throughout the movie - the fight at the end seemed like it just kinda happened with no build up. There was no tension or payoff to the big battle, just a big fight with a bunch of decent looking CGI.
Austin Butlers character and the Harkinnen moments were the best parts of the movie. I enjoyed that arc.
The penultimate moment of Timothee vs Austin was super predictable, and executed in a dull and boring way. The outcome was also very obvious.
Great visuals, although I would not say "innovative" visuals. The Creator, released last year, for example, was far more visually appealing than Dune Part Two, on a lower budget.
Super mid movie, worth your money, and nice to look at (especially in IMAX) but giving this a 9 or 10 is wild
Absolutely blown away by this to be honest. Probably Marvel's most unique and daring project they have ever done, and it's played so wonderfully straight that I can't help but adore it. Whether or not the sitcom elements work for you personally will all depend on your familiarity with them, as well as your tolerance for slow build storytelling, but overall this is really damn good stuff and proof Marvel knows exactly what they are doing and have for years.
It helps that the sitcom stuff is genuinely amusing and wholesome, with both Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany turning in pitch perfect performances that wonderfully emulate the style of old school sitcoms from the 50s, which will likely evolve as the show continues on. And even with the great writing on hand, something is really off and feels icky about a lot of it on purpose - the fake commercial in the middle in particular is creepy as hell and serves to demonstrate just how quickly this show grips you. Fantastic stuff and I cannot wait for more.
ANOTHER love interest for Jane? Yawn. This show has lost its touch.
I didn’t mind the drama side to it, but by the time it got into the horror it was switching between 3 different locations and there was no real scare and I just wanted it to be over.
I was really impressed with Andra Day’s performance, keen to see what else she does.
Also, who the eff cares that Glenn Close said yes to this role. Like that queen has done nearly every type of role, let her have some funnn. Doubt this movie is going to do any damage to her career lol
Yes, we get it. The evil guy is evil. No need to show us again and again.
I've soldiered through all 6 episodes and now can have my informed opinion. I'm so glad this mistake is finally over. Unfortunately, it stains the big title name forever.
Lots of random stuff that was kind of weird (super fast travel, Benjen dying after being on screen for like 5 seconds, Arya acting like a psychopath), but overall the episode was great, and Viserion's demise was heartbreaking.
After the previous episode, this is the epitome of a buzzkill.
Some good moments this episode but also a lot of nonsense. I don't understand how it makes any sense for any of them to not agree to Reginald's plan? They are literally all about to die anyway, so it's entirely redundant for anyone to make the argument that they might die if they follow the plan. Doesn't matter if Reginald is hiding something or if it's some sort of trap. They are literally ALL GOING TO DIE. It makes zero sense for anyone not to take the chance.
I have no idea what I WAS expecting to happen in this seasons premiere but THIS wasn't it.
I feel like I've missed an entire season worth of storyline. The one thing I did understand is that Madrigal is gone. Glassed. So much for all that resistance talk in season one. I guess it was all for nil. And what about the portal that's supposed to be there ? But if there is one person that survived it had to be Kwan.
New characters so far are awful. That new "boss" is a walking cliché. I would like to say I'm excitied to have the show back but after just this episode I'm more worried than excited.
Overbloated beyond belief. Lots of pointless dialogue scenes that serve absolutely no purpose. Particularly annoying is the overextended boring epilogue that goes on forever. Sure there are good scenes here and there,, but not enough to justify the two hour plus running time. This episode ought to have been 75 minutes maximum.
The season started excited
Ended disappointed
The plot is a mess, with many scenes that go nowhere. The action is mediocre and cam-shaky; most of the time there is no what of telling what the fuck is going on and where people where in relation to each other.
Seven minutes of credits, what the fuck? There were like 7 actors with speaking parts & few extras in the background. Could’ve used that extra time to explain what the actual fuck is going on.
So far, I’m not digging the new season. It's just very weird, starting with the fact all family members survived attacks that should have killed them.
It seems like this episode nothing really happened other than Jimmy left. But I couldn't care less about him, he’s always been a useless character.
I'm getting so tired of Monica. Has there been a single episode in 4 seasons where she hasn’t just been sad and whiny? Her and Tate's PTSD would sure have impacted me more if I could have seen it develop on screen.
I don’t like the Carter storyline. Beth and Rip are supposed to be the adults in this situation but the two are so physically rough with the kid. It's very overdone and unnecessary. Also, Beth’s character is so poorly written and cringe. I feel like she has turned into the writer’s highlight reel for one-liners that aren’t quite as needed or clever as they think.
I really wish they would cut out the horse spinning, because it's boring and just take time from the actual show. There was never that much footage of the horses in previous seasons.
The only episode where I recall genuinely laughing out loud. Not because this show isn't funny — its almost constant bleaker tone doesn't really leave much room for tears of laughter (only the other kind of tears) — but that lady and her homemade desserts... Oh my. Yes, it was a bit crude and basic humour, but the way it was unexpectedly inserted in a show of this nature caught me off guard.
And I really enjoyed how this episode, unlike the others, ended on a more positive note. People may be shit, but Tony may be finally seeing a glimpse of the better side of humanity in a few of them.
I am so disappointed in this particular show. The music and the way father and daughter found the connection in the music was beautiful and I can relate. But actually glad Lucifer is finishing up this season. This last season has really gone to hell in more ways than one. White man bad, white cops bad... Continue this bull crap negative and false narratives and the entertainment industry will be going straight to hell also. Sad. The first few seasons were really quite good and I've enjoyed Lucifer's return and renewal. But now I'm guessing because of new writers the shows going the way it has. Oh well, just a few more episodes, if I can.
Great episode, but it really bugs me that this is classed as a 'special'. This is a straight-up episode of Downton Abbey, only longer. Starting season 3 without watching this first would be entirely wrong, so much would be missed. Special episodes should be stand-alone and shouldn't impact the overall plot/direction of a show going forwards.
Again, fantastic episode, but by no means is this a 'special' episode.
i wish i had no Memory of ever watching this.
Me, understand nothing about chess: "oh wow, that's a bold move right there!"
Cinematography and acting are top notch, just wish the story moved a little faster.
For now it's just been 3h of "people surviving disasters", which isn't the worst ... unless you were expecting more sci-fi stuff (which of course we were, lol).
When I thought this show couldn't get worse, it did.
More confusion than ever. No surprise there. I think this show's real accomplishment is keeping people like me, who have no clue what the hell is going on, interested enough to keep watching despite that. But it is frustrating.
I am watching the series in preferred order:
I have to be honest. I found the first two episodes to be rather boring with low production values (which I expected given ultra low budget) and weak performances from several cast members.
But my friends urged me to continue on, so here I am, watching the 3rd episode. Well, Bushwhacked wasn't boring, with Alien-like undertone. And some of the characters like Mal, Wash, and Jayne are starting to grow on me. I am still not entirely sure the series will live up to ultra high hype, but I am now looking forward to watching the next episode.
Imogen's change of heart regarding the New Dawn is a mystery. Of course that dialogue could have been an act with the love-making scenes ultimate, "Louder, so they hear", as a closing parentheses.
A party full of cops and nobody sees anything? I call B.S. on that one. No way. Not possible. Dumbest ending there could be. An otherwise decent episode ruined.
