The absolute cheek of Hulu calling this a "Hulu Original" when it was originally announced in 2012, got stuck in development hell at 20th Century Fox, then was planned to release under Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures, then the release was postponed, re-announced, delayed again before the film leaked a few months ago…
Hulu, you had nothing to do with creating this movie; please don't brand it like you did.
I'm also interested in any background on why the version Hulu released this week runs only 94 minutes, when IMDB indicates the runtime should be 100 minutes. What did they cut? I wonder…
I have to admit that it's fun. The characters are all pretty flat, even Roy, but the concept is cool enough even if Mel Gibson makes for a really lame villain with no depth whatsoever.
Where others objected to the title, I thought "Boss Level" was fairly apt. Roy's experience mirrors what a gamer might have to do in order to clear a particularly difficult level in a video game. That worked really well for me—much better than the characters.
You think Selina Lo ever got tired of saying, "I am Guan Yin, and Guan Yin has done this"? :joy:
Nice. All the things supposed to be in a space movie are in there.
CGI is really good. Acting is ok, story is ok. If you do not think too much on some details, it is a fine entertaining movie.
Enjoy.
Much better than it had any right to be thanks in part to its two lead actors (Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz), who work acting miracles with a poor script.
Was great watching this film again earlier, the production is flawless. I am just sad that there will not be a follow up movie, well...for now at least!
I've never been such so disappointed with a MCU movie! Big MEH :expressionless:
Toad and Sabretooth so annoying and boring.
A harrowing, barefaced look at not only the atrocities of The Kill Team, but also America's actions in Afghanistan as a whole. Asks some poignant questions about the young, naive soldiers sent from smalltown America and how they are coerced by anger, fear and rank in the American military machine. While not a comfortable watch, it's definitely one that I'd recommend atleast watching once.
Now that was a well made animation and a lot of fun with some great action and loved the sense of humor in it and all the easter eggs and loved the style of animation also great to see more from the studio that brought Spider-Verse another great one XD
Now this was hilarious. What an amazing ride this was. This is what happens when passionate people create something they care about. The cinematography: TOP, The relatability: TOP, The Comedy: TOP
All in all instantly, one of my favorite animated films
The grand-grandfather of CGI. Revolutinary at it´s time. Still fun to watch
If you're watching on Disney Plus, this forms the first two episodes of Season 2 - which it doesn't in Trakt, annoyingly. Either way, this is a good way to lead into Season 2 of Rebels. Darth Vader is, as expected, very dark and menacing, although its surprising that none of the main protagonists have ever heard of Darth Vader, as he is the Emperor's second-in-command of the entire empire. Perhaps that is because DV is something of a stealth weapon - if he is deployed, then his enemies don't very often live to tell the tale.
It's okay but overall I was disappointed with this movie. I didn't enjoy the first third at all really. Wanda was just annoying in this too. Got better towards the rear end at least.
watchable.. that's about it unfortunately
Well, it is not so bad in total. It has acceptable CGI but with a weak story. I watched it by English audio which irritated me with weird conversations. Action/Sci-Fi fans may find the movie attractive. BTW, the end is open for a sequel. 5.5/10.
Despite the fact that I didn't like the movie very much, I just can't help noticing its advantages. There are quite a lot of them (advantages): camerawork, music, sound, editing, acting, scenery, makeup, costumes. Even in 2020, the film looks very good. However, there are also disadvantages, just one disadvantage movie turned out to be quite boring. Because of this, I put 6 out of 10. However, I will watch the second and third parts. Most likely, fantasy is just not my genre.
P.S. sorry for mistakes English is not my native language.
Yeah... the plotholes were a bit much on this one.
While entertaining on a basic level, it's really sad that this is what Netflix does with our money.
Definitely not one of pixar’s best but still a decent film with a lovely message and some beautiful effects and picture, animation is definitely improving the more time goes on.
It's funny but I didn't particularly like it much the first time around but my daughter loved it. And, I will admit that it has grown on me over time. She's watched it over and over and memorized the songs. She's bought the clothes, loves the style and has read the books and graphic novels. And in the end the world it builds kind of pulls you in and you get to see new characters. And in the end, you get over the cheesiness and even come to enjoy it
Even at the very beginning of the movie, I felt like it was trying too hard. And it just feels like it could be better. There was no "wow" factor even for a kid. Bad acting, bad lip syncing. I don't know if I'll watch the sequels. I try to understand that it's a Disney Channel movie so it's obviously a low budget film.
If you love Arsene Lupin, there is a chance that you enjoy this another timekiller movie. . There are a few gaps in the scenario but it is ok, just watch and pass without expecting any robbery scenes or exaggerated action moments. Liam is Liam as always, nothing more nothing less. 6/10
Good, but not great. Entertaining enough to enjoy popcorn  while watching.
I see lot of people call this boring because they are used to usual fight - shoot - drive like maniac types of action movies. But I quite enjoyed this one as it didn't have so much fighting and shooting just for fun of it, so it felt more about story.
Having not read the books, I can't really comment on the similarities/differences between the books and the films, so my comment will be purely based on the film.
Overall I enjoyed this film, and I completely disagree with the comments/complaints that this series is just trying to be the next Hunger Games, it's very different in my opinion. I enjoyed the political undertones but only as an exaggeration of a bad system that the leaders always think is "best for the people". I have seen this before and could remember the big plot points but not the little things, so it was good to refresh my memory, but maybe the suspense was taken away by the prior knowledge.
I would, as always, recommend watching this film.
7/10

I almost turned this movie off when seeing the intro. Glad I stuck around tho. Turns out this is a fun and endearing movie. It is actually quite a fun little movie. I especially love the various animation styles used.
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
This movie was amazing. Great adaptation of great book! The director managed to capture the struggle of Katniss and the others characters in the games! And also the fight of districts for better future.
Recommendation to everyone who love this genre to watch it!
Below average movie for these days, too unrealistic, the best part tho, was Thor watching it from the sidelines, probably at the time he was getting fat, lol
The action scenes are quite good but the plot and dialogue undermine the movie.
Vespa is life and life is beautiful
This held up better than I expected. Maybe it's some nostalgia but I still think this is entertaining. I love all the character and their interactions but the story isn't the best and the special effects are dated.
