Wow. GLOW is such a fantastic show with a lot of unexpected depth to it. I didn't know what to really expect (other than Alison Brie wrestling other women) after just skimming some reviews online and trying not to spoil myself, but it was very well made dealing with a myriad of different social issues and themes. I never thought that so much drama and intrigue could come out of making a female wrestling league/show.
There are definitely a decent amount of feminism and SJW vibes, which can usually turn me off to a show/movie if taken overboard. However, I thought the tone of the show struck a very nice balance to those themes with wisely timed comedic dialogue and chose not to go too overboard on stating some of the "obvious". I really liked the emphasized theme of "things don't just happen; people make choices" that is expanded upon. There are some times you can't just blame society and everyone else for everything, and at times, you have to just take some responsibility yourself.
Alison Brie did a great job as the lead in this one, and hit the humorous parts quite well. She definitely doesn't play the typical spunky girl who never gets down in order to overcome all obstacles in this one. Lots of bad shit happens to her constantly in this show (some of it self-inflicted), and she has to eventually deal with the consequences. Some are dealt with better than others. She really developed her character throughout the course of this season, but she never really crossed into that "totally likeable" realm for me.
However, this is alright because the other supporting characters in GLOW were fantastic in their roles as well. I was pleasantly surprised that the show was really able to flesh out almost every single character/female wrestler introduced and give them all some plot lines and conflict to overcome (even Sheila the wolf girl!!). My favorite girl/wrestler was probably definitely Debbie, played by Betty Gilpin. She is just badass and goes totally YOLO at times. The end of episode 1 was just pure f'n gold. I could watch that entire scene over and over again. It was so well acted out between Alison Brie and herself. I also really enjoyed Marc Maron's character, the director Sam Sylvia, who adds a ton of crass humor into all the dialogue that he's given. He could have just mailed it in as the sleazy coke'd out director, but he completely owns the role and adds so much to the show.
Anyway, I really enjoyed GLOW and I'm hoping for confirmation of a second season ASAP because the creators definitely left a few loose-ends hanging and we still have a lot more potential story to unfold. Looks like Netflix has another hit on their hands. Watch/binge it if you can at least before GoT owns all our lives starting in July.

THE FEELS!!
ಥ_ಥ at the ending...
Such a fantastic origin movie and a welcome 'win' for the DCEU at last.
Nice. This was actually a well-paced episode adapting the source material without rushing through everything. It's nice that they're letting this arc breathe a little since it is pretty epic overall. Gave us some nice background on Rumia x Queen, and even had that nice Lynn/Rin moment. And poor Rumia... When will people stop trying to kidnap/kill/molest her?
Not any time soon...
Classic Glenn getting way in over his head. It never gets old. I love it even though the pacing is kind of crazy so far. Next week's episode will be full of action and new characters. So pumped.
Well, another great episode but they definitely had to rush through the events to cover everything in this one episode. The studio could have taken a little more time and added one more episode to flesh out the battles over the past two episodes, but they still did a good job of covering most of the important content. For the bigger fans, I do recommend reading the manga chapters of this arc (and probably the others) as they do flesh things out a little better.
Glenn being a badass and Sistine having some great moments as usual. Nice little looks at Sera here (which is a good sign for how far the anime adaptation will go) and Rumia being Rumia. And we finally got to see the OP (which was glorious). Next up is the Magic Competition arc which was one of my personal favorites, and I'm very excited to see it adapted. This is where basically Glenn is confirmed as greatest MC ever. Bring it on!!
Been waiting forever for the second season and well, that was a nice throwback episode to get us back into the groove of things. Classic Utaha vs Eriri and now we got to see the genesis of it all :O
I don't know if any new elements will be introduced this season, but I'm hoping for some fireworks.

I love that we're getting right into the thick of things rather than stalling a bit on the slower material. Glenn is already showing glimpses of his former "BOSS" self. The main battle in the next episode is going to be absolutely lit and I hope it gets animated pretty well. Can't wait!
Picked this one up on a whim and I really enjoyed the first episode so far. It's got a nice base set of girls so far and I'm feeling the humor. I actually read all the manga last night after watching the first episode, and if things follow along, this should actually be a pretty solid show. Really nice animation and character designs so far and Glen is a ball-star. And so many great faces in the first episode...
By far one of my favorite episodes featuring Shawn SpenSTAR and Gus TT "Showbiz". A classic.
"Merry Christmas. MERRY CHRISTMAS! MERRY. CHRISTMAS. M-E-R-R-Y-C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S..."
I have now forever associated Vigne to the saying "Merry Christmas". Well done...
I think the big question that arises after this episode is...
"Who will end up NOT making out with Archie in this series?"
I'm dying to find out!!
Oh lord. The Sakie/Satou-sensei moments were just amazing this episode. The first half of this episode is any Sakie fan's dream. Loved her "testing" out her succubus powers on Takahashi-sensei and, of course, that "oops" moment at the end topped it all off. All the faces and inner monologues were just classic.
We finally got to see the gag-manga loving, playful, and "troll-faced" side of Yuki in this episode, and it was all that I could wish for and more. Loved the flashback to Satou-sensei's past and her middle-school encounter with an "unruly" boy, which was epic. Top it all off with the arm tasting contest, and you've got a fun episode for sure.
So I've been keeping up with Riverdale and, to my surprise, the show has become pretty solid. I was definitely a bit let down by the first episode, but the following episodes have done a pretty good job building the community and characters around Riverdale. It's definitely got some of that kooky murder-mystery vibe from Twin Peaks (which apparently was a drawing point for this series & with Madchen Amick playing Mrs. Cooper) and I'll admit that things are getting more interesting with regards to Jason's "murder" especially with some of the revelations in this episode. While it definitely isn't classic Archie (and probably shouldn't be thought of that way), it's got its own merits and has definitely improved with each episode.
"RAAAAAAAAAMPAGE!!!!!!!!!!!"
At some point in my life, I do want to view a full, unadulterated copy of "Terms of Enrampagement".
This has literally become a battle of "who is absolute the worst in the universe" in terms of relationships and actual love...
I love it.
I was expecting to go a little more in-depth with Sakie/Satou-sensei's past (due to last week's preview) but this episode was pretty enjoyable as well. I liked the introduction of both Ugaki and Kurtz, especially the first convo between Kurtz and Sakie. I always love her inner monologue "troll" voice. It's always great seeing Satou-sensei squirm around so this episode hit the jackpot.
It's been a little while since I read Fuuka, but I don't remember any of this Koyuki drama mixed in at the end of the episode along with some of the changes to the concert. This definitely seems like it's going full-speed toward an "anime-original" ending, so I have no clue what is going to happen. I'm still assuming "that" is going to happen though. I'm always pretty hesitant when an anime makes drastic changes from the manga so we'll see how it all plays out.
"PIKIIIIIITUUUUUS!?!?!?!?!!!!!"
The legend has returned. Greatest. Ending. Ever.
Yuisaki-san is da best... and the most "developed". If only she could win...
Honestly, I wasn't really feeling this episode. It felt like the weakest of the second season. Kazuma just isn't the same when he isn't in mountains of debt. And while the whole gang was back in action, something just felt... off. I did like the "dirty" Megumin coming into play at the end, but wish it was "dirtier".
Fafnir x Takiya is the OTP. Best. Pairing. Ever. Also, that subtle yuri loli-vibe... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Secondhand smoke. The #1 stealth killer in this series unbeknownst to all but Tanya-chan...

Another enjoyable episode. I just love me my weekly dose of Demi-chans/Monster-girls. A great job focusing on the relationship between Hikari & Himari, which is always a blast to watch. I love Himari's facial reactions when she just goes YOLO. She does not hold back.
From what I can tell in the previews, it looks like the next episode will look into Satou-sensei's past experiences as a succubus (it looked like a shot of her in high/middle school at one point). I'm very interested in seeing the carnage that a young succubus-chan unleashed on prepubescent boys in a little unexpecting Japanese school...
Well, we finally got to the moment before the start of their first concert! YAY?? Under normal circumstances, I would really like this slow and well-built pace, but with so little of the season left, I'm afraid that things aren't going to be well concluded. I would love for Fuuka to get a second cour and an additional 12 episodes to really get to the best parts of the story. Oh well...
In regards to the episode, Tama-chan/Koyuki dropping mad truth bombs with no regard for human/loli life :P This is the calm before the storm of the next episode which should probably be the best yet. Can't wait.
This episode was "en fuego". Everybody banging left and right... except for Mugi x Hanabi!?!?!?! I definitely liked the development here between Mugi and Hanabi though they didn't go "all-the-way". And Akane's whole "wtf is this shit" monologuing while dealing with Kanai-sensei was just hilarious. She is rapidly climbing my favorite character ladder now with this new YOLO personality of her's.
This was an absolutely amazing-sauce Darkness episode and is probably my favorite episode of this new season. This time the Darkness M-dynamic was played out just perfectly and I enjoyed every second of it. RIP Vanir but I'll always be rooting for the OTP: Darkness x Vanir.
Another cute episode. I always love Akko x Amanda team-ups (or face-offs) as they always both go at with their YOLO attitudes. The unexpected ending sequence definitely lead to some hilarity. Of course, Diana comes in to save the day again, but this time I'm alright with it. Kind of...
...No. I'm not.
So lit. I hope Tapris-chan gets to make a few more appearances in this one. Her face-off vs Satania was EPIC. The list of best girls continues to grow just like my love of this show...
Dang. This is a lot better than I expected. Tanya is just SAVAGE throughout. "Tamaya!!!" gg Dakia.
