Warming to the series now. I enjoyed this episode and Nao continues to be best.

Well, that was quite a journey. A perfect end to a fantastic series. The episodes just flew by and it was over all too soon.

I wonder who got you to start watching this masterpiece?

Never thought I'd say this, but I think I might have to defect to #TeamChitoge. Sorry Onodera, you're still lovely but Chitoge is destroying everyone right now.

I can finally reply to shouts/reviews now. As my first reply on trakt 2.0, I'm here to say that you have shit taste. Hestia is the Bestia.
I'm inclined to only give it a "meh". Feels like a movie I would have liked if I was a little kid. There were a bunch of characters that hardly had any lines and if they spoke they described their archetype, seriously? Marvel has a tendency to shoehorn in horrible dialogue for their "universe" but that was just especially low. And whatever the romance in this is supposed to be: not buying it^2.
The production values of the movie are high so it works as a popcorn movie but all the raving comments the movie had in advance had me hoping for a good movie.
(Baby Groot is one of the worst things I ever saw on screen btw.)loading replies
Mamoru Hosoda strikes again. In my opinion, this is his best overall work surpassing The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Summer Wars. As Miyazaki and Ghibli seem to be slowing down a bit, Mamoru Hosoda is ready to take the torch. The concept of wolf children growing up in our world is something that I've never seen, but the themes of acceptance, finding your own path in live, and, of course, a mother's love are what truly hold and elevate this movie. The duality in the development of Yuki and Ame and where they want to end up in this world are the highlights of the film. I can't wait for the dub to be released. Go watch this ASAP.

After letting this digest for longer, I think that I prefer The Girl Who Leapt Through Time over this mostly because I like romance a bit more. These are still two amazing works that must be watched by not just fans of anime but fans of all kinds of movies.

VIP11Cross Game is absolutely one of the best anime shows (not just sports anime) that I've seen. Period. It is another masterpiece written by Mitsuru Adachi (of Touch and H2 fame). From the first episode (which is absolutely heartbreaking and a must-watch), the show just captures the viewer's attention and never lets go. The best part of Cross Game is that it is about more than just baseball. So much more. It is a story about dealing with the death of a loved one (it has a very similar feeling to AnoHana), friendship, and how two people grow and nurture each other through hardships and successes. The story may be a little bit predictable at times, but Cross Game is more about the total journey. Don't be intimidated by the length. Time flies and there really are no filler episodes (except for one recap episode) and by the end, I was wishing that the show would never end. The characters are truly what make this show exceptional and Aoba is one of my favorite female protagonists of all time. She is way more than just a tsundere and has so much depth to her character. Do yourself a favor and watch this masterpiece. It'll have you on the edge of seat the whole time.

Honestly, it's more like an amazing SOL/romance anime that has an emphasis on sports in it. Still, the baseball action in it is very well done and got me addicted to Adachi's other works (I watched all 101 episodes of Touch right after this). I would 100% recommend that you try it. Just watch the first episode (literally one of the best openings to an anime that I've ever seen) and I guarantee you'll get the feels. There's a reason this is so highly rated on MAL.
The storytelling and plot development is way off. It's the 6th episode and things are starting to get resolved.

@jasmohan The pacing has been horrific because the studio has been speeding through the source material and skipping so much shit in order to get to the huge plot twists that will be at the end of the season now. I really wish they slowed it down and let the anime breath and develop naturally so all these new character interactions would make sense...

@bkoto Lol. It's a joke calling all anime "Chinese cartoons". However, I do actually read a lot of Chinese web novels especially cultivation series. They've got some good series out there that are some of my favorites.
@sealy_boy And they named her "Jack". Pretty obvious true.
This was the worst anime of Fall 2021.
Story was just a rip-off of Arifureta (https://trakt.tv/shows/arifureta-from-commonplace-to-world-s-strongest), characters were over-exaggerated & no side-character development whatsoever, animations seems a bit dull at few points and above all leading female character is a :point_right_tone1: GORILLA :point_left_tone1:.
I won't recommend this to anyone.loading replies
@supriyo8799 I don't know. There's just something about Kana Hanazawa playing a giant gorilla that soothes the soul...
This is THE anime that we've all been waiting and yearning for. Many of us hardcore Mushoku Tensei fans have been waiting years upon years for an anime adaptation to finally hit, and HIT it has. I was a little skeptical with a brand new studio undertaking this, but all the previews had looked great so I was cautiously optimistic. The source material is my absolute favorite isekai series (which says a lot) and the light/web novel will always hold a special place in my fandom. So how were the first two episodes so far (first has aired officially and the first two were previewed beforehand)?
AMAZING. I really don't know if it's just because the source material is that good, but this has been a SPOT ON adaptation so far. Right when I heard "Gintoki" as the NEET narrator, I knew shit was gonna be good. The sense of humor and pervertedness of Rudy is really well incorporated throughout the first two episodes, and makes this more than just a "another OP isekai". But even with that sense of humor, the anime has taken great depths to give solid (but not overwhelming) background info on the characters and highlighting particularly serious moments. This was especially evident in the second episode where the handling of Rudy's "fall into NEETness" and past trauma was interweaved perfectly into his current situation and setting.
I can't wait for the rest of the anime to air. It seems that a second cour has already been green-lighted so let's hope this can turn into one of those long-running anime series. If they can make it to the school arcs, I'll have lived a complete life...

@maniacb Yeah I understand. As I said in my initial post, this is BY FAR my favorite isekai series out there (anime, light/web novel, manga). It is probably my favorite light novel series as well (or right at the top). The source material is just absolutely amazing and it's been around for a while. It's just taken a while to get an anime adaptation, so I would definitely not consider it like a regular "isekai". Also, the anime adaptation seems fantastic so far (especially for a new studio), so I'm pretty optimistic given my love of the original material.
well guess who's gonna blast 'born to be brave' on repeat?

I'm pretty worried for the rest of the series now. Animation quality was pretty crap, and I really don't like the new character designs.
Passione as an animation studio seem pretty poor in their output so far.

@mr-sackamano If they were in this movie, I would have been FULLY TORQUED!!
I did not expect to like this one as much as I did! While I would say that the bucket for vampire movies is getting too crowded, I will certainly not fault an entertaining one for this!
The characters are rather quirky and it's shot mockumentary style (like The Office) which might be off-putting for some but you have at least give them credit for going through a variety of jokes here! Oh, and let's not forget Stu! Everyone loves Stu!loading replies
@sp1ti FOR STU! Stu! Stu! Stu!
Wasn't too sure on this series at first but I think this was the episode that got me fully on board. The series as a whole is by no means amazing but the characters have been endearing and fun enough by this point to convince me to continue with this.
Obviously being a KyoAni show it still has great direction and animation quality. Not as flashy as some of their other shows but still nice to look at.

@maniacb So many amazing loli-demon/mythical creatures/angel anime this season. I don't know what is going on but I completely approve of this new trend.
Possibly Shinkai's best work so far, and as a massive fan of both 5cm and Garden of Words I do not say that lightly. The animation is breathtaking as always but some scenes go beyond mere visual splendor and are just mesmerizing. The characters are so fun to be around and you'll find yourself rooting for them and hoping it all works out. I was slightly concerned when I saw the "boob fondling" scene in the trailer but even that becomes a genuinely charming gag throughout the movie, believe it or not!
As to be expected of Shinkai, the film also takes you on a roller coaster of emotional highs and lows and keeps you guessing how it will end until pretty much the last minute.
I cannot recommend this enough.

@maniacb Were you able to watch this in theaters? I can't believe that I have to wait until April 7 for it to come out in the US... murica?!?!?! D:
Well, after watching the first episode of Riverdale, I don't quite know what to think of it all yet. Riverdale seems to be more heavily influenced by the CW's style turning this into more of a darker mystery driven show than I had been anticipating. We'll see how everything shakes out as the first episode already had its hands full just introducing the myriad of characters here. Honestly, I think that they might have overdone it trying to jam too many characters into the opening episode. I really liked what was done in the recent Archie comic reboot but perhaps this mystery-story based approach is better suited for TV vs the lighter affair of the comics.
All that I know is that we need... more Jughead!!

Holy crap. Awesome first episode. This is definitely going to draw comparisons to Attack on Titan. Same studio, art style and "humanity is screwed" themes. But zombies and steampunk!
We even have Sawano Hiroyuki doing the soundtrack again.
The first episode really hit the ground running with the action and introduction to this world and the characters. Definitely can't wait to see more.

I have no hesitation in saying this has been the worst KyoAni show I have seen. People were harsh on Tamako Market but that was Citizen Kane compared to this. Thank god it's over now and we can look forward to the likes of Hibike S2 etc.

Damn. While the teacher was super obvious as the killer, I was hoping that the creators were throwing us off on purpose with a blatant red herring. Other than that flaw, this was a fantastic episode with a "mini-showdown" between Satoru and sensei. With only two more episodes to go, it's f'n game time.
loading replies
As I said, everything else about the show has been superb including the buildup to this moment. However, the teacher being the killer was a bit too obvious for even my tastes which is the only weakness that I'm getting from the show. I gotta find something to critique, right?
