Didn't like this at all. Felt bored through most of it. Nothing scary apart from the odd jump moment. Plot was so predictable and dull.
On second watch this is a bit meh, not scary enough, although a few good jump moments.
I enjoyed it a lot on more my first watch (http://www.susanhatedliterature.net/2017/09/it-based-on-the-book/ ) but it really doesn't reward a second viewing.
I'll still be off to watch the second chapter though.
One of my favourite films of all time, just fun with vampires.
The fact that I've recently been watching Fry & Laurie means I find it hard to take "Control" seriously. Nevertheless I enjoyed this season.
This film is very much a product of its time. It has important things to say, but sometimes it just comes out and says them instead of making them part of the story. A bit too on the nose at times.
It is an interesting film, but it never quite works. I mean are we supposed to empathise with Cruise's character? Cause he is a bad dude, no questions. He may not be shooting people but he taking money from murderers and facilitating the expansion of their business. I don't think that aspect was ever really explored, the consequences of the business he was in.
Ah look, it is very entertaining and as full of action and madness as you'd expect. I could have done with a little more character every now and then, but it did the job.
Underwhelming.
cast were all good but film itself was the embodiment of meh
Dialogue is bit too philosophical and ott at times, and it lost me at some point in the middle, but there are some really great moments in it.
You know I'm getting pretty fed up with the Kirk is "teh uber" and wins at everything and is always right.
Oh Rocky IV, the worst of the Rocky films in some ways. But also the most Rocky in others. Also, the film that is pretty much all montage. I mean, how many montages can one film take? Rocky IV certainly pushes the envelope there.
It is a bad film. I don’t think I could argue otherwise.
But, then again, Rocky. So I gotta love it, at least a little.
On rewatch I think I feel pretty much the same about this film as I did originally, it isn't going to win many awards but it damn entertaining. With much violence.
Also, I'd like somebody to make a film from the point of view of the picts/celts/germanics/whomevers that the Romans invaded without any rooting for the imperialistic colonial empire.
Kept me entertained, but certainly wouldn't be one I'd be rushing to rewatch.
So I've heard that this film got butchered by the studio and boy does it ever show. this film makes no sense. Unless all you want to look at is atmospheric fog, brights lights, dark shadows and goth/bdsm aesthetic. I mean, it is a look I guess... but it isn't really an actual film.
This is where the true insanity begins. I mean I know the others weren't realistic, but the ascent to surreal genius is almost upon us.
I'm not sure I buy the romance at all in this film, and isn't he like old enough to be her father... but it's a nice watch.
This is a terrible terrible film. So boring.
I guess making a monster film this dull is an achievement of sorts...
Watching this is just hearbreaking
Car go fast. Nnnnwwwwwoooommmmm. And girls wear short short dresses. http://www.susanhatedliterature.net/2006/07/the-fast-and-the-furious-tokyo-drift/
Goddam it people, why do we have to be so stupid and power hungry?
Really good introduction to the Vietnam War, lot of history that I knew nothing about.
I have been watching TFATF films for 18 years. I cannot be objective about them, they are awesome. Also nonsensical.
Ah this is just a classic. Remember watching it so many times on video, not because it was great, but because it was one of the few videos we actually owned!
I remember first watching this, thought it was hilarious. Now I feel it is mildly entertaining.
So I expected this film to be pretty awful and only really watched it because of Coster-Waldau. And while I can't say that it is a great film, or even a very good one, I did find it an interesting take on the prison film. Also, it has Jon Bernthal, so that's a point for it in and of itself.
It is full of violence, fairly raw violence at that, but it is worth watching to see how the prison environment can make a criminal.
I don't know, I feel I'm bouncing off Discovery a little, hopefully it is just the first episode of a new season and I'll get into it more as it goes along.
I like the idea of the Sand sisters, but think they're depicted in a quite cartoonish way.
Who knows what this is all about. I mean, I know the plot (such as it is) but really? what is this even!
Gods damn that High Sparrow! can't stand him
Gwan Brienne! great fight scene
It aint over til its over!
