What Nancy did for Dustin was really sweet. Why can’t she be like this the whole time? She’s much more interesting when she’s not chasing after a boy.
WTF was that last scene!! Will's face gonna hunt me for 2 months ahead LOL
Anyway, this episode was amazing, we finally got to see El's semi origin, her name is Jane and she was taken when she was born and acted like she was born dead so no one will ask about her and the fact the she was kidnapped.. And also we got to know the meaning of her mother's loop talking
Another thing that bothered me is Lucas you stupid motherf***.. Why the F would you tell that ginger all the secrets, I still don't get why he and Dustin are so attracted to her, she's annoying so does her brother
Speaking about Dustin he finally acknowledged that his tiny discovery is dangerous and he locked him out and now he has to tell the rest of the boys about the Demogorgon Junior
Anyway a lot happened in this episode I can't mention everything but I'm worried about Will since he's connected to the shadow monster and when the men from the lap tried to burn it, Will got hurt, so now they have to find a way to get that thing out of poor Will
Many "nonsense" moments in this episode.
More dumb then Nancy going into the tree!??? Who in their right mind would go in there....that scene was so ridiculous that it makes me rate entire episode with a 2/10
I can no longer stand the "stereotypical nerd who gets beat up in school" cliche, is annoying, really annoying to me. Someone beats you up and you stand there like a retarded? For f***** sake, grow some balls. This kind o writing was pretty popular for a long time, but this doesn't mean that this type of right should be rewarded.
Dead Man's Chest is a great second installment in Disney's Pirates saga. I never understood all the not so favorable reviews.
Really loving this series, however feel really bad for Bill. He came across as such a nice guy, pity to see him get torn into like that. :(
I went to see this with my mom and sister just before Christmas and I assumed that "Musical" meant that there would be some singing and some normal talking. Turns out it's entirely singing which took me off guard and about 30 minutes in I was beginning to regret my decision to see this movie. However, as it goes on the songs get much better, the story gets more interesting, and it really connected with me emotionally. Jackman is a solid lead actor, Crowe is simultaneously the worst singer and best actor in the movie, Hathaway's role is smaller than I thought it would be but still powerful, the entire young cast was amazing, and Bonham Carter and Baron Cohen teamed up perfectly for some much needed comic relief.
Some people like to whine about how the professional actors have "bad" voices. The reason for that is because their job is to act and the singing is just a secondary feature. Also I prefer that they aren't professional singers. Professional singers all have the same boring voice and it wouldn't really get as emotional if the actor's voices were pitch perfect as it does with these real voices.
Overall, there isn't much that it does wrong and as long as you like long movies and are able to get used to the singing, you will enjoy it.
Seriously overrated. Casting could have done a much better job finding actors/actresses that can actually sing. Based on my college roommate's obsession with the novel/musical, I can honestly say I was disappointed. I basically used it as background noise, as the plot was difficult to get into and the vocals weren't that great (although Anne Hathaway has a decent set of lungs).
Seriously dull. Really did not enjoy this!!!
Pretty impressive movie about a bunch of historical events I didn't even know about. The concept of navel battles baffles me to this day and the era in which all this occurs is rife with interesting stories and events.
The cast is stellar, the only thing that's weird to me is how clean they all speak (but I'm Belgian so that might be the reason). I agree this movie could have been better as a long series but the movie does feel extremely long despite its runtime of 2h. A series would also have the pitfalls of filler episodes.
This movie definately gets a recommendation although I'm not sure how the foreign public would enjoy the very Dutch nature of it. Try it, and you'll see.
It's boring, that's the problem. The Zone of Interest is completely uninteresting.
Scenery, wardrobe and all of that is very well done, which infuriates me because they could have done such an interesting film if they'd had shown the funcioning of Auschwitz. In that camp there were stories worth telling. Anyways, I regret having spent money in the cinema for this one.
Quite a frustrating watch. It has this great concept of showing mundane, everyday life juxtaposed with horrifying imagery and sound hanging in the background, many reviewers have referred to it as the banality of evil. It's an inventive way of doing a Holocaust movie, but there's not much else to this. Glazer spreads the concept really thin over the 105 minute runtime, and I started to check out around the halfway mark. It's lacking in structure (no character arcs or big plot developments), every time it threatens to go somewhere it turns out to be an excuse to use the same bag of tricks. The acting and stilted cinematography are both pretty decent, but because they're both meant to serve the understated tone and nothing else, it can't fall back on those aspects. Again, if the tone is enough to carry this experimental film for you, your experience might be different. However, I became increasingly numb towards the repetitive nature, eventually feeling rather indifferent towards the experience (which is the last thing I want with a movie like this).
4.5/10
My thoughts while watching episode 1:
- this is visually charming;
- how much did they spend for the cast?;
- mh, actually, visually, I like it less than I thought;
- oh, so it's a super super loyal adaptation of the comicbook? No, wait, someone told me there's a twist;
- jeez, keeping the dialogues exactly as they were in the comicbook is not a great idea. They are meant to be read, they feel really stiff in a visual medium;
- this is incredibly boring;
- oh, so that's the twist. I kike it. OK, you have my curiosity.
My thoughts while watching episode 2:
- this is incredibly boring;
- what? We are still at minute 15? Fuck it, I'm giving up, there's no point, I'm literally falling asleep.
Now, this clearly is a superficial judgment and I'm sure that if I insisted and watched the rest of it I wouldn't hate it but I'm at a point in my life where if I'm watching a TV show, I'm incredibly bored and I think the best case scenario is "I didn't hate it", well, I can invest my time in something else.
The English audio is AWFUL!!! The actors, especially the one playing Ramona, sound like they are reading the script for the first time out loud in their toilets and are bored as hell. The Japanese dub is night and day, it made me stop hating this and actually enjoy the show. The original audio should be marked as Japanese, since this was made in Japan, the Japanese voice actors are actually acting and the animation in synced to the Japanese audio rather than English.
People should give the japanese audio at least a try. They won´t regret it.
There are many great things about this movie, most notably the way in which it was shot and the acting in it. However, the story is just so absolutely fucking bonkers to the point that I am so very confused as to how to feel about it.
Tatort has been around for as long as I live and I have seen many over the years. Some multiple times. Individual episodes can be really good. Overall, subject to ones personal taste, they rate from completely awful to absolutely great. All of the episodes are closed stories. Within the individual teams there is sometimes kind of a thread and some form of character developement. The more modern episodes try to do experiments with the format that often backfires.

The original audio should be marked as Japanese, since this was made in Japan, the Japanese voice actors are actually acting and the animation in synced to the Japanese audio rather than English.

The audio is poor. There's no ambience sound so there's a lot of awkward silences.
This is the first episode where I can tell that the character animations weren't created with the more underplayed English voice acting in mind. The contrast of the dramatic lip flaps with the deadpan delivery is a bit odd, but the animation is dope and I like the direction this is going so far.
Lot's of action, drama, and mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
I personally enjoyed the animation and OSTs used.
Some scenes will surely remain in my memory for a long time.
But most importantly...
"I've always been...the same as you! I'm human!"
A great story telling us that there is no pure black and white in this world.
Only the shades of gray you know and those that you don't.
"Like I thought, I'm the same as you.
I think we were born this way.
I keep moving forward
Until I destroy my enemies."
The first 6 episodes really make you beg fore more, but in the end it was a let down. The last 6 episodes were not about the main story anymore, it looked like they needed to rush the story and made this horrible finale. Even so, I recommend it, the music, the art, the fight scenes and the first 6 episodes are very good.
It's the manga ending fleshed out a bit, plus two-ish additional scene right at the end and some adjustments. I doesn't change the ending (aside from Armin's admission), it just highlights it more. People will be discussing this again, just like after the manga ended. Let's see where this is going.
I, for once, found the last two episodes powerful. It's as far as I'm concerned a logical conclusion. Or at least I have no idea where the story could have realistically gone otherwise. Would I have liked it to end another way? Yes, definitely! But in the end I respect a conclusive ending more than a magically appearing good feeling ending.
The end of an era.
I only have one complaint, and it is the way in which they have given us the episodes of the last season, with so much time between them and separating the final season in too many parts... I think they have screwed us the experience of enjoying the correct way.
Regarding the series, I can only thank the creators for this great show and all the good moments they have given us.
The greatest anime series of a generation finally reaches its grand conclusion. 10 years of drama and controversies, especially among the fandom over the manga ending, it's truly been a ride.
This was solid, although there are still loose ends and lots of questions that remain unanswered. And all that other stuff: multiple delays, changing of animation studios before the final season even began, the "questionable" plot twist into the final season, and much more other controversial things that I best rather leave out for internet enthusiasts and adventurers to find out.
Now, for the ending. It was satisfying.Let me explain: Was it the perfect ending? No. Could it have been better? Yes. But then again, it could have gotten any worse than what it was already, from the source material. As another reviewer pointed out, it's more of a compromised ending, between the fans' expectations and the infamous manga ending.
This, honestly in my opinion, is a good example of "a show doesn't need always need a happy ending, just a perfect one"
9/10
“Spectacle, testicles, wallet and watch”
The introduction of fat bastard and mini me is great. The whole dick rocket joke is fantastic. I love all these movies. They are so stupid and so funny.
The last season remains now. Till now the show is very circular. There are problems and same people slowly end up resolving it, either by luck or something similar.
I wanted the series to dig a bit deeper into the technology world, but it remains at the border of business and tech. The first season talked about setting up the compression technology. Which was fantastic. The idea of a new internet is really groundbreaking. Mastodon and others are trying that, but this particular idea of using devices to distribute the internet is really mind-blowing.
The issues they get are very in context. At the end of S5, they had an issue of 51% people controlling their internet. That is really thought about, which I liked.
Richard's character needs to evolve though. He is a bit egoistic, but a very skilled developer. He has been so since season 1, but his journey to CEO really didn't change his character a lot. That would have been interesting to see.
