Coming from the vast universe of Star Trek, I found this to be a surprisingly strong first season. While all Trek shows of the '80s and '90s had a well deserved reputation for weak beginnings, I'd bet that basing this series on the established characters of a film helped Stargate SG-1 get a running start. There were still some growing pains and awkward characterizations, but nowhere near as many as I'm used to from the other "Star" television franchise.
Things that did bug me a lot during this season:
To counter some of my own nitpicking, some things that I loved during this season:
So far I am not liking this season.
If it's final season or not "welcome back!"
Was this the worst season out of all six? Yes. Did I still watch it? Also yes but I also just wanted to finally finish this. I think they kept it going for way too long. I liked the concept and stuff but the acting and the special effects was just not it. I can't say that I won't miss it I was really happy watching it but I'm glad that it ended.

Dr. Jackson leaving left a hole in the show that Jonas Quinn can't quite fill. Plus I'm just not really on board with the "ascension" thing and how often Daniel "comes back" but can't actually do anything because he's "not allowed".

Stargate SG-1 continues to balance drama, exploration, and humor in a delightfully entertaining mixture.
Teal'c remains the funniest character.
Hammond is still the SGC's impeccably principled father figure.
Entertaining but...
1) If you're gonna do music in this particular manner somebody who knows how to do that right. If you don't have the budget for it, leave it out. Because if you do it wrong it will take me out of the picture.
2) New York is a "sanctuary" city. ICE isn't gonna roll up on somebody's house. Especially on a lawyer living in Brooklyn Heights. For that matter an FBI agent sitting in one of their cars will stick out like a sore thumb in that neighborhood.
Also, a federal agent isn't gonna casually back and forth between the Eastern District of NY (Brooklyn) and the Southern District of NY (Manhattan) and--OK, I'm getting pedantic but then set the story iin a place like Metropolis so that I know I should set my Fantasy Meter on 8.
