Great renditions of all of the characters and scenes. Gilbert Gottfried gets another appearance
I think I would still prefer to watch the original episode though.
Jesus that bike saleslady is horrifying. Clarence gets an INTERVENTION?? Why is the horn a substance and a love interest.
Finger running on the telephone wires is a core memory that this show solidifies. W Clarence. Also the centerfold innuendo like WOAH.
"Mr. Cuddles was Penny's pet. And Penny's pretty hot. Which means he was probably pretty hot too." - Gumball
A classic season 1 episode. One of the few first person moments too.
"According to the fifth amendment I don't have to answer that without my lawyer present." - Richard
This is a classic season 1 with some cold real life analogies.
Ghostbusters reference and a huge sex joke that again I am very surprised passed censorship. Mr. Robinson's second major role was good and Richard's B plot carried.
Why does Mr. Brown sound so chill in this one
THINK BIG. THINK SMART.
The official lore drop of smart Anias and a Cyprus Hill reference.
It's good but a little too simple and short plotted.
"I GUESS NICE GUYS DO FINISH LAST." - JEFF
HOW DID THIS PASS THE CENSORSHIP
Another good play on real life applications of a first girlfriend, especially at their age groups with a good message that relationships shouldn't be forced and/or at that age.
Sumo: "Sorry your date didn't work out, that stuff almost never works for my brothers."
Clarence: "Fellas fellas fellas, we don't need girlfriends right now. We should just be more like these frogs. Look at that one right there, He's just floating down the river of life, not a care in the whole world. That's living."
Sumo: "I think that frog's dead."
Clarence: "Oh. I'll give you a dollar if you eat it."
Sumo: "Done"
PEAK CLARENCE
Honestly hilarious. A huge play on the illegal money trope with a quick story arc for the operation. The writing shines here with plenty of real life analogies.
THIS IS MFDOOM
Mr. Small is literal gold in this episode. I swear the silence snake was as scary as they think it is.
The Lassie reference was honestly funny when I was younger
Richard reminds me of the time Miss Simian thought Gumball forged his signature because of how immature it was, and also in the responsible when he refuses to put on pants.
The mortal Kombat parody game Kebab Fighter gets one of it's earliest showings.
The Hip Flip clip is amazing and definitely one of the coolest scenes in the show.
Another episode I remember watching first as a kid.
"Do you kiss your mother with that mouth." - Darwin
Gumball: "I gathered the stupidest people in town."
Rocky: "Word"
The origin of butt-puppets which is cool to see this early.
"There are no words to express the pain that I feel right now." - Darwin
This was one of the first episodes I remember seeing. Uses the same repeat ending as last episode. Just simple season 1 vibes all the way. Darwin is especially cheery.
"I'm a banana." - Banana Joe
Another beautiful use of the elegant British background song.
Gumball defends an entire nuke with a trashcan
A classic doppelganger and repeat ending tropes. A used formula adapted to Elmore and gives Bobbert some more lore, following the theme of giving background characters their own epsiode.
One of the funniest Perry the Platypus interactions but sadly another awful song. Candace going to Phineas and Ferb's "bar" was hilarious though.
BMO and Sassy the Sasquatch references :D This show is so full of life and uniqueness that I can't imagine it not going places. creative as hell, unlimited episode protentional and a great style this is amazing.
Honestly forgot that the video store was named Ripley 2000.
"Cheese is not too bad involved in vain in this house." - Richard
Bad to the Bone riff???
Very much a persistent goal season one episode.
AIN'T NO WAY GUMBALL CALLS A GIRL FLAT HOW DID THIS AIR. Rachael's only main role and episode in the whole show, with a very sparse number of small appearances later.
"You're not really my type because I usually like attractive girls but hey beggars can't be choosers. You are a girl right?" - Gumball :skull:
We hear Darwin's hilarious long name and this episode is just so funny and unique with awesome effects and plenty of more adult references.
A little predictable and not the most memorable episode but still good nonetheless. The first appearance of Granny "JoJo" Joanna with quite a different design than season two onward. Darwin really encapsulates his season one persona. Anias' B plot was also predictable but still funny.
The Abe Jurassic Park parody. MAKING A JOKE ABOUT CANCELLING THE SHOW AGAIN IS CRAZY . A good finale but an annoying cliffhanger. Other than that it's good.
This was really good. Funny and lots of twists (pun intended). Can't wait for the finale and how it compares to last seasons.
Gandhi NOO. And the makeover song reference was cool. Also Harriet getting raided lmfao. Confucius' plot was more interesting than the A plot imo.
Surprised I didn't see the Bloody Mary thing coming. But Joan wilding at the end there. Scudworth and Mr. B's plot felt sorry bland and barely there again sadly.
Mr. B was the highlight of this one. Other than that it was okay. A little slow.
Wasn't a big fan of Scudworth's B plot.
Candide finally showing interest took long enough. Confucius did the right thing and Joan got back in so this was advancing all the right arcs.
Kinda average but JFK/abe and Harriet had good plot.
Progression for Joan and a good plot while focusing a little less on comedy turned out surprisingly well. Love the idea of competitive snorkeling lol.
Peptide rap go crazy. Great and funny start to the season. Eyeball pegging was not something I thought I would see but okay then.
