It's feeling like the Fringe x Person of Interest crossover I didn't know I needed.
Great character and world building this ep. Slowly and subtly like good writing should be. Clocked the date of the FBI attack in the background of Poet's visit to the site in present day. They didn't hit use over the head with this but the ending scene cemented it.
Not doubt this event was a catalyst for the need of this AI project which is in rampant control of the future.
They made the two "guards" in the beginning of this episode dumb as hell. Firstly, when they stopped, the gunmen got out, why not drive off? Secondly, why the hell would they get out of a bullet proof vehicle and go out into the open, vulnerable? Stupid.
Spoilers for Person of Interest:
This is the world if Samaritan won
First of all. I didn't realise this was a limited series. Second, this all just seemed to fizzle a bit at the end. Like I get the book end of it with them going back to a people driven FBI but it just seemed a bit rushed and easy. Also all that chemistry with Poet and Hour.. Wasted! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Getting some real "Return of the Jedi" vibes from when the Rogue Agents stormed the storage center for the A.I. Up to and including when they came out.
All that was missing was Ewoks.
I remember loving this when I watched it for the first time. As you can expect it's cringey and was a very try-hard movie but I enjoyed it and still think it's funny to watch for the nostalgia
Step down from big budget superhero fare that is aimed squarely at the tween set. Not bad, but not incredible, either.
Great episode: brilliant plot, a great villain, funny but deep. In two words Doctor Who!
12min in and we're discussing art and crisis of the language. i love this show
JINKX MONSOON you know just brilliant choices everywhere
Outro song is 'Who are you', episode is titled 'Who we are'.............
Genuinely funny moments balanced by spot-on drama and, unfortunately, jokes that fall flat. Maybe I'm just not British enough to enjoy the potty humor?
An amazing episode, with stories and threads that will likely make much more sense later on. Suspense, mystery, and emotion, all masterfully woven together.
Me: "There's no way they can even come close to being as good as the last episode."
Also me: "OH MY GOD IT WAS EVEN BETTER"
This was another great episode & great to see Colter's extension to the family as played by Jenson Ackles. I'm pretty sure I may have seen a nod to Supernatural around the beginning of the episode with a certain motor vehicle?
Look forward to seeing more episodes with Justin & Jenson in future episodes
Really interesting episode, not the "kids these days are on their phones all the time" kind one might have thought watching the trailer, but instead focuses on a much more serious issue surrounding the mentality of certain groups, and how those specific echo chambers function.
It's definitely an episode that is made by its ending. The hyperbole of the allegory might seem too exaggerated at first. But when things start falling into place it becomes clear that it serves a purpose and helps highlight the main message.
The final part is what makes the whole episode really work, for me the ending was quite fitting, given the point that the story was trying to get across, and Ncuti Gatwa was phenomenal in his performance, especially during the final scene.
Smart, funny, thrilling.
And, boy, did it ever take some dark turns in the final minutes. Wonderfully executed ones, at that.
The Doctor and Ruby were relegated to minor supporting roles, but Callie Cooke was a great lead.
10/10
I loved the little detail where Lindy couldn't walk without the arrow from the bubble, which made me chuckle. Also when she ran into a pole, she deserved that.
Of anyone there, Ricky September deserved to live. He was educated, liked to read and actually knew how to walk.
I also really liked the subtle racism that I (white) chalked up to Lindy, not wanting to listen to outsiders until the end where she denys the doctors help. But rewatching the episode, Lindy immediately blocking the doctor, listening to Ruby at first, saying he's smarter than he looks, and then when she realizes she blocked the doctor earlier and says she thought he just looked similar. But God the ending, just how blatantly racist they were, how he would contaminate them, how person to person contact is too much, how they must uphold the standards of finetime forever. Just ew
Rogue kinda :smirk::nail_care:
We love a Captain Jack type flirty man.
Very excited to see where Jonathan Groff comes in again in the future!
"fucking brian" honestly bless this show going streaming service over primetime
MY TURTLES! :D Carson is a sweetheart.
My favourite kind of episode, a small number of characters stuck needing to figure out how to survive with limited options. This has great character work and the combination of Carter, Keller and McKay allows for the interactions and dialogue to work extremely well. This balances suspense and comedy brilliantly.
It's long past due that the time an SG team takes before their first scheduled check-in is reduced dramatically, wouldn't you think?!
I think this episode is one of my top favourite Atlantis episodes. One of the things I like the most about the episode is that we found out how well Keller understands Rodney. Of all Rodneys friends and family, Keller is the one who understands him the most.
Really don't enjoy these kind of TV show episodes that are just a slideshow of the past 6 seasons...
And they canceled it right there. Man, wish we knew what would have happened next. These last few episodes of S2 were 100% the best of the series.
Great episode!!! extra star because Pete Davidson wasn’t in it
Meryl Streep trying to grab yet another Golden Globe from her very first scene
I unironically want to see that musical now, that song was so beautiful.
Todd's reaction to finally noticing Harry at the dinner table is probably the most hilarious moment of this entire show. Also, can't blame his reaction to that piece of trash.
