UGHHHHH I LOVEEE THIS FILM SO FRESH SO PERFECT TO WATCH LOVEIT
As a completist, I'm forced to type up something about "The Avengers". Here goes. It's big, it's fun, it's bright, it's exciting, it's funny. There. All done. Hmmm...that doesn't seem complete really.
The most compelling characters are the Hulk and Iron Man. The Hulk is great here. But, and this is going to earn me zero comic book geek points, I find Ang Lee's Hulk monster more appealing. In that movie, you can knock him on his ass and shoot him up. He takes a second or two to shake it off and then he comes back for more. The "Hulk smash" scenes in that movie are intense and real. In "The Avengers", he's just another indestructible super-thing. Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner character is much preferable to Eric Bana's, though.
Robert Downey Jr. is once again perfect as Tony Stark. He wisecracks and outsmarts plenty here and is the one who holds the whole thing together.
Captain America seems a bit under powered being that Thor is effectively a god. They try to add a superpower for Cap with the shield, but he's relegated to fighting with the other second-tier Avengers crew. Speaking of Thor, he misses out on a lot here. Like Superman, he's just too powerful.
For as many characters as there are, everyone has their moments. The story does feel a bit under told, but the movie is so viscerally exciting and bombastic that the lack of clever or emotionally impacting moments can be forgiven. This is an ideal summer blockbuster.
First time I didn't like it too much. given weak sauce but after watching this movie again I think I'm starting to love this movie. So changed it to totally ninja !
I don't get it, why are people being so damn critical about the movie ? Ya gotta understand that it was just a catalyst so that the MCU franchise could grow on it; the movie was purely made to introduce Captain America, the cosmic cube and Agent Carter, nothing more nothing less, and it did a good job at that.
If Zuckerberg didn't have money he'd be an Incel and probably on a "watchlist".
Andrew Garfield: hot
Mark Zuckerberg: asshole
didnt think i could hate zuckerberg more than i already did but here we are
Absolutely NOTHING happens. There's about 6 characters in total, none of which have any background story, no character development or anything. I didn't feel a single second of interest or emotion in this. I feel like the storyline was bland as hell, as was the acting, the script was obviously written by someone with 0 imagination and who has never watched a film. I'm not being over-dramatic, I watch a LOT of movies and this was the blandest I have seen. The only thing I enjoyed was Leo's screen-time and his growing relationship with his aunt (that should have gone somewhere but didn't-much like the whole of the film)
That's two hours of my life I won't be getting back.
I watched this for Leonardo DiCaprio and well, with that "small role" I really should've just looked it up on YouTube lol. That's not a small role, it is a cameo if anything smh.
As for the actual movie, I guess it is alright at most, not something I am forever grateful I spend my money on, though.
What an unexpected plot-line that develops and does not develop in unusual ways. Top notch character performance.
Good narcissistic character, with all the traits. Worse, a psycho. Bateman is on the edge of a caricature at times, but that just adds fun and dark humour. Some of the antics are stupid. It's pretty much a one man show movie. I didnt find it that scary.
The best scene of this movie is when they rate their business cards.
I honestly do not know what all the hype was with this movie...it was rather lame.
If you’re not into it after the first 10 minutes, just turn it off, because you’re not going to like it.
It’s a true musical in every sense of the world: everything is extremely (melo)dramatic, and it’s filled with as much overacting and oversinging as you’d expect.
If that’s your thing, this is for you, I really commend Lin Manuel Miranda and Andrew Garfield for going all the way.
But to me it just screams as tacky and inauthentic, there’s a fairytale quality about it that makes me feel icky.
The way it tries to force emotion onto you by spelling out the feelings of every character isn’t very artful, in my opinion.
I was kinda surprised to see Black Thought show up, which is probably the highlight of the film for me, being a fan of The Roots.
All I can say Amazing!!! I got goosebumps watching this. This is a life changing experience. I just turned 18 and I had the same experience I got panic, overthinking and don't know what to do. Growing up is really f*cking scary specially if you haven't made anything in your life anytime you can die. R.I.P Jonathan Larson you made me realize that life is short we need to do something and also to enjoy our life. Fan fact Lin-Manuel Miranda when he saw this musical when he was young it changed his life and this is such an honor for him to make this into Movie.
I don't enjoy watching musicals that often, especially the ones that are made to be watched on your small(est) screen, but this one kept me intrigued. Loved the acting! It was superb! I loved the dialogues, the lyrics, and oh the music is spot on! I know that sounds weird, but it reminded me of Fleabag? like the premise of it? I don't know. Anyway, I loved this movie and will definitely watch it again!
wow.
Andrew Garfield is such a delight to watch! the passing, the direction, the story were amazing. I was captivated by everything, I wasn't familiar with Jonathan Larson's work before but gosh I love this man
Cliche'd to no end... But still watchable, one of Sandler's last good movies IMO.
Excellent film of a fantastical real life.
Picking holes, there is a little bit of a pacing issue in parts that could have shaved 10 minutes off and made the latter half run smoother.
Very good indeed. And do yourself a favour and watch the real Frank Abagnale fo his Google Talk on YouTube. Quite fantastic.
8/10
Didn't know that Amy Adams is such a cutie-cutie girl in her early years.
Man, how many women did Dicaprio kissed in his acting years? A lot of them are in their youth and some of them became great actresses and are somewhat renowned today like Amy Adams for example. Loved the soundtrack that they used every time the FBI is in the place where Frank was.
I would see this movie again.
Lovely and simple
This is just a fun movie. The pacing is great, it's a long movie but never feels slow or too long. Great performances by DiCaprio and Hanks. One of the better Spielberg films this century.
Some movies just never age and this is one of them. No matter how many times I see this movie, it never fails to make me laugh and keep me interested. Great film from start to finish, beautifully played by both Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio.
If you’ve somehow managed to go this long without seeing it, you need to sort your shit out and watch it right now!
Great story & great actors!
The Breakfast Club was great, probably one of the best teen movies I've ever seen. Despite the stereotypes that all the characters are, they're still fun to watch and I particularly liked Allison. The only major problems I had with it were the really bland adults and the absolutely terrible ending.
The coupling up was completely unnecessary and Allison was way cooler pre-makeover; she basically changed everything that made her who she is because hurr gotta wear makeup and be pretty. I would have been perfectly happy if everybody had stayed the way they were and just been friendly with each other. Grrr...
What ruins this film is the end, why it is OK for <bender to stay the way he is, but Allison MUST change her looks and behaviour in order to "fit in"? I am no teenager and since I was a child in the 80's that issue has always bothered me.
A little dull. Main stoyline is pretty uninteresting, and almost nothing funny.
The Brad/Tony uniform story is just bad.
Also the whole premise is kinda flawed. If one of the guy has gone crazy, it's pretty clear the experiment already failed.
Definitely want to see more on the wife's story but there will surely be an episode for that.
the trailer gave me low expectations. The show itself is a big surprise! well done =) ( i just missed the part when we are supposed to know what The Mother did to spend 40 years in jail :o )
