Very disjointed season paired with a disjointed finale. The pacing was weird for a lot of the storylines, the storylines themselves felt somewhat bland or lacking because of poor writing even though they were promising concepts (bi Buck, Bobby’s past with Amir, Eddie’s breakdown), and not a whole lot of emergency responding considering they’re emergency responders lmao. I feel like they’ll sort things out next season, hopefully with more than 10 episodes so things feel properly spaced. So far I could see Buck and Eddie’s storylines developing into something good in the future, but Bobby’s and Hen’s are becoming recycled, and Chim and Maddie basically got paid dust this season. I heard they were still writing scripts very short notice before filming (a week or a couple days before filming the actual episode) so maybe that’s why. Idk.
My God, what has this series become?
Worst season, thanks abc!!!:grimacing:
JAG is the kind of show you need to take with a grain of salt. The emphasis is much more on entertainment then on accuracy or believability. They were throwing out some really wild stories. At its best it's good entertainment but it does resort to bad comedy or even soap opera style every now and then. My younger me liked the show a lot when it aired but having seen it now in its entirety I must say that espcially the later parts are not that good. I would say out of all episodes there were maybe five that were really gripping. One thing that is mind blowing is the staggering amount of continuity errors in the action footage. They just took whatever shot they needed or wanted and cobled them together not even caring that at times it wasn't even of the same modell of plane. But, like the producers, it doesn't seem to have bothered the audience. Still, I found it irritating.
David James Elliot was perfect for this role. He had something of a Tom Cruise / Maverick vibe yet a more adult version. When it comes to the female protagonist it went from great to worst. I loved Andrea Parker, still liked Meg Austin but never liked Catherine Bell. And that is true for the respective characters as well.
The longevity of the show has its pros and cons. They were able to build up good charcter arcs but the longer it went the more it felt they didn't know what to do with them any more. And that starts and stops with our main characters.
It was fairly obvious what would happen in the end and the fact they danced arround that part for basically nine seasons made it frustratingly tiresome. You can only do so much back and forth before it becomes a nuisance. Plus, they never really had great chemistry. It never felt natural. So by that account I wasn't really thrilled with the end or the final two seasons alltogether.
I wouldn't say the show as a whole is a waste of time but at a count of 227 episodes you need what the Germans call "Sitzfleisch". There is no translation for this but it means to have the stamina to see something through to the end.
With all the bumps, bruises, scrapes, cuts these boys get on their faces and body's every episode, they should have scars all over themselves by now. lol
These episodes really take a new meaning when you know what's coming with chuck by the end of the show.
Why does a Demon need to drive a car and a muscle car at that. LOL
I bet Jared had fun filing these episodes with his future real Wife. I read that he had quite the crush on her when she first appeared on the show.
very underwhelming plot, really can see it started as a fanfic but the 14 year old in me kinda liked it because of that. I really liked the acting and the casting, but there's really not much to the story
ofc Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine are really good actors, so they made it work
Overall, it’s a fun time. Is it the best movie I’ve ever seen? No. But it will give you butterflies. My major issue with it is that I wanted to know more about everyone around them. The band and their relationships are barely explored, which was, to me, a miss. I would also like to know more about her ex and his wife. Like, any of the other relationships are cardboard decorations in this movie. It is interesting how self-contained it feels, considering it’s a movie in which the main problem is the public.
A sweet heartwarming romance with main actors that share a real amazing chemistry ! For what it's supposed to be, I think it did great. One thing I would say against it is that the whole underlying scenario is cliché, expected (but not enough that it'll stop you fromhaving a good time, imo).
I've heard Anne Hathaway has received criticism for looking too young to play a 40yo, even though she herself is exactly that lol. And good for her. Otherwise I quite enjoy Nicholas Galitzine, but I hope he'll be able to not be typecast in the future, so that he doesn't oversaturate the romance flick market.
As a side note, Galitzine is 30. If they cast a real 24yo actor, would it have been cringier ? Maybe, given that we always see 24yo cast as highschoolers. How about irl though ?
Anne Hathaway, you will always be famous. A literal icon
The only cop show with so called upright law enforcers that can continuously commit criminal acts without any fear of prosecution. They can do whatever felony they wanna do.
my favorite Ep so far, Danny and Steve switched roles
I love Danny actor he's funny and cool when it matters.
And this case was personal and showed how far he will go for a friend.
I want more Danny episodes
Ah yes, the first microsoft sponsorship. I'll definitely use bing now :grimacing:
I love a tv show with a fully hot cast <333
i like this episode but i feel like maddie & chimney are such a good couple, they deserved more than a hospital wedding. was this all really necessary?
I don't like this season ... too much love stories and too focused on privates stories and not on the 911 interventions
I think I'll stop to watch it
what a boring episode, ABC always ruining the series
Hen is a hypocrite. Talking about drunks always come out without a scratch but yet she was in a car accident where she caused someone to die and almost caused another car accident. Like I said Hypocrite. Don't get me wrong though, Drunks who drive are selfish assholes and should be spending lengthy jail time every time.
I am quite certain that that is not what would happen if a child goes missing in a mall. The mall security would check these things called video cameras to see what happened and where the boy might have gone, as well as search for him.
Taylor might not be the most likeable character but Buck has some nerve being the one to break it up, when he wanted her to move in before. Is it just me or are the writers trying to villainize a woman who is career-driven?
Lucy had one hell of a entrance this season, but afterwards she just stayed in the background. All that drama, surrounding her and Bucks relationship basically went nowhere.
Not a bad episode at all, but a underwhelming finale considering what this show has given us before.
Uh and I’m so glad they didn’t take that direction with Bobby!
Brilliant episode! Could have been a season finale!
Drew me in from start to finish and even took a VERY emotional turn me as the 118 (finally!) came together to save Bobby. However, May was the true MVP of this episode, it’s been a joy to see her growth over the last couple seasons, it’s a shame she’ll most likely leave the show once is off for college. Her bond with Bobby as shown on this episode, is truly something.
By the end I wasn’t expecting any casualties, so that ending for Claudette was actually shocking. Sadly, not as impactful as it could have been, considering the little journey we have witnessed as she and May came together to work out their differences. Seems like she was a mean for something deeper going with the “Monday” guy? I’m not fully convinced about this approach but other than that, one of the strongest episodes 9-1-1 ever had!
Btw, I’m totally shipping Josh and Carson.
The dispatch center has some of the roughest actors, and they dedicated a whole episode to them. Claudette had a boring and predictable backstory turned connection to May. It also cracks me up seeing Lucy in so much makeup while having the firefighter outfit on lol, so out of place.
9-1-1 being 9-1-1, what an amazing episode! It was thrilling and also emotional at times. This show just knows how to maintain quality always up.
AWSOME episode :ok_hand: this how you draw in you viewers.
that biker really had it coming, like you're not supposed to take up the entire road with your bike!
how about you share the road?
While the stuff surrounding Eddie was great, the rest of the episode was rather lacking... I can't quite put my finger on why, though.
madney episode outsold and was the best ep of the season tbh
