So glad this show is here just before Christmas break. It's my 'little pleasure'.
Emily was infuriating this episode and it made me wonder if I missed this side to her in previous seasons. I mean she is kind of a shitty friend (to Camille mostly) but this episode really highlighted how self centered she can be. I hope this won't be something continuing throughout the season.
When you think it can't get any more insane... introducing: killer hypnosis. I must say, I like seeing Evelyn again. I don't really know why but I always thought she was the only good thing that came from this Farm storyline and I was a little bit sad to see her go. But seriously though... Tangerine? So IF Jughead is really dead (which is a big IF... the writers would be crazy to let the most beloved main character go) it's because Betty is under hypnosis on a killing spree to kill her dark self. Can we just let dark Betty go already? It never worked.
Good seeing Mama Blossom again. We could have seen that one coming. I'm glad Cheryl didn't kill her. Penelope has always been one of my favorite characters. Glad they finally got rid of creepy Jason... I can't believe this entire storyline though. Toni is all up in that crazy, seemingly okay with it. This ruined the sweet romance between Cheryl and Toni for me. How would she be okay with her girlfriend keeping the body of her deceased twin! Glad it's over.
Veronica does not learn. She continues to blab all of her plans to Daddy dearest and ends up being surprised by his comebacks. Girl, just stop talking. At least this episode didn't feature the words 'Daddykins' or 'Archiekins'... cringe
Speaking of Archie... I hope the writers give him something else to do now. All this beating up people is getting old. I love the moment he had with his mom though and I'm interested in seeing who his uncle is.
Carolyn is such an interesting character. She always manages to surprise me. How well where the young Carolyn and Konstantin cast? Especially Carolyn. The actress really made herself familiar with the subtle ways in which Fiona Shaw speaks and moves. As soon as the young Konstantin laughed I knew who he really was. That laugh gets me every time. Interesting to learn that both of them where present when the Twelve came to be. I wonder how this plays out though, wouldn't both of them know the identity of the original members? Are those members at the top or not? Konstantin isn't and Carolyn isn't even a part of the Twelve she is on the opposite side. Wouldn't Helene be hunting them down too?
The ending of this episode proves once again that Eve cares about Villanelle, more than she lets on. Obviously she's not dead right? With three more episodes left she can't be, right? What I wonder though is who shot that arrow... was is Konstantin?
I can forever appreciate the song that plays for Villanelle and Konstantin since the beginning.
Oh but this ending made me want - no, need - more! Is Javi dead? Are they going to pull another Josie, please let him be alive. Javi is too pure to be treated like that. Damn you Joseph. Also doubt that Mel is really gone, she's a survivor. I don't see her simply walking out of there without some sort of plan. And lastly, poor Ruth. I've started to really love her. I still remember season 1 where I couldn't wait to see her suffer but now she's turned into a real badass and I admire her morals and loyalty to them.
Oh man, what a mess. A good mess though. We're finally getting a sense of what happened to Jughead and now I'm thinking that he and Betty came up with a ridiculous plan, throwing everyone of their game.
I'm interested in Donna now. I wonder if we'll get some backstory of her but also Bret. I wouldn't mind exploring those characters because they are the best addition to the cast since... well since always.
I half expected this to happen with Jerome dying so Jeremiah could take his place as the Joker but it was still fantastic. I just hope that Jeremiah will be just as mad as Jerome because I really loved how that was done. Superb acting from Cameron, yet again, he is perfect for the part!
Damn that ending was some next level crazy, I love how even the other villains like Butch, Oswald and Jervis are like 'wtf Jerome?!'
I love the extra twist of the twin brother, can we ever get enough of Cameron?
Alpha and Beta are very interesting characters to watch. I like these flashback episodes that give us more backstory and I'm curious to see where they'll go next in the story. There is a very dark, twisted and powerful bond between the two that makes for great tv.
The pilot was very promising and this second episode is at the same level. I really like this story so far.
Joe is a very interesting character to follow because already I find myself being totally creeped out by him while at the same time rooting for him to get the girl. He has a warmth and kindness over him, like when he interacts with Paco, that can shift in a split second. Also like that from the voice over we can somewhat tell that he himself doesn't see it as creepy, the way he stalks Beck.
Can't wait to see how this develops further now that he got the girl, and the mention of Candace, what happened there.
One of the best episodes so far! Caught me completely off guard.
I don't think that I could've cried any more than I did. This episode was beautiful and heartbreaking. The emotions were so real, you could tell. Sad to see Fred (and Luke) go.
Got to watch early and I was so excited because I always have high expectations for mid-season finales and season finales, especially it being the last season. Was a tad bit disappointed to be honest. The mood they are setting is great. The cicada's - or what where they? - flying over the dark, tense silence, all good HOWEVER there wasn't enough happening. There is this constant build-up this season and I'm waiting for it to pop but it simmers down every time. I really expected someone to die by now. Someone other than a minor character like Marco. (Am I the only one who yelled POLO at the tv when Lydia cried out for him?)
Lance is great. I'm loving him. He is a good villain. One who seems nice and polite but slowly descents into madness. The way he didn't even flinch when that bullet grazed his face, excellent. He is calm and composed but his eyes show the crazy building up inside him. When he'll let out that crazy I'm sure things are really gonna blow. But when!? WHEN!?
I'm sad to see Leah go. She was beyond saving at this point. She was going to keep hunting Maggie so it's the natural course of the story to have her killed but man, she was one badass character! The one on one with Maggie was fantastic!
I still hope Pamela turns out to be a good, decent person unlike her son and Hornsby. But if she's not in the loop about everything that those two are up to than what does that say about her? Either way, this uprising is good. I wondered how long it was going to take before our group would try to take this town over.
My expectations for the final part of this show are really high. I hope they can live up to those after all this build-up.
Courtney suprised me. I truly loathed her during the first season and now in one episode it is gone. She (and various other characters) have grown a lot in those five months that it has been since Hannah died.
I love Skye, I can't wait to see more of her, she is an interesting characters that I can actually relate to a lot.
I am glad that Tyler has a close friend in Alex now.
Not the best episode but I love that they are drawing more and more attention toward Mr. Kaplan. Dembe is going to cause some trouble and I love him for it. One of the best sidekick characters ever.
Based on the plot alone this movie isn't the best. It's a pretty basic, thin plot but it makes up for that plenty with a great cast and beautiful shots. Cinematically this movie is definitely one of the better ones and the over all vibe they manage to set keeps you watching, waiting for something to happen.
A slow burn but worth the wait.
Aunt Hilda looking so happy is the best thing.
This is the first time I actually loved Jo. I have never liked the character much but this episode was so intense and you could just feel the heartbreak and angst. Meredith was superb, a real lioness looking after her own. Brilliant episode.
Nate you f***ing idiot... Now I have to admit, I never really liked Nate but I was always supportive of him. A lot of bad stuff happened to him because of AK and co. But this was just stupid. I get it, but it's stupid. He is screwing everyone over now.
Before the episode started I told myself that I did not want Gary and Gideon to become a couple unless it was a couple of besties. I had to adjust my opinion. I want it. Gary and Gideon are simply adorable together and I damn near melted when they touched thumbs!!
I'm so so so glad they kept Bishop for another season. Much like Thawne and Damien Darhk he is a fun villain and those are my favorites! Bishop potentially becoming a good guy is even better because I really want him to stick around - maybe become part of the team -.
Amidst Covid-19 they had to cut the season short but this episode could have been a season finale, setting things up for next season nicely. However... this season was by far the weakest of all and this episode was no exception. It lacked depth and I feel like we've been going in circles with the same sort of dialogue, the same issues for a bunch of episodes now.
Barry keeps losing speed, though, it seems to be a very slow process... excruciating to watch in my opinion. One of the things that I always loved about The Flash was Barry's upbeat personality and he's been going down a dark path for most of this season. Plus, this story arc focuses a lot on Iris and it's been tiring for a while now. Why wouldn't Eva just release Iris and co from the mirror? She has zero use for them.
I found the lack of Cisco in this episode poorly written. His girlfriend is in the mirrorverse, wouldn't he be at the center of this trying to bring her back? Are we suppose to believe he is doing all of that behind the scenes?
That is also a big issues with this season. It used to be Cisco, Barry, Caitlin and a variation of a Wells. Joe and Iris were a part of that too and eventually Ralph got in but now we barely see Cisco or Caitlin (though the latter is because of her pregnancy in this season of course but still). One of the last shots of Barry, Nash, Cecille, Joe and Allegra made me sad. It felt so far from where the show started in a bad way. I don't care for Allegra much either, not warming up to her whatsoever and this relationship they are trying to force with Nash and Allegra or Allegra and the team feels as forced as Allegra feels toward Nash. I hope season 7 will do better. The only things I've enjoyed truly about this season was the return of Thawne, Hartley Rathaway and everything pre Crisis.
Still I can't bring myself to shoot down the entire show or even this episode because there are always these little moments that make it worth it... like Sue and Ralph... sadly that will not be continued next season as most of us know by now.
Really good episode and much better than the previous one. This episode was a nice build up for future events proving once again that the Whisperers are a worthy and smart enemy. Beta is a great character to watch and I hope we'll see more of him and preferably less of Alpha, who at this point is number one on my 'to kill off' list.
In all honesty though... both Alpha and Beta came close to death this episode. I understand why Lydia wouldn't want to kill her mother, after everything it is still her mother. Daryl was in no state to kill her and he was lucky that Alpha is a fan of games because she could've killed him with that shotgun at least twice. I also strongly feel that Carol should be the one to off Alpha once and for all.
Beta could've been killed by the neck-tattoo lady... she had him pinned down and could've used the element of surprise that she had to kill him. I don't understand why they are still so hesitant. They want to maintain a sense of humanity but when it comes to Alpha and Beta they should know better. When an intruder comes into the camp and kills people off left and right it seems fair play.
Mindscape Thawne, Sherloque/Thawne... I will never ever ever get enough of Thawne in whatever form he arrives! Things are about to get interesting again. You know the story gets better when a new Thawne arc is introduced.
The scene where Barry sees the potential futures and dissolves into nothing like the comics is soooo good! I hope it won't go down that way but I love that they did that already, showed us how it could go down.
This season was so incredible! I think they did such a great job at showing these harsh topics. Sexual assault, bullying, gun violence, drug abuse, the aftermath of suicide. Everything was done so well and I love how all these characters evolved, how many got better after the tapes like Courtney for example. How everyone got to deal with their guilt and trauma and how they ended up closer, fighting for each other and standing by each other.
That scene at the dance, where they all came through for Clay, beautiful!
The bathroom scene was extremely disturbing to watch, I still feel shocked but this too was powerful to show so people can discuss it because it IS the reality for so many kids. These actors have all done such a superb job at portraying these intens characters and storylines. I honestly hope there will be another season, we can never talk too much about these topics, about this show.
Okay, this was good. Cecile is a very underrated character with powers that if given the chance could be super cool. I liked that we got to learn more about her.
Blaine joining New Directions is just fantastic! I truly adore Blaine and on top of that he has a great voice. Also digging Quinn's new look but I do hope she'll rejoin the club sooner rather than later.
Good movie with an eerie ending. It reminded me of IT and Stranger Things with that eighties vibe and a group of kids at the center of it all. Surprised me with that unsettling ending and I certainly didn't think Woody was going to die!
Saw this movie yesterday and absolutely loved it. I don't really think it's suitable for small children though, the humor is dark from time to time. Reminded me of Tim Burton's work mixed in with some 'a series of unfortunate events' vibes. Fun, heartwarming and a little dark.
This is the first time I was a little disappointed with a Flash episode. Cisco and Caitlin was definitely a highlight for me. Seeing the two interact made think of the old days when the team was just them, Barry and Wells. And I'm sad to learn that we really lost Harry and Jesse! The best Wells for sure. I was hoping the multiverse survived in some ways and they might've survived with it by breaching to another remaining earth. I feel like the end of Crisis kind of made that a possibility when they showed us some other earths but sadly they're gone.
I missed Ralph in this episode. I don't care much for Allegra and focusing more and more on Iris isn't my thing either, to be honest she annoyed me a lot in this episode.
Maybe I'm just feeling nostalgic, wanting those good old days again. I hope they bring forth the Sue Dearbon storyline soon. That will probably be a cool addition and a way to bring Ralph back in the picture!
This is a Madeleine appreciation post. I just love how she remains upbeat and friendly.
Moving on. I have such tremendous love for both Lorelai and Emily. I can easily imagine if I had seen this show as a teenager or young adult I would've seen Emily as the villain but now as an adult I see a woman who tries her best and seemingly fails every time.
