This movie could have been excellent, but it was really just a missed opportunity that made me angry. The biggest complaint I have is the utter lack of believability, which I can only suspend to a point. The fact that this was completely inaccurate in so many important areas just makes it unable to scare you or keep you invested. It's even more upsetting because of the potential that was there.
I get what they were trying to do here, but holy cow this was awful. It can't even really be taken as a fun, cheesy slasher. It's just bad. I have no idea where all the praise is coming from. No story, no funny bits, and horrible acting. Some of the kills were cool, but sorry - that can't save it.
I actually quite liked it. Very weird, and missing something when it comes to story. But really very Cronenberg, and the effects were awesome in my opinion.
If you liked the book, you will be disappointed. It's not a bad movie, but there are a ton of changes from the novel that really hurt the overall plot.
Beautiful film, zero substance. Left out huge plot points from the novel which honestly just leave the viewer super frustrated at the end. Not great, although the score and cinematography are gorgeous. Also, I loved the wolves.
