The 2nd season is more of the same.
Let me summarize:
Amateur character writing and acting combined with a nonsensical script and vapid unlikable characters.
All we really want is decent acting and a little sci-fi mystery (think LOST).
PS... Special effects are very poor, video game level.
This show is perfect for Mystery Science Theater 3000.
This show is very good, some of the acting is a little wooden, but it's light years ahead of La Brea on every front.
Lots of mystery, (think Lost), setting is great,. writing is solid.
I think I'm still suffering from shock at how back La Brea is.
Very good series, the story plods a bit in places but overall quite impressed. They definitely went with a Guy Ritchie style to this which mostly works but the slotting in of rock music tracks every so often becomes immensely annoying and really breaks the immersion, that aspect just didn't work at all!
Problem with this show for me is that it's so inconsistent. A few episodes are great, some are just OK and others are lousy to unwatchable. The rubbish episodes outweigh the few good ones by a considerable margin,
One of the best shows I have seen. The quality of the script, cast and acting is incredible. TV shows and movies are so often let down by limp and totally unbelievable story lines with key plot points moved along by 'character incompetence' (I pull a gun on you, show river, oh but wait villain is able to snatch the gun out of my hand and run off to fight another day), smacks of lazy writing, lack of imagination and poor ideas. None of that here at all. Only wish a company like Netflix or Amazon would do a second season of this.
I preferred this series when I was watching it, episodes 1-5, than when it ended when it just seemed to fizzle out. The cast and acting were great, the shots were a bit too dark in paces and at times it got a bit confusing but it needed to be given the nature of the story. It's just the ending I wasn't that impressed with, felt like a bit of an anti-climax.
Did they use a fog filter when filming this?
To me, a very mediocre k-drama.
The characters are predominantly caricatures, and VERY inconsistent ones while at it.
The plot is boring and the plight of the leads isn't interesting. It throws in makjang elements, but those never serve to make the overarching storyline interesting.
The production is of course excellent, though I wouldn't say there was any memorable music / OST.
The legal angle is in some ways very good, in others the typical ridiculous case-procedural in which a court battle takes a week from start to finish rather than a year. (Yes, how else would a TV show work.)
There were a bunch of filler episodes, especially the double episodes, and I wouldn't call the ending satisfactory.
A special, unique piece. With a really great cast.
Disappointing finale to a disappointing show. Teenage acting and writing. I'm done with the Flanaverse
Everything Everywhere All at Once is an epic film that is now my top favorite of all time. The movie's storytelling is masterful and the characters are so rich and complex that it keeps the audience engaged throughout the entire film. The film's themes, visuals and sound are all top-notch, making it a true cinematic experience. The film also explores the idea that ultimately nothing really matters, which is thought-provoking and adds depth to the story. Overall, this film is a masterpiece that should not be missed.
And remember: NOTHING MATTER!
Photorealism and nothing else. Scenery often feels fake af and variety is low. And if you dont give me some hard sience facts or theories i dont want to look at the same dinosaur for 20 minutes just because they look nice.
Gratuitous Violence, Political Machinations, Sexual Exposition. Classic Game of Thrones. 9/10
this show is rapidly making me lose my mind and i love it it's so good
I already find child actors annoying in general and leia manages to annoy me even more. The interactions between Kenobi and leia are annoying af aswell. The acting of fake jedi is really bad and annoying aswell. Every single cliché has been utilised and I don't know if I have the strength to watch this show further, it annoys me so much that I'd rather be back in school and listen to a teachers 2 hour monologue. If you want to experience star wars besides the main movies, go watch clone wars and Rebels, because those are actually good shows.
I was to lazy to form real sentences and write a real review because the show doesn’t deserve to waste another minute of my life
So so 3-part series that doesn't really spark at all and has a typical ending... although not so typical finale as they show you the aftermath of the main characters involved. Even the main characters are supposedly friends, but they don't have any type of 'connection' between each other, like they have never actually bonded as friends at any time. It's all very forced.
Everyone in this show gets to choose a logical move/decision (sometimes several times) - or a stupid one, and every one of them go down the stupid route.
Added this, they constantly wandering around going from the basement to the hotel area throughout the movie - even though they all know where the exit of the resort is!!
Giving this a more than generous 4.5 out of 10, but I'd really advise just skipping it entirely.
Good acting, good story. Based on a true story except the bits they made up.
Keeps you engaged right up to the end. Not your typical lame TV show.
Definitely worth watching.
9/10
I just watched another TV show and one of the people kept hushing the woman and all I could think was - what would Candy do?
Absolutely jaw-dropping. I waited until all 10 episodes were available and watched them consecutively. Had I watched the show in weekly intervals I probably would have agreed with the majority of other viewers and lost interest. But I implore you to give it a chance. It’s quite unlike anything else. 10/10.
I haven't finished it yet, casting and acting is quite poor tho. Spencer's actor made me want to skip all his scenes, the scene with his mother was atrocious. Some other are doing a better job, but yeah, maybe a couple.
The little stories are cute, but the main plot for the moment is kinda boring (I am at episode 8).
I was indifferent to this show until the last 2 episodes... now I want another season!!! This is really looking like its gonna be good.
The end of an era.
The actors are so badly cast. They look like B-List actors. Galadriel for example looks like an average person. Nobody has that special magical look.
I get that the series is built on the premise of a post-apocalyptic world. But they go so far as to show a deteriorating city of highrises and an entire rotting battleship run aground. How is it believable that the people are simply unaware of what a bomb is? The godflame? Weapons of thunder and fire? C'mon! IT'S A BOMB!!
Very intense Chef!! But enjoyed it a lot, very bingeable and some really fantastic scenes. Hope they make more.
Funny, how just when you think CW can't possibly get any worse it suddenly does.
Really surprised how quick the wedding happened. I never liked Zainab, her reasons not to hire Dennis and giving away his dog for money was kinda spoiled and elitist. But in the end, it appears that she was right, Ramy only brought trouble to a mosque and the people inside of it. Ramy just turned into BoJack Horseman. I think it was interesting to see that Ramy figures out he's the villain of his own show. I do love how this comes full circle when he goes back to Dennis' car where he listens to the CD describing what it means to be a Muslim.
That was a nice double rainbow.
so many storylines are intertwined together & going thru changes right now that i'm on the edge of my seat right now :)))))
i've never been so excited & scared & emotionally-tied to a week-by-week show so thanks bill hader & the rest of the writers & directors involved <3 <3 <3 you guys are my faves
p.s. again i'm deeply begging the Emmy people to nominate Sarah Goldberg this time around!!!!!!!!!! she has been on fire this season!!!!!!!!
am i the only one who thought the writers fumbled the bag with this season finale ;/
idk it was just kind of anticlimactic/predictable leading up to & after the big fight
i actually thought the character growth for the cast as whole (leading up to this point) was fucking brilliant every step of the way, i guess i was just expecting more pizazz or a real grand finale that would wow me.
This film was all these kids' very first role and they're still better than 95% of the child actors you see in USA movies.
