Phil and Claire will always be one of my favorite TV couples, even if they are absolutely unrealistic.
I wish they had cancelled this show at season 4. This is... so bad.
I fall more and more in love with Kim Chi at every episode, but I had to say I really could have slapped Acid Betty at some point there. Thorgy was great and I'm surprised she didn't win, because I loved her performance and look both! I really disliked Laila, not impressed with Dax, looooooved Naomi's runway, and I don't think Acid Betty's nice looks can make up for her awful personality at all, but at least she tries. Gigi is an amazing dancer, but her runway was sooo boring... a little sad, really. The others. eh, just disappeared to the background.
As for the elimination: truly, is anyone even surprised? If you can't lipsync I Will Survive, your gay/drag subscription needs to be revoked ASAP.
As someone who had hated the novel, I'm very surprised to say the movie turned out very, very enjoyable! The premise translated way better into a movie than it did for a novel, the fighting scenes were nicely done, and the cast was also quite brilliant. For the first time ever, I could tolerate Douglas Booth on screen for more than 5 seconds, and that's a record. There's nothing particularly remarkable about it, but still, it was pleasant and entertaining.
I'm gagging for Kim Chi's thighs! Actually, her entire proportion is just perfect, wow. The whole anime look also has my heart, because, well, I'm really biased, being already a Harajuku fashion enthusiast!
I loved her, and Cynthia, whom to me seemed like the nicest person there, while Bob appears to be the funniest. Robbie however, got on my nerves. Her meanness clearly comes from a place of envy. Acid Betty has the most interesting style, and Naomi... she's the bombshell of the season - those never ending legs and that ass... wow, just wow! (I have no idea why she went so shapeless though I understand the heroin chick look she was going for and all - she really needed to add some femininity to her chest area). Also, I'm shocked by Derrick - breaking away from Britney will be really hard, she's just too spot on on her! The odd one out seems to be Gigi, but honestly, I'm really surprised with her and her skill to pull something decent off in the last minute after her original design was ruined. Points for being cool under pressure, girl! She seems to be the season's underdog, and I think she'll go far if she keeps that nerve.
The other queens... hm. I'm not very impressed. Time will tell what can they bring.
The werewolf transformation is just not as believable as before :(
I really, really loved the new character designs! Unfortunately, the movie is a mess in plot and development. I understand it was made to bring new fans into the franchise, but I think it will just scare people off with this horrible story.
Hey, I really enjoyed this change of scenery! I'm glad they'll remain in LA a little longer :)
Wow, that was incredibly bad.
This episode featuring the impact of gender roles in education was just brilliant. I'm impressed Disney has brought this up at all, considering how very fond of gender stereotypes their shows tend to be. I just loved this little feminist note on the show. Very sweet.
The cast is impressive, but the movie is ultimately very bland. The CGI is basically the only thing it's got going for it, and still we can't say it's that amazing either. As a prequel, I guess it's an interesting twist in the characters, but not a very convincing one, and I'm not even talking about how it doesn't match the original mythology (flying without fairy dust? His parents actually wanting him when his personality is later on so strongly based off how rejected he felt by them? Romantic tension between Hook and Tiger Lily?), just commenting on how very weak this new mythology is.
Also, what's up with that native tribe? They look like they evolved from some old school ravers that stumbled into Neverland from a desert party in California! I mean, don't get me wrong, Rooney Mara was actually a very nice - if very white - Tiger Lily, I'm just not approving the costume choice.
Though not really as creepy as the books or the original series, it was a nice homage to several books and the author himself, and that was great. Stine's appearance as "Mr. Black" by the end was great, and I'm surprised to find that I enjoyed Black playing Stine a lot, even if I feel like he could have been more creepy and less goofy.
Aw, seriously. What an adorable episode. Brick watching Grandpa Big Mike was extremely adorable, and Sue making new friends thanks to Axel was great too. I really like the episodes that focus on their relationship, they're my favorite siblings on TV!
I felt more awkward, "please let's fast forward through this", second-hand embarrassment than any real desire to laugh.
I've tried, but this is where I quit. I'm surprised at how bored this show made me.
Fun movie, with great acting from a superb cast. So what if the plot is a little lame? It's a teenage secret agent movie, there's only so much one should expect from it. The characters were ok and the story was cute enough. The references to classic teen movies got me quite nostalgic, and the overall movie reminded me of those after-school hours movies that used to be on TV in the 90's. Overall, I found it quite pleasant.
They should really fire whoever is responsible for Ashley Rickard's make-up, it's been terrible for too long already!
Also, Sadie = best character.
When pop singers turn actors, it's often hard to see any character beyond their stage persona, but I'm so pleased by Lady Gaga's performance in the show. The Countess is definitely growing on me.
So many shows turned awful this season I nearly dropped everything I was watching. Scream Queen though, is a beacon of hope. There's still TV I can endure out there.
Well, the kids were really good. That's it, though.
A brilliant cast in a less than brilliant movie. I kept feeling I had seen this one before. I'm not sure I actually had and it was just really forgettable or if it's just the cliche plot that got me feeling that way.
It's well produced, well acted and well directed, but that doesn't really save the rather lame plot. For a horror comedy though, it's still decent. Goofy and gory as it should be, but not particularly funny much less scary. It provided some entertainment even when the genre isn't the most appealing to me.
I'm ok with where the show is going and all, but Jenna's excessive make-up keeps distracting me. It's... just not good.
I'm done. This show should have been finished about 3 years ago. It's been going downhill and it's really, really bad.
It would be hard to judge the movie without comparing it with the old one by the title alone, but with all borrowed scenes and lines, I fear this is impossible - and that's bad, because they're putting themselves against something quite brilliant. What I kept thinking while watching is that this is too "literal", meaning they've set up these scary scenes without setting the proper psychological mood for them, making them less than effective in scarying the audience. I missed that. Some of the scenes were really well done visually, but utterly unemotional and therefore, just not not scary.
Some animation movies are meant to be enjoyed by children and adults both. This is not the case with Minions, which tells the story of the adorable little white fellows that first appeared in Despicable Me before they met Gru. It's a shallow and silly story, with equally shallow and silly characters, but oh, so emphatic on the cuteness aspect, clearly aiming for the younger audience. Children will enjoy it, but parents might just fall asleep watching it. I almost did.
Refreshing is definitely the word for this flick. The influence of internet and social media has been all around recent movies, but the desktop/Skype cam was new (at least for me), and the execution was great. There was tension and suspense and I was hooked. Not at all a masterpiece, but excellent entertainment!
While I did not enjoy the movie (the song and dance numbers were particularly terrible), I found myself fond of the characters... it's a nice concept, I agree, just not very well executed.
I agree with Shanice entirely. The script can be very silly, but every situation just ends in a beautiful note. Not so similar to the content in Boy Meets World in my opinion, this show stands on its own. It's also the sweetest one Disney Chanel has come up with in a long time and it's just impossible not to love Riley's pure heart.
Uh, the movie was nice, but so so weird. Whoever wrote this might consider a career change.
