"Saved by the Bell?"
"The hit show that launched no one's career."
I laughed, but that was a bit mean, haha.
Oh, I loved that flashback scene between Ruby and young Andre.
I was a little unsure of the stylistic choices of the episode, the lights and colors, were too obvious for my taste and I think it actually kind of ruined the very sensitive topic (the Coldplay song did not help either, but that is just personal taste). Still, the overall result was not bad. The dialogue was a great approach on the subject of marital crisis and very well written, and Ross and Anderson delivered the lines and the emotions just right to make it real. Really a pity that the visual of the scene and soundtrack did not keep up with them.
I have often felt like Zak abuses his position as a leader a bit, even when I think the isolated/scary locations he chooses are actually relevant and turn out, if no evidence, entertaining footage. But I think it is very petty of him to take revenge on Aaron for a prank, when he has done so much worse to him for the sake of shooting. In fact, Zak rarely ever stays anywhere too scary on his own, and when something happens, he screams for help, while never helping anyone who is in an uncomfortable place, often placing himself out of earshot anyway!
I still like the show, I guess, but I like the dynamic of the team less and less.
That was a bit underwhelming, compared to the series so far. Maybe it should have stretched into a 12 or 13 episode season.
I do hope they get renewed and move on to The Angel of Darkness, it is my favorite of the novels!
I knew it was coming, but still... the show actually made it harder this time :(
I have now watched this episode 4 times, trying to decide where they are taking this murder investigation, in comparison to the book. I am not sure I like the way that is going, because I am so fond of the source, but oh, do I love where they are taking the characters! I love how they are exploring the rivalry between John and Lazlo, which is not really something that happens in the book, even though the Mary plot is faithful enough. I am quite enjoying all these new interpretations, and Dakota Fanning is coming off so well as Miss Howard! I cannot wait until we see more of Cyrus and Steve as well. Will Kat make an appearance, I wonder? Ah, I am looking forward to this!
Ben for the win, but keep Trixie in second for the running commentary!
Finally, Sue and Sean! That was certainly the high point of the episode. But I had problems with the Frankie and Axl church plot - guilt tripping your kids into attending church is not cool. Attending church with no faith is not cool. Church is not a social experience, it is not a space to showcase your singing, and it is not a place meant to be seen picture perfect with your family. Not attending church when you do not feel like it, is just fine, and not attending at all because you are not religious, is just fine too! Be social at a party, sing with a caroling group, perhaps try other kinds of celebration if you do not like the Christian one. I think this kind of behavior would classify as an unhealthy relationship with religion. I wish the writers had been more sensible about it.
That was far darker than I expected. I have trouble with the mockery Miranda makes out of people with mental disabilities, but I appreciate how terrifyingly truthful the whole plot with her father was. It is true that Miranda is difficult to like, but he left when she was a little kid. The act itself is cruel, admitting he did so because of her is cruel, and do we not see this too often when a child with disability is born? How many parents simply cannot take responsibility for their child and leave, sometimes completely abandoning them? It really got me.
Whenever reality crosses Miranda's perception, it is nothing but absolutely harsh and cruel to her. Maybe it is not such a wonder that she would rather live so far away from it.
Are Jonah's tattoos made with sharpie...?
Yael is so merciless. She even smiled as she hit. That was the first time I laughed out loud in Degrassi and I pretty much watched the entire franchise before this!
I had to Google to find out whether scooter ball was a thing or not, and it turns out it is.
There were some good moments, some meh moments, and the overall episode felt "just ok" to me. But I feel positive it will improve :) There's just a little dusting to be done!
I am too sad for Drake. But I agree with the users who said Rita's ending was not right. I get that she would want to kill her dad, but I do not see why Major could not have pulled her up.
And the bit about the singer Rob Thomas... I have to say I loved it, despite the terrible pun. I just love his music :)
I was excited to learn Emily Browning was playing Laura in the show, even though the character has few parts in the book. Seeing this episode with sole focus on her backstory just made so happy, and Browning was great in it. She's definitely playing Laura brilliantly and I cannot wait to see more!
I will miss this show so much. The ending sequence with Toby Regbo and highlights of Mary's life was beautiful, and Elizabeth's speech downing armor was awesome! I'm not sure about how things ended for France, it felt like such a cliffhanger. Still, I'm mostly pleased with the finale, despite being upset for not having more seasons.
Rachel Skarsten's performance on the scene in which Elizabeth accuses Jane was so good! The way she moved, was so much like a tiger, her dancing background really showed, it was pure grace. I really hope she gets a new show soon, she has been amazing in Reign, and will be the one of the actors I will miss the most.
Although I remember clearly how full games would fit into a single floppy disc (my at the time favorite, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, for instance!), I kinda have to wonder if yearbooks with pictures and captions would really take only one disc when my school projects needed a lot of editing not to get bigger than 1.44mb when pictures where included.
Funny nostalgia there, which is definitely what I enjoy the most about this show :) I do wish Rowan Blanchard had more screen time though, I think she's great.
Each episode gets better and better, and yet this will be the final season. Ugh!
I think Zoe's college life will be the first fun and interesting college experience arc ever to appear in family sitcoms. At least this episode was very promising!
I love how the people Kamau interviews are either absolutely awesome and inspiring or absolutely terrifying,
I'm shipping Sue and Sean so hard, I think they'd be very cute. Annoying, but cute.
I'm just loving this season so much! For once I'm enjoying every plot and sub-plot.
I wonder if all Saints have the secret ability to teleport, because I don't see how could Shiryu have gotten from China to Greece in only a few hours, hahaha.
That scene with Frankie getting groceries from the couple killed me with second hand embarrassment. I almost couldn't finish the episode. Oh. My. God.
The werewolf transformation is just not as believable as before :(
Hey, I really enjoyed this change of scenery! I'm glad they'll remain in LA a little longer :)
Aw, seriously. What an adorable episode. Brick watching Grandpa Big Mike was extremely adorable, and Sue making new friends thanks to Axel was great too. I really like the episodes that focus on their relationship, they're my favorite siblings on TV!
I've tried, but this is where I quit. I'm surprised at how bored this show made me.
