BEEF: 1x08 The Drama of Original Choice

Oh, I disliked George at first, but now I'm sad about him :disappointed: I hope he's ok, and poor Junie. Sometimes some things are better left untold, I guess (Amy coming clear didn't do anyone any favors).

The ending of every episode of this series is a masterpiece of camera work and music. Really stunning, and makes you want to continue watching on one hand, and revel in it on the other.

I love how they make this irrational behavior seems very logical here and there. It's also interesting how they are so alike, that if they weren't "beefing" they could've actually been friends or more, considering George is really annoying Amy with his spiritualism and she'd feel more natural with Danny who despite all his flaws just tells things as they are. I think this series is really refreshing.

I loved seeing glimpses of the team from the early seasons - it makes you feel good about aging, as long as you're putting in the work, being older makes you resilient, stronger, and even more attractive in a way. That's very soothing for me.
I think it was quite obvious that Mer was pretty match indifferent towards Delucca, like he's some kind of sweet puppy she could pet. I hope they won't drag this story on, I'm ready to see him with someone else. I'd also like to see some depth in Helm, aside of fangirling over Meredith.

Loved the writing on Amelia's and Owen's confrontation. The only thing missing from the story was the father of the patient's baby. It is a woman's body and primarily her choice, but I think it also has to be acknowledged there's another side involved, even if he's not in the picture, it could be inquired and stated.
We get really cheery person we never knew about? It was obvious she's not going to survive long. Sad about Richards strained relationships with his family, hope it'll bring him close to Catherine though.

I loved how they played on the fact there's too much pregnancies/babies on the show at the moment.
Loved Jo this episode, reminded me of their first wedding adventures.

I wanted Bailey and Ben baby for a while, but this feels kinda overdue, and yes - too much babies lately, the one who writes this definitely has some baby fever.
Additionally, I liked Tom more when he was just the right amount of obnoxious. Now it's overboard and not the cute Dr. House style of the arrogant brilliant doctor, but ego-bruised alpha-pos.
Also, I dislike Hunt's hypocrisy - he took paternity leave to avoid Tom, but wants to make himself look good, really don't like it, he makes himself look so nurturing while being ready to jump ship at any minute (however - I must admit is really hot when he jumps on top of patients, argh).
In general, IMO kids deserve at least one parent who is willing to devote at least a year or two to their well-being. This doesn't shown in this show unfortunately and it portrays a very poor picture IMO. It's like - glamorize the medical professions all you like, but parenting is NOT a substitute position...

I'm rooting for more Link screen-time, he's probably the most likable guy right now, him and Amelia going through stuff might be interesting if she won't fall into her regular patterns.
To Owen's credit - when breastfeeding and having a build-up, to "milk" is a real help and relief (requires some strength too), so here I salute him. Maybe he'll become better with Teddy.
Jackson is weird, his outgrown hair makes him look kinda crazy. Good thing that he and Maggie are over, being "siblings" now might be entertaining to watch (assuming Richard and Catherine's marriage survives the hit).

The thing with the bike at the end left me amazed, great action scene, and kinda un-expected though expected. I wondered how they'll keep it interesting for 16 episodes of almost 90 minutes each, but nothing seems dragged-out for now.

I actually felt that the "mediocre white man" rent was a social commentary at itself, that often those who get the heat are the relatively decent people (like Chip and Yanko in this episode), while the real predators (Fred, for example), go on with good exit package and continue pulling the strings behind the scenes with full confidence and entitlement.
It was more subtle that the one in Italy with Mitch.
Also, I love Mitch's real and not exaggerated remorse. I think the show is well-balanced.

Grace and Frankie: 7x16 The Beginning

Awesome series with a heart-warming finale.
One thing I didn't like is the bit about Bud being a hated divorce lawyer - the problem is not that he does well his job, but the fact that people get divorced, but I can see the logic of not engaging in the negativity while not being that kind of guy.
Robert was so cool about his decline, so is Frankie. Something we can really learn from.

I liked the fact that she ended in different guy in each version, but had the same profession and goals, like you can be happy with different people as long as you're loyal to yourself.
Beyond that, the hardships felt insignificant. Only child of well-off parents who are first disappointed by the baby, but afterwards are all on board (financially as well, that's a big one).
Also, she's hardly a teen mom, so it was an early pregnancy, but not something extremely difficult.
So a good entertainment, nothing too jolting, the acting was good enough for me, since there wasn't too much depth to begin with.

The esthetics did remind "house of flying daggers" that I watched long long time ago. It is only a plus for me. What a time to live in, when you get a series as equally amazing as a cinema film. I imagine that as usual, it's not going to be as visual the whole 20 series, but I still amazed by the quality they kicked off with.

Smearing the blood on the baby was overkill IMO.
Other than that it looks good, I watched it before starting season 5, and I like that they already decided season 6 will be the last, It's enough to tie everything without dragging it too much.
Some scenes were unnceseccary long, I watch it at 0.10 speed, and it had a nice flow to it, I do it with some clever shows that stretch their episodes.

The scene where a woman shames other woman for wanting stability, a man and a child... I really hate this. Should Janine stayed she would be alive.
I loved this for aunt Lydia's bits.
A good character became insane and as said - plot armored in the most ridiculous way.

Serena's baby is not from Fred, right? It's from this agent guy. So basically, If Serena had another man who could've to impregnate her - Gilead wouldn't happen (because I remember her not having a baby was a big struggle for her and partly the reason she pushed for it), because obviously, Fred is sterile, not being able to get nor June nor Serena pregnant.

I hope the handmaids escaped before June and Nick's squat got there, probably with young Keyes becoming the leader (and later resenting June for abandoning her).
The hardships of those in Canada were very real, and I loved Moira's outburst about June, that was very real. I only missed Luke in this episode.

The Handmaid's Tale: 4x01 Pigs

I actually hoping to see a new twist, of having people corrupted while looking innocent (Mrs. Keyes, I'm looking at you).
It'll be interesting now, that we see some kind of downcast in the dooming of men (seeing Johny Depp exonerated, as well as Kevin Spacey).
Victims become the victimizers so easily.
Also, June is kinda drunk on power, if Gilead will fall, she won't be able to live a regular life like before.
The show certainly not easy to watch, and sometimes it's difficult to get into its rhythm, but it's worths it.

Yes, lame and boring for most parts, the fact I watched the "Station 19" episode first didn't help, made me even more frustrated and sad about the whole Ripley situation.
I'll finish off both these seasons and probably take a break, it is getting kinda lame, many characters are utterly demolished :( GA definitely needs new blood, I grew to hate Delucca (someone was right saying that Delucca could've at least mentioned his deported girlfriend, it just shows how inconsistent the writers are) and Owen (getting therapy as he should've from day 1 after choking Christina) and feeling redeemed from EVERYTHING. Gah.

I like that they made Jo actually look like she's not well. Her attitude as itself - I kind of understand her, she's at the lowest and dealing with it as she can. Coming to work wasn't good for her, she should've just leave, get a psyche evaluation to clear her or something (Bailey would've understand). Alex is obviously triggered, my poor guy :(
Dr. Kim with his outburst on Schmiddt was kinda stereotypically Asian, no? "No failure is accepted", blah-blah-blah. Not his best moment, but gah, he looks good in a suit.
Jackson is so sweet, and on some level I can understand his relationship with Maggie. Like Amelia said - it's kinda the easy way. Not best for the steamy drama we love, but I've accepted it.
Meredith and Delucca is meh, but fine, not sure it'll last, he seems too young and carefree for her tbh, but good story on the short run,
This might seem like a low for GA, but perhaps they'll finish the season with a bang or something.

Oh no :( I'm afraid this is going to break JoLex after they had such a good time after the wedding. Jackson was right when he told her this might end badly, this is like a whole new level of trauma, knowing you're a product of rape (sure, not so surprising, but the scenes with the biological mother was well written) :((
I think she should've talk to him, but again, she said herself she's always the one to leave first :((

Delucca's family is all blah tbh.
Mer really don't need that kind of energy in her life, but I can understand why she chose him, McDreamy hair and somewhat instable self-worth, like a mini-McDreamy. Link and Amelia are really cute, and I finally got used to Jackson with Maggie,
I really do hope that something's gonna happen and Riggs would come back for Mer (if Teddy came back - everything is possible) and chase Delucca away to go cry on someone's couch. A real man-child with unresolved daddy issues and possibly a mental problem he'd need to treat too (now that we know his dad, we can trace back the signs, that's kinda disturbing, although I might read too much in it).
I'm really sad that they really ruined Owen, it's only get worse with him, I'd be really annoyed if Alex goes away (and I know he will at some point!) - but this crap will stay. I still think we don't have enough guys in GA now. It's just Link, Levi with
