I just finished my 3rd or maybe even 4th time watching all the episodes. Still, I really enjoyed it. The mysteries are clever and enjoyable even if you know who did it, but the highlight here are the interactions between Kageyama and Reiko. Just perfect.
I think I have seen this already more than 5 times, and each time it is so much fun. Too bad there is not a second season. If you like shows like Red Dwarf, It crowd, or Black books, you will love this.
It's an ok time travel movie, but it's hard to take seriously when everyone is behaving like total idiots. You just can't believe that these people are supposed to be genius scientists that developed time travel.
You have to admire the acting range of Ryan Reynolds. It goes all the way from Ryan Reynolds, up to playing Ryan Reynolds.
But jokes aside, this was better than I expected from the trailer. Some funny moments, some stupid moments, some nice CGI, some ugly CGI, some ok action. Overall an enjoyable two hours, but forgettable. The thing that most stuck with me is, how none of the writers have any idea how magnets work. None at all.
Overall a funny story, that is quite stupid and hampered by some bad acting. This would work better as a stage play.
I really liked the first one. Not really this one. There are some nice moments, the fight choreography is mostly good (a few too many cuts) and luckily the story and characters get better as the movie progresses. I even started to like the main characters towards the end. But it was not enough. Most of the time I was just thinking that I should just turn it off and watch the better first one.
There is nothing really new here, this "return home" story has been done so many times. But the actors are good, the scenery is beautiful and its's overall an enjoyable movie.
Not really what I expected, but a quite good mystery with a few good plot twists.
Some creepy scenes, but this is more of a family drama and comedy. Not great, but mostly enjoyable.
Thie really reminded me of the movie Dave, in the story and execution. It just tried to avoid any conflict at all costs, and the cost was a blander story overall. But still, it has enough funny moments to be entertaining enough.
I think the overacting was on purpose, but still, some of the scenes would work better if it was done more seriously. Still, there were enough funny moments to enjoy the movie.
It's a fun mystery Japanese show. If you like those you will like this one. But I would not choose this one as a start, as the main characters like to refer to many other shows all the time (Galileo, Doctor X, and others)
It was mostly ok, but it missed a real movie spanning conflict. There is mostly nothing important happening until the last 10 minutes and then it ends rather quickly.
A funny movie where most of it comes from the absurdity of the premiss. The ending let it down a bit, but even so, I laughed enough to like it.
A wonderful movie, that will test your patience. It feels a bit slow even compared to other movies based on Higashinos work. But well worth it. I love how Higashino always connects everything in the end, nothing feels random. And that's even harder when time travel is included.
Maybe not as good as the book, but a really good adaptation. Too bad that once you know how it ends it's a bit harder to enjoy the mystery.
Enjoyable although quite a short mystery series. The cases in each episode are quite interesting and those that like Japanese detective shows will not be disappointed. I just had two issues with this show. First the flares. There are so many of them you would think you are watching a star trek movie. Makes it hard to watch especially in the first episode. At least it gets better as the show progresses. Secondly, the casting for the main character. I found the performance quite good, but the actor just did not fit the character, at all. The behavior and everything would fit much better with an older actor. This one is hard to take seriously a lot of times.
Season 2 update: While still entertaining, the overall tone of the series shifted, going for a lighter comedic feel. But the flares remained. The ending of the second season was also weaker and they don't close the cliffhanger from the first season at all. I hope there is a season 3
One of the shows I love going back to. I think I have seen it at least 5-6 times already. The main character is funny, likable, perfectly played. The supporting cast is great, the stories are entertaining, the time travel is used in an intelligent way. And not to forget all the inside jokes, like the effects the driver starts adding to the time travel, the criminal detective show you see snippets across various episodes and much more
The main leads work quite vell together here which makes for quite an entertaining movie. Exactly what one would expect of a simple sport-themed romantic comedy.
I really enjoyed the performance and the interactions of the main characters, and the overall mystery had a quite good resolution. Good one
It's a well-made catastrophic movie
The action looks mostly good, but over time it gets a bit boring, and with a quite simple story it can't hold the movie up for the whole runtime.
Interesting movie. Reminded me a lot of Memento. Quite a bit of mystery with a lot of surprises. It just felt a bit bloated, could have been cut down a bit. Also, the green hue in parts of the movie just looked horrible.
Wonderful movie, even though quite sad. Once the mystery hooks you in it will not let you go until the movie ends. Keigo HIgashino writes great books and the adaptations are not far behind.
This movie it's like a hamburger from McDonald's. Tastes fine, but it's mass-produced and forgettable. If you ask me tomorrow, probably the only thing I will remember is, that it looked pretty. Nothing else.
It was really hard to root for the main character, as she had no setbacks or challenges the whole time. Everything just worked out. While everyone was dying around her, she did not even get a scratch. Even Superman has always that moment when you think he could lose. There was no such moment here.
It was not bad, compared to Black widow this was a masterpiece. But it just felt like when you see a painting, painted by numbers. It can look fine, but it has no soul, no creativity. The story was nothing new, the characters were not new. It's like watching a movie you have seen many times before, just with new actors. How many times can you have some ancient evil that was closed away released, and the main character has to fight it. They always mention a better story, as a legend, and then show something worse. Why can't we see that? Where it all started.
But I think this movie deserves an award. Award for the most pointless character in a Marvel movie. The character of Katy felt so pointless, that even the movie forgot about her for most of it.
It started really well and then went with full speed off the cliff. I would give the first half a 9, the second a 5. So 7 on average.
I was expecting more clever games as they progressed, but it went the other way. The whole tone shifted after the 4th episode and not for the best. And whose idea was there to incorporate flashbacks for characters that were just introduced minutes ago. Nobody cares. You have main characters, how about focusing on them. But no, they were sidelined for the whole second half.
It was fun in the beginning, but I did felt a bit bored towards the end. Too much of the same
The whole time I had a feeling that I am watching a new Fast and Furious movie, just with Chinese actors. And that's mostly what it is, a lot of cars, action and bad acting. But they have Jacking Chan, and that's always a plus. Mostly, fun and entertaining action movie. Not the best, not the worst.
Great pirate movie, even if a bit too much inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean. Still, great characters and many funny moments.
Update: After watching it few more times, I now like it more than Pirates of the Caribbean (just not the sequel, that was bad)
