Breathtaking animations and a solid set of music throughout. You feel a slowness to the film at times, that builds slowly until the release. But it worked for the film.
There could’ve been more said, more words to explain how the characters felt. But I think it was more impactful because of what wasn’t said.
In a very short amount of time that the film takes, I was able to empathize with the characters and I love the relationship between the simplicity of their lives and the complexity of their emotions.
When the characters finally opened up to each other, it felt like a breath of fresh air. They were each drowning in their lives, lonely and looked down upon. But together, they could finally breathe.
It’s a simple story, but poetic and meaningful.
Misa: "I would never dream about living in a world without Light!"
L: "Yes that would be dark."
I knew that was going to happen at some point
I really found myself interested in the first half of the movie. The unique situation and characters were very well thought out and created some very neat concepts. Then the resolution of everything just felt random and disorganized to me. It was still worthwhile to watch but probably not something I'll revisit later on.
"What?! I'm not finished?"
"Haha that's what she said."
It all happened so fast....
Wow I can't believe a show with so much sex appeal and fan service could actually have a decent story and great action scenes.
Incredibly well done Anime. The characters were well fleshed out and interesting and despite having a fairly simple twist on the world, it makes for a really cool story. For seasoned detective show watcher's, it may be too easy to figure out "who's who." But I still found that I enjoyed it just as much even if I held the correct suspicions well before the reveal. The story was well worth my time and I found myself quite attached to the characters.
"You're an idiot." It's true though.
It's a shame how poor this reboot turned out. They should have just continued with an animated series and maybe it would have stood a chance.
This was a childhood favorite of mine. Still pretty good to rewatch as well. It's kind of like a more tame version of S.A.O.
Woah, that's not PG-14 lol
Funny little side plot episode. A little creepier than expected...
An incredibly wholesome Anime about life, loss, and being kind. A worthwhile show.
Edit: The third season started slow but wow was it incredible. It really made for a phenomenal story and a beautifully orchestrated closure.
Glad that this Anime is still going strong. Such a fun setting with all the creative superpowers and they keep smoothing out each plot arc nicely.
I'm just here to say that I got to see Eri smile. That is all.
These aren't the recaps you're looking for. Move along, move along.
Completely just a recap episode. There’s literally nothing new added so unless your memory is foggy, skip.
I would definitely recommend watching this after the first season of the Anime. (Sword Oratoria is certainly not necessary)
It was a fairly interesting story that got going pretty quick. I found the movie to be enjoyable and entertaining, but certainly not the most amazing movie of all.
I found that this show was actually fairly decent on its own. It doesn't have over-powered characters (cough-Kirito) and the main character is actually quite like-able and charming. There is a greater degree of character development and I can definitely say I enjoyed it more than SAO seasons 1+2. However, that doesn't mean this has flawed logic and some degree of craziness, this is a video game after all. I'd still recommend this if you aren't looking for a perfect anime.
I found that this side story didn't build enough of its own story to stop me from just thinking about the main series and constantly just comparing to that. The first 4 episodes were pretty uninteresting because they were trying to setup a new character background but it felt more like it was half new story, half original story. There was at least some more plot and more swordplay in the latter two-thirds of the season.
If you try to compare to the first series, this one just feels slightly off and unoriginal. But did it still have entertainment value? Yes, there were some interesting scenes, neat swordplay, and once they finally stopped repeating the original story, the story did get better.
This was such an incredibly powerful movie. Even a couple days later after watching it, I keep coming back to it, feeling like I should watch it again. Either I might’ve missed something the first time or maybe I just want to ride the roller coaster again. There’s an incredible gravity to this film just keeps trying to pull me back in. I play the scenes again and again in my head and the emotions of it all swell within me.
This was such a moving journey of bullying, self-hate, suicide, and perhaps, redemption. I will never think about the depression around me the same way, and because of this movie, I will never, ever hesitate to reach out to those around me. Just one hand can pull someone back from the brinks of despair and every life is worth it.
Skip to about the last 5-10 minutes, that's the only new info. Everything else is just recap. Technically, you will get the same information at the start of the next episode anyways.
This episode sounded like a great RPG intro.
So this is essentially their logic of how all the "clover clips" are canon in the story. It was all just a fever dream of Charmy on magical mushrooms. So it's essentially an entire episode of funny/stupid skits that usually appear at the end of the episodes. There aren't any actually useful details that add to the overall story, so if you have already seen most of the clover clips, it's not really even worth anything,
Very solid Anime. The beginning is a little rough but it does get better. It provides a neat style of magic "dueling" and the magic of the world has some interesting variety.
Edit: Coming back to say that this has turned into one of my favorite Animes. The action rarely ceases up and when it does, I still find myself fairly engrossed in the episode. I wasn't the biggest fan of the characters at the beginning, but I really do root for them now that they have trained so hard to become stronger.
Second Edit: This show really was quite good at many points and the fast paced, magical action is awesome to watch. However, the pacing can be all over the place and 20% of the episodes are pointless recap/filler. I think this show could easily reach a 9/10 if they edited the series to remove all the pointless filler and focus on the action and main story. Because of the sheer number of derailing recap episodes my rating has dropped steadily.
A fitting end to the series with every major arc come to a close. Could it have been better? Yes, almost definitely. But it still lived up to the standards that Fairy Tail has always gone with.

I actually found this season fairly interesting as an origin story for the fairy tail guild. There was of course the usual fairy tail "friendship always wins" theme, but they were some more interesting themes that fairy tail really hasn't explored before.
