I cannot watch Modern Family with my kid anymore, what the...
I don't care if Derrick tries so hard and blah, honestly - she was a major bitch, and a very low one too. When she comes for people, she come to hurt, she's seriously mean. GOOD RIDDANCE, BITCH! Go be bitter elsewhere.
This movie takes no hostages... The driving was absolutely top notch, the special effects were beyond good and although the action was relentless, it never once felt fatigued or over done. This movie delivers on all its promises. If you want a pure action flick that wastes no time, Mad Max Fury Road is it!
One of the best compliments you can give to a movie is that it takes you and wouldn't let you go before the end credits. That's what Max Mad did to me. The whole movie is so intense that my eyes were glued to the screen. The cinematography is gorgeous and make a world come to life. The main characters feel real and you can rely to them. I like it when a main characters isn't the 'invulnerable' hero, so you feel more tenses in the scenes because 'it could go wrong for him'. All this is directed in a perfect way. All of the action is filmed with a steady cam, thank god! No shaky cam but steady and wide shots which make the action scenes a real experience. I have no real faults with this film, I loved it from begin to the end. So I would recommend it for everyone who wants an awesome 2 hours.
How awesome it would've been if she had taken over the daily show instead... now can we have this daily as compensation as well? Thanks!
This is one of my absolute favourite shorts. I just want to watch this little birdie all day long!!!
Just watched the pilot and I gotta be honest, this is the best pilot of any serie I have ever watched. Can't wait for future episodes.
I haven't been this intrigued by a show in this genre since Lost & Fringe were around.
Very brutal & dark in a lot of places. Lots of questions about morality & playing God here. This show has some serious potential & I hope it only gets better as the season goes along.
I really love the casting choices for this show. Excellent performances by all. Especially Anthony Hopkins and Ed Harris. Even Trevor (Steven Ogg) from Grand Theft Auto V showed up only to get killed. Twice. Haha.
The background soundtrack was very well done & they even threw in a few different twists on modern songs into the episode that I really liked. "Black Hole Sun" on the piano & also "Paint it Black".
Fuggin' awesome.
Yup, this one's gonna be a hit. I'm already hooked & I need MORE.
Just 25 minutes in and I think Westworld could be the next Battlestar Galactica. It's more dark than the movie from the 70's. Just not sure why the engineers don't see all the crazy shit Ed Harris has been up to though. If they are always watching the robots.
Still, as a fan of the original movie, this show is pretty kick ass and I can't wait for more. The movie is pretty outdated and this show makes a great insanely awesome update. Even if all of it doesn't make complete sense so far.
"The price is on the can, though."
A conversation between two people who understand their roles (i.e., customer and cashier), but don't understand the world they live in... now that's a statement!
This show's saying things most are scared of saying but need to hear... let's have conversations about the difficult stuff guys. But most importantly let's laugh about it.
Oh--and the premise for this episode? Creative, a little heavy-handed at times, but ultimately really fun to watch.
The people that rate the episode before it's even out, I think should be deprived from their voting rights for some finite period. This is a joke. I don't understand why do they do it, is it fun or something?
The episodie page is reporting 75%, 38 watchers, 60 plays, 217 collected - and it has not been released yet...
I don't understand people anymore. I understand that there are apps an people click everything... but rating it, that must done on purpose, not by accident and it must have an intention don't know why they do it with unaired episodes -more weight to game the whole series or season ratings- I don't know but it's extremely annoying.
This episode was very good. It makes me wonder if this concept could be achieved minus the eventual murderous robots. We get a bit more backstory on Bernard and his son passing away. I think Bernard's conversation with his wife , could lead to clues as to where Westworld is at (on Earth or another planet). Stubbs is probably considered the stupidest person in-verse but he is the only character who is prepared for the host if they go crazy. There have been theories that The Man in Black is the younger white hat gentlemen but it seems that its debunked due to Dolores breaking out of programmed behavior and meeting up with the duo. Overall it's an interesting series thus far...what do you think?
Worth checking out if you liked shows like Pushing Daisies or Dead Like Me. Kristen Bell is great in this too. So good at playing a bitch lol. Yet she's a likeable one.
"If my best friend hides his farts from me then what else is he hiding from me, and why does that make me feel so alone?"
Honestly, I am just glad a movie like Swiss Army Man exists.
Coming from the directors of the "Turn Down for What" music video comes one of the weirdest films I have ever seen in my entire life. The film opens with Hank (Dano), attempting to hang himself on a stranded island, but instead ens up finding Manny's (Radcliffe) deceased corpse wash ashore. After this, Hank discovers Manny is not only just alive, but he has an array of unexplained supernatural abilities, including an "erection compass" (I shit you not), extreme flatulence, super human strength, and even more.
The film's premise is so bizarre, but it constantly manages to be relatable, no matter how crazy the movie continues to get. The film feels rewarding as you watch it, and not just based on a gimmick to show a bunch of dumb stuff happen on screen for 90 minutes. The film has an apparent purpose, and thats what makes it stand out; Beneath all the insanity, it has a lot of heart.
The cinematography is beautiful, and coupled with the score, there are many scenes in this movie which are absolutely serene
Its well acted, its genuinely hilarious, and it really will make you think at times - which was a pleasant surprise, to be honest. My only gripe with the film is that the third act (the last twenty minutes to be specific) drags on too long and the momentum is somewhat lost by the time the credits roll by.
All in all, Swiss Army Man is an extremely enjoyable film, and one that truly is memorable, especially in a time when we're constantly being plagued by sequels and unnecessary reboots.
Holy fuck, that was the funniest episodes of a TV show I've seen in recent times.
Did anybody else spot the Yul Brynner-Gunslinger cameo? Awesome!
Oh Maeve's so very clever!!! <3 her!!
this show just keeps getting better
9.7/10. I always appreciate it when SNL has standup comedians on because, unlike many other performers, standups have a clear comedic voice -- it's essentially a necessity in their line of work -- and that allows the show to have a certain clarity and focus in its perspective that makes those episodes stand out. Getting a solid set from Chappelle riffing, as he is wont to do, on the election, on racism, on the unique position of being both black and wealthy in this country, was worth the price of admission alone, and as always his insights and laughs were cathartic. His closing bit about seeing the progress this country has made, and how it prompts him to want to give Donald Trump a chance, and the hope that he'll give the historically disenfranchised a chance too, was sincere and affecting -- the perfect way to end the monologue.
The cold open was affecting too. Kate McKinnon's not the world's greatest singer, but having her sing "Hallelujah," in a way that serves as the perfect mournful epitaph for both Leonard Cohen and Hillary's 2016 campaign, was an inspired choice. It's always a bit polarizing when the comedy people get a bit serious, but the hushed, sad atmosphere of the performance worked for me.
The election, understandably, permeated a lot of the show. The sketch after the monologue, with Chappelle hanging out with a bunch of stereotypical liberals on election night, did a nice job at capturing the sort of confidence morphing into shock that a good chunk of SNL's audience experienced. And the perspective behind the sketch (aided by a cameo from another great standup comedian, Chris Rock), that the African American community wasn't shocked by this, but rather sees it as a lot of more of the same, and that there's a naivete and myopia to the coastal elite crowd experiencing this, was the kind of nice specificity you appreciate from having folks like Chappelle and Rock host the show. (And the "kids talk politics" sketch felt like a neat little coda to that.)
Politics, again as expected, played a big role on "Weekend Update" as well. Jost and Che continue to offer cutting commentary in the wake of the election. (Che's chuckle at "united" in "United States" was a nice opening touch.) And their pseudo joint monologue at the top of the show did a nice job at commenting on the election and the response to it. Bits like Jost's "women of color in the senate" montage were great, and Kate McKinnon's Ruth Bader Ginsburg is always a fun mix of political commentary, goofy dancing, and amusing insult humor.
But the show was funny even when it wasn't digging into the political side of things. The "Inside SNL" sketch was a fun, inside baseball bit. The idea of turning the criticisms of a sketch into a post-game press conference was a nice way to explore the critiques of the show, and the way it leaned into the legitimate criticisms of this cast (which, I have to admit, I myself have made) from Kyle Mooney's broadness to Leslie Jones's unpreparedness to reliance on wacky props, worked well. It was a nice way for the show to respond to those criticisms without seeming too thin-skinned about it. And despite that, I actually liked the pre-taped sketch about Leslie and Kyle dating. It had a different energy than a lot of SNL bits (and Leslie and Kyle bits for that matter), using understatement and sincerity and drawing out the comedy from the little exaggerations on the edges. A highlight to be sure.
Really, the weakest spot was the Walking Dead parody, and even that was solid! It was a thrill to see all the old Chappelle's Show characters again, but there wasn't much of a point to the sketch beyond the nostalgia factor. (Though, Tyrone Biggums's weird speech at the end was good for some laughs.) The other pure comedic sketches worked for me as well. I have to admit I groaned a bit when I realized were gearing up for another "Kate McKinnon is the last girl at the bar" sketch, but the writing of the episode ("that gave me a hard-off") and the absurdity of Kenan's bartender character finding signs of the apocalypse and handing out yellow cards, won me over. And the middle-aged dude still breastfeeding sketch is the kind of out there premise that gets a little gross, but embraces the ridiculousness of it for laughs (and Kyle Mooney's character being oddly into it was a nice touch.)
Overall, it's as strong an episode as SNL has had in what has already been a strong season. I don't know if this is the kickoff of a Dave Chappelle "comeback" as he stated in the goodnights, but if Dave can bring this level of wit, insight, and humor to television once again, I will be incredibly grateful for it.
I wanted to love this so much, but it just felt... Empty. The characters didn't connect at all and the Fantastic Beasts themselves felt like an afterthought to the franchise they're actually trying to build.
Overall a watchable movie with some charming moments but damaged by a muddy story and atrocious pacing. I expected more from the HP universe.
Not quite as fantastic as I hoped it would be... in fact at times it was downright boring. Sometimes the film falls flat, the actors (or characters) not always connecting in an interesting way. There is scope for the franchise, Newt is an interesting character but Redmayne (who I think is a great actor) played him too low key and that didn't work for me.
However, I will probably watch it again. The story gets more interesting as it progresses but not as magical as I thought it would.
AND... Johnny Depp, I love you, I really do... but gone are the days when a cameo by you in a pivotal role is a surprise, its just tired filmmaking.
I was really looking forward to this movie but was utterly disappointed. The story was just flat and didn't really connect well. At least there were a few funny moments and the soundtrack as well as effects were great. The actors were not that good and most of the story was predictable – so no surprises as with the original Harry Potter franchise.
It seems like two movies combined. One about this guy having to recover his missing pets and another about solving the mystery of what's causing chaos in New York. The two aren't particularly connected.
The result it's a fun a wonderfully magical movie that feels a little bit empty the more you think about it. I wished it was actually about Newt traveling the world discovering creatures; instead, he tells amazing stories about his travels that we never get to see.
William: Please Logan, even though I'm engaged to your sister, please help me take my sex robot home with me.
O_o <- this is my face. Totally mind blowing, Top-notch series. I was expecting some reference to FutureWorld, when It was revealed the Bernard be a duplicate of Arnold (who watched that movie, got the reference). What blown my mind even more it is the fact that Dolores murdered Arnold in the first place. When she entered the underground that scene reminded me the movie "WestWorld" after the droids killed all in the park. 10/10 Just PERFECT!!!!!
reddit did it again
Absolutely Amazing! I'm at a loss for words regarding why people dislike this movie so much. It's insane! Krampus might not be a masterpiece the way Trick 'r Treat is, but it sure ain't that far off. 9/10 - Superb!
Thanks to inspired creature effects, strong performances and a perfect balance between laughs and scares, Krampus deserves to become a perennial Christmas horror classic.
I hope Ford faked his death with a Host version of himself.
