The season is over, and it was amazing, really. But I have a thing to say. I feel it won't be as interesting for binge-watchers as it was to those who followed it live. Part of the fun (for me of course) was guessing, reading theories on reddit and twitter for a week, and then seeing them unfold in the new episode. That's something binge-watchers will not have the luxury of. On the other hand, they won't have to wait for a week either…
That's not to say the show has nothing to offer besides theorising. The cast is terrific (Anthony Hopkins obviously stands out and he is amazing), the setting is perfect, the storyline is engaging, and no Chekhov's guns are left hanging.
This show is a must.
I hope Ford faked his death with a Host version of himself.
Always pay attention to the tiny little details, because it turns out, it's was the biggest clue of all. I had a feeling that Bernard was more than just a host, but damn! So that's why they didn't show us that photograph!
The photo of logan sister is the same one abernaty found in the field.
I wonder what sort of relation logan have with this world
Typical for HBO - You'll be so shocked at the end of the episode that you'll see your own speechless expression in the reflection of your monitor during the end credits.
Really sick of Maeve and these idiot "Butchers". Are there no security cameras? Are they really that stupid?
Nothing about Maeve and especially those two clowns makes any sense. If that would be the only plot of this show, I'd have quit by now.
"Doesn't look like anything to me". Be very afraid when you hear that phrase.
Very good reveal. Whilst it doesn't surprise me that some of the park staff are themselves hosts, they did a lot to misdirect you from (but still sort of hint at) thinking Bernard was one of them. As soon as he said "what door?" shortly after explaining that hosts are programmed to not see the house at all, I think we all knew this wasn't going to end well. And with the first (or maybe second?) human casualty now confirmed, I think we're about to see things go very, very wrong.
I think Dr Ford will make a host copy to Theresa Cullen.
I don't see why they'd obey her, she had no way to force them...
anthony hopkins character is amazing his acting skills are lit AF 13/10
"Your mind is a walled garden, even death can not touch the flowers blooming there." - Dr. Robert Ford
Since the superb Episode 1, this has been quite a slow-burn, halfway through the season now. I still liked it a lot, but raising more and more questions might need quite either a full-blown firework destination or a very subversive one, so let's wait and see. Still, these have been amazingly anchored by Thandie Newton and, especially Evan Rachel Wood's fantastic performances. They get layers and layers of consciousness to play, sometimes at the same time, and execute them perferctly.
We're slowly making our way to a cohesive plot, and I'm enjoying the ride!
I really loved the scene between Ed Harris and Anthony Hopkins. Ed Harris really stole the scene here. I can't remember if these two have ever been on-screen together. It's amazing that this finally happened on TV, and not in any movies.
The orgy scene was a bit weird. It's interesting that this far out from the main town, the hosts can punch and choke the guests, though I'm sure they still can't kill them. I wonder if the hosts are able to kill the guests in the furthest areas (a.k.a. final boss round)
It's getting more and more intriguing episode by episode! Most of them are starting to... wake but still kinda lost in the where are they going with the maze and the man in black!
I guess all the robot cowboys kill each other to entertain guests but you rarely see many guests around watching. They're following stories unknown to them. Yet they're the only ones around when these stories are happening.
Still pretty intriguing show nevertheless.
Dolores - “Someday” sounds a lot like the thing people say when they actually mean “never.”
"They come back because of the subtleties, the details. They come back because they discover something they imagine no one had ever noticed before... something they've fallen in love with. They're not looking for a story that tells them who they are. They already know who they are. They're here because they want a glimpse of who they could be."
Just 25 minutes in and I think Westworld could be the next Battlestar Galactica. It's more dark than the movie from the 70's. Just not sure why the engineers don't see all the crazy shit Ed Harris has been up to though. If they are always watching the robots.
Still, as a fan of the original movie, this show is pretty kick ass and I can't wait for more. The movie is pretty outdated and this show makes a great insanely awesome update. Even if all of it doesn't make complete sense so far.
All that effort, all that hard work and love put into every tiny little aspect of the show, only for it all to be ruined by the writing.
I hope none of these wonderful people blame the backlash on their work ... imagine working for 55 nights straight for such an outcome.
The amount of time and effort put into this show are astronomical. Every member of the crew did their job perfectly except the writers.
The preponderance of circumstantial evidence in the first episode was kind of ominous and heartbreaking to see. The preponderance of exculpatory evidence for the final episode was just a bit too much for me to believe. (Not a lawyer, hoping I got those terms right).
In the end, it ends up being a fairly standard crime drama that moves at a really slow pace - something I'd normally not watch. I'll give it credit that it kept me interested and watching to the end, but all told I didn't find anything special other than Turturo.
Fantastic series overall, but I was a little let down by this episode. I'm surprised it has such a high rating.
Bit of an anticlimax in the end.
It's absolutely realistic that Naz has to change in prison and that he has to do things he doesn't want to do, but it doesn't change the fact that I like him less :/ I feel bad for feeling like this because you could see that he really was hesitating and that he didn't want to swallow the drugs. But then he was beating this one guy so badly and standing in front of the TV to provoke some guys. I guess he did these things to appear strong, but it still makes me wonder how much of this aggressiveness is faked. Maybe he did kill the girl? I'm not sure what to believe anymore...
i swear at this point if those motherfucking feet aren't somehow detrimental to the plot, i'm gonna put my head through the wall. if they are, i'm still gonna do it, because what the flying fuck.
also wait so naz took some adderall and suddenly he's not a 'good boy' anymore? okaaay..
