Tities!! Astonished to see some knowing how prude US have become now
And the oscar goes to...Jessica Biels
Even after almost 80 years, The Most Dangerous Game still holds-up. The lighting, design, and cinematography all contribute to an effetively creepy mood. The performances are adequate-not stellar, but not so far over the top as to be off-putting. Highly recommended.
Back. When horror films were actually fun to watch.
the fight between Godzilla and King Kong was nothing special, but it was still great to see the 2 most iconic monsters duking it out. despite popular belief there are not 2 different endings, its the same ending in Japan and America
Amazing, super realistic special effects aside, this movie is very good.
Unlike many of the sequels, remakes, and parodies, this one takes itself pretty seriously. I know everyone points it out, but if you didn't know already, this movie is about nuclear repercussions. I think this makes for a really good reaction to the current state of it all back in 1954.
When you see something so obviously dangerous, you react more than just some Bill Nigh the Science Guy talking about the danger. The story makes for a great vessel of how to discuss safety as a society.
The general plot also involves pretty good character relationships, and how they all feel this Godzilla guy should be stopped. I like seeing the need to stop Godzilla, but also the uneasiness of killing Godzilla. When is it okay to kill an animal doing as it is bred to do?
I'd say whenever it is going on a deadly rampage.
The Forgotten Sequel made to the Original King Kong. It touches on the aftermath of Kong's rampage and Denham be sued for damages. He ends up needing to escape from New York. There is a very awkward relationship Between Denham and Helene.
There's something wrong with this community that has this one rated lower than the Peter Jackson debacle.
Well, wasn't expecting much but it was very entertaining (a fast pacing story, funny situations, a good dose of action and characters that feel real even if a they are sometimes a little too stereotypical), although the flick and its outcome is a little predictable and cheesy. None the less you could spend your time much worse than by watching Mel Gibson in Get The Gringo!
Gibson, for all his offscreen controversy, still has his star-quality charism and shows it off in Get the Gringo.
It's invigorating in its disreputability; it's both cheesy and striking, corny and bold, dismissible and yet strangely appealing for its singularity.
Ok. I admit it. I missed Mel. Good to see him back in fine form. But he is still a schmuck offscreen.
A Stephen King and Stephen Spielberg Mix in the style of an 80s show. Beautifully played by every actor, the soundtrack is always on point, beautiful colours, beautiful dialogues. Amazing show. Well made, Netflix!
Overall pretty awesome show. The music is always on point, the child actors are amazing and the story is interesting and captivating start to finish.
Would love a second season be it a sequel to this or maybe an anthology series a la Fargo.
So at least the deaths are creative and interesting to watch. That being said, everythingelse about this show isn't worth it. The characters are cardboard, the plot is just as flat. It's something to watch when you want to have something in the background but don't really care to give it your full attention.
The first season is kind of boring.
But the second season is surprising me. In a good way.
Not terrible but not exactly great either. Far too reliant on jump scares to the detriment of the atmosphere. Every time the tension would start to build it would get cut far too short by one of the jump scares. Less would have been so much more in this particular case. Still, not a bad rental if you're up to some Insidious brand fun.
The Chapter 3 is really "needed" to understand the history of the medium lady(Elise). The end was really scary such as the whole film. That part in the theather was awesome! If you saw Chapter 1 & 2 - you can't loose this one! Waiting for chapter 4 ;-)
One of the best from Michael Bay. Since it's not all about explosions and is a pretty good movies about clones.
Concept vehicles, concept future world, concept cloning. Watched it for ScarJo and I was happy.
The thing I love about this film is that it doesn't do scares for the sake of them. Everything felt fresh and real. And the world the story opens up in the third act is phenomenal and gives life to all the small details in the first 2 acts that other films lack. I was genuinely jumping in my seat and the 'Tiptoe Through The Tulips' theme was delightfully creepy. After just seeing the third instalment, it was nice to revisit the first however nothing beats not knowing the very end unfortunately. Worth it for the second one which I'm looking forward to watching again soon!
The movie didn't had any vulgar scenes, any hot chick or anything that usual horror movies does, but it worked for me nonetheless.
Instead it has a freaky environment, good actor performance - I also watched part 2 and I think this one here's a lot better!
One of my favourite films in general. Too many people think a horror/thriller can only be scary, which is dumb. It's allowed to have a story too. In this case the story is so good that the creators were confident enough to add some comic relief, and it worked.. really well.
After seeing the second chapter of Insidious, I can honestly say this franchise is only 1 film away from being the perfect trilogy. James Wan and Leigh Whannell are just too talented for their own good. Brilliant movie.
BOY! This was a little bit weird, but it was a great horror film! I had a lot of fun watching it!
An alien that transforms into a woman to abduct people, then turn them into creepy dwarfs to be used as slaves in his home planet is weird but surely it is an original story.
The acting, a little bit forced sometimes, and the special effects might not be the greatest things but the atmosphere is great and the plot make it be a fantastic classic horror!
spoiler ahead
We all have bizarre nightmares... The film looks a little messy sometimes but at the end everything makes sense. Sometimes things in our dreams are confused and don't make a lot of sense. All of our fears and frustations are always present in our mind when we dream about something bad and I think that's what this film is trying to pass through.
There are some effective creepy moments at times and the film is competently acted and directed, with some atmospheric cinematography and a story from the original creator. Yet the original film was effectively a closed story with nowhere to go and the film can do very little except repeat elements from the first film. So we have the initial tragic event to set the scene for the protagonist, the journey to the haunted house that is drenched in atmosphere, the central heroine discovering elements of the backstory that audiences are already aware of and slight variations on scenes to create those jump moments that were so effective in the original. The film is heavily reliant on sudden bursts of volume to shock, though there are one or two scenes that work as well as the first did visually, but generally the film obeys the laws of diminishing returns on horror sequels. Not as bad as it could have been, but still largely unnecessary.
WOW!!! Intense!!!
This is my very favorite anime. I am so glad the author didn't stop writing it. I will literally cry after this finishes. But this anime has everything. It's so addictive that you look forward to each episode. It has action. Romance a bit. But it's amazing the work is good to. I recommend anyone who likes fantasy to watch it.
love it! but the resolution of the hybird really sucks :(
this anime is good.. watch it.. cause even though I don't like mechanical anime.. its awesome and I am loving it.. :D
One of the best compliments you can give to a movie is that it takes you and wouldn't let you go before the end credits. That's what Max Mad did to me. The whole movie is so intense that my eyes were glued to the screen. The cinematography is gorgeous and make a world come to life. The main characters feel real and you can rely to them. I like it when a main characters isn't the 'invulnerable' hero, so you feel more tenses in the scenes because 'it could go wrong for him'. All this is directed in a perfect way. All of the action is filmed with a steady cam, thank god! No shaky cam but steady and wide shots which make the action scenes a real experience. I have no real faults with this film, I loved it from begin to the end. So I would recommend it for everyone who wants an awesome 2 hours.
I had no exceptions when I walked into the cinema, but I walked out content and happy. Charlize Theron is a sight for sore eyes even when she's tuff and hard. A movie that should be seen in cinemas, great action throughout the movie.
