Please don't suck, please don't suck, please don't suck...
Terrible show you want so badly to be good. The writing is so lazy and cheap. Cliffhanger tactics to keep people watching.
I was close to stop watching the show after the first three episodes. Everyone seemed to be a self-absorbed rich asshole, the show itself seemed to be going nowhere. But I'm so glad I didn't stop watching. Episode five was the first one where I thought "Oh, maybe it isn't so bad after all." It only improved afterwards. With all the schemes, backstabbing, and generally horrible people it's basically Game of Thrones set in 2018 New York. Succession is probably the best show on TV at the moment. I can't wait for season two.
This has a great premise and the possibility of being a great show, but if the Brits were doing it they'd make it spectacular and in 8 episodes or less. This is a typical American "how-can-we-drag-a-short-story-into-5-season-before-killing-it-unexpectedly” show waiting to happen. I want to love it, but it just drags on and on. 6/10
Update - someone put a bullet in the back of it's head... about 4 episodes too late. Painfull to watch the further along it went.
I don't understand why everyone likes this show so much, it was really bad I just wanted each episode to end. Their was no suspense at all yet rotten tomatoes gave it a 95% really, it was trash just garbage the acting the fight all lame. So can some one explain to me why everyone likes it so much?
Characters that didn't have any logic. Annoying rebellious acts for no apparent reasons. "Wise" elder characters who bicker and are useless. Story line was inexcusably weak, character development was pathetic, and it was altogether a bad show. Original Airbender was good, this was not. Teen drama crap.
Definitely worth watching. Starts out slow and carries on that way for a while, but definitely picks up after around 10 episodes. Has great character and plot development as a result. Really interesting to think about and to watch. Would recommend highly.
Horrible show. I've watched 6 episodes and I found the show to be very shallow. It's just Brian under NZT solving cases and people being amazed because he can do everything.
@Pezberrys @Dontfreakouttt Why are you even on this page if you hate it so much? You do know there's pretty much EVERY other T.V. show on this site? Go to one you enjoy?
It's the story that matters: how it's told, how it's interpreted and nothing else. The skin colour of the actors is just that, a colour. I've watched films with Jesus being interpreted by a white man with blue eyes, when Jesus was middle Eastern, with darker skin and most probably dark brown eyes. Still, if the story is good, that should not matter.
Well, after finishing it is a very very mediocre show, full of cliches nothing original even the way he left and what happened. I really don't understand, was the book so good to make a TV show out of it ?
Only if you are a truly fan of Jennifer.
[Update below] What an unexpected treasure! Pure fantasy, but beautifully crafted. Characters you fall in love with, both flawed and innocent. The antithesis of an apocalyptic tale. Man still wreaks destruction yet in this movie nature recaptures the world. It is about hope. The central character is superbly cast and young Christian Covery wins our hearts. I highly recommend you get past any mental block you have against fantasy. This series is so good. I give this series an 8 (very good) out of 10. I hope Netflix renews it for other seasons, the season finale certainly gave us many paths to still walk down. [Fantasy Drama]
Season 3 was disappointing. Even Fantasy has to have some touch points to reality and this dystopian tale defied the limitations of their environment - no limit to energy, fuel, food. Maybe if we hadn’t had a COVID pandemic and saw, first hand, the impact on the supply chain of goods, this might have been overlooked. A ship that can navigate difficult passages without a crew. The last episode really crashes the credibility - the bad guys “following” the good guys through perils that were too dangerous for 3 let alone a gang of thugs blundering along. I was particularly off put by the forced “ethic” of the season. Real questions were asked but the answers were muddled and flawed. The acting was great. The cast has been solid through the series. They just needed better writing in this final kick at the can. I’d highly recommend the first two seasons if you like fantasy but the last season doesn’t add anything. I give the 3rd season a 6 (disappointing). I gave seasons 1 & 2 of this series an 8 (very imaginative) out of 10.
If this is anything like The Good Wife then we are in for a hell of a series, can't wait!
Just an overly violent show about a bunch of predictable and horrible one-dimensional characters where the suspension of reality is constantly needed to push the story along. If Tim McGraw's Dutton knew this was how his offspring would turn out he'd have ended the family line in 1883.
Another take. It's like Dallas but with no one as likeable as Patrick Duffy.
I just don't like Taron Egerton at all, he's smarmy to me and feels like he just wants you to know how superiorly jacked he is. Even his walk is the over exaggerated "I'm so muscular I have to wobble and hold my arms 5 feet away" kind of bone-head gym guy you hate to work out next to.
That being said, he does a good job in this, I cannot deny that. It's an obscure "mostly true" story. The real star is Paul Walter, not only does he look like a dead ringer for the guy he portrays but he really pulls off mentally challenged and creepy in a superior way.
Can I pretty please get a Kate & Yelena series? Their chemistry is by far the best part of this show. Loved it.
A wonderful mini-series with constant twists in the storyline. It's easy to get carried away emotionally.
An amazing landscape and a beautiful Iina Kuustonen got me into this series.
The first episodes were fairly decent too, but then cheap drama and irrational characters prevailed to make one forget about the very boring and barely existent plot. Just ignore that this series exists.
Just one of those many many shows that keep suspense at an all time high level with many stupid characters doing stupid things all the time.
Their relation is pretty much only about them pitying each other and being impressed by the resolve of the other.
On top of that there are silly and/or brutal actions, with frequent lecturing about how people are doomed.
Shame, this could have been a lot better.
Since the initial episodes, this series became highly favoured TV for me and I have now placed it in my top 40 list. THE GOOD FIGHT began by co-opting the creme du la creme talent of THE GOOD WIFE: Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo, and then added another talented Brit, Rose Leslie, to the core cast. With great writing and the first season casting of some tried and true talent: Paul Guilfoyle and Bernadette Peters, it was off to a great start. Although I thought THE GOOD WIFE faded away and needed to end, this series was a Phoenix rising from the ashes. I initially gave it an 8 (superb) out of 10, expecting it to rise. The second season was 9s (superb) all the way, so, now, at the end of season 2, I'm giving the whole series a 10 (best television) rating out of 10 [Legal Drama] If you haven't seen any of it, I highly recommend this as one of your summer binges!
Suddenly my new-favorite-drama (not anymore:sob:) became shit. The last 2 episodes ruined everything... was so unfair, so unnecessary and no sense. It hurts.
During the whole show Jiho was kinda sincere about how she felt (not always, sometimes were so immature...) but now she's so cruel... how can you leave somebody for so long and came back like nothing happen?
Was that cliché really necessary? Why Koreans think about love as something unconditional and everlasting? You can leave me for years and I still love you? You can hurt me and nothing happen? There is not consequences? Is okay to hurt somebody just because "you love him"? Just because you "wanna know what you want"? You cannot just talk as human beings? As adults?
Those chapters weren't a good idea. They don't work, not with the history we saw the first 13 episodes. So unfair... I'm so sad.
This show have an important message for korean society, at the beginning feminism was clearly present... and it also was so funny. WAS SO STRONG WITH IT PRINCIPLES. SO CRITICAL BUT FUNNY AT THE SAME TIME. WHY YOU HAD TO RUINED IT?????? WHYYY
...
and somebody doesn't know how to use properly shows' soundtrack. You cannot play lalalala song during the most sadness scene, you f*ck1ng 1di0t.
I'm all for strong women and lead characters. And Kate obviously is intelligent, very experienced and knowledgeable.
So why in hell is this show, made by two women, portraying this character as some emotional and irrational wreck whenever Hal or Austin are involved?
She immediately expects the worst, rarely listens when they express their motivation and her first instinct always is to run first and then to follow up with some drama.
Or in other words: Everything you could possibly do wrong as a diplomat.
This series began so strong and there is still lots to like but this part is increasingly ruining my experience.
A good first season but the second one is just about characters failing to express themselves and switching allegiances.
It wasn't as bad as Luke Cage, but Iron First certainly isn't a good show without flaws either ... heh, actually my average episode rating is 5.615.
My biggest problem: Danny certainly isn't the smartest cookie in the world.
But he actually had pretty much nothing else to offer either, besides his problem with using his head just once.
Fighting? - Even here his character was annoying as ****. And Colleen was a much bigger joy to watch.
The craziest part though is that Ward, of all options, was by far the most interesting character, with the most interesting development and, compared to others, his decisions made actually sense from his perspective. Sometimes.
I still can't believe how shitty this show is. Luke Cage was actually a promising character in Jessica Jones, his show though ... ugh.
How I despise this product is best summed up by the character Misty Knight. When Luke & her meet the very first time it once again seems very promising ... just to fall apart beyond recognition for the rest of the season.
Follow the story and imagine what stupid / unprofessional / emotional reaction the character could make in the worst case and the most idiotic reasoning she might give to explain it ... and she will surpass your nightmares regularly!
I don't know if I should credit Simone Missick for great or terrible acting, because she tremendously adds to the painful experience. If that was intentional: Amazing job!
You might think now that I have specific problem with her and her character, but far from it. She just is my "highlight". Besides Rosario Dawson and some other minor characters, nobody achieves a C rating.
And the story, in every single detail, can only be considered a travesty.
Just finished watching... I'm honestly so sad
Wachted the first two episodes and dropped the series. Months later I tried another two episodes and ... nope, I don't see any appeal or quality here.
.
Selfrighteous assholes and murderers everywhere. Heck, they even seem to enjoy harming each other most within the family- Not a single character I'd respect AND like. I'd rather spend a year with the characters of Succession than a day with those of Yellowstone.
I think I’ve fallen in love with Korean Romantic Dramas! This is the third I’ve watched this month and I’m looking for a fourth when I’m finished writing this review. Fortunately, Netflix has a great deal of them.
This series started off slow for me, mainly because the two main characters have dramatic character arcs and they start off in a very different place than they end up. Where they end up is predictable but the journey is nuanced and well written. The leads were well cast and well performed, you kind of gradually fall in love with each of them through their journey, not just to one another, but to themselves. In many ways this is an ensemble story, about a community where each have wonderfully well written, unique character arcs. The acting is very good. There are moments of loss that break even the hardest heart and moments of joy that sweep you up in the moment. The setting is spectacularly beautiful, really almost a character in itself. I started off giving the episodes a cautious 6 or 7, but the last 3 episodes are solid 10s. I give the whole series a 9 (superb story telling) out of 10. [Romantic Drama]
