Jeez, the snowflaky reactions of straight white men because not every single episode and narrative centres them - anything deviating from that priority is apparently "woke". Get over yourselves, you egomaniacal bigots.
Anyway, another great episode that nicely expanded Ellie's backstory - bonus points for the Mortal Kombat II appreciation, too :nerd:
Why not cast Grant Gustin for the part? He is definitely the greatest Barry Allen ever, and a great young actor!
Edit 2022: OK, Ezra, move aside, it's Grant's turn!
I do not deny Ezra was good too, and that the last seasons of Flash have been week sauce (I do agree that most baddies are converted to good after a nice speech, nonetheless I'll keep watching it till the end, I'm that kind of viewer...), but Grant is an established Flash, great actor and apparently a calmer human being than Ezra at the moment. :P
Sorry, I'm team Grant! :)
Anime-onlys, are you alright guys?) We been there it's confusing, but kinda awesome.
Just in case, if anybody actually confused with how exactly Grisha saw Zeke. Grisha simultaneously saw the scene in the basement through Eren's eyes and his own. That's why he saw only Zeke and not Eren. He couldn't see Eren in the person. He could see himself through Eren's eyes. That's why Eren was always behind Grisha, in the moments when Grisha did looked at Zeke. Like with Frieda in the mirror back in season 3 or ch. 53

And yes, incredibly enough in the 1st episode of season 1 or in ch.1 Grisha wasn't looking at young Eren when he talked about the basement. This small detail was already there all this years ago, back in 2009!!!

So, neither Zeke nor Eren were physically* there.
They couldn't change the past either. It's more like self-fulfilling prophecy. Like Terminator's plot (first one) if you will. They couldn't say or do anything that would have gave them a different outcome. Or else they wouldn't be there in the first place. Or alternatively they only were there, because this specific plotline happened and that specific plotline happened this way, because they were there at the time. Chicken or the egg - type of situation.
*Nobody freaking knows how the hell hug worked... I guess they both hugged air or old excuse of "paths working in the mysterious ways". Hell, maybe anime would give us a more concrete answer... in the future?
I have been looking forward to this anime adaptation for the past 6 years now.
So far, I'm not disappointed. At first glance, the visual style seems quite different from that of the Webtoon, but after re-reading the first few pages of the Webtoon, I realize that the style is actually quite similar.
I find it quite clever to have adapted a short sequence from the Ants arc as an introduction, and also to have shown a little of the future characters. This plunges us straight into the lore and story of Solo Leveling, without having to wait several episodes to get there (as is the case in the Webtoon).
So far, the fights are very well animated (which usually means they've put some budget into them, and are trying to adapt it well).
The music sounds good but nothing outstanding, so I'll wait for the next episodes to determine the quality of the music.
In any case, I thought it was a superb first episode, they adapted the Webtoon style very well to transpose it to the visual format.
I'm very glad the anime wasn't censored.
I hope that future episodes will continue in this direction until the end of the first season.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the webtoon and still aren't convinced, wait until you watch the next episode, which will get you into the spirit of the show. You'll get real goose bumps, believe me.
The animations in this anime are just pure gorgeous. Every single shot is better than the last one. But what's with the ending? A blonde drinking raw milk from a monster's arm wasn't enough for the producers I think so they just switched to a make-out scene :skull:
What an impressive movie: so many touching scenes and beautiful details.
I usually don't look Bollywood-movies, but this one is going for the top!
This is bloody brilliant:fire::fire::fire:.... I didn't expect this from a Indian series with Bollywood actors... Episode 1 was lit...Looking forward to upcoming episodes
Ok someone has to say it, the goofy dancing, the serious faces, the music ... those title credits are the best of every episode ... I love them!
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I'm really enjoying how toned down the violence is, because it really grounds the experience. Yeeting him off a second story catwalk and onto rebar is spectacle, but a simple stab wound in a quiet encounter really drives home how high the stakes are when the violence is so mundane. When it comes without spectacle or massive budgets. It reminds people of what violence actually is and forces them to connect with the intimacy of it, and I think this is something that's been a long time coming. I'm not the type to blame media for society's ills, but I do believe it could be doing more to impress upon people the consequences and nuance of violence, and The Last Of Us is a masterclass in this kind of storytelling.
Perfect, no notes. Quentin Tarantino wishes he could make a movie this good.
A horny cartoon A.I.
Now I've seen it all.
How did those looking after Jugo survive that long taking care of him without knowing he was a man-eater?
EREN JAEGER!!!! (We also got a glimpse of him in Episode 2 but of course it totally went over my head at the time)
Ever since they mentioned the plan to go back to Paradis island in the previous episodes, I kept thinking what will they find there? I mean, it is not like Eren and the rest are just idly waiting around… So it seems the tables have turned and this time our heroes’ infiltrated the warriors’ side.
(There was also a scene at the end of the 1st episode, where we see a shot of a guy holding a newspaper. It is more than obvious now that he is another member of the scouts as well.)
The storytelling is great, we get to relive the events from a different perspective and I can only imagine this will make things harder for the viewers when the clash happens given that now we have information from both sides and how they came to be.
The way the little titans start running is freaking funny :joy:
Serves you right, Reiner. Sayonara. Bitch.
Hopefully...
The story wasn't too bad but man couldn't they have given the actors better dialogue? I wanted to rip my hair out so many times. The actors themselves seemed like they were trying the best they could with what they were given.
Also the whole show felt like they were trying to capitalize on the whole Korea trend right now. It felt like they were trying to make a kdrama but more American and they only made it feel awkward.
I have a lot of criticisms but none of them can be worse than the fact that Kitty lived in Korea for a semester and yet still didn't know Korean by the end. They barely touched upon Korean culture; it felt like they just said stuff about Kitty's mum rather than show us stuff; the writing was sloppy; it was so cliche; the characters acted weirdly like why burn the picture of your friend if nothing happened between you . Overall it was a fun watch, but only because I went in with zero expectations
The ending took me by surprise:flushed:. It came out of nowhere. So you are telling me that all this time Tokyo was a girl? And while I didn't understand it when she vomited in the last episode, now that I think about it, could she be pregnant?? This is getting so confusing. And why do many children look the same?? I have a feeling something huge is gonna happen in upcoming episodes. I'm sure of it. There are so many plot twists. I'm really excited for the next episode :blue_heart: :blue_heart: :blue_heart:
At the start of Anime: Why is Mash so weird? Who does things like this??
While watching episode 05: Why are all the characters are so weird except Mash? :joy:
I'm just surprised that they haven't shot each other while killing those little aliens because their way to shoot is just so hilarious :joy::joy::joy:
A Christopher Nolan movie about Albert Einstein's theories of gravity fields, wormholes and several hypotheses :O :O :O
Yaaaahoooooooo - I CAN NOT WAIT!
Just throw logic out the window and enjoy the film as it is. Lots of religious symbolism and torture sequences. But really well made. Amazing cinematography minus the obligatory flying fight scenes. Some hilarious scenes and very clean no vulgarity.
This is such a good show. One of the best shows i've seen this year. I really like how everything is coming together & I'm really happy about old lady. Her bastard husband is finally dead and she is free....
I've never hated a fictional character as much i hate Moon's mother. If I were in her place, I would burn her alive ngl...
I want them dead so badly. I hope they suffer before their death....
As someone who has never played the game, this finale was 80/100 i guess... I mean it was good but something was missing....maybe more zombies...idk maybe some drama. Overall, I'm definitely looking forward towards 2nd season...
"THERE ARE MANY
ENDINGS BUT THE RIGHT ONE IS THE ONE
YOU CHOOSE"

I don't think that any show will ever be able to give us a better ending than this one just did, but I hope that they all try. Because this one was just phenomenal and hit on all of the timey-wimey and character points that the show has always been good at hitting. Everyone who needed a shot at redemption got it and nailed it. Well, except for Olivia, but we knew that all along, pretty much. (But even there, her bones served a purpose.) And perhaps most importantly, everyone got an ending. Or the beginnings of endings. And happy ones, at that.
Two nice touches that I really appreciated: (1)
They didn't actually show Cassie hitting the Big Red Button, so we don't know for sure if she did.
The results either way are similar, but also different in terms of where Cole ended up. I choose to believe that Cole ended up in the same new timeline as the "real" others. (2) As it clung by a thread to a tree limb, that red (.) leaf that the camera panned to so that it could lead us out of the show at the very end was perfectly symbolic of all living things having an ending.
Cassie and Cole and the others have one life now. Free will over destiny. Do it right or go home. No do-overs. The way that it should be.
