The visuals and aesthetics were great in this as well as the kinetic animation style but the story massively leaves you hanging the twist is already hinted at from the get go anyways.
I cannot help but think this episode was made to bait people into start/continue watching if it were perceived positively because this is not the format for it nor should something like this be made this early into a show.
While I liked the first 10 minutes and the duo of Cristin Milioti and Jake Johnson it just quickly turned into "cringe" as there was a major disconnect between what they wanted to tell and how they went about it in a video game context....
A good point to drop this show tho.
How does one manage to make "action" scenes boring? Adapt a light-novel about a FPS apparently. And as it should be for SAO the seemingly incompetent girl is famous and a Mary Sue.
Lot's of lazy at display here and quite a shitty battle... this is SAO alright.
I'm not against harems but this felt really bottom barrel. Bland visuals, unfunny jokes, and a mindless waifu already. /dropped
Ehhh.. really, killing of the cat like that? Seems like a jerk move placed at an unbelievable moment.
This was really uninspired; be it comedy, fanservice or action (break, break... tune, tune, tune... bleh, bleh HHaaAAAaaA). No idea why they wanted to publish and adapt a work they themselves saw as subpar... Here is hoping that the computer device brings a decent story along with it.
Looks like there is another solid show at start. The cast looks interesting and the manga's reception hasn't been bad either. The rakugo parts were done quite well with the seiyuu's getting their time to shine. It's a Josei so it might not be everyone's cup of tea.
This first episode is a merge of the two OVAs clocking at 45 minutes (OVA1 being 45 minutes, OVA2 being 35 minutes).
Ugh, how does this even get a second season??
Also a great job setting up the killer: the-otherwise-not-relevant-character-getting-too-much-screentime certainly is a surprise #hashtagyourmetahumorsucks.
Hello you holy ray of light, how about you fuck off? The censoreship will ruin the show as it progresses!
J.C. Staff did a decent job with the look of the show keeping the shading similar to the manga. The VA are also good matches (Hana by Kana <3).
I like the absurd (immature) goofieness of the story so I'm happy either way.
The mystery... 8ft(!!) below the surface...
Terrible acting, unnatural dialogue and a stupid story to boot. "100s" died in the lake and somehow it takes the ghost of their dead teenage son to get the father back to the lake when they had a vacation home there all along?
I feared this show would be terrible given it's prototype isekai status (or so I'm told) but the key visuals looked quite enticing so I took the "risk" regardless. Now three episodes I'm positively surprised at the comfy fantasy quality the show has going on (alongside the pretty visuals). And while the pervy side of Rudy is slightly off-putting at times it still serves as a reminder that this guy was a hardcore hiki before he was reincarnated and it's nice to see him actually still dealing with his past where as in most other shows in the genre the setup is just the means for self-insert.
Oh, now here comes the edge... up to 999% of what Japanese TV allows huuh. While I'm not opposed to fucked up shit I didn't really care for how sleazy they presented some of the -well- hentai scenes (eg. her fingering herself was decidedly fetishized with a see through shot). Also, was the best plan you could come up with really to let yourself be drugged up and abused until you've come to your senses again? Still, this seems like I ride to take just to be "in" with the drama - already canceled in Germany o/.
And if anyone wonders; uncensored is indeed quite raunchy but also the only way if you don't want to watch an audio drama (is a shot of crooked fingers with a black tint really too much?)...
If it weren't for MAPPA at helm I would have dropped this like three times already... At least the show doesn't take it's fake drama serious either. An upcoming tournament arc and one-note upperclassmen getting introduced doesn't really get me any more excited really.
I mean this was already a lame sitcom but this episode felt like a further dip in quality. Do they even remember their premise...
Mhhh ... while this flashback was certainly coming I found it rather disappointing. It did little for the characterization of the friend group and just served as a convenient way to provide the backstory... It also doesn't really fit into the picture of how everyone behaves in the present.
Aerobics master Kirito-sama VS physics...
...earth never stood a chance.
Tfw terrible OP. Just like every new AoT season I keep wondering why they don't actually use their time and money to good use...
What a waste of time. This is one of many episodes in the show where the gadget is mainly a plot device and gets very little afterthought but unlike others there is no new idea at play here to make it passable. This is just an underdeveloped clichéd drama.
Going to be the contrarian here but I was bored out of my mind. This is not why I am watching Black Mirror and with the way it was unfolding it didn't really connect with me at all. Mackenzie Davis was also a misscast for me as it's a bit too on the nose considering her role on "Halt and Catch Fire".
Shit, now I want more Hoozuki :(. The Asahi building getting crushed was hilarious :).
Part A had a nice reversal but that's about it. The spider thread "motive" is pretentious from out of nowhere... The timeskip with no explanation as to how he survived or what happened exactly was also quite lame (one would expect his time travel ability to set in..). All in all another episode not carried by the presentation.
And now we are resorting to totally nonsensical drama...
Group tentacle rape seems very fitting for the series finale.
The Tokyo MX station, Yahoo! TV Japan, and other Japanese television schedules are listing episode 9 of the God Eater anime on September 27 as the final television episode. The end of the television run does not preclude plans for the anime in another format or medium. The new anime Comet Lucifer will take over God Eater's 10:30 p.m. timeslot on October 4.
The God Eater anime premiered in August, and four "Extra" episode have so far pre-empted regular episodes that were previously scheduled.
As if being a mediocre show wasn't enough. I'm certain that unlike Blood Brigade they won't even bother to find a slot to air the remaining episodes.
To quote the title card: a super-energetic, hot 5-year-old.
I'm sure this little shota boy is also only here to help fujoshi sleep. At least they didn't expose his belly button :o...
Oh wow, they certainly are pushing it. After last weeks excess of pussy juice we're onto tutorials for home made lube, vibrators and fleshlights (the ED even features the live-action version).
Is this filler also in the manga? Seems odd that currently there is 0 threat to be seen... we're more on the level of the OVA episodes somehow.
Not that I dislike the show but is it really going to be another cour of just status quo? I mean it has been further than 99% of anime romances but only by an inch...
Not that I exected much of this (just checked it out because it's short) but the quality has already worsen and it isn't remotly funny. Showing nipples is likely all they set out to do.
