Puked a little in my mouth when I saw Fish Mooney, all dead and still wearing perfect make up, about to be resurrected. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. This was a good season so far.
Pulaski is the Jar Jar Binks of the Star Trek universe. No doubt about that.
Quite an unpleasant mess. Devinoni seems to be one step away from a full on rapist with his horrifically strong approach to "courting" Troi, besides just being a slimy and arrogant person. It felt out of character for the show. We do get to see a side of Deanna that's rarely shown to us, but it's not worth it in this context. The classic Crusher/Troi exercise scene is of course funny and over-the-top.
The Ferengi are a fun addition to the episode, even though they hadn't developed to their full potential by this point all the seeds are there. Picard's exasperation with them is easy to laugh at. If I recall, we will meet the lost Ferengi again in the Delta quadrant at some point in Voyager.
I think Riker wins best moment of the episode, though, his heart-to-heart about Deanna is a great moment, and he really wins the little confrontation.
Ah yes, yet another galaxy spanning extinction like event that Space Jesus will solve
What am an eagle. No you’re Hawk. Or at least used to be. LOL
One of the things I enjoy the most about Lower Decks is that, while it being a Star Trek series, it carelessly makes fun of Star Trek's clichés and silly things that have been part of the whole franchise throughout the years. This episode was particularly good at that. 'Twas a lot of fun!
I love Hera so much. I wish there had been more characters like her when I was a kid.
My investment in this season is dwindling. It started off semi-strong. Now, each episode feels like a chore to get through.
Have you tried switching it off and on again?
Really? They didn't call the feds because the bad guys could have stopped their activities and no one else in town would have died?
MODERATION EDIT: Be respectful.
When Legion cross with Moon Knight world?
Smith is just getting so annoying to watch, she's ruining the show for me she is always able to escape everything and I hate her whole act, and acting. Hope they kill her off the show soon so I can start enjoying it more. She should have ended in season 1
This show is so good and so shitty at the same time. When they start doing stuff it's awesome. But first they have to talk. Then talk about talking. Then they have to lie to each other. Then they have to leave the new Titans behind, again. What a sucky team they've made so far. Of course they always have to leave Rachael behind because she might just whip the bad guys.
I'm surprised why they didn't just shut off the program, when they went into the holodeck to locate Geordie, instead of searching through the simulated landscape. Seemed a bit inefficient.
Let's put the most important thing in the world in this low security room that anyone can access, with no guards and a glass door so everyone can see it. What could possibly go wrong?
Is it surprising that an episode without Fish Mooney is one of the better episodes?
So, we're just supposed to gloss over the fact that they were breathing and talking while outside their ship, in outer space ? And what about the fact he was standing on the outside of his X-wing while it engaged it's hyperdrive .... LOL
Great episode, great writing. I hope the next episode will be on par.
How convenient that a completely alien species that communicates through strobe lights also just so happens to have a 26-based alphabet, which directly translates to-and-from English .
That really was a close one.
Another filler episode... Just stick to the main story line.
I dialed the phone number on the Q calling card and got to listen to a cute little Q voicemail message. But then I started wondering: was there a point to remotely 3D printing the card? Why not just continue using that nice curved ultra-wide monitor to display the phone number or whatever other data?
(If you want to call the number, it was 323-634-5667)
This was refreshing especially the latter half compared to last week's wedding episode which to me felt like the low point of not just this show but all the MCU series so far, and I know many who share the same sentiment.
This one didn't exactly start strong with all the cringy texting stuff and honesty I was half expecting yet another terrible episode back-to-back and thankfully it wasn't.
The whole therapy sequence was heartwarming and while there wasn't much if any action it was enjoyable and funny at times. 7/10.
Great episode! I got chills. Good memories. Thanks. Well done special guest stars! 10/10
My favourite episode yet. Very emotional
Excellent scene with Goran and Sakina
Well, that was a ride. The episode draws from a huge amount of Trek backstory and crafts something bursting with emotion. I think that the the view of Picard's face lining up with the classic image of Locutus is one of the most arresting shots ever done in Star Trek.
Patrick Stewart is completely on form throughout, and it's hard to pick one singular moment that stood above the rest. From his anger about the Borg while speaking with Agnes, to his PTSD when first arriving on the Cube, to his genuine happiness at seeing Hugh again and all the work he's doing, this consistently feels like the Jean-Luc Picard we all knew. He's shown first hand that disconnected Borg are not the monsters he had assumed. Small bursts of moments from First Contact were used effectively, including an unexpected glimpse dof the Queen. The terror of what he experienced may never fully go away despite the strides we saw him make over the years, and it rings true.
Other random thoughts:
It was a great adaptation and the bumping with Lee Child by the end of the episode when Reacher gets back to meet with Finlay is a great touch.
Let's get that Season 2 ready...
Poor writing and story arc can't be wiped away by 10 minutes of flashy combat scenes.
The way the covenant planted that girl was the most obviously sus shit ever, lol.
Loving the Pakistani stuff but the punching and kicking is a bit lame
