Hastings should castrated and chucked out an airlock.
I was a little disappointed that they redshirted Dave "Bam Bam" Baumgardner so quickly like that. I may not have liked the way he ended up being added to the team, but he seemed like a good guy; would've been cool to see him and Wyatt cooperating in all the anti-Rittenhouse madness coming up, but... sigh. Oh, well.
Other than that, great stuff. They seem to be getting better at involving the "locals" in creative ways: Hemingway can be a jerk, but he was a good jerk, and Baker was just brilliant...
I'll probably never be on board with how the writers handled Jane Leeves' pregnancy by creating Daphne's eating disorder out of thin air, but I sincerely hope that it's addressed later. Sending Daphne off to a health spa and then pretending that nothing ever happened once she returns would be almost worse than the ending of Star Trek: Enterprise…
All that said, the "A" story in this episode is :fire:
Another great episode after an average previous episode. David Hyde Pierce and John Mahoney are fantastic this episode.
Woodford is more annoying and grating than menacing. The actor over does it.
Rose: How is it possible to get pregnant in Sicily just by crossing the street?
Sophia: Cheap Chianti and Narrow streets.
Betty White deserved an Emmy just for this episode. What a performance!
Oh, hi Robert Picardo. That was an unexpected pleasure.
STOP TOUCHING YOUR EAR WHEN TALKING IN THE EARPIECE!!!!!! Why do shows keep doing this bullshit
Dorothy: Whoa!
Blanche: September?
Dorothy: Yep!
Sophia: I'm surprised you were able to walk in October.
ahhh so refreshing to see corrupted political officials have survived the plague. Can't wait until Peng gets what's coming to him.
Best part of the episode: NO FISH MOONEY!
Second best part: Seeing that Daniel Davis can still play the butler after all these years.
Why are they even trying to suggest the threat against Bruce Wayne ? He's not going to die.
Captain Pike visits the high elf’s palace while Burnham and Spock fights the ants.
[7.5/10] Well hey, Resistance has been on a steady upward trajectory, which is all you can really ask for, right? I like a few things about this episode in particular. First, it gives a bit of the spotlight to Neeku, who has quickly become my favorite character in the show with his good-natured literalism. The fact that he knows about the unseen members of the platform, like the “shell people” who work below most folks’ notice, and is reflexively content to helping people like Kaz and the runaway children, just makes him all the more endearing.
I also like that this episode gives us a little more insight into the First Order and its looming presence over the station. There’s some world-building going on here, and the idea that the First Order is operating in places that most people don’t know, while trying to kill all the people who would in order to maintain their secrecy, is really interesting. Presumably Tehar is near where the First Order was staging its invasion, or perhaps even building Starkiller base, which makes the whole thing mysterious and intriguing, even before the runaways mention that they escaped Kylo Ren.
And while I tire of Kaz’s naivete and generic incompetence, I do appreciate that they’re leaning into his “heart of gold” qualities here, and even showing a bit of cleverness. Him escaping the first level of the platform via a chute shows learning from his own mistakes, and the plan to fool the First Order guards with the shell folk’s hibernation trick is honestly pretty smart. There’s still some convenience in how well they manage to pull it off, and frankly how easily Kaz gets wrapped into this whole thing to begin with, but it’s centered on him trying to help people in need no matter what, which gives it some cushion. The whole message of the episode, of looking after the people below others’ notice, and having them look after you, is a strong one.
Overall, Resistance seems to be finding a rhythm, which is encouraging after its rather questionable start.
Counselor Troi's laughter at the sight of the bearded Data is a childish act and disrespectful towards him. I wonder why they wrote that in.
You have to wait till end of season 5 to see rest.
Now that was stupid & made no sense. The robot can’t fight off 2 freaking humans when it was able to protect the horse on the planet. The creators are pretty freaking stupid for putting this in there.
Oh no I really liked this guy :|
The least believable part of the story isn't even an Alien coming to earth to save his own planet, it's that a Plasma Fusion PhD graduate would somehow end up on a waste cleaning crew.
Even if she had failed her dissertation topic, at that level of education, how the hell would her next step in life be "oil-rig janitor"?
Just can't get past that BS to "enjoy" the rest.
So... where did the hip flask come from? Also, that's not how Faraday cages work.
Weird show, but I'll stick with it for the remainder of the season, at least.
This story line is so weak compared to other seasons. =(
5,3/10
I do love The doctor But this Episode was Not that good. And why does he have to clean his hands before an Operation. I mean. How can bacterias stick to his hands?
I love Data explaining why Nu'Daq's headbutt was an epic fail.
Okay episode but the character of Dr. Smith is just so annoying. What is the point of her? Her story is just exactly the same as in Season 1. Somehow she is fooling everyone and gets away everytime. This is getting so old.
