This movie is already good on its own, but it becomes 10x better when you know what Patel went through to get it made.
The movie has already cemented itself as a classic of the vengeance subgenre, with echoes of Woo and Park Chan-wook, while bursting with enough originality for it to avoid feeling like a carbon copy.
It's a primal yell of a directorial debut from Dev Patel, already an underrated actor, who uses his unique experiences with religion and his own Indian heritage to bring the story of the film to life.
You can smell the blood and sweat wafting through the screen
Everything fell apart when they introduced that stupid fucking rocket with the bombs. How did they even get the bombS up in space in the correct spots and then get them to stay in that location? Not looking forward to season 2 tbh.
A really bad show. They have fooled me alright. Subpar plot with worse actors. Main actress has one expression she uses the entire time. So many subplots were introduced and were never resolved. Acting was really bad from almost everyone involved. The last episode I couldn't even finish. I wanted to write a very long review, picking apart every aspect of this show, but it really isn't worth my time. I would skip this one people and try and find something else to watch.
Terrible show with unlikable characters. Stupid plot, atrocious writing with even worse acting. The plot holes are deeper than the Challenger Deep.
And don’t make me talk about the cinematography, editing and sets.
It's okay. Probably more towards the 2.5 territory but I'm feeling generous. CGI gets a bit ropey and it becomes a bit too "girl-bossy" towards the end. Still easy enough fare.
Harlan Coben adapted on British TV is something I will avoid from now on. The plot is overly complex to look smart and oh so mysterious when in fact it is full of plot holes, characters acting beyond common sense, etc. Acting is so so, this is overlong......Try the first episode at your own risk, but if you don;t like it that much, don;t waste any more time like we did. Definitely not worth it
A decent but kind of unnecessary movie; it feels like it only exists to set up the next one. For one that focuses on ape vs ape with few humans in the script, there was surprisingly less action than in the previous films.
Great episode. True what she said though. Didn’t do Jack shit except motivate the next generation to hate and bomb America. The only people Americans can kill / steal shit from and not worry about any retaliations are the Native Americans, blacks, Latinos, and all the other smaller nations who don’t have the monetary means to strike back.
She screams at every turn
I mean if you’re trying to hide from a dragon in a cave can you at least :asterisk_symbol:try:asterisk_symbol: to muffle your screams?!
Quite a disappointing follow up to a great trilogy. I’m sure the actors and sfx team put their work in but it doesn’t save this film. The plot felt flat, the pacing uneven which led to a relatively bland and lengthy viewing experience. Maybe the next film will help redeem the series but I for one won’t be chomping at the bit for it.
[HBO Max] It uses most of the resources of animated cinema in a story that is unbalanced between wanting to please all audiences and trying to focus on the child's gaze. Like when it tries to build an empowered female lead, but ends up inevitably fueled by a romantic relationship. It is something like wanting to provide positive messages but that deep down contain a deep traditional look. The animation is well executed without being overly shiny and the soundtrack finds inspiration in Jerry Goldsmith, but the story is too boring and cliché.
You know a movie is bad when you end up sleeping in it, I've never seen an action movie that was this boring or maybe I have but I just forgot. Henry Golding sweetie, I'm so sorry but you can do better. The camera was very shaky during the fighting sequences which was very distracting. He literally got his name from a villain that killed his father, like that's where his iconic name came from? Tragic, I can write a better backstory than this mess. Also in the battle, why the hell was the villain just standing still when the entire group of heroes were in front of him, must have been blinded by the power of family.

And ABC just cancelled after five episodes.
To be honest, I expected this after the first episode. Watched it because of Katey and I do like it. But I understand that it gets no traction with viewers. It isn't a clear cut drama because of all the comedy elements. It is also not funny enough to be a comedy. And it shouldn't be with a topic like that. So it tries too much to pull in viewers from different angles. Maybe if they had focused on the dramatic aspects it could have survived. Acting wasn't bad, I liked seeing Katey again.
Let's see if they at least manage some kind of ending.
Please don't be cancelled please don't be cancelled please don't be cancelled...
I really think some people don't understand the history behind the "history" that are watching at all. Many people 'see', but not 'observe'.
This series have a lot of connotations, such politics and social, from a showdown with a dictator; unto to release of real feelings. Almost all characters have a full evolution of her personality... even Naga hahaha.
At first I agree looks like a little child's series, but think is a masterpiece in all respects. I recommend this series to all public, seen or not any other series of the Avatar's universe.
PS. James Cameron's 'Avatar' not included. xD
Cried so hard when she said she didn't felt him cause she said "I feel you" in infinity war.
The title seems to have a double meaning. Not only for the 'monster' of the film, but it is also one of those movies that gets under your skin. I can't stop thinking about it.
The film has very unique feel to it, an 80's vibe, a creepy unique premise and a constant feeling of unease, I can now see why this has been getting so much press throughout the horror scene.
A Must Watch!
Remember that scene from the Half-Blood Prince when Harry forces Dumbledore to drink that cursed liquid to get to the locket? And after every glassful Dumbledore screams "Please stop!" and "Kill me!" to which Harry keeps replying "Just one more, just one more!"?
Yeah. That's how it feels just watching each new Chibnall episode knowing Davies is on the horizon.
What a travesty.
The total body count is five.
The cause of death is....stupidity.
I wonder if this movie would be funnier on a re-watch with that in mind.
This season felt really rushed.
All I want is for Alder to step on me already.
Sometimes I think Tally is thinking the same thing
I love it when candidates are so certain of their own genius, despite being told the opposite by industry experts and even Lord Sugar himself, they resolutely stick to their terrible guns.
I’m sure she still thinks her advert was brilliant…
Super hilarious right until the end and refreshing cinematography :sparkles: i enjoyed every second of the show
Was her heart beat 350 from being in a room that was 41° Celsius? That can't be right... right.
Nevertheless, this was horrible and Amazon should actually develop backstop so we can forget this shit show.
The plot was stupid, the time jumps was annoying and the acting was abysmal.
The only good thing was that we actually got some closure in the season 1 finale.
It's insane the show has been renewed for a second season, there is a "spyverse" now and a second show in the "spyverse" is coming next year. Well, I won't be there when they release.
Not cool that everyone is trying to get Nancy and Steve back together. When Jonathan isn’t around.
I never thought that Marvel would dare to do a scene like that, where Rabona and Miss Minutes murder the former AVT agents in cold blood, woww... it was too strong a scene.
Seeing the cast, I'm asking myself which of the parents was the unfaithful one, since they clearly don't have the same parents.
Couldn't they at least have the same ethnicity (Don't really care which).
The rating should at least be in the 90s for sure! Very inspiring movie for me personally. If you have an idea you are trying to get off the ground, watch this movie, then you will start working on it immediately after. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross do an amazing job with the soundtrack. Interesting note that approximately 83% of trakt has been coded while listening to this soundtrack :)
if anyone ever wants a definition of the term "anti-climax" then i think it's really great that we now have the perfect example
I’m not ready. Not even a little.
