Oh look another show that has its natural flow interrupted by the same ol' industry standards plaguing everything else in the last few years. Hire hack writers who don't care about the source, hire every checkbox in the book, and then blame it on the fans for not liking it. Next.
Are lighting guys in short supply or something? I can't see shit this episode. :person_shrugging:
Why couldn't season 2 begin directly after the season 1 finale? No logic in the time jump.
So will this entire series just be about Master Chief "fighting the man"?
Can't they have the aliens be the interesting part of the story instead of this old "everyone in charge is literally evil people"??
I have no idea what this is attempting to be, but it definitely is not Halo (and that assessment has nothing to do with the idiotic and overblown helmet "controversy".)
Was pretty hyped when I saw season 2 is starting. After the first episode, not so much anymore. Season one was good, but it seems not good enough to invest some more money and it feels like they even cut the budget.
But still, loved the first game and will continue watching.
Man ,the VFX is much worse (I'm talking about the waterfalls scene). I guess they didn't get a 100mil budget this time.
I´m a gamer and never played Halo more than 5 minutes. I dont care if it doesnt follow the source material or if he took his helmet off. This is an incredibly awesome action sci-fi show! Just enjoy it!
I think its very good for people without much knowledge of halo. I am one of those :) For me it was very very good.
Good Story, good cgi, good acting, good action, good scyfi.
Just some episodes with to much Kwan Ha where boring and a bit childish but the spartans are bad ass.
Aaah seriously.... What kind of end is this.... We're not done hearing of Dr Alsey lol.
Kwan Ha completely gone, they'd better let us see her battle for her planet :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
Cortana in, John out. Will he come back? :open_mouth:
I'm waiting!
This show.
If it can keep up this quality and syndicate out to as many networks as possible.
Will be added to peoples short list of “good tv” in the last 25 years.
It’s takes a tiny fraction of the universe of Halo, and builds interesting and engaging stories that one actually looks forward to watching.
Not a lot of tv in the last couple years has been able to come close to that high bar. This one does.
I’d rank it up there with some of the greats like Firefly, StarGate, Dr Who, StarTrek (not discovery), and The Expanse.
For me to become excited about tv shows these days, a high bar has to be met. So far Halo, has not only met the bar, but passed it.
The series is "based on" the HALO franchise, it will never, never, never adapt anything from the games literally. I understand the fans' annoyance but on its own terms it's an entertaining show "based on" HALO universe, except for the Kwan subplot which is rubbish.
This part of Halo is interesting to explore, the division of the characters following their own motivations.
One of my favorite movies of all time, a must watch for anyone!
I was impressed, a great 60s picture and definitely a rememberble one too and Kirk Douglas with a super performance. A different ending would of been nice but still good though. I definitely need to get more of his movies watched.
Still as fun as we remember it. Taking the cartoonish bits aside, the movie is a great example of a hero/revenge action crowd-pleaser. It's like a nice pop-corn update of the classic swashbuckler picture of Old Hollywood. Banderas fits perfectly in the role.
There's a lot to like. Actual stunt work, great casting, a plot...
I enjoyed the first few swashbuckling set-pieces but by the end they were growing tiresome.
Catherine Zeta Jones has never looked better and she gets an actual character to play, rising to the challenge.
Antonio Banderas is charming and suave. But has no chemistry with CZJ.
Anthony Hopkins is about 20 years too old for the role. I pity his stunt double!
The hammy humour let's this down. I understand it's a nod to the original Flynn Zorro but it is now showing its age as a result.
They don't make them like this anymore though and that's a shame.
7.5/10
A great swashbuckling adventure. Perfect viewing for a lazy Sunday afternoon!
Insufferably mindless chatter. Avoid this.
Finally a great episode. I really like where they are taking the show with what happened during this episode. The link between John and Makee is intriguing. And making this episode even better is the fact that there was no distraction from the Kwan side story, which I would be happy if they just dropped completely at this point to focus on the main storyline.
That was one packed episode. I felt really connected to the characters.
We're going in the right direction here, please please please don't mess it up.
The weakest thing in this series continues to be Kwan Ha. The character is weak; the story is boring and uninspired; the actress is miscast and not very good; and it adds nothing to the show. Every time the show returned to Madrigal, the main storyline crawls to a halt — which us unfortunate because the main storyline is actually starting to get good. The action at the end of the episode was much better than the one in the pilot.
Getting really Tired of The anti-Obama political rhetoric this show spouts. I don't want Political snide remarks in a sitcom. I can watch the Daily Show for that. Terribad second season.
It's one thing to recast a character, but to recast about three of them and completely change the family (ages, etc)? Come on. How are you supposed to develop any feelings towards the characters and suspend your disbelief? Did not like the directional change for season two. What a horrible mistake the series executives made.
The show was enjoyable even though it had very predictable punchlines. I haven't seen an episode in which Mike wasn't right and/or got his way in the end. Now it's pushing political ideologies way too much.
Also funny how the supposedly dumb characters in TV or movies are very often the smartest ones in real life, kudos Molly Ephraim.
Anyway I'm done with it and let's see how long it takes until Tim Allen has his Roseanne moment on twitter.
Dang that scene with the racial stereotypes was hard to get through. It was awkward watching them get through the awkwardness.
Wow, so they got a new show runner, and the first decision he makes is to get new actors for Kristina, Kristina's kid, and Kristina's boyfriend/baby daddy (no longer a Jonas bro). To top it all off, there is a weird disconnect where Kristina's baby daddy is also now really in the picture.. strange, very strange.
I wouldn't care so much about the fact they recasted Kristin except for the fact she has a completely different personality. I don't like new Kristin. Also the kid aged like 3 years! What's up with that? And baby daddy is now a sort of permanent fixture? WTH? Did the writers not watch season one before writing season two?
