too bad it got cancelled :( it started of so good...
I very much enjoyed this movie. Sure, from the cast and director you can maybe hope to be able to expect more, but I thought it was good fun.
For some strange reason my gf and I really enjoyed this movie :) It's definitely not for the smaller children though.
I really dont understand why this mini-series was not actually picked up as a pilot to a real series. It really deserved at least another mini-series or shortened season. Great story and great basis for a very interesting plot. I do not agree on the "bad acting" comments at all.
I really enjoy this show, the humor is top notch, and a good amount of action.
my God... episodes are getting worse and worse and worse.
Season 4 is really a total disappointment.
I hope they will make an end to the series soon, before it gets cancelled without a proper ending :(
Acting seems to be going downhill, even by the regulars in the cast, conversations are so predictable they hardly have to say anything anymore at all anyway and this whole Messiah crap is really getting to me (Frank Herbert, anyone?). Seems the creators are totally out of inspiration and have started copying random other series and movies and throwing it into a mixer and then hope for a proper story coming out of it. That is definitely a fail.... they really should have brought an end to this series at season 3, instead of dragging a great series on and on into oblivion.
season 1 and 2 were superb, now it's just stretching things thin :(
This is like a modern version of Lethal Weapon on nearly every kind of upper known the man :) Very much enjoyed the first few episodes. Sure its all over the top. Like.... by a lot. But in a fun way. Just dont take it all too serious. The series doesnt take themselves very serious either :)
It's a bit more drama then I expected, I thought it was going to be a bit more action.
I'm about 6 episodes into the first season. Do really like it though. Rose Leslie is superb, Theo James is 100 times better in this role then when he was in Divergent.
One of the best movies I've seen in a while. Totally amazing movie, though it may have been even a tiny bit better here and there. But overal: superb. Rebecca Furgoson is stunning and Oscar Isaac plays a great role. Jason Momoa plays as if he is really enjoying this role and hardly does any acting. Timothee Chalamet I'm not a fan off, same as rather overrated Zendaya, but all in all they play quite well. Perhaps I could have gone with a 10 if Chalamet was a bit more a proper actor who would be able to properly show some emotions instead of just being eye candy for young girls.
Tonight watched the movie for a second time in just few months time and I saw many more details that I missed at first. Very enjoyable!
I dont understand all the hate towards this movie, it was fun. Yes its quite a lot of b.s. but in a fun way. Loved the many references to other movies/series and even to real persons here and there and at least 2 cameos. Ed Sheeran with his "I was in game of thrones", Reynolds in his India Jones outfit whistling the tune and referring MacGuffin, nazi crate with the super secret text on it, etc etc. Sure, very predictable here and there, but all in all I really enjoyed it for what it was: an action comedy.
I've enjoyed this series a lot, each season has its own distinct set, characters and a small set of main issues. Season 5 was a bit less good, season 6 was omg dreadful. It was slow and nearly painful to get through season 6. And then came....... season 7. In 1 word: WOW. Loved it. They totally aced that season. Ok, the tiny plothole still occurred here and there, but at least its not a total insult to everyone's intelligence (compared to for example the utterly retardedness in Blindspot). Season 6 was a good basis for the events in season 7, so you cannot really skip season 6 altogether, but I postponed getting into season 7 as I was not expecting a huge improvement over the endless drama of the previous season. Praise the Lord, my expectations were too low :-)
brilliant movie, but best thing to do is watch it in the middle of the night/drunk/st*ned to be in the right mind set :)
I do not understand why so many people hate this movie. Sure its not an action movie, it's more a love story. But I found it to be an interesting mix of scifi and love. I have enjoyed it a lot. And Saoirse Ronan is a truely remarkable actress.
I basically binged this entire series. I enjoy cop-shows, but this outshines nearly any out there.
Only a few get close. Banshee being one.
There are very few weak episodes in this series.
Season 6 is a bit too graphical for my taste, but at least its a very good and proper ending and gives a close to basically all story lines.
Very enjoyable.
Woke report: the woke virus had not hit us yet when this series was made. So no crazy woke crap.
this desperately needs to be a full length movie or series, with Anne Winters and William Fichtner
This was the first proper Terminator movie since Terminator 2 and felt for me like Terminator 3. I'm not a fan of Mackenzie Davis who always has that same cry face ever since Halt And Catch Fire which she cant seem to lock out of anymore - but, she was not bad in this movie. Great to see Linda Hamilton and Arnie together again.
very disappointing this never got picked up. looked like a great pilot to a full season series :(
The series is seriously good; in between all the sex scenes there is an amazing story. Now I am all for the great sex of the beautiful people - which is actually done very tasteful - but in this case I think a little less graphic might have helped the series pick up more viewers.
But the story is truely amazing. It's striking. It's relevant. It's sci-fi and yet realistic. And when you consider the series is (loosely) based on a book from the 1930s; its hard to imagine how much 2020+ it is.
I loved the movie Equilibrium, which has a openly very dark side to it, with feelings being not allowed. This series Brave New World has the same basis though its the opposite with obligatory fake happiness. I would say that Brave New World actually perhaps is even more dark...
I really enjoyed the story of the series and I totally binged it in just 3 days!
There is an ending to the series, though largely open, but still giving just enough closure to accept it as a series finale........ but I do hope that there will be another season afterall.
RichDotCom is hilarious. Simply not needed to be 5 words.
A great series that gets you totally engaged from the very first minute. At first I was surprised to read that Hugh Dr House Laurie got into a doctors role again. I didnt read the full synopsis. I was a bit sceptical about this most likely being a sort of "lets try to be as succesful as that other doctor" - totally wrong. The opening episode created a basis for the rest of the season, one that I did not expect. From the third episode or so I thought I knew exactly in what way it was heading, but I kept wanting to see more to find out if I was right or not. Every episode there was one or even more extra pieces to the puzzle. But still, no total overview. And at some point I started wondering if I even was working on the right puzzle. It's amazing how basically everyone in this series is crazy - at least to some extend. And the path that Eldon Chance is taking towards ... (what?) is also very interesting to follow. I totally enjoyed it.
Of course, the series takes 'real' (neuro)psychology a bit lightly, and split personalities also don't really work in the way the series shows - but I'll accept some artistical liberties on that. Overal a very interesting series which kept me entertained from the first episode all the way till the end.
I don't see yet how they will be able to make a season 2 story as well thought-out as this without becoming dull or just plain and simple weird...
Really superb show. It has many elements from many shows I enjoy, but putting them all together in the mix it comes out totally unique. Closest resembling show might be Dark Matter; which is not a bad thing :)
Oh my God, really, how many puns and references can you put in 1 single episode.
Breaking Bad, Speed, Walking Dead,, Fringe. Starwars, Silence of the Lambs, the Joker... even songs "Like a bat out of Hell" (Meatloaf ? or are there other references?). many others which I cant connect yet, but I know there are many more.
If I'd watch it again I'll probably find several more
Season 1 was absolutely stunning.
A totally amazing cast. I totally binged this season.
I started suspecting the bad guy after episode 5 or 6, but it was at some point a matter of everyone becoming a realistic suspect.
Very weird is that Disney+ has deleted nearly all female full frontal (bush) nudity scenes, though theres still a lot of boobs.
Penisses however are shown all over the place.
This first season was pretty good, binged it during just one week. Even in 2024 it's still very watchable and I am surprised I never saw it before.
I absolutely loved season 1. Season 2 not so much. Loads of plotholes and totally illogical scenes, not very intelligent dialogues and just pointless violence that really seems specifically setup to become a violet fight. Its just nothing like season 1.
Season 1 - 9.5 out of 10
Season 2 - 5.5 out of 10
Michael C Hall is showing to be (again) he's a truely good actor, carrying all of this.
Several of the supporting actors are mediocre at best. Several of the kids are truely great though.
The series is very complicated with many characters who all have their own secret agendas.
Plottwists galore. A typical Coben's series. In many ways I enjoy this more than Fool me Once or The Stranger.
finally a proper episode again
This series is intriguing. I kind of expected a stupid and maybe even annoying comedy because of William Jackson - but it's not really a comedy at all. This is mostly a crime investigation mystery kind of series.
I know Selena had been ill for a while, but omg what happened to her? Did she eat Bunny and then some? :o not healthy.
A completely crazy and over the top mad movie with loads of gore.... And just the right amount of humor. Loved it
