This show basically only takes the base concept from the movie (drug makes you smart). All the themes from the movie (dangers of addiction, intelligence vs knowing things, ect) are basically gone to make way for what the show is.
This show is "What if J.D. from Scrubs was in a police procedural and was also The Mentalist half the time". Any worries about getting more of the drug is gone, they never really show the withdrawal he must go through each day, there are no long term damages from taking the drug. The show is really just another goofy genius fights crime show. Which is fine? It is still pretty good.
Not the movie, still fun-ish.
This is one hour and 20 minutes of people screaming eachother's names while running around in a field of tall grass.
Literally. Nothing else.
As my wife aptly said after the conclusion of the episode, "there's plenty of action but not a lot of story here." There are certainly a lot of great moments and a good bit of mystery, but it feels more like a trailer for whats coming then a its own story.
every single character in this movie matter, every single character feels real! fantastic performances, great story telling.
this right here is a Masterpiece and without any doubt the best 2017 Film. It´s rare for a movie to make me stare at the credits thinking about what i just saw...
On a side note... wouldn't it be great to have a sequel?
Why is a kid in it though ? This isn't Jurassic Park lol.
Stupid, insulting and a real stinker. The Baby Boss made me wish there was a Planned Parenthood for films.
He's back ! Vader enters the picture and immediately the heat is literally turned up. One shot, one breath of him has more weight as ten minutes from the Third Sister.
I had not imagined that him and Obi-Wan would meet that early. And now we have the question of continuity. There has to be another meeting because that one could not have been what Vader was describing in Ep IV (with Obi-Wan being the Master and he the apprentice). Yes, those things matter to me. But as one-sided as the duel here was it had me on the edge of my seat. The lightsabers in the dark, the musical score, Vaders voice - that was an amazing sequence.
How on earth did Reva get past Leia ? There is one tunnel leading to where the pilot was waiting and she had to pass Leia to get there first. Yet she was there waiting, the pilot already dead.
All in all by far the best episode. Obi-Wan talking about Padme and his memories of his own family was another great scene.
Now I'm hyped.
Kick Ass Meets DC Meets Tarantino - James Gunn Is A Genius - Peacemaker The Guy You Hate In Suicide Squad To The Guy You Want To Hug - First Three Episodes Were Unexpected Action Packed & Hilarious - Not What I Was Expecting At All But I Loved It Even In The Corny Moments - Colorful Characters And Got To Love Vigilante The Unwanted Sidekick
This Show Is Definitely Not Safe For Kids
oh my god you guys have no idea how gay the comic is. i really hope they dont leave it all behind
From technical aspect LD&R has always been astounding and this season, that is still the case.
But none of the stories stood out this season.
As Cosmonaut Marcus writes, "It was whatever."
There are some important messages but no revelations, lessons or challenges. Falcon just hears Bradley say, "don't do it", and does it and does fine, because...? So he had self-doubt, hears more doubt from someone else, but does it anyway?
SCORE 5/10
serie is light fun to watch . not serious .
little bit sad moments.
little bit dark humor
making fun off ads ,limited data plan, other commonly used things .
A dull film that rushes through a threadbare plot and barely developed characters, the surprise here is such a talented cast is wasted, though Matt Damon seems at pains to admit in interviews he just wanted to work with the director. A shame then that the director's strength in visuals is nowhere near as impressive as his other films - sure the costumes and design are very well done but this is all lost in a mess of poor special effects and editing. If you're questioning plot developments from the opening scene then you know the film hasn't clicked and when the final resolution is straight out of the "How to stop a drone army with a Queen" manual, you know the film has problems. Very disappointing it is mercifully short and watchable only due to Pedro Pascal and Willem Dafoe who seem to be in just as much of a rush to get this over with as the audience.
FINALLY A GOOD TRANSFORMERS MOVIE! less explosions, less dumb gags, less Michael Bay! Hailee Steinfeld is wonderful and John Cena...I mean, there is no movie John Cena wouldn't make better so... yeah, I loved Bumblebee.
Fantastic show, though I don't agree with people who say it's better than Breaking Bad. I guess you could argue that it's more masterfully crafted and put together, but Breaking Bad is still infinitely more compelling IMO. There's no contest. The final two seasons of Better Call Saul are the only ones that I'd personally put on the same level as Breaking Bad. Still, it was a fantastic show and I highly recommend it.
Both excited and terrified about this.. Let's hope it doesn't turn out like The Runaways
edit: Thankfully, it did not turn out like the Runaways and even though it has some differences from the comics, i love it.
Went into this show expecting a fun time and while I definitely received that the outcome was something much more special. What a consistently surprising mystery with an excellent mix of humor brought to life by many incredible actors who have impeccable chemistry with one another. All three leads are coming for Emmy nominations and no one can stop them. Hands down one of the best shows of the year so far.
A show so good and singular it redefines what Star Wars can be. How can we accept riskless mediocrity after this? After such rich, topical themes, actors given something real to chew on, tight writing, practical living sets, tight scripts. Simply phenomenal.
weird movie. the performances are solid, but the script is a mess (and weird). It couldn't really grab my attention, and I really don't understand what the critics see in it
Brilliant first season. Great range of characters portrayed by a great range of actors. Incredibly weird, but also completely relatable. Season finale got me asking all the right questions and looking forward to season 2. Ingrid is annoying, but hot.
Pretty bad. I'm sure that one day soon Grillo will star in a genre-redefining action movie but this wasn't it.
Could have been a much better movie, but Jaden is a terrible actor.
Mystifyingly bad given some of the acting talent. Skip this and watch any other time loop movie again instead, every day until… well you get the idea.
Enjoyed the movie and this series seems that it will touch on more, go deeper, and be even more heartfelt with more time to do so. As a Doctor Who and Sherlock fan, all I can say is Moffat!
