Seeing the internet hate on this, but in my opinion it's better than the mess that was the original show.
The only interesting thing about this miniseries is the post apocalyptic setting. Most of the characters are not interesting and those that are do not get a satisfying ending (no matter if that's the point or not). It's just difficult to care about characters you don't like and have no sympathy for. The plot is not interesting either so the series is simply not worth watching. I am not a fan of Stephen King or Christianity as a plot device so maybe the series had no chance with me to begin with.
If all the scenes that weren't in the novel had been edited out, and Darcy was played by someone who doesn't look like he's in constant physical pain, I would have liked it a lot better. Jennifer Ehle does a great job, and is definitely one of my favourite portrayals of Elizabeth.
Oh, to watch the love of your life walk towards you across a field of grass, while the sun is rising and the birds are singing. Knowing how much they love you, and finally being able to tell them that you love them too.
Rewatched the 1995 miniseries earlier, so of course I had to rewatch this as eyebleach.
Mera spin-off when? I need it.
Every time I watch this movie I'm in awe of how beautiful it is, and every time I wonder how it's possible that it wasn't nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, but then I remember that the Oscars are complete bullshit.
Did I already watch Dirty Dancing this week for the nth time? Yes. Is it ever too soon to watch it again? No.
The visuals, the sets, and the costumes are all so beautiful. Can't wait to watch this film again once it comes out in theatres.
Great music and great lesbians.
I've waited four months for the film to finally be released digitally since the first time I watched it, so I could finally understand what they're talking about in the Spanish scenes:laughing:
I love watching women make fools of overconfident men.
I’ll never get over the cancellation of this show:sob:
If it wasn’t for that wifebeating rapist the director’s cut would be one of my favourite movies.
Oh how I love Ann, she's so relatable :sob:
"There'll come a time...when tenants throw landlords off land." If only... still waiting for that almost a century later.
The original pilot was pretty great, it even had a MMF threesome. Disappointed they changed it (and the plot of several of the characters) for the aired pilot.
I'm loving the aesthetic of Nicola Six, but everything else in this film is so bad that I'm curious how different the director's cut is. I must say though, that Jim Sturgess really did a good job of portraying an absolutely disgusting character. 6/10
Having now watched the director's cut it's a shame this is not the one available on VOD/disc because this version makes a lot more sense. The plot is more detailed, the characters (especially Nicola) are more fleshed out, and it actually feels like the plot takes place during an apocalypse, it actually feels like a mystery film, instead of the incohesive clichéd mess that was the producer's cut. It's actually a good movie. 8/10
This show had so much promise.
Alice is such a big mood.
It's been almost ten years since I watched this show and I'm still sad it got cancelled.
The secrets of Vaults 31-32-33 are so far the most interesting thing going on, which is pretty on par with how exploring vaults in the games is some of the most interesting thing to do.
Can’t wait to rewatch this all over again, and again, and again.
I told myself years ago that I would have no expectations, that I’m just happy we’re getting a live action Fallout. Although there are some things I wish were different, I am definitely a satisfied fan. Season 2 when?
The score when Lucy saw the NCR flag… chills! I have nothing against Ramin Djawadi, he really know how to make a great score, but the show is very much missing out without the ambient music made by the dudes who composed the games.
Maximus would’ve known to never leave your power armor if he had had any experience with settlements:joy:
Only one episode left and no vertibird has randomly crashed yet, smh 0/10 accuracy
That kiss was completely unnecessary, what the fuck.
The show is great so far, my tiniest complaint is that there is no epic title sequence.
Thank you, Evan Rachel Wood.
They absolutely nailed bringing the Brotherhood of Steel to the small screen, they’re just as boring as in the games! At least Maximus and Dane seem like interesting characters, and of course Lucy is instantly lovable.
