Boy I was wrong about Greta's husband.
Sad that Bunny's prolly an errant child of imperialists. And, I mean no disrespect using that term -- thinking back to the Persian refugees after the Shah was deposed, most of whom I now think were either imperialists or communists but both groups forced to flee because of my country's meddling -- not the same thing as Bunny's homeland, but I can understand, or think I can, why she's struck out on her own even if it means being indigent.... Just, damnnnnn...so sad.
Really good episode. The first three did not get me hooked but this one was definitely more promising. Rose Byrne is really perfect for this role and I just love the look and music of the show.
A great coupl'a teachers coined the term, "You can't think yourself into right action, but you can act yourself into right thinking." They taught, "The Life Training Weekend," during the 80's (it was based on REBT/CBT, and kind of the opposite of another pop-psy training of the time). I want to think her offer of private lessons is an attempt to genuinely connect, which is out of her comfort zone...we'll see.
This is gritty.
THE ENDING SCENE. LOUIE HAS MY WHOLE HEART, and his friends are so precious.
AAAAAAAAAAAH. I CAN'T STOP SMILING!! SAM & BESS: YEEEEEEEEES!!!
THE ENDING SCENE WAS EVERYTHING!!!
Season finale If Nathan did not give the note it would not be Nathan
Rose Byrne!! :sparkling_heart::sparkling_heart::sparkling_heart:Glad AppleTV picks good actors.
Great pilot. Funny. I genuinely enjoy the dissonance between her critical inner voice versus the quite positive things she vocalizes. The bingeing was intense.
Her husband is total trash. Glad that's not, like, a secret.
What a emotionally, well drawn and beautiful show!
This was a really good show!
Wow. Just wow.
The scene between Alice and David in the car was so intense. So real.
David's mom is so creepy. No wonder he's marriage is a mess with a mom like this.
Loving this so far! Great acting by everyone involved.
I can see by the responses that the ending was not appreciated, by some, but have you not been paying attention? This ending was inevitable since season one, and we were told repeatedly, in the dialogue, throughout the series, that it would happen like this. In what world are all consequences lifted? The beauty was in the writing of these characters who we became so invested in.
What a crazy ride! I'm in love.
What a tragic ending to both the characters and the show. Amazing last episode.
That was one CRAZY episode. The cat was the Shark!? I didn't expect that. Also, a great job of weaving in the personal moment between Todd and Dirk, the Detectives, Bart, and the Rowdy Three. A really great episode.
SPOOKY.
Welp, I just received more questions than answers. I'll admit, it's intriguing, but the episodes still end like nothing's happened. I guess that's a testament to the pacing because the time flew by! I don't have much to say other than I enjoyed it, but I will say that I feel really sorry for Ken. Like, hell, he's the hostage of a psychopath and almost got attacked by some rando in the woods.
I should also mention that those Ted, Fred and Ned guys are creepy. I feel so sorry for Farah and the Missing Persons duo. RIP that FBI guy.
TECHNICAL SCORE: 7/10
ENJOYMENT SCORE: 8/10
Pretty fun. I like all the plot threads.
That was one of the weirdest starts to a series I've seen. But it's so well done. I'm very intrigued. Amazing first episode.
amazing first episode, kinda weirdly fun and very amusing and interesting. looks good so far.
Loving the new relationship between Gov and Luther.
Also... interesting new dynamics between Alice and him. It took me a while to get used to there being dynamics, it seemed a bit pushy in the first season, not very believable.
As for this episode... wondering why they don't "just" run some track and trace on the suspect, since they already know who he is, what he looks like, etc... he must be outside his mask during daytime, he must be trackable! Or... do we not have CCTV in England :see_no_evil:
Also that ex of his was suspicious as fuck. All actors, if you ask me. I thought she was in on it latest when she came to check on the police officers asking whether something's happened. And then asking them to come upstairs?
This show is realllly bad at setting obvious traps. Or good, in the sense that they all stupidly fall for it. And why the fuck does she not have a proper torch, as police officer...? And she's doing a real bad job checking the rooms, like basically she's just poking her head in and out of rooms. Did she even have training?
Meanwhile... oops.
oh my. that was one hell of a season.
I liked that Gov just did a really good job and started to question things, instead of foolhardedly trying to pursue Luther through the entire thing. That made me like his character a lot more.
But Alice... oh Alice, why did you...
best episode so far, got me hooked up to finish the whole series.
Some fine and unexpected character development. The ending was unbelievable and the song choice perfect. Even just seeing the genuine remorse from Ian about killing Zoe was so perfect, but yet his character still used something so atrocious to frame a strong friend.
