Not gonna lie, this show feels like a high-budget children's production. This isn't meant to be a put-down and I genuinely enjoyed the show. I haven't seen the anime or manga, maybe the child-friendly tone was an intentional nod to the original. The characters were well-cast, even though some lacked strong acting skills. All in all, if you can move past the initial cringe, it's entertaining and at times, wholesome, like a lot of the shonen manga.

@cd440ef5-1a29-4c85-b6f3-05543339c16d purely for the resemblance to the comic characters and for successfully capturing the essence of their design.
An underwhelming effort from a company that seems to have fallen behind the curve. Creatively it’s pulling too much from Zootopia and Inside Out while not adding much of its own flavour, almost every choice in this movie is predictable. Sure, the racism/prejudice commentary is more aggressive now that we’ve entered the post-Trump era (seriously, you should go back and look at how Zootopia handled that same topic, it feels quaint now), but besides that it doesn’t bring much to the table. The worldbuilding lacks the clever intricacies of Zootopia, the pretty animation style has some unique textures but it’s no Across the Spider-verse, and emotionally it feels more like Illumination than Pixar. It’s a very straightforward, cheesy romcom with a formulaic set-up for the main characters (think Notting Hill, Crazy Rich Asians, and countless other movies your mom loves), some ok comedy (bad puns notwithstanding) and a boring adventure (fixing pipelines, how exciting). The score’s pretty interesting because it seems to pull a lot from Indian folk music, on the other hand the songs sound generic and overproduced. Overall, I’d easily recommend this over some other animated films from this year, as this does genuinely try as a movie. However, that doesn’t change that I expect both children and adults to be mostly bored by this.
4.5/10

@jordyep You sound incredibly fun
The plot is what you would expect from such a movie. And, as usual in American productions, it is imbued of annoying and childish American moralism, that makes the viewing bothersome. Children deserve really deeper plots and topics, something Japanese (who are probably not that satisfied of how one of their flagship characters have been used) are perfectly aware of but Americans are not.

When you run out of ideas, just reboot something repeatedly - certainly you will end up with a franchise that people like sooner or later. Was F4 really in need of a reboot?

Quite literally yes. In order to have an MCU fantastic four yes. Also it’s been like 9 years now since that last one came out and it was garbage

If you want to bring them into the MCU then yeah….
I loved this ending so much, This is definitely gonna annoy some people, they don't like the Transcendence stuff, I am not big fan, but it was a bit heart-warming to see them all together in the end of the sow. I believe at the end of their lives Clarke will die and go somewhere else but The rest will transcend. I hope the prequel will answer remaining questions but I have enjoyed it. A bittersweet ending as I expected for a phenomenal, heart wrenching, survival post apocalyptic show like this. The fighting is over, no more war. May we meet again.

@cnotex And who would she have a child with? All the men are supposedly sterile too.
I cannot believe they killed another boyfriend of Raven. When will that girl catch a fucking break. She's suffered enough already.

@like-a-winter-machine He knew the tech and even the codes for it. There were even signs. It feels so random.

@abstractlegend Many of the One Piece fillers are entertaining as heck.
Obviously, this is not my kind of movie. Started to watch this because Zooey Deschanel is simply amazing, but I quit it after 15 minutes before even spotting her on screen. I couldn't bare watching any longer!

@lifeiscrazy Well I'm not gonna say you NEED to see this movie. It was okay even at the time. Though I will say it holds up better than some other sex comedies. It's just a LOT of stunt casting. But if you made it 15 minutes you DID see Zooey Deschanel quite a bit of her. Honestly this is one of the least "Zooey Deschanel"-looking roles she's had. Let's just say this is a far far far cry from New Girl aka Peak Zooey.
The fact it’s been out for 20 straight years is also kind of the reason not to watch it as there’s 900 episodes, I don’t understand how a regular person with school or a job can be up to date with one piece

@kieranlittleuk my case: i watched it in the bus, one before going to sleep, and sometimes, if I was alone, while I ate. Of course it takes months but you finally get there and is super rewarding
So, no real japanese actors on this? That's kinda lame, especially from Netflix.

There's no Japan in One Piece so why would they need Japanese actors. It's understandable that many people have strong opinions when it comes to these adaptations but this comment isn't constructive to the quality of the production.

@bkoto the creator himself said multiple times over the years that if the characters would be in the real world, their nationalities would all be very different. Luffy (Brazil), Zoro (Japan), Nami (Sweden), Usopp (Africa), Sanji (France).
So before you start spreading your negativity maybe check some facts beforehand. Thank you.

@iwatchalotoftv They obviously didn't look at the cast properly
It's the worst show I've ever watched. After one episode I can say that it is not suitable for watching. The series was filmed to scare, upset and bring a lot of negative emotions into life. Completely different than, for example, The Walking Dead. It introduces anxiety, elements that were during the last war - a scene with a boy with a child admitted to quarantine. Then thrown on the pile. Probably a series for subliminal coding of negative emotions. Don't watch it. The whole thing is probably filmed according to the current pandemic narrative.

@michalkaluza it’s based off a game which they did a damn pretty good job on it

this series is based on the Last of us game. it literary shows the events in the game. If its not to your liking fine. But it really does a good job of displaying the story.
