take away the first matrix and try watching any watchwoski and i just learned that i always end up regretful.
i heard she made this movie to mourn her parents death... which makes much better sense... but doesn't add any value to the dreadful story.
when watching the trailer i had the impression the meta story might include keanu reeves in the story. my first mistake.
enough to say, this whole crap doesn't add anything to the trilogy and it doesn't add anything on its own. i like to think they didn't even try to.
the only merit i saw here i see in most romantic comedies: enough stupidity to keep it slightly entertaining.
action + garbage filled with clichés.
cheesy as hell, terrible ai portrayal, only adds confusion. classic reynolds
other than terrible female lines, this movie have one of the best endings ever.
cruel lore, broken in too many ways, and the story also gets way too brutal on hancock, who at least manages to cope with so many terrible life aspects... otherwise one of the most refreshing super heroes ever made with many insightful scenes, through figures and parables.
magical. sadly they never really explain time travel, because the script got so much right that i would expect an explanation. still an amazing adventure!
the beach scene, few funny moments, mostly entertaining, fair enough ending, the beach scene.
together with captain fantastic and shortbus, they consist of highly underrated and underground films that can greatly impact most people's lives today.
a bit outdated and slow, but mostly still years ahead of 2022. not as funny as i would expect from such an otherwise great script. first time i ever watched or heard of it, was expecting another soundtrack...
very childish and, sadly, a lot of potential wasted. the whole movie offers nothing good other than some brainless action and, perhaps, a little bit of good life philosophy... but way too cliché for my taste. decisively zero rewatch value. i rather watch shaolin soccer again.
my 3rd comment in this fringe section of the internet about this dreadful story.
2 big problems with this movie:
first, i didn't like the first 10 minutes and, when that happens with a movie that have bad reviews, it's certain that it will be terrible. beware. if you don't like the beginning, you better stop there...
but the movie have enough action, mystery, and magic that it still lures in most people... so it becomes exponentially harder to stop if you're watching this late at night in bed with your romantic partner who can almost never quit a movie in the middle.
second, the final parts... i will reply to this comment with sp0ilers, if you want to read. but, trust yourself: if you didn't like the beginning, the ending is even worse, it is actually of the worst kind possible!
need a better still similar hero movie suggestion? watchmen obviously. kickass is slightly different, but much better than both. i also disliked "the boys" and it's a series, but it's still much better than this. heck, even the incredibles, with all their well-pointed-by-wisecrack missogeny will certainly entertain you better. which calls for the good animated ones, megamind and despicable me. have you watched them all already? try the whole evangelion. you need to endure until the glorious ending, though. need something fresh? sorry. best one i can recall would be doctors strange, the first one. marvel disney only went downhill from there. dc was never really a match, except for batman obviously... and a few others. if you just want to chill on a movie with good story, try perhaps "la belle verte". i got plenty of chaotic suggestions on my imdb lists and around the web. just search for cregox movies or films. :kissing_heart:
indeed, even with our scientific understanding of reality today, we could not figure out how to deflect a comet within 6 months.
this film portrays an earth as if it was completely ruled by the usa, which obviously triggers me and everyone outside the americas who happen to know this to be false.
and it also makes a terrible testimony of science.
if you can ignore those 2 huge flaws, you can probably enjoy the flick flock very much.
i couldn't.
and i only give it a 7 because i can see its value to those who can, either due to ignorance (the target audience) or due to subliminal self control (who probably don't care to watch movies in the first place).
ending sucks, i think. also, film is too long. could easily be done much better in 110 minutes tops. but otherwise, amazing and lots of fun, as expected! great soundtrack.
extremelly annoying lack of resolution while promoting the same old broken romantic idea of love. it ends up advocating completely against itself while trying to feel good about its own misery. if i indeed watched this on release and completely forgot about it, at least it helps me to explain why my life sucks almost exactly like this. i have to stop consuming such crap unconsciously! 3 random points because of good production, acting, and editing.
quite interesting how this movie splits opinions a lot and I can't understand why people see that because it has so many little details that add up to such a corny plot that it's hard to it's actually easy to miss the details and the work but into saw everything together and that's the only reason I don't give it a 10 because the work was not perfect but it was very good people are very spied with very good movies and productions nowadays they have no idea how much work goes into this and how well done this is. actors, writing, directing and so many little details... there's a scene right early in the movie in which they're talking in a car and then because the scene should not take much time but it was important to present the side character they added a big truck behind just to hit a horn to make the scene shorter. this is work. and myself I'm going through a very similar story with my X so I can deeply connect with how real the story can be from beginning to end.
teen emotional drama, really not much to it. great production and script, like almost all films in this category.
50 first dates with reversed genders. but also many bad scenes that don't really stitch together. acting feels dull, thanks to terrible directing. the idea stands fine, though.
this did not age well in my life.
for one, the blower's daughter gets cut. the most beautiful message comes in the end of the song, but i can see why it got cut for the movie. i don't remember when i learned this, but for sure i didn't care enough about such minute details back in 2004.
but also, the whole drama, which may have made some sense to me when i never had a relationship myself before, became almost surreal! i can surely see too many people living such lives. fuck, i got 1y into a split up now (after 14y together, watching and rewatching many movies looking for inspiration), supposedly without games or lies (for sure none from my end). and, still, i don't see why we can't just get over so much drama!
i guess the film does give a good portrayal of drama addiction. of which i got exhausted, even if i hardly ever watched soap operas.
the end of the song can change everything though! enjoy.
the beauty of this flick: it gets the old heist genre and turn it into a real "hero" film. but it focus way too much in the heist and hero. the ending did save some of this, but it should happen earlier and got more space to develop it, because the real beauty happens there. too bad the film only mentions it without showing. this explains why so many people mistake it for masterpiece or crap. certainly worth watching.
i will talk mostly about my own story, but only as it relates to the film.
it describes a lot of my own "(lack of) love" story. except i lived it for about 4900 days and today i wait to get to that "magical" 5000, out of the current darkness (that feels like 10k years).
my "summer" also behaved like an avoidant since day 1, and me as the "play it cool" anxious one (i obviously only learned this in retrospect).
but mine never did and probably never will marry another man (although she have a rebound for excruciating 200 and some days now). i "married" her near day 200. and she "divorced" me around 4800.
so i believe my case will become different, as she will be "my autumn", after we both learn what we need to learn about life, while apart for those last 500 to 1000 most painful days of my whole 42y life.
definitely i still haven't had my last goodbye meeting with her. and i will not say if the film actually do that or not, but my ex insist on ignoring me and asking me to let her go, that we tried everything before she decided she couldn't anymore (and i know people think i should "respect" her desire, even though i almost always said that i would, and i mostly did).
the film does, however show a happy ending, in which they both get everything they need/deserve in the end. like nearly all stories ever told. and what makes my case so much more complex other than the 10x more days lived, will forever be that i know/feel that she also feels but don't know the impossible love we have for each other and our relationship (never our "marriage"). my feeling and knowledge, however, only solidified, like in the movie, on those final dark days, starting around 4000.
so, in this sense, i am a living example that this film ain't just fiction.
if you watch this and don't give it a 10, sorry for your life!
if you don't like andy or jim carey, just skip this. otherwise, you will see some good spins of groundhog, very refreshing. especially roy!
feels like a piece of art made with bad
quality just to tease artists and critics while pissing everyone else. from scripting, to acting, they all hit a half baked attempt, probably on purpose.
a constant slow mood throughout the whole film, filled with hopelessness and mystery, plus the normal amount of reality shock which will always still be less shocking than actual reality.
no surprises for good or bad, the first scene sets the feelings for the whole film.
you have been warned!
highly underrated non fairy tale indeed. i love when the story can stand on its own for all of its bits rather than twists or finales.
i expected a happy ending, but there's still so much good in this film that the ending doesn't matter. hence, a comedy.
yes, the drama drags for too long. and the monsters are a plot gimmick. yet, more than that, they also help to tell a story of how stupid humans can be even when we get such an extraordinary power. both of them, all of us.
the only flaw stands in the sum of those missed details, otherwise a masterpiece that i watched on release, enjoyed it very much, completely forgot about it, watched it again now as new and enjoyed it yet again.
(i also miss my partner from back then, reason why i needed a happy ending or some more inspiration anyway)
i recall watching the first 2 movies before my only marriage, and after my divorce i think i completely forgot that i must have already watched this many years ago!
and, this speaks a lot to me as i turned 42 and went through this separation in a somewhat similar fight, in which she claimed to stop loving me and then leave.
so real.
i just have no idea how to find her again and meet her again, but i know this will happen. this last scene.
thanks for the inspiration anyway!
and the amazing trilogy that could still use a 4th volume.
together with captain fantastic and la belle verte, they consist of highly underrated and underground films that can greatly impact most people's lives today.

ending was ruined. a catholic world ran by a wheel mouse was a great picture.
indeed, as a story telling movie, there's nothing special. i slept twice and watched it over 3 days. but as being apparently very real to the history of what happened, with minor adaptations, it's an amazing piece of art. way under appreciated.
disclaimer: i also vwant to create a country (but in the land and very peacefully), and the project, called ahoxus, have already started in portugal.
